🔴LIVE 🔴Baltimore Orioles vs San Francisco Giants / August 29/ Envivo Tv/ /MLB THE SHOW 25

in league baseball on MLB the show. It’s the Baltimore Orioles taking on the San Francisco Giants. Alongside Chris Singleton, I’m John Shambi Singy. This might be my favorite ballpark in the game. Just looking out over the bay, seeing the boats in the water. Beautiful ballpark, a great atmosphere. Don’t get it twisted. San Francisco Giants fans bring it. First pitch coming your way next. just about ready to roll. And our pitcher tonight, Logan Web and Singi, we were talking earlier about how he’s doing a great job navigating through tough spots. I’ve just been so impressed with when it seems like there’s more pressure, he’s more calm and settles in. He’s done an incredible job with runners in scoring position. Most guys, they get a little tight, they start to aim the baseball, but for some reason he gets looser, the ball comes out of his hand with more life, and he’s able to wiggle off the hook of, you know, tough situations and get his team back in the dugout. Jackson Holiday leading things off and takes a strike. Sharp grounder. That’s through for a base hit. Batting second, right fielder number 82, Jeremiah Jackson, the next to hit for the Orioles. Cut on and lifted in the air and that’ll fall for a base hit. And they’re at the corners with nobody out. Went up there looking to be aggressive and got something he could handle. recognized the break on that pitch early and that allowed him to keep his front shoulder in. You know, it’s easy to bail on those front door breaking balls, but a great job right there of letting it travel, then unloading a nice balance swing. So, runners at the corners, nobody out. Gunner Henderson the next to hit. Ground ball up the middle and it’s through for a hit. Run scores easily and it’s one- nothing. Picks himself up an RBI. Really nice job staying up the middle with his approach. She didn’t try to do too much with the pitch. Just shot it through the infield. First and second, no outs. Ryan Mount Castle digs in now. There’s the strike. This might be the most pressure you put on this guy today. You got one run in, you got to try to get another one or maybe two. [Music] grounder might be two. Good feed. That’s one relay to first double play. For me, that’s one of the toughest double plays to turn on the infield. The first baseman has to get inside, create a throwing lane to hit that middle infielder to start the double play, and then from there completing it back to first. Really good job all the way around. So, two down now and here is Emmanuel Rivera in the first pitch. Misses for ball one. And another ball. He hasn’t wanted to challenge him. Both of those pitches off the plate away. Don’t expect anything down the heart of the plate. You may just have to be patient and take your walk here. And that one missing low. Good pitchers make pitches in big situations. And right here with a middle of the order hitter up, runner in scoring position. He’s got to find a way to throw a quality strike. And there’s the automatic. Definitely not a pitch location you’re expecting up there as a hitter when you know the guy’s got a good sinker ball. If he can get in that location, boy, you’ve got to look top to bottom and that’s going to make it very difficult to hit. Strike him out. Caught him looking for the K, but they pick up one run on the RBI single. It’s an early one- nothing lead. Back after this on the show. And we’re back. Now the starting pitcher in this one, Cade Povich. And Chris, pitching on the road has not been particularly kind to him. Yeah. And you don’t want to be too quick to say that he can’t pitch on the road. Sometimes, you know, it’s just a matter of luck. It’s not having a feel difference between the bullpin mound to the mound out there on the playing field. Don’t know what it is, but I know this, he’s got good enough stuff to overcome and get it done on the road as well as at home. So, we’ll see what he’s able to do in this one. Here’s a high-fly ball out to center. Cowser makes the grab and there’s one down. Now we take a peek at the Giants lineup. This group was shut out their last game, so we’re going to see if they can bounce back with a better effort here today. And Boo, it can get in your head a little bit when you get shut out. You’re frustrated. You’re seeing that consecutive streak of innings you haven’t scored. And you want to get off to a great start. score early because if you don’t, you feel like it could linger into two consecutive games which no one wants to be a part of. Rafael Divers at the plate and takes high there. One out, base is empty. [Applause] Highf fly ball on that one. Curling foul down the right side. Little early on that fast ball. I’m sure the pitcher taking a note. Look for an off speed pitch on this next one. Line drive puts it away for the out. That swing right there tells me he’s seeing the ball pretty well. I know it didn’t produce a hit, but he made solid contact, and that’s all you’re looking to do anytime you’re at the plate. Willie Adam stands in. Come on now, Willie. That’s out to center field. Cowser sizes this one up and that is that. second inning set to go and into the box for Baltimore. Colton Cowser taken high in the draft. He’s had that top prospect label over him since he put on a professional uniform, but at some point that starts to go away and you’ve got to produce at the big league level. Swinging a foul straight back. Webb 28 years old and he was drafted in the fourth round back in 2014. Swinging a foul out of play. Swings and misses and quickly one away in the second. He’s locked in at the plate when he’s using the whole field. He was out in front there. just needs to let the ball travel a little more and his timing will be back on track. Good pitch for the strikeout. So up next, Kobe Mayo [Applause] and first offering is fouled off. One down. Base is empty. Line drive. And this might be trouble. Around first and hustling for second. Not stopping. He’s going for three. And he’s got himself a triple. Well, a swing like that can help you come out of the struggle. We saw the numbers coming into the ball game, but all he’s trying to do at this point is help his team win. One down, runner at third. This is Dylan Carlson. Baltimore right through there for a strike. California kid played for his dad at Elkrove High School. Was teammates there with Nick Madreal. The pitch fast ball for a strike and it’s 0 and two. 02 count both pitches on the inside part of the plate. hitter is thinking, I don’t want to get beat here. This is a good time for something off speed away. Runner on to third. One gone. This one in the dirt and well done to keep it close. Punch him out. Swing and a popup. Foul territory for the catcher. He makes the grab and there’s two away. Batting night catcher Alex. And here’s Alex Jackson. He’s been such a good hitter with runners in scoring position. Some guys just take it to another level. for him right now at the plate. It’s like everyone else is in slow motion and he’s in full speed. That one finds the zone and that’s strike one. Mayo on third with two out. Strike two. And the sweeper misses for a ball. See if he can go upstairs a little bit. Make sure you miss up and out of the zone since you’re heading the count one two. Don’t miss in the zone cuz that’s where you get hurt. Swings and misses. Struck him out. One hit in the inning, a triple, but they leave him stranded. Now to the bottom of the second. It’s the Orioles one and the Giants nothing. And welcome back to the ballpark. Now the third baseman, Matt Chapman. Matt Chapman. Povich back to work. And that misses ball one. That one is absolutely belted and that gets down into the gap. safe at second with a leadoff double. Everything came together for him. Got a fast ball middle of the plate, jumped all over it. Absolutely smoked that ball. Now a pretty big at bat coming up with a chance to even this ball game up. [Applause] Runner in scoring position. No outs. And up next for the Giants, Casey Schmidt and misses inside. As a pitcher, you know, the runner on second is ready to push things with his speed. A base hit is probably going to be a big run, so you really have to execute on the mound. Runner in scoring position. Nobody out. Bottom half of inning number two. Oh, can’t pick it up cleanly. Still finds a way to get off a throw and they get the out. Good recovery. Wasn’t easy following the misplay. Batting six, first base, Wilmer. And now it’s Wilmer Flores. Late swing. Fouled off. outside and the count even one and one. Just missed with that back door breaking ball. If he gets a swing and miss or called strike, 02 count instead. It’s 1-1. Look for him to go back to that pitch later in this at bat. Next pitch is outside. [Applause] ball here. Rolls foul. That one the other way. That’s a base hit. Stop sign goes up at third. Runners at the corners with one out. Well, he wasn’t afraid to hit with two strikes. I think he choked up a little bit, maybe spread out, but he got the job done right there. Here’s the center fielder, Jung Hu Lee. I’m curious how he decides to attack on the mound. This guy at the plate has been great hitting under pressure this year. hit on the ground to the right side. Holiday off balance feed. There’s one, but no throw to first as he’ll hold on to it. Luis Moss, the next giant to hit. Luis Moss. First pitch misses. Tied up here in the early going. Step off throw to first. Lee dives back in safely. Ball game is still tied. They can get out of this inning with a tie game. Ball to strike. The pitch swing and a pop off in foul ground to the wall and he can’t reach it. fouls it off. Still one and two. Two outs in the dirt to second, but way too late. Safe there. And now a man into scoring position. Getting the out was never going to be easy. The wild pitch outside made things very difficult behind the plate and it turned into a stolen base opportunity. Runner at second. Two down. Stays alive. man at second. And there’s a ball. Patrick Bailey in the on deck circle hoping to get a chance to make a big impact here. [Applause] Keeps the bat going with a foul ball. [Music] Let’s go out towards left center. Carlson sizing this one up. Squeezes it and that will end the inning. A run on two hits and they leave one. We play two full. All tied 1-1. Top half of the third inning. Here’s the second baseman, Jackson Holiday. Holiday. First pitch doesn’t find the zone. Chopped to the right side and that goes foul. Now pitching number 88 is forced to the mound after the injury. Gets an opportunity to square off against his former team. So I wouldn’t be surprised if he came out a little extra jacked up right here. And that drops in for a strike. Up and in. Two and two. He’s great hitting the ball the other way and that pitch did a good job to straighten him up a bit. Mission accomplished. That one missed. Really good take especially with two strikes. Fouled off again and it remains three and two. I wouldn’t throw him another breaking ball. Try to go again with a fast ball. Slightly elevated. He just having a hard time catching up. Swing and a miss. Struck him out and one away. Oh, nothing too fancy on the strikeout pitch right there. Just a low 90s fast ball and I’m not sure he was trying to challenge him, but that’s pretty much what happened. Very hitable location, but he found a way to just get it by him. Jeremiah Jackson the next to hit for the Orioles swings and misses. 0 and one. And one foul ball. Strike three and that’s two in a row. Chance to strike out the side. Now, you talk about the benefits, the advantages of relievers who can come in and get the swing and miss, whether it’s inherited runners or maybe a little jam that they get into themselves, knowing that they can miss the bat. Tell you what, that’s huge and can change the ball game. And next for the Orioles, Gunnar Henderson RBI single his last time up. Curve ball drops in for a strike. swings through that one out in front that time. More and more guys are looking to slug regardless of the count and this situation will keep a close eye on his approach. Foul ball still 0 and two. Two out. Base is empty. Pitcher having a pretty tough time getting that swing and miss. Third foul ball in a row. And one and two. This guy’s a fun guy to watch taken at bat. He just battles up there. He doesn’t take a pitch off at all. Makes it so difficult on the pitchers out there. You can tell they get frustrated with how long it takes to put him away. And the curve is down and in. Well, he might have to look for a different putaway pitch right here 22. He’s already seen the curve ball couple of times in this at bat. So, might have it timed up and ready for it. Fouled off and they’ll do it again. Well, he’s having a tough time getting a pitch by him. As a hitter, you feel pretty confident that you’re seeing different pitches still able to make some type of contact. And that is downstairs. Full count now. Wow. This guy’s really battling up there as if his run is the game-winning run. I love his tenacity upstairs. And that is ball four. That’s a great at bat. He saw a lot of pitches and earned a walk. What a battle. It’s not always easy laying off a 3-2 pitch. And I tell you what, he earned that walk. Here’s Ryan Mount Castle. He’s 0 for one. First pitch just misses. Now, if he’s going to steal second, you want him to go early in the count. That way, he’s not a distraction to the hitter at the plate. Go ahead and get it out of the way so the hitter can focus on the pitch. This might be a steal situation, but that’s not your average catcher behind the dish. You have to be careful here. Now, snap throw to first. Henderson back in on a dive. Henderson the runner at first with two gone. Francisco. This one gets away as he can’t handle it behind the plate. Wild pitch and into second moves the go-ahead run. That pitch was pretty far outside. Further than he was set up, so kind of a tough one to handle, but still something he knows he should have had since it bounced off his glove and got away. The count two and one. Hot shot to third. Tosses across to first and that is that. So no runs on no hits, no errors and a runner left. We move on to the bottom of inning number three. All tied 1-1. back here in San Francisco. And now the switch hitting catcher, Patrick Bailey. This guy one of the best defensive catchers going. You talk about framing, the ability to block, catch, and throw. He is at the top of the game right through there for a strike. Really good athlete. And many times we talk about, you know, the feet of infielders. This catcher as well, really quick feet. He’s able to recognize the pitch, see the trajectory, and get into a spot where he can block those balls and keep them from going to the back stop. Really impressive with the way he frames, the way that he sets it up. Because sometimes those pitches are off the plate, but because he sets up and presents it so well, he steals strikes for his pitcher. [Music] That’s inside. grounds one to short. Henderson, slings it across. One up, one down. Talk about being able to dial up the velocity. That first base over there might need a little pad inside that first base. Here’s Elliot Ramos. All right, Giants. [Music] Next offering is in for a strike. Wow, that’s 89 on the gun and it’s a change up. It’s like good hitting if you’re looking for it, but because of the speed differential between the fast ball and that pitch, really hard for a hitter to get on time with it. That one misses. Ball two. And delivers outside. Base hit. So, a man aboard now with one away. Couldn’t have timed it up any better than that. Fast ball pretty much middle middle and that’s what you fall asleep dreaming about as a hitter. So, no surprise he put a great swing on it. Man aboard. And here is Des. He’s 0 for one. Let’s keep it going. Runner on the go. Swings and hits one in the air out towards right field. And there’s two down. Are you kidding me? Now batting the shortstop, Willie Adamus. And digging in for San Francisco. Willie Adamus fly to center his first time. rolled softly, but that goes foul. [Music] Here’s the pitch to Adamus. Little bit low and it’s one and one. [Applause] Swings and blasts one deep to left center. This looks like extra bases. Lead runner makes the turn at second. Rounds third headed for the plate. He’ll score. Mission accomplished there as he picks up the RBI to give him the lead. That’s a good sound coming off the bat, man. And as he connected out front, ripped it into the outfield. That’s one of those swings where you just don’t even feel the ball hit the barrel. That’s a pure stroke. And here is Matt Chapman. doubled his first time. [Applause] Ball one, no strikes. The strategy of winning a ball game when you can make that pitcher work a little more, expose himself by throwing pitches, that can be the key to winning perhaps later on. So, good job of extending this inning, getting a knock with two outs to bring the number four hole hitter up. Swinging a ground ball and it goes just foul. Breaking ball misses down and away. Looks like he’s being a little cautious with him in this at bat after doubling the first time up. Doesn’t want to make another mistake. Two outs and one in scoring position. outside low and the count is three and one. Casey Schmidt waits to bat for the Giants. Fouls one away and now three and two. Knocks that one away and we’ll do it again. Man on second, two down. Foul. We’ll see another payoff pitch. Eighth pitch of the at coming up. That’s the strike out for Chappie. One run, a pair of hits, no errors, and one left on. On to inning number four. It’s the Giants two and the Orioles one. Welcome back. And now on the mound to start the fourth, Katon Win. This is his third time out this year. Now it’s going to be Emmanuel Rivera. He was a strikeout victim his first time. Strike one. Cole Knight tonight, Boo. And that’s a pretty firm fast ball right there. I tell you what, memories of getting jammed, they creeping into my mind right now. [Applause] Hard hit right side. Takes it himself. Leadoff hitter retired in the fourth. Now batting the seven fielder Colton Cowser. So next to hit for Baltimore, Colton Cowser. His July and August splits there. Giants fought off foul trying to hold a one-run lead. Top half of inning number four. That one ripped but fouled. Misses and the count is one and two. His understanding of the strike zone very impressive. That was a very close 02 fastball. I just don’t know how you take that. And that’s downstairs now. Two and two. Fights it off. He’ll see another. That wasn’t an easy pitch to hit. It’s much easier to do damage against mistakes, but that’s not what that pitch was. line and caught at third by Chapman. The Gold Glover makes the play. He put a really good swing on that pitch and hit the ball hard. You know, line drives won’t always find a hole, but the more you can hit the ball like that with good exit VO, the better off you’re going to be in the long run. Mayo in the box with two gone and takes a look at a called strike. Activity in the bullpen. Ryan Walker getting ready to come in for Bob Melvin number 77 warming up as well. [Applause] Foul ball. It stays nothing and two and a foul ball. He stays alive. Ball one there. Swing and a hard hit. Grounder to third. And that’s a fair ball around first. Digging for two. Throws to second as the tying run is forced to stop at second. Well, that certainly feels good when you can win the atbat after being down in the count up against it with two strikes right there. I know that was a ground ball, but it was absolutely hammered through the infield. That’s not one you’re excited to get in front of if you’re an infielder. You know, they used to say charge it crazy. So, runner at second, two down. And into the box for Baltimore, Dylan Carlson delivers a pitch in for a strike at 95. [Music] Come on, Giants. Liner. And this could be trouble. Headed for the plate. He scores to tie it up. Well, that’s a big swing of the bat driving in the run with the two bagger. That pretty much split the zone down the middle. And those are the ones where you got to make them pay. Alex Jackson getting ready to hit. 0 for one. He struck out swinging last time. There’s the strike. All in one swing and a ball popped up. Schmid gets there. He’s under it. And that’s the third out. The O’s add one on an RBI double. And we’re deadlock now at two apiece. It’s Major League Baseball on the show. Welcome back. And they turn to a new arm as we kick off the bottom of the fourth. Corbin Martin still pretty early in the ball game. So, this bullpen has some work ahead of him. Best case scenario might be if he can come in here and get several quick outs, kind of bridge the gap that starter left for him. So, digging in, Casey Schmidt grounded out his first time. Schmidt San Francisco fouled off. He was late [Music] now. A high-fly ball out to left center. Makes the grab. One away. Now batting first. And here’s the first baseman, Wilmer Flores. Giants. And that one just misses a ball and no strikes. Boo. He never moved cuz he never had time to. With that kind of velocity, you’d prefer that pitcher work away. Now one and one backto-back fast balls in. That last one called for a strike. Probably go away, but look for him to come back in there to try to finish you off. [Music] Splits the plate. One and two. Movement in the bullpen. Number 86 is up and throwing for Brandon High. Bradish also getting ready. [Music] One down, base is empty. And it stays fair, man. He just absolutely turned on that one. Ripped it down the line. Nice job of staying his mechanics. One gone, runner at first. Jung Humley, the next Giant to hit. Slashed foul down the right side. That’ll hook off into the seats. [Applause] in the air left field down the line and no one can get to it. It’s a foul ball. Got him swinging. Seems that he was committed to swinging at this pitch regardless of where it was before the pitch was even released. He’s in an 02 count and you’re looking to battle at that point trying to protect the zone. So, you do become a little more swing happy, but on a fast ball that doesn’t even come close makes you think there wasn’t much of a two- strike adjustment being made there. Swing hard in case you hit it. He didn’t hit it. [Music] San Francisco Next offering misses and one and one ground ball to the right side. Boots it but they get the out at first and that’ll do it for the inning. One left for San Francisco and this game is still tied at two and two. We’re back and there’s a new arm on the mound to start the fifth. Number 77. Well, he struggled quite a bit. So, this is another opportunity to get on the right track. He’s given up more than one hit per inning pitch so far this season. Back to the top of the order at the plate. Jackson Holiday singled and scored back in the first. He’s one for two. And that one is in for a strike. Trying to keep good speed off the bases. Swung on. Belted. That’s back there. And that one is out of here. That one felt good. And that’s how they take the lead. It’s 32. He absolutely feasts on right-handed pitching and devours that one for a homer. And you can see that’s what he expects of himself at bat after at bat. He’s that confident with a low 90s fast ball. You have to live on the edges and hit your spots. If you don’t, you’ll get hit hard. Really good swing there. Patient. waited for it. It was like BP all over again. And now Jeremiah Jackson, one for two inside and that’s ball one. Always exciting to see a laid-off home run in an inning. Kind of gets the offense fired up and you start to expect a big inning. on the ground to the left and that’s just foul. With the big bats coming up and a home run already surrendered, he’s really going to have to execute against these next couple of batters. Swang and a ball lifted in the air. Matos puts it away for the out and there’s one down. Oh yeah. Now batting short stop. The batter now Gunnar Henderson. He’s someone that you might not describe as having elite level speed but he can absolutely move and it is a factor in his game. Swing and that ball smashed on a line. Pulls it down and there’s two gone. Man, that’s one of those at bats where you have to remind yourself it’s about the process. He did everything right right there. nothing to show for it. But in your mind, you have to convince yourself that it was a very good at bat. And there’s a foul ball. The one is outside and it’s a ball and a strike. Boo. This guy’s definitely a plus runner, but what I love about him is that he goes all out every single time. Never takes a break. It’s guys like that, even though they don’t have the elite speed, the fact that they’re consistent with it, they make moves on the base paths. Hard hit left side. Chapman over to first in time. Third out, that ends the frame. Solo homer brings in one for Baltimore. It’s now a 3-2 ball game. Back now to start the bottom of the fifth and taking over on the mound. Number 86. And he’s had his struggles so far this year. As you can see, the inflated erra looking to bring that down a little bit right here. Here’s the catcher, Patrick Bailey. This is a guy who’s in the lineup first and foremost because of what he contributes defensively, Chris. And when you talk about preventing runs from being scored, this guy is a big contributor. Looking to get the tying run on base. I was always told it’s hard to take you off the field when you play really good defense, especially at a premier position. And that’s what he does. swaying and a ball popped in the air and a quick out number one. Now batting left fielder Elliot. Now the left fielder Elliot Ramos and the first pitch misses for ball one. Nasty back door slider. There’s really nothing you can do with that if you swing at it. So, that’s a good take by him right through there for a strike. Got the bat going too soon. It’s strike two. This guy’s got such a good sinker. As a hitter, you’ve got to look up in the zone. If you look down, you’re going to be chasing stuff in the dirt. That missed by a lot. Two balls, two strikes. [Applause] Rafael Devers in the on deck circle hoping to get a chance to make a big impact here. [Applause] Struck him out looking. Oh man, just locked him up with that slider even though it caught a lot of the zone. And I think that tells you all you need to know about what he was looking for in the box. And it clearly was not that pitch. And here is De’s bowl for two in this one. Swing it. A ball popped in the air out to shallow center. And that is that. Giants go down quietly and it’s still a 32 ball game. New inning getting started. And now here is Emmanuel Rivera. And here it comes. And he takes a strike. You know, these Orioles, simply put, are producing a lot of quality swings. They’ve hit seven line drives already, and even though some of them have been for outs, there’s nothing wrong with delivering consistent hard contact. That’s almost always going to lead to positive results. Now, one out to right. Could be extra bases. Makes the turn and heads for second. The throw in. still able to come through behind in the count right there. He got that front foot down and pitch recognition was on point. Pretty impressive for an 02 count. And next for the Orioles, Colton Cowser. And he swings over the top there. One’s the count. Giants. Foul ball there. Rivera stands at second with no outs. swing and a miss and he got him. Not what you’re looking for after the leadoff double. A strikeout and there’s one away. Kobe Mayo now at the plate. And a foul ball. One out and a runner at second. on the ground out to short. Sends it to Flores and they get the out. Here’s the left fielder, Dylan Carlson. RBI knock for him last time. Now a chance to drive in another run. In this situation with first base open, he shouldn’t give him anything to hit. There’s a right-hander on deck. Fast ball in for a strike. 0 and one, man. I mean, nice job just presenting it to be better than it actually was. And a swing and a miss. It might be time to choke up a little bit. Get that front foot down early. Maybe even just spread out. He’s really late right now. That’s outside. One and two to count. popped up foul territory behind the play. Bailey settles under it and makes the catch and that’ll do it. So a missed opportunity after the leadoff double as they strand the runner. Hard of the order 345 coming up. It’s the Orioles three and the Giants two. Back now and on the mound the closer Year Cano. He comes in with a chance for his second save of the season. Yir cano. Willie Adam digs in now. The short stop Willie Adam and that drops in for a strike. [Applause] just missed. [Applause] And that’s outside and it’s two and one. Well, an interesting situation. One swing you can tie up the ball game, but if you’re patient and work a walk, then you bring the game-winning run to the plate. that misses the zone and now three and one. I almost feel like he’s frustrated a little bit. He wants to be challenged. [Applause] Next offering is in for a strike. And the tying run is on base. Well, a breaking ball in that 3-2 count kind of tells you that that’s the pitch he has the most confidence in right now. Just couldn’t find the strike zone. No outs. Runner at first. Matt Chapman up to the plate now. There’s a strike. There it was. A high velocity fastball in the zone. And I think a little frustration from walking the previous hitter. He’s got good stuff. Pitch inside the zone and trust it. Next offering way off the plate. Trying to close out a one-run lead and the home team trying to pull it out. Swing and a miss. Now he’s in a one-two hole with two strikes. May see some movement over there at first base. Trying to stay out of the double play right here. Hammered on the line. base hit. Throw back in quickly. First and second now with nobody out. Well, a big swing of the bat right there. Just a solid swing right there. Caught it out front and ripped it into the outfield for the base hit. Those always feel great. Now, a huge at bat in this game coming up. And up next for San Francisco, Casey Schmidt. And there’s no doubt that they’ll feed off the energy from this crowd, right? I mean, yeah, I’d say the intensity level has gone up a few notches for sure. Down the line and it’s fouled. Hitter’s got some good opposite field power. What I like about something being hit to the right side into the outfield is that the base runner at second has a very good read and can determine whether or not he can score on that base hit. going to count one and two. And there’s a ball. [Applause] Ground ball right side. Could be two. Offbalance feed. There’s one and that’s all they’ll get. That play won’t be trending on social media later on, but it’s still important to execute it to perfection. This game is a lot harder than it looks, partner. And now the first baseman, Wilmer Flores. He’s two for two. Well, all eyes on the double play ball in this spot. No better way to get out of this inning. First pitch misses. In this situation, the batter’s got to know what the pitcher is trying to do to him, and that’s trying to get him to hit the ball on the ground, get two for one. You got to look for something up in the zone. At worst case scenario, you deliver the sacrifice fly. Yeah, that’s fouled off. So glad these ballparks have installed the netting to protect the fans, keep things safe. Rudder takes off. Swing and a miss. Throw save. [Applause] Swing and a miss. Struck him out. Now only one out remaining. Well, this is where the team aspect really comes into play on the offensive side of the game, right? I mean, missed opportunity to tie it up with the runner at third, one out, couldn’t put the ball in play. So, now it’s time to pick him up. And that’s where good teams, they go to. They operate on this level of next man up. That mentality is what causes them to win series, get into the postseason, and that helps keep the energy and morale high in the dugout. Lee in the box now. Take strike one. The winning run on second base. Tap foul at the plate. One strike away. Line drive and this might be trouble. One runs in. The winning run crosses the plate and the Giants walk it off and win it 4-3. Well, you come to the ballpark hoping you’ll see something special that day. Whether you’re a player or a fan, a walk-off win, nobody forgets that. A memorable moment that’ll be logged in the backs of the minds of everybody that witnessed this here today. [Applause] 4-3 our final score for Chris Singleton and our entire crew here at MLB the show. Thanks for stopping by. I’m John Shami. Talk to you soon. Unbelievable.
