NOBODY Wants To ADMIT This About The NEW LOOK Dallas Cowboys Defense… | Cowboys News |
Yesterday, the Dallas Cowboys made one of the craziest trades that you’ll see right before the start of the season. They have traded Micah Parsons, one of the best pass rushers in football, for Kenny Clark in two first round picks. And I’m here to say that this is actually a pretty good trade for the Dallas Cowboys. I know a lot of people are either a devastated of losing Mike Parsons, which is understandable, or b they’re actually happy and glad that this drama is all over, right? he wanted a lot of money. I believe they offered him upwards of $200 million and um you know basically the Packers said he’ll give you 183 and he said okay I’ll do that. So again I don’t know exactly what happened in terms of the money but what I do know is he’s now gone. He’s in Greek Bay. Kenny Clark is now in Dallas. And in this video I want to show you guys why it’s not that big of a deal. Why I think that this trade actually works out in the favor of the Dallas Cowboys. Now again, I do think that the Packers will be a better football team with Micah, but I also think the Cowboys will be a better football team with Kenny Clark. And we’re going to discuss why in this video. Let’s just jump right into it. Now, the first thing that we need to make clear, right, is pass rush was never the issue for the Dallas Cowboys. Yes, you have Micah, and that was a big reason why they were ranked, and you guys can see right here, they were ranked number two in the NFL when it came to QB sack percentage. That is amazing. Okay. Now, losing like a Parsons, that will see some sort of effect. Maybe you go from two to seven or two to 10. Either way, you’re probably still in the top 10. And the reason I think that because when you look at their depth chart, when you look at the uh defensive ends, when you look at this front seven, you have Marshon Neland, who I do like, right? You have Dante Fowler, who’s coming off a great year in terms of stack production. The Commanders, beautiful, right? You have Donovan Ezrau who I think has looked really good throughout the preseason thus far. I love that addition. You have Sam Williams as a former second round pick. He’s getting healthy. Even James Houston showcas his ability to get to the quarterback. They have about five guys that I would trust throwing into the mix on day one as a starter. Okay, but it doesn’t end there. You also have Oso De Gazua who just signed an extension. He’s a guy that is going to be a factor up the interior of the defense, right? And then now you add Kenny Clark, you have Solomon Thomas, right? You have Perry on Winfrey and Mazy Smith. This front four is actually pretty stacked even without Micah Parsons. Okay, but let’s go back to the stats. What did the stats tell us from last season? Yeah, they were one of the best pass rushing teams in the NFL. Now, usually if your pass rush is really good, the rest of your team should be really good. I mean, defensively, your team should be really good. However, when you look at the numbers, they ranked 31st, almost dead last when it came to points allowed per game. A lot of you probably are sitting here wondering why. Why is that happening? How do we get the second most sacks per game percentage-wise and be the worst defense in football? Well, let’s look at it, right? They rank 28th in yards allowed per carry. Terrible. 21st in rushes allowed per game. Terrible. 29th in rush yards allowed per game. Terrible. 32nd dead last when it came to rushing touchdowns allowed per game. Guys, that is terrible. You know what that does? It allows offenses to be unpredictable and it allows them to be dynamic and versatile. If you can shut down the run game while also being able to get to the quarterback, your defense is going to be really good. Now, let’s look at what Kenny Clark brings to this. What’s interesting about Kenny Clark is a lot of people assume that you’re probably getting a lesser pass rusher in that is very true to some extent, but as an interior guy, the expectations are a lot different compared to Micah and Kenny Clark. This is a guy that yes, he can get to the quarterback. Okay. And we’re going to see a rep right here where they’re in a fiveman uh scat protection, the offensive line, right? They’re sliding to the right. They’re essentially creating a double team uh to this right side initially as they wait for this guy off the nine technique bounce there. Right. You also have one-on- ones here. Right. Watch Kenny Clark. He’s getting a one-on-one with the center as this happens. Just swims right by him and is able to get a sack on Derek Carr. He’s very quick off the snap. Um and he’s got very heavy hands which allows him to just kind of just move guys out of the way for the most part. Right. So, yes, he is a guy that can get to the quarterback. I wouldn’t expect him to put upwards of 10 to 12 to 14 sacks a year. I would just wouldn’t expect that, right? But what I would expect out of him is a guy that can give you production on in in both sides terms of being able to help stop the run, but also and more importantly, actually in this case, more importantly, stop the run, but also um get to the the the quarterback as well. Here’s another play where he gets a matchup, gets right by the first guy. You see the guard start to rotate over, right? Bullies through him and gets a sack. That’s three guys goes through on this specific play. And I do ultimately want to show you how good he is in the run game at times because that’s when I think he’s really going to be able to help out this defense, make them a little bit more dynamic. Um, again, great play by Kenny Clark there. But let’s actually jump into the run defense. why that is very important. Here’s a big play versus Kansas City. He’s going to engage. He’s going to keep the arms locked out, giving him enough space and enough leverage to kind of rip off whichever way the running back is going. And we got to be careful. Running backs can choose a lot of different angles to attack. Okay? So, we got to be careful when overcommitting. So, as we reach this point, great job. Look at how his arms are locked out. He’s extended. He’s got all the leverage in the world. He’s actually pushing this guy back just a little bit. Once he sees the running back come off, he disengages and he makes a tackle. No touchdown, no yardage. Great play by um Kenny Clark. Those are the ones that get me excited about this specific run defense that ranked pretty much dead last in every category. They were just terrible. They couldn’t stop the run, which gave teams just the ability to run, run, run, and then boom, play action pass. you finally get beat in the pass game and then boom, just like that you’re down seven nothing. So, that versatility should be a little bit less unpredictable um for them, which is good. Good sign. Another great play. Watch the disengagement here. He’s going to start off with a double team. He gets these guys to overcommit forward and he bounces to the outside, right? Gets beats two guys initially off the snap. center kind of rotates over back to the interior, but he gets around, his eyes are always on the running back and again goes and makes a play. And again, I can sit here all day, guys, and show you why I believe he’s going to be a differencemaker. And I think the run defense is going to be a little bit better than what they had in Mazi Smith. No offense to Mazy Smith, but you need someone different. Solvin Thomas, he’s a little bit better as a run defender. Um, big dude as well. So, he should be able to help out. And then you’re not losing you are losing a lot of I guess production from Michael Parsons. You are that is just how it is. But Kenny Clark is still a guy who can bull rush, get to the quarterback, create pressure and finish off plays like this again, like this, right? Gets a one-on-one matchup. And what’s crazy about the Dallas Cowboys is you have guys that you love in one-on-one matchups. Whether it be Marshon Nean, whether it be Sam Williams, whether it be um you know, James Houston or Donovan Ezaraku, it don’t even matter. Dante Fowler, those one-on-one situations are things you live for. Those guys are going to get them this year. And then Ken Clark, one-on-one match up to Ken Clark. I’m all in with that as well. So, I think this team did get a little bit better. Um, overall, I think the stack production is probably going to go a little bit lower. Also, really quickly, hit the like button, subscribe to the channel if you are new here. It is free. It doesn’t cost anything, and we will be covering the Cowboys all year long. We got you guys covered. Uh, film analysis for offense, defense, individual player breakdowns. Um, yesterday I dropped the the main reaction to Kenny Clark trade and Michael Parson’s trade. um just want to give a little bit more indepth video on why I think this is uh they’re in a fine situation. If you go back to 2023, he actually had some really good years. I mean, he had nine sacks in 2023. That is unbelievable. Um wasn’t great in run defense, but is better than anything that they had. You go back to 2022, same thing. not great in run defense, but as time was going on, he started to improve um in the run game, which is why I think he will be a factor. But again, pass rush, five sacks. So, yeah, you’re not getting a a Micah Parson’s type of pass rusher, but this is a guy that, you know, can still help this defense be better. Anything is better than what they had going into this season. In the interior, again, we can look at it all day. If you take Kenny Clark out of that nose tackle role, you have Mazy Smith and Solomon Thomas, right? We all know Osa can get to the quarterback. Dante Fowler can get to the quarterback. Nean Azeraku, Sam Williams, and James Houston to get to the quarterback. They still need work here in terms of being able to stop the run, but Kenny Clark is at least in my opinion a upgrade to what they had coming into the season. Um, when it comes to stopping the run, again, he’s not perfect. He’s not the best run stopper in the NFL. And I think they should probably make another trade to get someone that can really come in and do that on running downs third and one and whatnot, right? But I do think they’re better. So let me know what you guys think. Hit the like button, subscribe, join the family, and I will see you guys in the next update. Wanted to give a clear and overall opinion on this trade. I think it’s a good one, man. I don’t think it’s bad. Yeah, you give up Michael Parsons, save a lot of money. Save a lot of money. Um, pick up two first round picks. you get a player that can help you win. Now, I think their sack production will still be solid. We’ll see. We’re going to be breaking down a lot of film for this team. It’s really going to come down to the offense and how these guys play. I mean, they do not have depth at wide receiver at all. They have four wide receivers on roster. Maybe you count Jaden Blue as someone who can go catch football out there. Um, that is interesting. They do there. Um, but and like button, subscribe. I’ll see you in the next one.

Three things. First, we have a lot of Robins at pass rusher. Micah was Batman. 2 Robins <> 1 Batman. Those guys got product because of Micah. Second, Clark is older and you watch him start of year vs end of year and he’s gonna fade at the critical point. Third, run defense issues were more about assignment discipline than ability.
Strong Defenses are patterned Around Their Defensive Tackles, not the Linebacker or the Edge Rushers, although Micah is a dominant Player,it was proven that centering Defensive schemes to fit Parsons, strongly Failed in Key areas, if Clark is half of what He was Our Base structure will be Solid and more Balance because all Edge Rushers and Linebacker Players will be able to show more versatility and a more willing effort to make plays without any reservation
Of course, had we signed several players early enough,
We could've extended Parsons 1 to 2 yrs ago
FACTZ
Interior pressure allows for edge pressure to be more effective
I'd rather have a solid overall OLine vs stopping the run but no sacks and vice/versa
We have the LB Corp and secondary to do their jobs simultaneously
That's a winning defense
We've gotta stop the run
And our younger passrushers and scheme simply HAS TO STEP UP
My thing is why give up d law when u knew u you were given up Parsons later
Bros! I love this trade! With Micah, last 16 games he played that they lost, Cowboys gave up 175 yards per game rushing! It was a contract killer! For a weak mindLESSS LEADER!!! Bye “leader”
I heard a stat that we were nearly in pass rush when Micah was not on the field. It doesn’t matter Micah is great and he’s no longer on our team so let’s move on. Honestly, we were not going to the Championship this year anyway.
Luka , Micah , uh ?
As a diehard Redskins fan, thank you Jerry Jones. Jerry is suffering from the same thing Joe Biden suffers from. Both are Braindead 😂😂😂
One last thing, imagine if Dallas had a good 1-tech and the best edge, isn’t that better???
Weak pass rush and a weak secondary…Hope the cowboys plan on putting up a lot of points
I think they are trying to build a better overall defense to stop the run. This year is a work in progress with all the changes in coaches and additions. This is a transition year. I think we’ll know what we have at the middle of the year
Why not just show what KC did against Dallas in his career?
We stopping that tush push this this Thursday 💪🏿
Also 2026 NFL Draft got some serious defensive lineman coming out next year. It's going to be a really good year for defensive lineman next year and Dallas could use one of their 1st rd picks on a stud tackle or pass rushers if they want.
With Kenny Clark, Winfrey, Thomas. And OSA we shouldn’t be seeing that stiff Mazi in there except for garbage time. I know Eberflus doesn’t like to blitz but he needs some packages to provide more pressure. With Murray’s speed , liaufau, Overshown and Childress. James we can bring the heat when needed bec the speed in some of these guys is great.
I like the trade.( yes i liked Parsons) but they said the team has to change, from a defance that was all sparkles, glitter showman that could not get in the mud (Trenches) and stop the run.( which has been there problem for a long time). They will have to face Saquin twice and if you cant stop him than forget it. A added benefit is that our defance would be out there as long.
I fall in the happy category. Cowboys in the long run will be better for it. We can always go after a DE before trade deadline as well. If everything falls apart. Which I think people are going to be surprised how this defense in going to come together. Especially when we get back a few injured players.
Im not mad at all. I agree we should be better on defense
How about film of him playing the nfc east.
Cowboys should have gotten more for parsons than 2 first round picks. Should have been a three and a four included in those rounds
Dallas is the worst ranked defense when Micah didn’t play. And a top 10 defense with him lol
I am not speculating on if we are better. We shall see.
What I DO KNOW is Micah was not going to fix our run defense issues. This may become a disaster. This maybe one of the most shrewdest trades ever in the NFL. It really could go either way
EDIT: Eagles maybe in for a rude surprise…….
Great for the Cowboys, they will be better off in the long run.
