We got Major League Baseball on the board. We’ve got WNBA action. We got week one college football. Before you know it, week one NFL will be here as well. For me, it’s a great time to jump on because my Major League Baseball pickoff play. My best bet on the board every day for Major League Baseball. Still on an 18 and seven run across our last 25. Also got started on the right foot for college football this season. 2 and0 on Thursday. So, make sure that you jump on board. Remember to use the promo code pick at checkout and get 15% off your purchase. But let’s get to this one. between the Tampa, excuse me, the Miami Marlins and the New York Mets. The uh the New York Mets sending out David Peterson for the start in this one while the Marlins will counter with Edward Cabrera. And Cabrera coming off a fantastic start last time out against the Atlanta Braves in a win. Seven innings of one hit shutout baseball with 10 strikeouts. But the thing for me with Edward Cabrera is that his erra is still one run higher on the road this season. Just under four. The majority of those, you know, his recent starts in the uh in the month of August have more so been at home. So now you do head out on the road and take on a Mets team that in the last two weeks against right-handed pitching has been one of the hottest teams in baseball, hitting 316. The team OPS numbers are third best. The isolated power numbers are top five as well. So, I do like where this uh where this this Mets team is headed in that regard. And while I have been known to be a Mets hater on our morning show, I can’t deny what they what they brought to the table and what they’ve been able to put down on paper. And now you take on a Marlins lineup that has been inconsistent offensively. You know, that does have some pop in those bats at times, but realistically are not a team I’m going out of my way to back in any way, shape, or form. And like I said, Edward Cabrera, you know, has been solid in spots, but said just uh less effective when he’s been on the road. And I think this is just another one of those spots where, you know, I think that Cabrera could have some issues here. And I think that if if he gives up some runs, he could have some issues getting some run support from a Miami Marlins team that has really regressed to the Marlins in the last couple of seasons. And when I say that, I fully mean that this is a Marlins team that historically over the last couple years, you can look at the numbers, have been one of the weakest teams in baseball in terms of hitting left-handed pitching. David Peterson, he’s had his blips here and there. He struggled in his last two home starts, giving up 10 runs over nine and a third innings of work, 10 hits allowed as well, but he’s still been really solid at home this season for the most part. You know, he’s boasting a decent RA, just over three overall this season. When you just look at the uh the home split, five- one across 13 starts, a 2.93 erra, I think that Peterson can have another good start here. I think he can have a nice bounceback outing, and I think that he can shut down the the Miami Marlins here and get the Mets a much needed win for this playoff race. So, I’m going to roll with the the Mets in this one on the run line, and that’s going to be my free pick.
