D-backs vs. Dodgers Game Highlights (8/29/25) | MLB Highlights

It’s Gallon for the Diamondbacks. It’s Snell for the Dodgers. Pretty much two pitchers going in opposite directions. Blake Snell now healthy and pitching the ball very well. Zack Gallon, his contract year this year is not going real well. Loves that mount right there. Loves pitching here at Dodger Stadium. 3 and 0 this season. Loves pitching here. Loves pitching against the Diamondbacks. He’s got a 199 RA against Arizona, which is third all time. She gets him with a change, which he’s thrown more than ever. It’s a nasty change up too. Think about that 93 mph high and away fast ball he started him out with and then go low and away on a 3-1 from Snell. He takes ball four and there’s the first base runner for Arizona. Blake has pitched in some traffic. He’s kept his erra down, but there have been, you know, quite a few singles off of him. He’s been very good with runners in scoring position, but it has been in a lot of LA traffic. Yeah. Whip is walks and hits per innings pitched and his is the highest that it’s been since he was a rookie nine years ago and he rings him up with a fast ball. Makes quick work of Carol. Two gone in the first. Now a runner at third, two down and Lord is his eyesight will be unimpeded with a two- two count. You know the nice thing about him getting over to third base Pomo is his snail just like you’ve seen the last couple pitches. He can spike one and that could give you a run right now. Big bouncer. Batsel have to hurry on the move. His throw is in time to finish off a scoreless first for Blake Snow. Gallon despite the lead off walk faces the minimum. He strikes out one. We go to the second. Nothing nothing our score. This is where the Dbacks get hurt. Those leadoff walks. It affected them over in Milwaukee a couple times. Want to give them those free passes. This team’s good enough trying to get on base. 21 homers for Tascar Hernandez, the right fielder. Yeah, he went. offered at the curve ball and Zack gets his second strike out. One away in the second. Nice job by Zack. Continues to feed him off speed breaking balls. Zack Gallon throws a beautiful curve ball and Conorto waves at it. Three strikeouts through six batters for Zack Allen. Fast ball in and he got the call. Allen walked Will Smith to start the inning. Then three consecutive strikeouts. Scoreless after two. Backs have one base runner through two innings after Domo Walk. Well, he made contact, but it was weak and Freeland threw him out. I was asking our hitters and our hitting coaches today what made it so hard to face him. Two things. First of all, like we’re seeing, the stuff just in a vacuum is electric, moves a ton. It’s hard to hit. But then they, everybody was saying that he never seems to have a bad miss. Rarely is it a ball closer to the heart of the zone. It becomes a hard miss to hit. You just don’t get many chances you feel like as a hitter. Another one, two to Lawler. He finishes him off sweeping in the curve for strike three, his fourth. This is a hammer. Other people have curve balls. Wow. Marte led off the game striking out against Snell. Payoff taken for ball four. Second walk. Keeps the inning going for the guy that drew the first. Couldn’t lay off. There goes Marte. A no throw from Smith. Second time in three innings the Diamondbacks have had a runner in scoring position. Has him off balance. Bounce it to a charge in Kiko Hernandez. And again he pitches around the traffic to the middle innings we go and a scoreless game on the middle part of the order for the Diamondbacks here. Corbin Carroll strokes the first one he sees to right center field. Hernandez recovers. Slides but it bounced. Carol hustling out of the boxes into second with a double. It was really close. There’s nobody taking anything for granted on this play. Let’s see. Let’s see if any leather slips underneath the ball. Oh, I think he caught it. But is there a voluntary release here? That’s a catch. That’s a catch. Call of no catches overruled. And now here is Lordis Scuriel Jr.’s looking for their first hit against Stone. And on pitch, Guriel pushed the ground ball through the right side into right field. Tasker Hernandez picks up a one-out single and that is the very first hit of the night for Arizona and it comes here in the top of the fourth inning. He’s thrown less than 50% strikes, but he’s getting all kinds of chases. Both these pitchers racking up the strikeouts, six of them for Zack Allen, five of them for Blake Snell with two outs. Here’s Blaze Alexander. Here goes Goreel. Alexander launches one way back and it’s Blaze into the bullpen. Blaze Alexander jumped on one and it’s two nothing Diamondbacks. No hits till this inning and now two hits. The runs he gives up are shocking cuz most of them are from the home run since the IIL. Five of the seven runs he’s given up are coming from the home run mowing people down. Mowing people down and all of a sudden just one swing little jolting. Left-hander Corbin Carroll leads off the top of the sixth against the lefty Blake Snell. Corbin trying to split the gap. Tay to Oscar Hernandez won’t get it and it one hopped the wall. Somehow came back in. Corbin standing at second base. Gabby’s had a tough time with Snell. He has struck out twice 0 for two. Snell has walked threes, punched out eight. He and Gallon each have eight strikeouts through five. Gabby Lane is open. Here comes Corbin. He will score. It’s an RBI knock for Moreno and a three nothing Diamondback lead. That’s going to do it for Blake Snell. Three runs on four hits. Zack Allen keeps on rolling. There’s a lot of reasons as to why he is not having the year he’s having. One of them early on, just not thrown enough strikes. You look at what he’s doing here tonight. He’s thrown 74 pitches. He’s thrown almost 50 of them in the strike zone. And when you’re in the zone, that’s when you can get some guys to chase. Loki Bets is 0 for two. Loki scoops it to deep left center. Lis watch this one go off the wall. He just missed a home run. Guriel gets it back in and Bets has the double. This the second hit for Los Angeles. He won’t chase the curve. Not the worst result ever. First base already open. Now you can get right on right with Smith. A two out walk. The tying run will come to the plate with Will Smith. This is the first time today they’ve had two runners on in an inning. Allen sitting at 92 pitches. This is the big AB of the night. Long on and drilled high and deep to left. Guriel back to the track. He’s got it right in front of the wall and the Dodgers threaten but do not score as Gallon turns in six scoreless. Kirby A who missed a month with a back issue came back on Sunday in San Diego had a one, two, three inning and then gets about a uh week rest. Eighth pitch, that’s what he did. What a play by Kik Hernandez and he got him. What a ball player, Kik Hernandez. You make the good pitch, you get the ground ball, but you got a great fielder who got a hard one. Got it done. Jake Woodford on looking for his first career traditional save. Dodgers down three to nothing to the bottom of the ninth. Got him with the Diamondbacks facing Freddy Freeman. Broken bat is Mike Drop, but Alec is there. around Thomas with a terrific sliding grab. He got a great jump on that and got to it. If the Dodgers can’t muster anything against Woodford be the seventh time this year the Dodgers were held to three or fewer hits. Right at Blaze at second, a one hopper. Two down for Woodford and it’s Tioscar Hernandez. Last man standing for Los Angeles. If it continues, Dalton Rushing will hit. 3-2 to Hernandez. Checks his swing. Laid off and they’re still alive here. Russian will get a chance to hit. Boy, that one was very close. So, Dalton Russian will pinch hit for Alex Call. Russian’s driven in five in his last two games. That’s the game. Dodgers get shut out for the first time since August 2nd. They came in hot, but the four-game winning streak comes to an end. And the Diamondbacks get to within two of 500. They’ve won seven of their last
