NBA LIVE! Golden State Warriors vs Los Angeles Lakers | August 31, 2025 | Warriors vs Lakers | 2K
feel to it, doesn’t it? These teams love to run things down low. Yeah, it’s going to be a heck of a matchup, Kevin. A little bit of bully ball, you could say. Having a center you can run your offense through makes the rest of your offense that much better. Now, Golden State’s starting five in the back. Wishy Curry and Pajki. Jimmy Butler is out there with heel and it’s Green and at the five roaming the bench. And so the Los Angeles Lakers get the first points of the ball game. He gets it in there. Well, Curry’s accuracy makes the mid-range easy pick as he just goes up, nails the shot with ease. Now, here is Himmer. Tight defense on him. Curry against Donic. Six on the shot clock and it’s good for two. Guys, you never know what you’ll see when you’re watching Luca Donic. His offensive creativity is through the roof. Green deciding where to go with it. Healed outside. Here’s Hurt. He’s covered by Hatchimal. Hurt misses and and typically he has the touch to finish when he’s in tight, but not sure on that position. And the defense dodged one right there. Not the guy you want to leave open. A job by Pensky. No good. Los Angeles has gone one or two from long runs in the first quarter. Back to Himura and the layup is good after a nice lead pass. You have to push Hachimura out of there if you’re the defense. He’s a real problem on the interior. Green passes to Heel. Here’s PMski and it’s Aton with the rebound. Hatimura against Green. Now here’s Donic. Defense is right there and he gets it to go. Creating space. Donic will move defenders around. Green passes to Hurt. Good. Great play by Green to set it up. And hitting the mid-range jumper here early gives the defense just another thing to think about. And you don’t see many teams take these shots as often anymore. It’s nice to see them take advantage in this area. Near the three-point line, it’s Konic. Here’s Aton. Goes up again. He takes it up and lays it in. Just terrific at executing in the paint. Aton has a nice array of shots to choose from. And now we’ve got some time to check in from the sideline. You got for us DA? Hey Kevin, briefly spoke with JJ Reic now. I asked him about the challenge they face in defending Steph Curry. He said Steph is so hard to contain because of his constant movement off the ball. Conventional defenses won’t work against him. The matchups will be fluid. He’ll see a lot of different guys coming at him. He’s looking and needing a total group effort. Back to you guys. Thank you, David. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heel kicks to Green. Curry looking it over. Just five on the clock. The three sinks the three-pointer. Curry’s got five. Honestly, guys, Curry is the best three-point shooter I’ve ever seen. R.J., with how well Curry continues to play, I’m not sure his three-point record will ever be broken. It’s going to be tough to do, but even if it does, I think Steph will still be regarded as the best shooter we have ever seen simply because how he changed the game. Here’s Green following the basket by LeBron James. Green dishes to Curry. Shoots over Donic. Curry can’t get it to go. Lakers leading by six. Pass to Eightton. Some nice passing here by Los Angeles. Oh, Aton in position. Takes the alley pass and dunks it down. He’s a nimble guy for someone with that size. Aiden can get off of his feet quick for Alana. And so Green will bring it up for the Warriors. Outside Cur here’s Hurt. He’s covered by Hatchima. Donic against heel. Green with a screen for Heel. Four on the clock. Green. No one. Outstanding work to send him away. They sniff that one out. James the pass to Donic. A chance to extend the lead to double digits, but it’s no good. Peeled kicks to Green. Pass to Curry. Three-pointer. Good. Great play by Green to set it up. Eight points for him. Such a quick release. As soon as the ball touches his hands, it’s gone. Back to Donic. Shoots over Curry and the double of Donic. Bucket is good. Nice job getting inside for the layup. Got the deep thinking, jump shot, gave a little pump fake, and then off to the races. And we’ve got a timeout called by Steve Curry. He’s made the decision. He wants to huddle up with his guys. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Los Angeles making a switch Arabius check in. Healed the pass to Green. Pass to hurt from 12 ft out. A rebound by the Lakers. Eightton’s got rebound number seven for him tonight. And James gets it to go. Excellent allaround performance so far. Hence the big lead. They got off to such a hot start and that can keep you energized throughout the whole game. Now, here’s Heel. Hasn’t made one yet. Green with a screen on LeBron and the Warriors miss again. Lakers lead by 10. From downtown, Pajinski grabs the board. And something you see with the Lakers, they really trust their role players, don’t they, Richard? Yeah, LeBron does a great job of empowering his group. That’s why he’s top five in the league all time in assists. If you earn his trust, he will give you a ton of space to work. The Lakers know that they can only go as far as their great group of role players. Here’s Donic. Jimmy Butler making his last shot. Such a wide open look. Donic has got eight points. Displaying intensity right off the opening tip, especially on the offensive end. They came out swinging, really setting the tone on offense, and the opposition has not been able to respond. And the lack of effort to fight over the screen there makes that an easy shot. Yeah, as soon as these guys feel contact, they are just disappearing like they’re not even there. You got to show some fire and keep defending. Here’s Donic after the Warriors pick up three. Green with the rebound. And he’s very confident from that range, but he can’t make him off. Pass to Pajinski. Back to Green. He against LeBron. He kicks to Kurt. And another three for Golden State. Look at He’s unselfish approach. He’s working to find everyone to look, not just himself. Here’s Larabia. Back to Donic for three. That doesn’t go either for Donic. Warriors trail by four. Frank, everything they’re doing is working right now. Good run they have going right now. The momentum is huge. What do you guys think so far about the offensive approach for the Lakers? I’ve really been impressed with how aggressive they’ve been inside, looking to capitalize from the paint whenever they can. And I also like how they’ve trusted one another with the rock, creating shots by keeping the ball moving. First one falls for him. And free throws have never really been an issue for Butler. Makes a living at the line. Gabe Vincent, he’s checked in for Austin Reeds. And so he makes both from the line. And at the line, it’s all about consistency with him. His routine, his stroke, it never waivers. Pass to Donic. The three and right on through for another basket. He’s got five made on five of nine shooting. And we know Donas has limitless range, but for him it’s about becoming more consistent from deep. Here’s Hurt. He has six. Here’s Post now. Jackson Davis. No good. Shot missing. Here’s Vincent. Defended by Moody. And that’ll be two free throws coming up. Officials on the call with the foul. Los Angeles shooting their first shots from the stripe in this game. Yeah. A year ago though, Kevin, 78% conversion rate from the free throw line. So that’s a nice allaround effort. Take a break. Take a break. Two shots. A free throw drops for Vincent. The Warriors making a switch here. Santos has checked in. So, one for two that time with the strike. Warriors trail by six. Shoots the three and it’s Eightton with the rebound. Eightton’s got eight rebounds in this game. The latest now from our sideline reporter David Aldridge. David, it’s all yours. Take it away, Kevin. Thanks. If you think Luca Donic makes amazing shots in the game, you should see his trick shots. It’s legendary stuff with his teammates. Luca says, “I’m just making them up. I like to have fun, so sometimes I just try some new stuff.” And of course, Kevin, he always feels like they’re going in. And DA, he is a magician with the ball. A very creative mind, and it’s fun to watch. back to Davis and he takes the fantastic lead pass up strong for the slam. And I just love how Butler uses that pick and roll. Whatever the defense gives him, he takes. Some nice passing here by Los Angeles. Benson finds James. Here’s Laoria. Aton and Aton stays with it. Eighton’s got six. Asserted basketball. Eightton getting after it on the offensive glass, using his size to his advantage. Pass to Moody. Here’s Hurt defended by Vincent down low. Here’s Jackson Davis. And although he’s undersized, his position, his vertical, yeah, that’ll clean up a few mistakes. Here’s Lorabia. LeBron outside to Larabia. Five on the clock. Here’s Donic. Nails the 16footer. He’s got 13. And when Lucas sees the mid-range opener up, he takes the shot. Keeping things simple. Here’s Post and play stops. whistle on what looks to be an illegal screen. When a pick like that is questionable and creates that much of an advantage for the offense, you have to blow the whistle. You got to blow the whistle when it’s that obvious. Great call there by the official. Catching up on the changes for Los Angeles. Vanderbilt’s checked in for DeAndre Aton. And it’s Austin Reeves in for Luca Donuch. And the Warriors also making a change. Curry’s checked in. Reeves with it. defended by Moody. Reeves the pass to Vincent and he uses the glass on the layup. Yeah, they they have gone full throttle from the opening tip showing no signs of letting up. Yeah, they’re in control on both ends of the court and it’s always impressive when you build a double digit lead in the first quarter. Here’s Jackson Davis following the bucket by the Lakers. The Warriors shooting their third and fourth free throw attempts of the game. And he knocks down the first one. Connect. He’s checked in for the Lakers. Jackson Davis hits them both. Lakers leading by nine. Vincent the pass to Labraia. Here’s Connect. Vanderbilt setting the pick for Connect from the strike. to the left side wing. Vanderbilt with the screen. Reeves outside over Moody. Reeves can’t hit. And so it’s the Los Angeles Lakers in control with a nine-point lead to end the quarter. And their three-point shooting has paved the way for them. We’ll get right back to the action when we return. And if you’re just tuning in, we’ve got a wide margin on the scoreboard, but uh plenty of time left for a comeback. And from what we’ve seen so far from the Lakers guys, what are your thoughts? Well, when you control the glass, you control the second chance opportunities on both ends. And rebounding numbers, sometimes we overlook them, but they can have a big effect on the outcome. Austin Reeves out there with Gabe Vincent. Then there’s Jared Vanderbilt. Then it’s Connect and it’s Loravia in at the fourman position. That’s the group for the Lakers to start the second quarter. Great. What a great time to be a fan of basketball, not just in the NBA, but all over the world. Absolutely, Kevin. the sport just continues to grow and there’s increased value being placed on allaround skill even in youth basketball and I think that bodess well for the future of the game throw good Moody Lakers leading by six. And with it on deep breeds. It’s hauled in by Jackson Davis. Here’s Curry. Curry getting it done inside. He’s a magician inside. Curry always finds a window. Here’s Vincent guarded by Curry. Now connect still without a basket. Reeves left side. Four on the shot clock. Pass to Lavia. Shoots over Jackson Davis. And it’s Lorravia missing. Warriors trail by four. And here is Moody. Outside. Curry lets it go from deep. Curry. Oh, what else is new? Beautiful job closing the gap here. Let’s see if they can sustain this run. The thing they have to watch for is mental fatigue. They have to stay focused and finish the job. Reeves with it, trying to find Vanderbilt. Gets it to him. And with the offense getting right to the rim, at least they saved the layup. And some stats here, guys. The scoring breakdown for the Warriors. Well, so far their long range shooting has been the story. Doing damage from deep and also they’ve been draining mid-range jump shots, measuring the defense well, and just taking what they give them. The first one falls and the Lakers making a change here. Aim checked in. Vanderbilt hits them both. Warriors trail by three. Santos the pass to Moody and the layup is good. Moody’s got five points so far and really it’s been a major aspect of their offense in the early stages here. Their success working the ball inside and getting points from close range. On the wing, Reeds defended by Moody. Pass to Labraia. Krills the three-pointer. La has got his first bucket of the game and he’s on the board for three. And here’s Curry who brings it up for Golden State and he loss it up. It’s stolen. Here’s Rabio off target from three-point range. Warriors trail by four now. Here’s Moody. He’s got five. No one near Curry as he lets it go from outside off the mark. And even without that three ball dropping for him, the defense should have done more on that last play. Here’s Reeves. Jackson Davis defending inside. Just five to shoot. Pass to Vincent. Hits it from three-point range. Eight points in the game so far. And the instincts there from Hatimora. Notice the overcommitment by the defense and then makes the right pass. Just under three and 1/2 minutes played here in the second quarter. That one’s good. The Laker lead is cut to just five points on the basket from Curry. I I love the spirit he’s shown tonight, particularly on the offensive end. He’s going to keep putting up shots regardless of the score. That’s the kind of player he is. Reeves with it, defended by Moody. Reeves with a screen on Curry. Vincent that three off the mark. Warriors trail by five. This one for three. Another miss by Curry. Here’s Reeds. Scoreless thus far. A really good rebound in traffic. That’s what the big fella is there for. Santos. The pass to Moody. Now here’s Curry. There’s a screen. Curry with another miss. He’s got a throw. That one almost dropped to the inside. Here’s Rabia. He makes that one drop. Only a second in five tries. And they keep hammering away at him inside, forcing the ball into the paint. Top of the key, Jackson Davis. Outside cur. He hangs in there and cashes in on the second chance points. You know, we talk about it all the time, guys. Those second chance buckets always the result of that extra effort. Here’s Reeds. Gets that one to drop. First one of the game after four straight misses. And we talk about the importance of versatility. He’s really got it all on the offensive end. Pass to post. Here’s Curry with the three. Basket number eight for him on 13 tries. That’s 62% so far. On the offensive end, Curry both prolific and efficient. And JJ Reick is called timeout. Wants to talk some things over. Might be seeing some things to adjust. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. James checked in for the Lakers. Honage comes in for Vincent. Different look here for the Warriors. James looking it over. Some nice passing here by Los Angeles. Hachimura kicks to Donic. Just four to shoot. And again, no good by the Lakers. And here’s Heel. He’ll bring it up for Golden State. Four-point game. Here’s Green. Nope, not that time. Nothing for two from the field. Los Angeles has gone six of 14 with the three ball tonight. Just a little over 40%. And he can do a lot more damage to the rim than that when he wants to. Oh, you’re right. Oh, and with the lead they’re enjoying, I’m surprised he didn’t put a little something extra on that one. Now here’s healed. Still scoreless. Green. The screen. Here’s Pachki. Pass to Green. Golden State needs to get off a shot. He can’t hit. Lakers leading by six. Nonic with it. And Curry picks him up defensively. And count it. The shot is good. He’ll go to the free throw line. And how about the balance of Gonic on that possession. amazing at just absorbing the contact and still with the strength to finish. Connect. He’s checked in for Los Angeles. One shot. Eyepopping talent from Gon. We don’t see many players with his size and skill set. Warriors trail by nine. Outside Curry. Curry gets inside and lays it in. And he’s had an excellent performance overall from the field. Anj passes to Hatchima. It’s stolen by Green. An even threeon-ree break. Here’s Hurt. Ah, Butler attacks in transition. And this is why you got to be all over Butler defensively. When you lay off him for a second, he can scorch you with that pull up Jay. Here’s Donic. Score the basket. His eighth. Eight for 13 from the floor. And finding his teammate in stride. He led his guy perfectly up top heel. Donic against Cur. Rebound the Lakers. Donic has got his fourth rebound in this one. James kicks to Donic. Fires for three. Green with the rebound. Green’s got four rebounds in this game. Pass to Curry. Green with a screen on Donic. Curry pass it to Green. Off on the layup. Los Angeles leading by seven. They double him with Green. Hatchima kicks to Vanderbilt. Donic outside, floats one. Donic converts right through the defense. And already in his career, Donic displays a remarkable amount of pro moves, including that floater right there. Outside, Curry pops in the layup for two. Curry’s got 25 points. These are exactly the kind of shots they want to generate each and every time down the floor. LeBron outside the three. Jimmy Butler comes up with the rebound. Warriors trail by seven to the paint. Vanderbilt with the steel. Pass to connect. Now heel still yet to score. Here’s Hurt and contact on the shot. So he’ll be shooting free throws here. You You just can’t fall for Butler shot fake. Once he has you up in the air, he is really skilled at drawing the foul. This is his second trip to the line in this one. and he can’t get the first one. Some changes for the Lakers. Aton, he’s checked in for Vanderbilt. And it’s Austin Reeds in for Connect. And Golden State also making a change. Moses Moody, he’s checked in for Curry. It’s the second from the line and Reeds has got the ball here for Los Angeles. They’ve led by as many as 11 points down low and Aton throws it down. Clearly paying attention out there. Aiden rolls off smoothly into a nice scoring position. Pass to hurt to the wing on the left. Here’s Moody. And again, it’s the Warriors missing. Los Angeles leading by eight. 141 left here in the second. Hatchimura with it now. Green defending. shooting foul as the whistle blows. He’ll shoot two free throws and it goes on Draymond Green. And you can see what makes Hachimura a tough cover. He can beat you with finesse and also he can bring the hard hat. Take a break. Take a break. Two shots. And that one falls for Hachimura. Both shots good from the strike and the Warriors with possession here. Trailing by 10 pass to Hurt. Healed outside. A three-pointer no good. And I thought that was going to drop. Looks good from here. Reeves the pass to LeBron on the wing. Donic covered by Heel. Lock at six. Shoots it and that’s good for two. Donic has got nine points in the quarter. He just exudes a love of the game, guys. You can see it in everything he does. This guy lives and breathes the game. Here’s Herz. He’s got nine rebound. The Lakers’s got the glass covered here tonight. 11 boards for him. Heximeura against Heield. Pass to Donic. Donic going to work. And it doesn’t take much for Donic to get high. And once that happens, boy, he is almost unguardable. It’s a 4second differential between the shot clock and game clock. Shot by Heel. Nobody around. And again, unable to change momentum here. Catch down low looking for Aton. He gets it in there and he drops in the layup off the glass. Eightton’s got 10. Offensively, defensively, they are in total control. And guys, to go on a big run, get some breathing space, it has to be a great play on each end. It’s been all about Luca Donuch for the Lakers. He has really delivered at the offensive end. He’s torched him for 24 points so far. And now we’ll send it over to David Aldridge who is standing by courtside. David, Kevin, thank you. with Draymond Green. Draymond rebounding a bit of a struggle. How do you improve that? Hit your man. You know, get five guys to the boards. Guards get in there and clean up those boards that’s loose. But our big guys got to hold our mans off. And we’ve been doing that this time. We’ll see if all five can get you more boards in that second half. Trey, thanks a lot. Back to you, Kevin. Thanks for the great interview, David. And we’ll be back for the third quarter of basketball following halftime. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. And after a very lopsided first half, we’ll see if things play out a little more evenly here in the second. Curry has been sensational. And if he can keep shooting from deep like he did in the first half, he’s going to be more than a handful. And let’s see if the D adjust make life a little more difficult on him. And on the floor for Steve Curry as we get into the second half. In the back court, we’ll see Curry and Pajki. Buddy Heield is out there with Jimmy Butler. And it’s Green in at the five. And the basket by Curry. Got the defender on his heels right there. and Curry capitalized. What a finish. Donic against Curry. That one goes in. Donic has got 26. Unwilling to let up even for a moment. That’s his killer instinct. Just fanning the flames. Always plays hard until the final whistle no matter what the situation is. Back to Curry. Lets it go with a three. A three-pointer is right on target. Curry’s got 30. And this is the game plan for him. He’s a big part of their floor spacing. Yeah, you got to know where he is at all times, especially when he’s roaming around the perimeter ready to fire. Reeves the pass to Donic. Five to shoot. Pulls up off the left rim and out. Warriors trail by 13. Inside, here’s Herz and the rejection by James. Pass to Donic. James outside. Here’s Hatchima. Drains the three-pointer. Hachimura has got seven points in the game. And we know Hachimura has a confident personality. You see it there with the rise and fire approach. Nice with it. Some nice passing by Golden State. A 19 ft shot. That one falls. That’s now 32 points for Stephen Curry. Somebody Somebody help this man. Get this man some help out there. He’s doing everything he can to keep his team in the game. And here’s Donic from the arc. That one’s not going to go. Not quite enough defense that time around. Just lucky he was off. Richard with Buddy Heel. We’re talking about one of the best shooters in the NBA. No question. He is a marksman. He’s going to have to be a mercenary though. He is the type of an outside threat that every team needs. I don’t care what the offensive system is. Buddy Hill will find a way to score. And all you got to do is look at the rebounding margin as to why they hold the lead. They’re limiting the offensive possessions for the other team. Tough to win with no extra possessions. Warriors trail by 14. Three minutes gone now in the third quarter. Curry is inside. Guarded by Donic. Curry can’t get it to go. And so Donic will bring it up for the Lakers. Hatchima finds James. Back to Hatchima. And here’s Donic from the arc. The rebound by Heel. Oh man, for whatever reason, he can’t get it going from three. And he’s pretty good from there. Oh, Butler draining the three. And down in the corners, Butler can be dangerous. He’s pretty comfortable with that shot. Bounce pass from Reeds. LeBron passes to Donic. Good. And the assist goes to LeBron. Donic has got 29 on the game. The wheel come at us and we’re coming right back at you. Yeah, I love the competitive fire right there. You drain a triple on us and I’m coming for my revenge. And so Steve Kerr calls for the timeout. He wants to talk to his guys. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat up here. Heat. Heat. heel finds Green overton and it’s Green missing. He is singlehandedly dropping the temperature in here with that cold streak. Yeah, right now he’s just in his own head. Not much you can do to try and push through it. And that one’s good. Aton smooth shooting from the mid-range. Eightton knows when to look to score from there. Pass to Hurt now. Heel James defending and there’s the basket. Whistle blows and a chance for a three-point play going to the line for one. That is a perfect placement of that dime. Just guided it right to him. And guys, let’s get your take on the scoring breakdown for the Lakers. I like how they’ve been attacking the lane. It’s been beautiful all game long. They’ve been successful penetrating and getting offensive production. And the other thing that stands out is just how well they have moved the ball. Everyone’s touching it and having a chance to create. And healed. No good on that one. Guys like Buddy Hill, knock down shooters, they are in high demand around the And it’s Donic missing. And that was a little bit of a range check for him. Yeah, he might have been feeling himself a little too much on that one. He can hit it, but not consistent. To the middle. Here’s Curry. Played in with a nice touch off the glass. Curry’s got nine points here in the second half. The better shooter you are, the quicker you become. Curry makes it so hard to guard him in these little moments. He slips past the defense. Pass eight and beyond the arc. Curry with the rebound. Warriors trail by 12. Healed outside. Outside Curry good on the shot and that shaves the lead to single digits. Curry’s got 12 now in this quarter. Another bomb for him right now. His three-point shooting might be the key to cutting that lead. Absolutely. And they have to continue to go to him. And here’s from the arc. Good. And the assist goes to LeBron. James has got three assists in the game. And here is Curry. 37 points for him. Cloud finish by Stephen Curry. And that’s just an taking advantage of some soft defense on that drive. Little resistance for him on the way to the basket. And now the latest from our reporter David Aldridge. Kevin, thanks. For the NBA, content continues to be king. Commissioner Adam Silver says the biggest issue for streaming services is what’s called churn. To cancel is just a click. So it’s more pay for play these days. We have to focus on people staying with you and having great content throughout the year, Kevin. Yeah, you know, he’s doing a great job, isn’t he, David? Thank you so much. And so, Steve Kerr calls for the timeout. He’s ready to talk things through with the team. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. And the Lakers making a change here. The Rabies checked in. Moody’s checked in for the Warriors. And it’s Curry with the ball, bringing it up for the Warriors. A 12-point game. Pass to hurt. And here is Green. He’s covered by eight. Shot clock at five. Here’s the three. Gdonic grabs the miss. Donic has got rebound number seven for him tonight and the rebound goes to the Warriors. Here’s Hurt and he makes the bucket. Gets the whistle and now a three-point play chance here for him. And the sheer muscle from Butler. I mean a solid finisher even when he gets hit. Three trips to the line so far for him in this one. And when you shoot 86 from the line like he did last season, you usually cash in on those opportunities. What’s up, Lakers leading by nine. outside the Trey Warriors with the rebound. Her got his fourth rebound in this one. Curry can’t get it to go. Lakers have drawn six of 14 since halftime. A little cold from the field. Reeves the pass to Aton offline with his three. Warriors trail by nine. Driving in a shot by Pensky. No good. And Los Angeles guys uh shooting an outstanding 53% for the game. Out of bounds. Golden State takes possession. And we have to take another glance at that powerful rejection. And boy did he get up quick to reject that shot. That’s as fundamental as defense gets. And it’s the Warriors with the ball. Well, Richard, you were a teammate of LeBron James’s, winning a title in Cleveland with him, playing with LeBron. What was something you learned about his game and about him? Well, I learned that he takes the greatness that has been stowed upon him as a gift and it is a curse that he understands how to handle both. Here’s Laorabia. He’s got five. If a floater, he lays it in. Bonic has got 36. Making the floater look this smooth is not as easy as it looks. It’s a challenging shot. And Curry has it in the corner. And the call on the shot that sends him to the line. This just demonstrates how fearless Curry is. Look, he knows how to get inside and draw plenty of fouls. The Warriors have gone seven of nine from the free throw line tonight. Take a break. Take a break. Two shots. First free throw is good. What you appreciate most about Curry is his confidence, especially when it comes to how far he can connect from. Stephen Curry hits them both. Los Angeles leading by seven. Bass to Lorravia and a wide open look for James. Hangs home the trifecta. LeBron’s got 11 points. When you’re guarding LeBron, you have to give him something. So the King, well, he’ll take a three-point basket. Outside cur. Here’s Post. He’s covered by Post misses the shot. Lakers shooting 47% from the field in the third. LeBron passes to Labraia. Lakers passing it around. No one near Reeves as he lets it go. Yes, it’s LeBron picking up the assist. LeBron’s got four assists in the game. Pass to Pajki. Here’s Post from deep. It’s rebounded by Donic. Donic has got rebound number eight here tonight in the game. James the pass to Reeds and the basket is good and he’s got a chance here for one more at the line. Yeah, letting it rip. They’re just having fun right now. Man, their offense is clicking. Players, coaches, everybody. They are in sync. I know Reeves has been accused of hunting fouls before, Richard. Uh do you see that? Oh, I don’t know if it’s all on Reeves. It’s just the way the game is played. Great players learn how to put you in position to foul them. The goal of the game is to score. And if that’s hunting fouls, then hunt away. Warriors trail by 16. Here’s Her. He’s got 15. And a T3 from Curry. An absolute bomb from three-point range. Even a half court shot is a good shot for Curry. That’s how good of a shooter he is. There’s the pick. Donic outside. Shoots over Curry. And it’s Donic missing. You can’t look at the result of that shot. They’ll take that whenever they get it. Yeah, it’s a great look for him. One they’ll try and manufacture. Again, those are the shots you want him to take. Third shot is good. And that’s the ball movement you’re looking for. And Butler drills it. And so Donic will bring it up for the Los Angeles Lakers. Shoots over Curry. A nice shot by Donic. Donic has got 38 points. Operation feed the horse. Feed him early and often. And guess what? It’s working. They have the lead. Pass to Curry from downtown. Gets it to go from beyond the arc. Curry’s got 49 points in the game. I mean, what can we say about Steph’s jumper that hadn’t already been said. Reeves the pass to Donic. Takes the three. The Warriors pull it in. Post has got six rebounds here tonight. There’s 48 seconds left to play in the third. Curry outside. That shot is off. And you could tell he thought that triple was going to fall. Bounce pass from Reeds. Connect. No good. Warriors trail by 10. 23 seconds left to play here in the third. Pass to Curry over Reeves and a miss there with a chance to cut the lead to single digits. 16 ft away and it’s good off the glass. Freeze has got eight points in the quarter and nice job taking what the defenders gave him. These guys need a gut check right now. Yeah, you’d love to see a little bit more fire on defense. do any fire on defense. They can’t just be giving the game away. And here at the end of the third quarter, it’s a double-digit ball game. Lakers lead by 12. 2K Sports back in a moment here in Los Angeles. While we have the chance now, folks, let’s go to our State Farm assist of the game. and he sliced the D wide open with his feed. They had no chance to permit that basket. That’s an unguardable pass flat out. Give him credit for possessing that type of vision. And there have been two very different performances from these teams today. As we get going in quarter number four, they’ve got Vincent Jared Vanderbilt out there with Hatchima and it’s LeBron James and it’s Labraia in the small forward. That’s the Laker five. And Richard, you’ve watched LeBron James over the years. His approach never waivers. It never changes. He is all business all the time on the court, off the court. The consistency of his focus and mental toughness is unbelievable. Free throw good. James, what I appreciate about LeBron is how much he loves being a leader. He knows how much his teammates count on him. No good on the second free throw. Warriors trail by 13. Here’s Curry and it’s Labradia with the rebound. LeBron outside. Pass to Hatchima. Here’s Vincent. Buries the long range jumper and the Lakers lead by 16. The man has no heart. And that’s poor defense for a team that has a long way to catch up. Effort like this makes you wonder if they’ve already packed it in for the game, ready to go on to the next. Got to at least show a little heart out here. A shot by Curry. No good. Los Angeles leading by 16. James finds Vincent out to the wing. Lakers passing it around. Vanderbilt a screen on Curry. Vincent misses. The Warriors shooting pretty good tonight at 48%. Pass to Curry. And here is Moody. Uses the glass to finish the way up. And you’re not going to pass up that kind of LA’s gone one and two from three-point range here in the fourth. Here’s Vincent guarded by Kirk. LeBron outside takes the 13-footer. They get it again. Warriors trail by 14 outside. Curry. First quarter of play. About 2 minutes in now. And the dunk to finish it off. A beauty. And the basketball IQ that Curry possesses is special. Capable of shredding the defense in a screen roll. LeBron outside. James absolutely owning the inside. When you allow good scorers to get uncontested shots at the rim, no wonder you’re losing. That’s a great possession. Put your best players in a position to succeed. He loss up the LU pass. An emphatic Lu jam. And maybe that’ll trigger them. Impossible not to get pumped up after that. Yeah. Well, you can see the immediate reaction of the guys on the bench. They are pumped up. Here’s LeBron. It’s in and good for his sixth field goal in 10 attempts. Look, one thing that you can count on is LeBron James to find you points. He’s got a go-to move for just about any offensive situation. Here’s Jackson Davis. He’s covered by Hatchim. Connects again from distance. Buries his 10th triple of the game. Unbelievable. Here’s Vincent guarded by Ker and we’re about 3 and 1/2 minutes into the fourth quarter. kicks it out to James over Moody and LeBron with the basket. The exist by Hatchima. LeBron’s got seven points here in the sport. I like this wrinkle. Put LeBron off the ball and then make a play for him. Pass to post outside curl puts up a deep three. Aim grabs the miss. Hatchim’s got six rebounds here tonight in Zen Pines James. Now here is Hi Murray and it’s blocked. Now here’s Curry defended by Vincent. Santos no good. Lakers leading by 13. Benson with it. Pass to Hatchima and the three off target. Here’s Santos. Here’s Moody. There’s the drive. Great D that time from James. And so it’s Himura who brings up the ball for Los Angeles. At one point they led by 16. Here’s Vincent back to Hatchima. Good on the triple. Just solid with the jump shot. Himaura helps your offense in a number of ways. In that case, spacing the floor. Curry. Pass it to Santos. And they call the foul. So a chance at the line for one more coming up. And that’s how you lead a team, literally. And some changes here for the Lakers. Payton, he’s checked in for Vanderbilt. Austin Reeves comes in for Ruie Hatchima. And Luca Donuch subbed in for Vincent. Lakers leading by 13. Reeves outside to the inside. James crowbars it in. And look, a coach is going to trust LeBron James to just put up monster numbers cuz that’s who he is. But it is nice to see him get into a nice groove like this. Back to Curry. Nice pass right under him to the rack perfectly for the layup. Curry’s got 54 points. The Lakers have gone six of 11 since the start of the fourth quarter. LeBron James on the wing and another basket for the Lakers. Getting that little bit of help, James calls for the pick and roll, shake up the defense, and find himself a quality look. Curry outside and another one falls and he’s been dominant here thus far. Shouldering the offense GA really taking it to the opposition. Pass to Labraia. Called in the jam by Eaton. Goodness DeAndre Aiden. Welcome to the highlight reel. Warriors trail by 14. Here’s Hurt. Here’s Santos. Pass to Curry. Down to five on the shot clock. Over Donic. The shot by Curry. No good. Los Angeles leading by 14. And here’s James outside. And he’s good on the three ball. LeBron’s got 17 points here in the second half. Warriors have gone some of 13 from the field here in the fourth. Here’s Santos. James covering. Here’s Santos. A clear look for Curry. And it’s Aiden with the rebound. Eightton’s got rebound number 15 here tonight to the paint and foul on the shot. He’ll shoot two at the free throw line and it goes on Draymond Green. This guy is so tough to cover all over the floor. Aiden can score in so many different areas. that free throw no good. A double double machine who can also block shots. You won’t find many centers with eight size and talent. Hatchima, he’s checked in for the Lakers. Honey, he’s checked in for Golden State. And he sinks the second. And so it’s Golden State with it. They trail by 18. Pass to Penski. Back to Curry. Launches a three and yet another basket. 60 points. This guy cannot be stopped. They’ve had no answer for him in this one. Dashic finds Reeves to the middle. It’s stolen by Green. And here’s the fast break. James against Teal. pass to Curry and the rejection by Eaton. So difficult to shoot over eight proving it with that rejection and so Donic will bring it up for the Los Angeles Lakers and led by as many as 18 points. James in the post. He’s defended by Pompki. And here’s Reeves outside. Good. And the assist goes to James. This selfless attitude of James. When someone on his team has a clean look, well, he feeds it. Pass to Penski. Back to Curry. Hits it again. Wow. That’s 62 points. 62. Amazing. A remarkable performance from him so far. And two free throws coming up. Unable to get that one to go with all the contact. Free throw good. Reeves. He makes one of two that time. Eighton sets the pick for Reeves. And again, Los Angeles with a triple. Kick works well there. Not much resistance from the deep. Yeah, that just comes down to a lack of effort. The defender has to do a better job fighting through the screen. And so Steve Kerr calls for the timeout. Clearly, he’s got something his players need to hear. And immediately Heat. Heat. Heat up here. And now we present our New Balance player of the game, Luca Donuch. And guys, no doubt who our pick is going to be. He’s made everyone else on the court look like they’re playing at half speed. It’s been total domination, and you can’t help but just sit back and admire that performance. He sure has given this crowd a treat tonight. This kind of performance always cementss his status as a fan favorite. Warriors trail by 20 now. Pajimki inside Kirk and he banks in the layup. That’s just smart basketball right there. Finding a way to get a high percentage shot on offense. Reeves outside pass to Donic. Reeves with a screen on Curry. And here’s Donic from the arc. Warriors with the rebound. 157 left here in the fourth quarter. Here’s covered by LeBron. Five on the clock. down low. Here’s Curry. It’s rebounded by Donic. Donic has got nine rebounds in the game. Getting it done. James in the high post working on Green. Reeves outside. Atone fires from 14. Reeves gets the bucket. Reeves has got 19 points. Yes. And with this one winding down, it’s obvious to everyone who watched it, just a total mismatch and a true show of strength for the Lakers. You don’t see this kind of a blowout often, but tonight, this is a quality win across the board to deliver out uh this kind of punishment. They definitely never changed the approach. They just kept after it and showed they were clearly the better team in just about every single category. and one of the league’s top talents game in and game out and doing it here again in this one. A terrific night for Luca Donic. I think people could learn a lot from how versatile he was in this one. Whatever the situation was, he found a way to be a difference maker. And so James will bring it up for Los Angeles. Pass to Hatchima. 36 seconds left in the fourth quarter of this one at the top of the key. Eaton over Green Los Angeles and it’s just competing and you know giving your best when it matters most and let me tell you as a team you love to hit your stride right at the crucial moments. They put this game away in style. Heel dishes to Kurt to the right side. Here’s Herz uncovered. And so it’s the Lakers taking care of business here. And the outcome of this one was never in doubt. And boy, they really put in a supreme effort. I it just felt like once they had that lead and it was comfortable, they were not going to relinquish it. And now let’s catch up with David Aldrich who’s standing by from the sideline. All right, Dave. Thanks very much, LeBron. In the fourth quarter, were you looking to be aggressive? Yeah, I just try to close the game out. You know, my teammates look for me in the fourth quarter to close the game out with my scoring and just my playmaking ability. So, uh, you know, to be able to go out there and come through for it means a lot. I know they’re used to it by now, but I know you’re still happy with the win. Congrats. Back to you. Thanks so much, David. And that’ll do it, folks. For Richard Jefferson, Greg Anthony, and David Aldridge, this is Kevin Harland thanking you for watching tonight’s game on 2K Sports. And as we leave you, let’s take a look at our player of the game, Luca Donuch. Well, the center position is obviously a point of strength for both of these teams. Brent, do you believe BA that these guys are coming in and not thinking about that very same thing? These guys want to test each other tonight. And you wonder whoever gets the best of the other guy, will that elevate the next couple weeks of play for them in terms of their confidence. So, a big man battle. Let’s keep a close eye on him. The starters for the Golden State Warriors, Curry and Pods, make up the back court. Jimmy Butler out there with Buddy Heel. And it’s Green and at the center position. Aimura finds Reeves. James outside to the middle. Here’s Aidton and he’ll draw the foul. He’ll head to the line for two. And Eightton has done such a good job of staying focused and really staying in his lane to make the contributions that he does. Los Angeles shooting their first free throws of the game. shooting two. And he drops a first. Aiden hits them both. Makes it pretty tough on the defense. Who you going to pick to send to the free throw line? And he’s hitting the free throws right now. Form looks good. Gives us a chance to catch up with Alli Leforce. I did briefly speak with JJ Reic. I asked him about Jimmy Butler and what his defensive scheme is for him. And coach said to not let him bully us from the interior and mid-range. We want to push him as far out as possible. We have to play tough. Let’s see if they’re able to accomplish this, guys. And Alli, thank you for that. And he makes it. The size and strength of Donic can go overlooked. I mean, he’s more than capable of scoring there in the paint. Curry passes to Green Outside. Pajki. Pass to Hurt. Five on the clock. A shot from the high post. Nice start for him. Sinking his first shot. If Butler can’t get into the paint, he’s got some offensive options. He has the touch from the mid-range now. Well into his 30s. Is it fair to start wondering how many seasons Jimmy Butler has left, Grant? Well, it’s a fair question, BA, but at the same time, Jimmy’s hunger is just so different than everybody else’s, which I could see helping prolong his career. Outside, Pajki pass to Green. Got a piece of it and stolen by Reeds. Donic outside. Clock at six, bearing his second of three attempts. Oh my, tight defense, but Donuts just muscles it in. And Curry’s got the ball here for Golden State. Trailing by four from downtown. Sinks the tray. Curry’s got five. You don’t want to let him get into a rhythm from out there. Pass to Donic Aton. A screen on Curry to the paint. Bam. Aton with the stuff. DeAndre Aton dangerous in the pick and roll just because as a big he can get off of that screen so easily. And Steve Kerr calls timeout. He’s going to talk it over with his guys. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heel passes. is to Curry back to heel pass to hurt over Ashimura hits the front of the rim and out. Good shot gone bad. Got to finish there. James passes to Achimura. Jimmy Butler with a rebound. And even though he couldn’t send the shot back at him, he certainly altered it. Yeah, that’s the kind of energy that you want to see on every possession throughout the game. The Lakers lead by three outside. Reeves pass to Aimura. Gets the three ball to go. Yeah, this is a tough one to figure out cuz Ruie hitting the three that makes him really difficult to check. Curry passes to Heel. Here’s Hurt Curry from deep three-point land. And again, no good by Golden State. Not sure how he finds himself in so much space there. He’s kicking himself for whiffing a bit on that one. Nachimura finds James. Now Reeves sets a screen. Here’s Donic. Got it from about 16 ft. Gotchaic just got six. And there’s Luca, one of the most entertaining players in the league. Over to the wing. Here’s her. Aimura covering the three from Curry. And so the ball out of bounds. Aiden touched it last. Curry. He’s open and he didn’t get quite enough under that one. That’s a shocker there. Did not expect him to miss from that range. He’s got to be shooting close to 60% from it. Count it. Give him eight points now. They’re locked in and focus on making each possession a success. That’s exactly how they got the lead. They ended up having multiple possessions in a row with good quality shots. Knocked them down and game is fully in their control. The screener was leaning a bit right there. His feet may not have been planted. Pretty obvious call by the officials. Got to hold firm or you’re going to get a call. Larabi has checked in for the Lakers. Now Los Angeles with it. They’re on a 17-7 run. Donic passes to Reeves. The Warriors pull it in. You’re not going to see that very often. defense in the vicinity, but still he’s not one to blow layups. Now, BA, you know, they would love for him to get more of those opportunities. Well, that would cut into the deficit quickly if he does outside. Reevesky grabs the board. Warriors trail by eight. Outside Green pass to Hurt. Outside Green. Six on the shot clock. Pajimsky with it. Launches it. Sends it home from three-point land. Wow. What a setup there. Green plays with great speed and plays with great pace. And that’s a nice field play. outside Reeves. Donic outside and the layup is good off the glass. Donic has got 10 points. One of the more skilled offensive players that is on the floor here tonight. Not an easy fella to hold in check. Rejected by James. Big time swat LeBron James making his presence felt. It’s Pajki on the wing and stolen by Reeves down low and it’s Larabia missing. Warriors trail by seven. Here’s Pajki and that one goes in as he’s fouled. It’ll be three points if he converts the free throw. All right, a moment to look at the scoring approach in terms of where the points are coming from here for the Lakers. Well, they found their offensive openings in the mid-range and they continue to find ways to open up those jump shot opportunities. Getting to the inside is really important, but it’s how close you can get to the basket. It feels like these guys are all around the rim in their attack tonight. And the free throw no good. Los Angeles leading by five. And here’s Donic outside. Kajjimsky grabs the board and lock down defense against one of the best three-point shooters in the league to the inside. Moody has to hurt Green with a screen on James. Here’s Green’s covered by Eaton. Now here is James. Here’s the Rivia back to James from behind the ark. Sinks it from distance. James has got his second bucket. When LeBron’s shooting like that, nothing you can do defensively. And Steve Kerr calls timeout. He wants to give him a breather and talk things over. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. And so it’s Green who brings up the ball for the Warriors. Eight-point game. Here’s Heield and all around the rim that time before dropping. Yeah, for guards who are young players in the NBA, finishing around the rim is always a focus at this level. Nice job by Heel Derek. Now, here’s Donic. 10 points for him. And so, it’s going to be a 3second violation there on the defense. And he’ll be shooting his first free throw. Find the lanes. Find the lane. One shot. And the Warriors making a change here. Here’s Labraia covered by Jackson Davis. Six to shoot. Gets his second attempt to go. Now he’s one for two. They’re punishing those late defensive rotations. Getting good looks inside throughout the half. Warriors trail by nine. guarded by Donic. Pass to Hurt. Let’s go with a three and the three-pointer goes. Herz’s got seven points. Nice to see Butler drain the three ball. Just really opens up the rest of his game. Payton, the rebound by Post. Well, you could tell right there he just wanted to go for the jam, but the defense too good and distracting. Time now to hear from our reporter Ally Leforce. Brian, the Warriors play a unique style predicated on passing and cutting off the ball. Stephen Curry said the main goal is to just force the defense to make as many decisions as you can. So with all that ball movement and body movement, they’re going to mess up at some point. Brian, well, it helps having a weapon like Stephen Curry. Thanks, Ally. Here’s Donic following the score by Golden State. And Aon with the stuff. Does it feel good as a big man like Aton to throw it down? You bet it does. Warriors trail by six. Check by James. Pass to post out to the right wing. Lets it go. Rebound the Lakers. And here’s Donic. 10 points for him. Vincent passes to James. Here’s Aiden. That bucket makes him three for five. You got to try to get Aiden out farther away. When you don’t, this is what’s going to happen. He’s just too big and just too good. Here’s Hurt and he got the whistle on the way up. So, he’ll be headed to the line for a pair. I like that. I mean, some physical play inside. He’s not about to give up any easy baskets. These are his first free throws of the game. First one falls for him. Jimmy Butler and his energy is something that is infectious for his team. He gets his squad so energized to work through the toughest moments of the game. And the Warriors making a change here. Curry’s checked in. And that one goes in. Two from the line that time. That’s what he does. Rock solid at the line. outside Reeves. A minute and a half left in the first quarter here. The rebound by Moody. Warriors trail by six. Right wing. This one for three and Post gets it to go. It feels like Steph doesn’t even have to look. He just knows where his teammates are. Los Angeles has gone two for four from range to start things off. Outside Reeves pass to Vanderbilt. It’s rebounded by Golden State outside. Moody. Here’s Post outside. booty. Here’s her and it’s Labraia with a rebound now. 8 seconds separating the two clocks. Here’s Reeves. The rebound by Moody. Warriors trail by three. And he lobbs it up to the rim. Hammers the lob through. Great teamwork and great timing. Oh, spectacular play. Now here’s Reeves. Moody defends. Now Reeves inside. Here’s Vanderbilt. And Vanderbilt slams it in. And I love how he’s pushing the tempo and creating for others. He does this game in and game out. Incredible. Nice to play with a point guard that takes pride in the playmaking. It makes you move around just a little bit faster to get open spots. Oh, what a performance by Luca Donuch. He has been the story for Los Angeles. He put together 10 points in the quarter. And more NBA action on 2K Sports coming your way right after this. And it’s been a pretty even game here after one quarter of play. And from what we’ve seen from the Lakers, what’s your take so far? You can really see the strategy coming in. Get the ball into the painted area. Yeah, you don’t see that all that often, getting down there and doing that much damage in a quarter. You got to respect the game plan. Well, Grant, you played on some very tight-knit teams. Talk to us about chemistry. Well, BA, you know, in some sports, chemistry is not a big issue, but in basketball, it is huge. You have to trust and believe in your teammates, and it has to be a unit, not five separate individuals. They’ve got connect Gabe Vincent up there with Austin Reeds. Then there’s Jared Vanderbilt. And it’s Larabia and at the power forward position. That’s who’s in the game for the Lakers. Reeves with a screen on Curry. Here’s Vincent. And it’s Stephan Curry with the rebound. Warriors trail by three. Fires for three. And Reeves pulls it down. Reeves has got his fourth rebound in this one. Pass to Larabia. Now here’s Vincent to the inside and Vanderbilt slams it in. Nice one-handed jam. Simple and effective. Ba. Hey, with the lead. I’m surprised he didn’t come up with something a little more creative. Outside Curry from the ark. That won’t go either for Curry. Los Angeles leading by five. Here’s Connect. Hasn’t gotten one to fall yet. Vanderbilt with a screen. Here’s Reeves. And the Lakers tack on two more. Easy look when the defender isn’t fighting over the screen. Yeah, the coach over there just asking for one simple thing and that’s some effort. Got burned on that one. Here’s Curry. Oh, a strong finish from Curry. That’s tremendous balance. Steph’s ability to keep his composure in that tough situation, work in a tight space. That’s impressive. Back to Vincent. Reeves with a screen on Curry down low. Oh, it’s blocked. It deflects off the backboard. Here’s Santos. Pass to Jackson Davis. Shot clock at five. Post and it’s good. Assisting on the play was Curry. Post has got six. It does so much out there to stretch out the defense when he’s out on the perimeter and he drains the triple. And here’s Reeves outside to the left wing. And here’s connect outside. The Warriors pull it in outside. Moody pass to post. over connect and off the front iron and in it goes. Give him eight. You have to appreciate guys who can work the mid-range area. It’s clearly how you keep defense is honest. Oh man, that is just easy for him out there at his size with that kind of touch. That is money. To the paint. Here’s connect and he goes strong with the one-handed jab. Now that’s how you capitalize on a screen. Yeah, good positioning too. Gave him a clear path to the hoop. Really not enough help there. Lack of communication on the backside. Moody misses. The Lakers have gone three for seven here in the second quarter. Blocked out of bounds as Los Angeles keeps possession. And it’s time to take another look at that powerful block. What a powerful rejection. He’s not wanting them to get an advantage in this competitive game. And some changes here for the Warriors. Green comes in for Jackson Davis and Pajki subbed in for Santos. And just over 3 and 1/2 minutes played here in the second quarter. It’s clear he’s totally out of sync. The team needs to rethink its strategy around what to do with him. Grant, when you look at Draymond Green’s career, you think he’s going to the Hall of Fame? You know, BA, I believe so. He’s won multiple titles and we know how impactful he has been as a defender and distributor especially. I think we’ll see him in Springfield one day. And it’s out of bounds. The Lakers able to retain possession here. It’s time to take a glance again at that superb block. What a play. I mean, that’ll have the offense thinking twice about taking shots in his presence. And so it’s the Lakers with it. They’ve led by as much as 10. Shot clock at six. Here’s Reeves. The Warriors pull it in. and he just hasn’t been able to get it going this period. No, I haven’t seen him in in comfortable spots or at least spots we’ve seen in this offensive set that are allowing him to settle in. Money. Stephen Curry, the three-point king. A good strategy here from the coaching staff. Put the ball in Curry’s hands and see what happens. Usually ends up being pretty good. outside Reeves and misses it off the right side of the rim. I mean, he’s trying to shoot his way out of what’s becoming a prolonged cold streak. Yeah, he’s got to move on. Forget about this sequence here and and try to find a way to get on the board. And Los Angeles making a change here. Vanderbilt’s checked in. Lakers trail by three. Pass to Aimura. James outside. Reeves. It’s stolen. Oh, what a fast break for the Warriors. There’s Pajinski. It’s deflected. And here is Green. Tries again. No good that time. Hachi Mura with the defensive effort to the middle and Vanderbilt slams it in. We talk a lot about the monster games that LeBron James has and putting bunch of points on the board, but sometimes we just forget about how brilliant a playmaker and passer he is. Pass to Moody. Back to Green. Just five to shoot into the lane. Drummond Green using some speed, at least a little speed burst on that play to get the defense on its heels. And a chance for a moment to check out the scoring breakdown for the Warriors. Well, in today’s NBA, the three-point shot is so valuable. They realize this and that’s why they’re continuing to drain as many as they can. Love the passing that they displayed at the start of the game. Great ball movement that’s opening up some chances without really getting deep into the execution. And the first one at the line is good. And the fire that Draymond Green plays with, I think, is the most admirable quality. Knows how to get himself and his teammates going throughout the course of a long grinding 82 game season. And the Lakers making a change here. Donic checked in. Jimmy Butler’s checked in for the Warriors. He comes in for Moody. That one falls. So he hits both of them. Lakers trail by three. Donic passes to Aimura. Back to Donic over Curry and it’s Donic missing. Golden State has gone six of 14 from the perimeter tonight. The three is up. Rebound the Lakers. Aimura with the ball. Donic deciding where to go with it. Pass to Aimura now. Here’s Vanderbilt. Six on the shot clock. The Lakers got to get one up. Late clock. LeBron buries a three. Well, LeBron is a guy who can score from anywhere. He’s comfortable taking long range shots. And so it’s Green who brings up the ball for the Warriors. Outside Curry and that comes off the assist by Green. Curry’s got 12 points in the game. Nice offense here. Close in. Great bet to go outside. Reeves back to Donic. Donic is doubled. Pass to Achimurro. There’s the triple and the rebound goes to the Warriors. Curry’s got his fourth rebound in this one. Pulls it from 20. Out to Heel. The three is up. Nails it from three. He’s gotten his second bucket of the game. Wow. He has a beautiful release on his shot right there. just barely off of his fingertips and buttery soft. James outside and he can’t answer back. The three-pointer offline pass to Hurt back to Heel. Oh, and there’s the whistle on the shot. So, two free throws for him coming. It’s on LeBron James. Buddy right there trying to score and forcing the issue a bit. It’s his first trip to the line. That’s good from Heel. And Heel is a player who you love to see take trips to the free throw line as consistent as he is there. Hayes is checked in for the Lakers. Connect comes in for Reeves and Golden State also making a switch. Moody’s checked in for Curry. That one’s no good. Lakers trail by six. Taken away. Pass break. Here we go. Here’s Pajki. And a foul called on the way up. So he’ll take two from the free throw line. The first free throw is good. and so he hits both. Lakers trail by eight. Donic passes to James. The shot is good. Donic making the play. Donic has got three assists now in this one. This has been proven. It’s a scientific fact. It’s hard to stop LeBron James from scoring. And Steve Kerr calls timeout here. I think right now he must be looking at some adjustments. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Oh, the stars are out in LA. Hands shining. How about Sway Lee with the drip? Oh, a trends setter and a go-getter. Shining bright indeed. outside. Pajki out to Heel. Pass to Hurt. Butler so crafty around the rim. The defenders are trying to keep pace with Jimmy Butler, but there’s enough space for him to spot the rim and knock it down. Back to Donic. James outside. This shot is good. Donic making the play. James has got nine points now in the quarter. Just incredible. I mean, he’s really making it rain out there, knocking them down one after another. Kind of like he’s in his living room right now. He’s found a comfort zone. Once he gets that, the defense knows they’re in trouble. Ooh, good work on the interior from Butler. And this is the type of score that Jimmy Butler can be, especially when he’s getting to his spots. Has to connect. Here’s Donic. fires from deep. Rebounded by Green and I’m surprised that didn’t go down. I mean, I’m sure he is too. To the inside, James with a steal. And here’s connect outside and the rebound goes to the Warriors. Green’s got rebound number seven tonight. Right side heel. Doesn’t go that time. Aima with the defensive effort. has to connect. Donic with it. Guarded by heels. Donic is doubled. Nachimura from long range. He drops it from range. Aimura’s got six. Mura already had that shot lined up. The Warriors lead by three now. Healed. Here’s Hurt. 13 points in the game. Pass to Pajimsky. Puts up a three. Rebounded by LeBron. Los Angeles has got six out of 15 threes so far in this game. Donic outside. Here’s Connect. A Himura outside takes a three. Kimky grabs the board. And this is exactly who you want taking that shot. He just missed it. Takes the contact and delivers. Jimmy Butler. That is a tough two right there from Butler. Really his calling card. Rugged play and 100% effort. And he’s going for the youth here. It’s stolen by Green and the Warriors pushing it up now. Butler finishes the job. Great activity defensively. Draymond Green keeping the arms moving. Plugs up the passing lanes. James outside. 24 seconds left in the second quarter. Donic good. The Warriors lead by four. Here’s her. 17 points in the game. He can’t get that one to fall. healed against Hachimura. Donic right side and here’s connect outside. Jimmy Butler getting it done for the Warriors. Eight points in the quarter showing how effective he can be. And don’t go far. We’ll be right back. And after a fairly even first couple of quarters, this second half could turn out to be a great one as both teams trying to gain an edge. It has been one outstanding game from Jimmy Butler. He’s been dominating down low. Got to assume they’ll keep feeding him the rock. Oh man, pouring it on right now. And why wouldn’t you? And so Curry will bring it up for the Warriors. They lead by four on the floor for the Warriors. Curry and Pods make up the back court. Buddy Heield is out there with Jimmy Butler and it’s Green in at the five spot and he gets it back. It’s Reeves with the drive. The shot’s good on the assist by James. Reeves has got his second basket of the game. And James, another dime that gets dropped. Someone that just loves involving his teammates. pass to Hurt. Goes to the reverse layup and drops it in. Hurt’s got 19 points. His nimleness makes him a unique threat at the rim. Now here’s Donic for three. Rebounded by Heield outside Green to the paint from seven. Oh, nice job in the paint from Curry. I mean, that should be a tough shot with contact, but not for Steph Curry, I guess. Machimura outside. James outside. LeBron gets the bucket inside. And it looks like a change in LeBron’s demeanor out there. He’s going in the scoring mode. And from the sideline, let’s catch up with Allie. Hey, Brian. No surprise here. Stephen Curry hopes to be a Warrior for life. He said, “Being a part of a group of legends that have played for one franchise, established a culture and one at the highest level, and did it with a lot of different roster combinations. I don’t ever take that for granted.” Ryan, what a run. Yeah, it is a great run. And he’s been the foundation. Ally, thank you. Take a break. Take a break. Two shots. First one falls. He’s perfect from the line this time. Lakers trail by six. Donic passes to Reeves. And the defense make it too easy for LeBron. James can’t let him get that close. Pass to Hurt. Now healed. Checked by James. Green. A screen. Here’s Hurt. And the baseline jumper goes down. Her got 23. He’s been shooting with great consistency tonight. Love to see that confident play on offense. Here’s Aiden. The shot is good. Donic making the play. Donic has got six assists now in the game. And Steve Kerr calls timeout here. He’s going to gather the troops and talk it over. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. A little under two and a half minutes gone by in the third quarter. And here’s Curry. He’s got 14 rebound by the Lakers. Payton’s got his fourth rebound in this one. Well, friend, it’s been a blessing to watch Stephen Curry in real time, but he’s the kind of player his highlights will stand the test of time for years. the best shooter that’s ever played the game. Yes, it’s been a real treat, BA, to watch all of that happen, but credit to Steph. The early part of his career, shaky with the injuries, the confidence never wavered, and then all of a sudden, behind these magical hands, the game had changed. Donic against Curry outside. Reeves down low. It’s stolen by Green in transition. Here come the Warriors. Here’s Pajinsky. Off with the layup. And here’s Donic. He’ll bring it up for the Lakers on the wing. Reeves defended by Pajki. Back to Donic beyond the arc. The Luca three. Money. Encouraging to see Donic sink the three. needs to keep doing this now. Has to hurt. Curry with it from deep. Strains the triple. Curry’s got seven points here in the quarter. Oh, you got to love the back and forth. Showing real confidence at the arc. Yeah, both teams finding ways to the three-point line and trying to take advantage from distance. Now here’s Dantic. He’s covered by Curry. Cuts off the pass. Here’s Hurt Achimurra with a rebound. Aimura’s got five rebounds tonight. Pass to Reeves. Oh, they get a hand on it and that’s out of bounds. The Lakers will retain possession. gets rebounded by Golden State. Herz’s got rebound number five here tonight. Inside Draymond. Oh, such a force inside. Oh, Draymond Green with only one thing on his mind when he gets that close and that’s collecting two points. Outside Reeves back to Donic. tipped away. In 2024, Luca Donuch recorded six consecutive 30point triple double games. That’s right, BA. The first time anyone has done it in NBA history. So, if you didn’t already believe in Luca Magic, well, there’s some proof that the magic is real. That one’s off. And Donas is a walking triple double threat. His versatility and confidence is really special. Moody’s checked in for the Warriors. and he sinks the second now. Curry. 19 points in the game. Pass to Moody. And here is Green. He’s covered by Eightton from 7 ft away. And off the left side of the rim, it swirls in for him. Green’s got six. Now that was a clever adjustment. That was a tough shot. Now showing off a little bit on that one. That’s a play when your coach goes, “No, no.” Okay, good play. Get back on defense. Here’s Donic. Luca, get off me. And when he puts it all together, look at the kind of night Luca can have. Wow. Here’s Green. Oh, and he took a hard foul on the shot. So, he’ll head to the line to shoot a pair. It’s going to be on DeAndre Aton. Well, that was clearly a foul. All right, guys. What do you think so far about the offensive approach for the Warriors? I mean, they played some beautiful basketball all game. The passing has been impressive, and it’s opened up things with their ball movement. You also have to admire the way they’ve gotten out and run in transition and they’ve run wide. They’ve run their lanes. They’ve been doing it with a great pace and that’s produced some easy scores. And both free throws good for Green. So it’s Los Angeles now. They trail by nine. Pass to Aiden. Aimura outside. James deciding where to go with it. Oh, LeBron just too much to handle inside. And you are at the mercy of LeBron James once he gets that kind of positioning. Nice finish. Green. The pass to Moody. And here’s Pajki. And Aiden pulls it down. Aiden’s got five rebounds in the game. And out of bounds. Los Angeles will have it. Laas checked in for Achi Murray. Lakers trail by seven outside Reeves. Back to Donic for three. He’s got it. His ninth make out of 15 tries. I love it. His love for the game couldn’t be more obvious. It helps him make a positive impact out on the court and it also keeps the bench fired up. The three from Curry and Curry with the answer on another level. Curry is totally ready to duel this one out from the three-point line. James passes to Labraia. Back to James. Pass to Donic. Lets the three fly and the rebound goes to the Warriors. Here’s Moody. Check by James. Moody with it. James is there. Green banked it in off the glass and it’s a nine-point Warrior lead. Yeah. Draw the D in. Kick it out for the open shot. That’s taking a page straight out of your textbook. Well done, James outside. Back to Donic. And they doubled up. Donic in the paint. Luca. The Warriors lead by seven. Grant. How about that in season tournament win for the Lakers in 2024. Yeah, honestly, it just makes sense that the first of those trophies would land with a historic franchise like the Lakers. Here’s Aiden. And finally, they hit one. Aiden’s gotten four this quarter. Ah, the classic big man rim run as Aton just gets out in the open floor. Has to hurt. Lets it go from 11. Up again. Great positioning on the put back and the Warriors lead by seven. Woo! Hard work creating the second chance opportunity. James with the ball. 20 points for him. From deep. Here’s Donic. And there’s the foul. It’s on DeAndre Aton. That’ll be a second foul of the game. That’s just a lapse right there. No matter what, somebody has to be there and get a hand up in the shooter’s face. Here’s Pimsky. He has seven. Here’s Hurt. Checked by James. Yep, that one goes. Her’s got 27. Jimmy B doing his work there, challenging in the lane. Pass to Larabia. Back to Donic. And so he draws the foul. Headed to the line to shoot a pair. That’s on Jimmy Butler. And this will be his third and fourth free throws of the game here. That’s good from Donic. Some changes for Los Angeles. Vanderbilt’s checked in for DeAndre Aton and Connect subbed in for James. The Warriors also with a sub. Santos has checked in for Pajimski. Donic hits them both. Now here’s Moody yet to see a basket. Pass to Jackson Davis. Here’s her. He’s covered by Reeves. Floats one up. Oh, Butler, the feathery touch. So many intriguing parts to Jimmy Butler’s game, including that delicate floater. Reeves, the pass to Donic, lets it go from deep. The rebound by Post. The Warriors lead by six. Here’s Moody off the left rim and out. Pretty lax defense there. He’s going to see fewer and fewer chances if he can’t bury those kind of jumpers. Pass to Reeves. Down to five on the shot clock. Now here’s Donic. He’s covered closely and it’s good. With time running down on the shot clock, I just think that’s trouble. You’re going to you’re going to let that guy shoot layups? You’re asking for it. Pass to Jackson Davis. Here’s Santos. Here’s Hurt. He’s covered by Reeves. Hurt gets the bucket. Hurt’s got 14 points here in the second half. Keeping pace here. That’s an excellent move inside outside. Reeves three-pointer and Vanderbilt slams it in. And that really has to lift his teammates spirits right now. I’ll tell you, Grant, these second chance buckets could be what this game comes down to. Well, especially in a close game, every possession matters. Left side. Moody pass to Jackson Davis down low. It’s stolen by Donic. And it’s the Lakers on the break for the finish. And Luca finishes it off at the rim. The strength and power of Donett shows up every game. Very physical for his position. Here’s her. He’s got 31. And he drops it in from the low post. Hurts got 33. Oo, how sick was that, guys? I mean, he makes defenders look silly with moves like that. Jimmy Butler getting it done for Golden State. He’s been an offensive force now with over 30 points after the quarter. Back after this. And it’s been a very competitive game so far as we get rolling here in quarter number four. And so it’s the Lakers with it. They’ve got James. Ruy Hachimura is out there with Jared Vanderbilt. Then it’s Gabe Vincent and it’s Larabia at the three spot. That’s who’s in the game for the Lakers. And that was the right decision. When you’re in need of a bucket, you go to your most trusted guys. Yeah. Whether it’s teammates or the coaching staff, hopefully a combination of both, but gets close. He’s getting the ball outside. Curry. Jackson Davis. A screen. Six to shoot from outside. Off the mark. He’s not the guy that you want to give a wideopen look from three-point range. They’re lucky that that one doesn’t cost them. There’s James on the wing. Here’s Vincent and unable to get the go-ahead bucket there. The Warriors leading. Moody passes to Curry. He buries it from three. Curry’s got 13 points here in the second half alone. I mean, he’s like a magician how quickly he gets that shot off. Was it ever there? Pass to Aimura. Here’s the Rabbia. Lson passes to Vanderbilt and denied. He sent it right off the glass. And that shot was going nowhere thanks to that aggressive swap. And this is exactly why he’s out here. in order to block shots in tight games like this. The Warriors lead by four. And a little over a minute and a half gone by in the fourth. And here’s Curry for three. Rebounded by LeBron. He probably thought he was going to bury that one. Here’s Vincent. Oh, plenty of contact on that shot. Officials call the foul and he’ll take two free throws. Now Graham, despite the Warriors success over the last decade, it hasn’t always been this way for this franchise. Yeah, they didn’t have many winning seasons before they got Steph, Clay, and Dre. And you know, BA, from 1978 to 2012, they made the playoffs just six times. and he knocks down the first one. You know, Grant, after losing in the first round last season, it felt like changes were inevitable for the Lakers. Yeah, making the playoffs isn’t enough for that franchise. They are all about championship success, and anything short of that is a failure. So, he picks up just one from the line that time and so Curry will bring it up for the Warriors. It’s a three-point gain. Pass to post outside. Curry. There’s the three. Knocks it down from distance. Curry’s got six here in the quarter. And Curry’s found his groove out there. And that’s a scary thought. Change passes to Benson. Aimura outside. Benson outside. Pass to James over Moody. Then James gets it to go. James has got 11 points here in the second half. Well, if you came here looking for a scoring battle, I think you made the right choice. Yeah. Both of these teams locked in on the offensive end. Going to be high scoring there tonight. Three-pointer. Jackson Davis grabs a miss. The Warriors lead by four. Here’s Santos. Pass to post now. Here’s Moody. Here’s Santos. Clock at six. Back to Mooney from the high post to the right side. Hires the three offensive board and post gets it to go and the Warriors lead by six. A stronger defensive presence would have saved them two points. It didn’t seem like anybody was really aware there to go and collect that rebound in the possession. Oh, it’s stolen. In transition, here come the Warriors. All the way to the rim. Curry. Yeah, sprinting down the floor is the key to a great fast break. And Steph putting on the afterburners there. Here’s the Rabia. Back to James. Out to Aimura from outside the ark. And the rebound goes to the Warriors. Moody’s got his fourth rebound in this one. Now here’s Curry. He’s closely guarded outside booty. Back to Curry from deep three-point land. Oh, Curry stretching the limits. Wow, what a shot. Great execution. Steph just ripping the defense right now to shreds. What a great screen and roll action that was. Here’s Larabia. Back to James. Pass to Labraia. Vanderville. The screen on Curry. Vincent. And right away they match it with a three-pointer of their own. Vincent’s gotten four this quarter. And both teams running long range plays that are working well. Both of them looking towards the three-point line. And I like to see that especially when the results are made buckets. Curry surveys. Jacks up a three. Long target from range. Curry’s got 36 points. That’s a high percentage shot from Steph Curry. Just put that on repeat. Vinson outside on the wing. Nachimura. Pass to Larabia. Now Vincent shoots over Curry. Benson can’t hit. The Warriors lead by 11. And here’s Moody outside. Curry. Back to Moody to the wing. Right side. Pass to Jackson Davis. Golden State needs to get off a shot. Curry no good. Los Angeles has got two of five threes to go here in the fourth. Back to James. And here’s Venson. Vanderbilt. A screen on Curry. Shot is up. Benson can’t hit. Golden State has gone four of nine from three-point range in the fourth. Pass to Moody. Up top. Curry. The three. It’s rebounded by Los Angeles. Now Vincent. Here’s Aimura. Vincent outside the three and once again off the mark by Los Angeles. Now the Warriors with it. They’re on a 16-6 run. Hits a three-pointer. Yeah, you can tell Curry knows the angles. Smartly setting up another guy. Lakers trail by 14. And so JJ Reic calls for the timeout, rallying his guys to make sure they all know the plan. Heat. Heat. And the Lakers with some changes. DeAndre Eaton. He’s checked in for Vanderbilt. Reeves comes in for Larabia. And Donic has subbed in for Vincent. A chance here to catch up with Ally from the sideline. I was able to listen in on what JJ Reic was going over with his team. Coach was seething about the turnovers. He said, “I love everything we’re doing but the turnovers. They’re killing us. Let’s clean up that before it sinks us.” And Ally, thanks. Donic passes to Reeves. Aiden with it. Green covering. Good on the shot. The Warriors lead by 12. Here’s Curry and the foul is called. He missed it. So, he’s got a couple of free throws coming his way. That one on Donic. Watching Curry is an education on how to take advantage of whatever the defense is throwing your way. Shooting two. And he makes a first and so Curry nails both of them. Yeah. So easy to root for Stephen Curry because of how much fun he seems to have on the floor. Embraces the competition but is able to laugh it off when something doesn’t go his way. A lot of things do though. Aimura the pass to Aiden. James outside over healed. The shot by James. No good. The Warriors lead by 14. Here’s her. Curry a screen on Aimura. Here’s Hurt. Donic pulls down the board. Donic has got four rebounds now. Reeves the pass to Donic and he gets it to go. Hitting off the back of the rim. Donic has got 35 in the game. And give Luca the ball and you know what happens next. Instantly he finds the shot outside heel. Pass to Green to the inside. Here’s Hurt. Was good. Hurt’s got 18 points in just the second half and just totally relentless only increasing the intensity level. Yeah, he’s the guy that you want to go to right now trying to put this one away. Reeves the pass to Aiden. Aiden gets a double team and slammed dunkked by James. There’s a lot of people who are very curious about Aiden and the total package he is. Nice pass there. Pajimky with it outside. Curry fires the three. Drills it from deep. Curry’s got 41. And their strategy is obvious. Manufacture looks from outside the ark. And I don’t know how they keep doing this, but every time down, the resulting possession ends up at the three-point line. And a fairly efficient shot attempt at that. Aiden passes to James. Now here’s Aiden. Donic outside, takes the three. Luca comes right back with his own. And that’s a back breaker for the defense. Donic nailing the shot right before the buzzer. Curry against Donic. And the call will be against Austin Reeves. That’s foul number two for him. A minute 53 left to play in the fourth quarter of this one. Oh, Aton with the block. James with the ball and it’s healed picking him up. A shot by Reeves. No good. Sometimes you just have an off night, guys. And that’s what we’ve seen so far. Green. Donic pulls down the board and here’s Donic. He’ll bring it up for the Lakers. Reeves finds Donic. So, it’ll be two free throws. He was fouled in the act of shooting. And you can’t let Donets get this type of positioning because then you’re pretty much forced to foul him. First free throw is good. Second free throw. No good. Not a perfect trip to the free throw line, but they’ll take what they can get at this point. Outside heel to the paint. Here’s Curry and he floats it in for the easy two. credit the sweet. Hey Clark, in tonight’s game, what are you watching closely? Well, the thing that jumps out at me, Kevin, is the guard matchup. I mean, both teams have tremendous back courts, and I really think whoever is able to win or control that battle is going to win the game. Now, Golden State’s starting five. In the back court, we’ll see Curry and Pompeki. Jimmy Butler is out there with Draymond Green, and it’s healed in at the small forward position. Here’s PMski right side. Green Curry outside Linkers with the rebound. Now here’s LeBron. Pass to Reeds. Now here’s Donic guarded by Ker. Fade away. Jimmy Butler with the rebound. You can’t look at the result of that shot. They’ll take that whenever they get it. Well, you know, I hear you. That’s a good look, but when you’re that wide open, I think you got to knock it down. And once he got to the 10, I think he was surprised to find himself that wide open. Well, this early, they should be showing a lot more energy on defense. It’s not there. From deep James ts in the tray. You know, LeBron’s not really known for his quick trigger, but showing you right there that he does have catch and shoot ability. Right now, I’d send it over to the sidelines and get a report from David Aldridge. Hey, Kevin. Briefly spoke with JJ Reic. Now, I asked him who hasn’t worried out there on the floor, and his answer was Draymond Green. He told me he’s a high effort, high IQ player who can be so effective. Right now, our plan is to stay physical with him and not let him dictate the terms out there. Of course, this means a hard fought contest down low, guys. Thank you, David. The Lakers with the ball after the three-pointer from Stephen Curry. And that one’s good. Luca uses his body to create space and then finds the inside look. Now about two minutes gone here in the first quarter. Curry fires from way outside and no good. Had a chance to take the lead there. Lakers have gone three of four from the field to start out the game. James the pass to Donic and Clark. It’s hard to compare Luca Donic to any other player we’ve seen before. I would certainly agree with that. Dittos to that, Kevin, because he is unique. His pace is never hurry. He never gets rattled. He complains to officials a little bit more than I’d like to see, but he’s strong. He’s got great touch and feel and he scores at all three levels and he’s a brilliant passer. That free throw good from Donic. Greg, you think about oversized point guards and the gold standard has always been Magic Johnson. Now you look at Luca Donic and he’s certainly big for that position. Definitely some positive similarities, right? But the big difference is one of those guys has five rings and that’s not a knock on Donic. This is a team sport, but Magic’s ability to affect winning was right there with another MJ, Michael Jordan. So after making the first, he goes one for two. Luca Donis is a doit all player. I mean, he does everything for this team, including being a walking triple double threat on a game byame basis. Now James after the missed three from Stephen Cookton the pass to Reeves off to a good start as he hits his first shot attempt. Just such a well-rounded offensive player. He’s got a bit of everything. And we’ve got a timeout called by Steve Kerr. He wants a minute here to get things straightened out with this team. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Warriors trail by five. Healed outside. Outside Curry. Pass to Hurt. Back to Curry. Fires from deep. Happy to see that one go in for his second make in five attempts. I mean, the range is just unreal. Curry can make even the toughest shots look easy. Here’s Donic. That’s in. He’s got two made now. And he’s shooting two for three. Oh, perfect timing there to knock down the teardrop. Healed outside. Here’s Hurt. He’s covered by Hatchima. Kurt misses. Lakers leading by four now. Hatchimal. He has yet to score. Reeves finds Donic. Shot clock at six. And there’s another one for the Lakers. Good job that time by Donic to keep aware of the clock. Nice job getting the shot off there. Curry looking it over. Has to hurt. He with it. James defending. He can’t hit. That is fantastic defense on one of the best three-point shooters in the league. didn’t give him an inch of room. Here’s Eightton. And terrific work on the offensive glass. And he picks up two. A towering presence on the offensive glass. Aiden uses his height well to keep possessions alive. Pass to Penski. Back to Curry. Shot from the top of the Keys. Nice spin off the left rim and in. Curry’s got eight points. That’s a textbook example of how to move the ball. Boy, you got to love that action. LeBron with a screen on Curry. No one near Donic as he lets it fly. That doesn’t go either for Donic. Pass to Hurt outside. Curry outside. Green. Golden State moving it around. Goes up on the wing and Curry the bucket on the assist by Green. 10 points for Stephen Curry. It just shows you how impressive Curry’s shooting ability is that he can adjust for any distance. Back to Donic. Shoots over Curry and it’s Donic missing. You you almost have to assume he’s going to knock those down when he is that open up high to stuff the alleyoop. And how about the leaping ability Butler gets off the ground so fast especially on these alley hoops. Now here’s Donic. Seven points in the game. Inside here’s and throws it down. Boy, with the basketball IQ of a 15-year vet, Donic makes plays that even veterans struggle with. Warriors trail by four. And we’ve got a timeout called by Steve Curry, looking for a breather and maybe just one or two things to talk about. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Los Angeles making a switch here. Labus checked in. Pass to Green. Curry on the wing from outside the arc. Rebound the Lakers on the wing. Dun back to LeBron. Reeves with it. Here’s Larabia. Pass to James. Five to shoot. The Lakers need to get a shot off. He drills it from outside. Now it’s a seven-point Laker lead. And near the top handling the ball. Luca sneaking out to the corner there getting free for three at the top of the key. Curry. Head shot off. Nice team from Dantic. Los Angeles leading by seven. One thing about the Lakers, Clark, over the last couple seasons, they get themselves to the free throw line. Yeah. And a lot of that is due to the fact they’ve got some real creators in their lineup. guys who can attack off the dribble at multiple positions from multiple angles and that creates pressure for the defense. Shot by heel. Nobody around. Buries it from three-point range. A very efficient range shooter. You expect he’ll to take these shots. Pass to at the elbow. Donic and basket number six to a stat sheet. He’s now six for 10. And guys, they continue to put a lot of pressure on the interior defenders with their work down low. Here’s Hurt. Another three for Golden State. Shooting with great confidence. Butler fires immediately off the catch. Here’s Reeves. He’s defended by Pajki. The three for Donic. Jimmy Butler comes up with the rebound. And you could tell he thought that triple was going to fall, healed outside. Curry is inside. Guarded by Donic. Curry shot is off. And so Donic will at executing in the paint. Aiden has a nice array of shots to choose from. Hurt the pass to Kurt. Here’s Hurt the 11-footer. Good. And Curry gets the assist and it’s nine points for Jimmy Butler. I’ll tell you what, I’m not sure these guys can keep this up. High octane action for sure. Crowdpleasing already. LeBron good. Fighting through contact. Not easy trying to corral LeBron when he’s focused on scoring. Good luck with that. Curry kicks to heel and they call an illegal screen here. Beyond the leaning, you could see his feet weren’t set on that screen. Easy call. Yeah, I agree. You know, sometimes that can be a tough call for the refs to make, but not that time. It was easy there. Vanderbilts checked in for the Lakers. Donic feeling it out. Pass to Reeves. Donic outside back to Reeves. They swipe it. Here’s Richard Lakers with the rebound. Reeves outside. Here’s Laorabia. Back to Reeves. And there’s a foul. It’ll go on Trace Jackson Davis. That is his first foul of the game. And some changes here for the Lakers. Comes in for James and Vincent subbed in for Donic. Here’s Vincent. Guarded by Ker. Six to shoot. the time for the ball. Here’s Vincent and they turn over the 24se second buzzer signaling the shot clock violation. Warriors trail by seven. Curry with the bounce pass. Jackson Davis with it. Outside Curry, they set the pick. Shoots the three and he stops it. What a pass to set him up. Well, you want to stop Steph in the twoman game, but he’s so smart. He He’ll get others involved. Reeves outside and he gets the whistle. Two free throws coming up. Clark, what is it about Austin Reeves style of play that makes him such a good scoreer? I love the fact that he can change pace with the dribble. You know, he’s not super fast, but he’s not slow either. What he is is shifty and smart. He’s got good size, good ball skills, and he’s got a nice mid-range jumper. All of that allows him to keep defenders off balance. and Reed drops them both. Already a very confident player knocking down those free throws only fuels that. We’ve got 33 seconds left here in the first quarter. Here’s Santos and a great assist by Curry as that one goes in. Curry’s got three assists now in this one. Lakers leading by five. Pass to Vanderbilt. Here’s Labraia. No good on the three. Now here’s Moody. He’s defended by Reeds. They set the pick beyond the arc. No good on the shot. It’s been all about Luca Dashic for the Los Angeles Lakers. He totaled 14 points in the quarter. He’s given them all the offense they need right now. We’ll return shortly. And if you’re just joining us, we’ve played through one quarter in this one and a moment here to take a look at the scoring breakdown for the Lakers. Well, I’ve like their assertiveness inside. They’ve been getting that way and playing that way the whole time, setting the tone right away that the inside area is their territory. And something else that’s working for them is ball movement. A lot of their points so far have come as a result of smart plays. We’ve got connect. Gabe Vincent is out there with Austin Reed. Then there’s Jared Vanderbilt. And it’s Lavia in at the fourman position. That’s the group for the Lakers to start the second quarter. As a defender, it’s got to be a feudal feeling when Curry’s in the zone like this. To the middle. Vincent’s shot is good. Clearly, he’s one of the best there is in the business when it comes to making that lead pass. Now here’s Moody. He’s defended by Reeds. This one for three. Curry can’t get it to go. Not sure why he keeps trying his love from deep here. It’s just not his night from 13 and good as it just snugs right down through the net. And you know he’s going to take that shot every time. The defense has to respect him from the mid-range. Pass to Jackson Davis. Here’s Santos. Curry fires from way outside. Greavves with the rebound. and he missed that one, but I’ve seen him drill shots from that distance in warm up. Well, that looked to me, guys, like a heat check and it was maybe a step out of his range. Just playing with poise and confidence, man. They continue to put points on the board. Well, I like the way they’re playing. A very smart first half, quality shots, not wasting possessions. And Reeds has got the ball here for Los Angeles. They lead by their biggest margin of the game, nine. Vanderbilt setting the pick for Reeves. Just five on the clock and the dunk by Vanderbilt. Oh, taking it to the rack with power. Hammering down the two hand slam. Really piling on the lead with a dunk like that. Pass to Curry. Curry buries the three shot. It looks easy. Effortless. Curry natural from long range. And for those of you just joining us, we’re almost 2 and 1/2 minutes into the second quarter. And a lot of contact on that one. So, he’ll shoot two here. We know the ‘9s were a different era, Greg. Either win the game or win the fight. Remember that. Do you miss that physicality? Well, I will say Kevin, it made for some great stories, but I don’t think we’re missing much without all the extracurriculars. And I think we have a beautiful game now. No good on that one. Hatchima, he’s checked in for connect. good on the second free throw. Warriors trail by nine outside curry here in the second quarter. who played a little over 2 and 1/2 minutes now, hands it from downtown. He’s found his rhythm from deep and and you can see the confidence. Yeah, I’d be confident, too. As a matter of fact, I mean, if you’re stacking up threes the way he is, I mean, he’s doing all this work from behind the arc. And again, no good by the Lakers. Golden State’s gone six of 14 with the three ball tonight, just a little over 40%. Los Angeles leading by six. And he’s fouled pretty hard on that shot, but he’s got the chance to pick up the points at the line. The Lakers have made four free throws from the line and missed two. Take a break. Take a break. Two shots. And the first one drops. LeBron’s checked in for Los Angeles. He’s perfect from the line this time. And we’ve got a timeout called by Steve Kerr. This will give him a chance to discuss some potential alterations. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. And so Curry will bring it up for Golden State. Trailing here by eight. Here’s Post. Still scoreless. A nice shot by Moody. Sensational ball movement there. When you pass the ball like that, good things happen. Lakers leading by five. Pass to Hatchima. LeBron outside over Moody. And LeBron James gets it to go. LeBron’s got seven points from mid-range. LeBron really dialed in. You can’t think you’re safe giving him those shots. Green with a screen for Curry and it’s off from three-point range. The Lakers have gone five of six so far from the field in the second quarter. Vincent the pass to Reeds right wing. Three against Hatchima. Just five to shoot. Back to Reeves for the three. Vincent misses. Warriors trail by seven. Pass to Pajki. Here’s Moody covered by LeBron. Now here’s Curry. Takes a three. Good on the three-point shot. Curry’s got 21 in the game. Off a pass. Steph Curry. That one is always going in or almost always going in. Here’s Reeves. He’s defended by Pajki. They set the screen. Back to Reeves and the rebound goes to the Warriors. Those are chances almost always you can rely on him to get you two points, but the D just enough to keep him out of rhythm. This is why you got to be right up on Curry because he’s a dangerous threat off the dribble. Here’s LeBron following the basket by Stephen Curry. Reeves outside and he lays it straight in. Eight points for him and that’s right where they wanted to go with the ball in rhythm. Pass to Pajki. Here’s Post. Now Moody James covering. Green deciding where to go with it. Jacks up a three and it’s Lavia with the rebound. Got four rebounds now tonight. Vincent the pass to James. Back to Vincent. Some nice passing here by Los Angeles. LeBron kicks to Hiimura to the inside and it is flushed down with a nice jam. You know, he could have tried to force a shot there, but that’s not him. Instead, LeBron keeps his eyes up, finds an open teammate. And LeBron the only player to reach 40,000 points in his career. Clark, you’re shaking your hand. It’s incredible, isn’t it? Absolutely remarkable, Kevin. And I did not think I would see it in my lifetime. 40,000 points. Just the sound of that is ridiculous. And you know, he not only has lived up to the height that has followed him since he was 15 years old, he’s actually exceeded it, Kevin, which is crazy. Now, here is Himemer. Hasn’t made one yet. shoots over PMski. Hatchima no good. Warriors trail by six. Pensky with it. Defended by Reed. Pass to post. Here’s Moody trying to get something going and he lays it up and in. Moody’s got five points now the sporter and JJ Reick is called timeout and coach has decided they need a moment to talk things over Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Vanderbilt’s checked in for the Lakers. Donage comes in for Austin Reed. Jimmy Butler, he’s checked in for the Warriors. Buddy Heel comes in for Stephen Curry. Lakers leading by four now. Vincent on the wing. Donic and a wideopen look for Hatimura. The shots good on the assist by Donic. Donic has got three assists now in this one. Here’s Pajki. Guarded by Donic. Pass to Heel to the paint. Here’s Green. Score of the basket. Nice shot after missing his first attempt. And Draymond is smart at knowing when to shoot the ball, especially when he’s got strong position inside. Back to Donic for three. Oh, Donic with a confident three ball. He just sagged off just enough and no hesitation on his part. Green. The pass to Hurt. Goes straight to the defender for the dunk. Draws the foul. He’ll go to the line. That’s on LeBron James. Man, what strength from Butler refuses to be tied down or held down. Excellent concentration on the and one. The Warriors shooting their first free throw of the game. And just to mention, a season ago they were very comfortable at the line hitting about 78% of their free throws. Los Angeles making a switch here. Connects. Checked in. You know, when you’re looking to create a culture, a championship type culture for your team, you want guys like JB. guys that are tough, accountable, and consistent. Now, here is Hetime Murray. The jump hook with the rebound. Green’s got his fifth rebound right now in the game. Hurt the pass to Green. Here’s Hurt. Fires the three. Rebounded by the Lakers. Donic has got his fourth rebound in this one. Pass to Hatche Murray. Back to Donic. Hashimura setting the pick for Donic and a miss there on the triple. Definitely a situation you want to make sure you don’t give him too good of a look. And now the fast break. Himauru with the ball and two shots coming up at the line as he gets fouled on the shot. Yeah, good job to take it right at the D. Yeah, really left him no choice there. I mean, he had to foul and keep him from converting the easy bucket. As a junior college product, Daltton Connect, Greg, didn’t have a traditional path to the NBA. Yeah, Kevin spent two years at a JC, two more at a small division one program, but then used his extra year of eligibility to transfer to Tennessee and there he became a first team all-American and turned himself into a firstround pick. Los Angeles making a switch here. Reeves is checked in. You got this. You got this. And the second free throw. Good. And the Warriors with possession here. Six-point game. Outside Green. Pass to Hurt. Green with a screen on Himura. Here’s Hurt. It’s called in by Los Angeles. James has got four rebounds now tonight. Launches it from range. LeBron is good. He’s so good at creating his own shot. He’s just got an endless supply of moves. LeBron James. Here’s Hurt. 152 left in the first half. To the middle and stolen by LeBron. Fast break. The Lakers connect. No good. I’m a fan of anybody who defends that way. I mean, they weren’t about to open the door and just allow him to cruise in for a layup. Here’s Pensky. Scoreless thus far. That’s a two from Heels. And the Warriors miss again. Enzo Donic will bring it up for LA. Hatchimura finds Donic. Donic converts inside. That’s the weight room strength of Dantic right there. Fully displayed. Pass to Green. Now heel and he could not get that one to go. out of contact and he’ll go to the line for two. That’s on LeBron James. And talking about Buddy Heel, he is someone you can definitely count on. He can score from any place. Yeah, he’s got great range and his durability is just as impressive as his stroke. You know, most seasons, Buddy Hill plays in 80 or more games, and that is very much a rarity these days. And he’s also a 40% career shooter from three. So he can space the floor and you know he’s going to be on the floor whenever it’s game time. First free throw is good. Everybody knows about how Buddy Heield is an incredible three-point threat. But what I love here’s a guy with a bunch of years playing 80 or more games. Love that durability. He’s ready to go whenever they call his name. Eighton. He’s checked in for Connect. He’s off on the second. Lakers leading by 10. Pass to Hatchima. Oh, Eightton in position. And the ball out of play. The Warriors will inbound. Well, that looked like a failure to communicate. You hate unforced errors. 46 seconds left in the second quarter. And here is Moody. He’s defended by Reed. There’s the screen. Pass to Hurt. They kick out to Heel. Scrains it from beyond the arc. Heel’s got four points this quarter. It’s really that simple for Heel. his shot so dialed in and on target. Now here is Himimer. And here’s Dashic from the arc. Hurt with the rebound. Warriors trail by seven. Here’s Poachki. He can’t get it to go on the wing. Donic scans the shot from the wing. Donic has got 21. And so it’s Los Angeles ahead by nine as the quarter comes to a close. They’re playing a cruising game inside and it’s working for him. A chance now to send it over to David Aldridge standing by Corside. David, thanks very much. Steph, what do you think of your defense in the first half? We’re a step late, I think. You know, they made tough shots. We can’t take away from that, but uh for the most part, we have to find a way to to guard that line if they’re knocking down shots. uh to keep them out of the game. We’ll see where the adjustments take you. Thanks, Steph. Back to you, Kevin. All right, David. Thank you. And stay with us, folks. We’ll be back just after halftime to get the third quarter started. He gets before the hole. How about that? Oh, beats the buzzer from way down court. These fans are stunned. Heat. Heat. And we’re halfway through this one. Plenty of basketball left in a game that’s been fairly even so far. Really an incredible game from Stephen Curry. And how about the amount he’s contributing in the scoring column through two quarters. He has been terrific. And you know what? They’ve come at him a few different ways defensively and nothing has slowed him down. And on the floor for Steve Curry as we get into the second half in the back court, we’ll see Curry and Pajki. Heield is out there with Jimmy Butler and it’s Green in at the center position. Easy to see why Butler gets so much respect for his competitiveness. I mean, he thrives at finishing through contact. The three for Donic. Sinks the three-pointer. Donic is 24 points. And I don’t care how far from the bucket he is. You’ve got to have a man on him. He’s just too good from deep. Here’s Hurt. shoots over Himura, lands soft on the front of the rim and drops. Her got seven points here in this quarter. Doesn’t get much smoother than that in the pick and roll. Butler really creative in these situations and he’s hard to guard. Donic against Curry from 12 out. Impressive work inside from Donic. Able to get to the hoop with those nice handles leading to an easy finish. And it’s Curry with the ball bringing it up for the Warriors. They trail by seven. Curry a screen on Reeves. Here is Pachki off target with his three. Los Angeles has gone six of 14 with the three ball tonight. Just a little over 40%. And they double up James. And here’s Donic from the north. And again, it’s the Lakers from deep. Donic giving the full package. Superstar for sure. Pass to hurt. Here’s Curry. Donic with the block. LeBron up top. Covered by Heel. James gets inside and finishes. Boy, you have to be impressed with the offensive production. They have got it firing on all cylinders. And you know, the league just keeps growing. I mean, this game is not going to get out of their grip. They’re going to keep pulling away. And the Warriors miss again. And here’s Los Angeles. They’ve gone on a 102 run, not allowing much. On deep breeds, Pensky grabs the board. We know how good a shooter he is. It’s frustrating for him when he’s not able to knock down that kind of wide open look. He gets hauled in by Los Angeles. A little over two and a half minutes off the clock in this final half of play. Reeves the pass to Eightton. Pass to Donic. The Warriors pull it in. Green’s got his six rebound on the night. Healed outside. Here’s Hurt. He’s covered by Hatchima driving the lane. Jimmy Butler powers through the contact. That’s just a smart wy drive by Butler cutting past the defense to get a high percentage look. James finds a Reed. Pajki grabs the board. Pajki’s got four rebounds in this game. Healed from outside. Reeves with the rebound. Reeves has got rebound number five here for tonight. Pass to Donic. The Lakers moving the ball around inside. Here’s Aton. Good. And the assist goes to Donic. Donic has got his fourth assist in this one. Lucas peripheral vision off the chart. Getting wide open. And he’s going to find And we’ve got a timeout called by Steve Kerr. He wants to make some adjustments to the game plan clearly. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat up here. And the Warriors with possession here, a 12-point game. Here’s Hurt. 21 points in the game. Rebounded by the Lakers. Breeze has got six rebounds now in the game. There’s the triple. Pajinski grabs the board. Warriors trail by 12. Green passes to Hurt down low and foul on the shot. So he’ll get a chance at the line. That one on Aton. Nice work that time by Draymond to draw the foul while in the act of shooting there. And a moment now to quickly take a look at the offensive approach for the Lakers. You love how they’ve lived in the paint making the defense just consistently have to collapse and still finding ways to convert. Yeah, you know, the defense just hasn’t been able to keep up with them in this one. The transition game as a result of good defense has been very strong. and good on the second. So, he makes them both. There’s always a spot for a guy like Draymond Green on your side. An incredible defender. He’s unselfish offensively and a highly skilled passer. Now, here’s LeBron. 12 points for him. Back to Dunic. It’s stolen by Curry. And it’s the Warriors on the break. It’s time now to hear from our Hall of Fame reporter, David Aldridge. What’s the latest, David? Kevin, improving dialogue between players and officials is a priority. Commissioner Silver says now with highfidelity audio, we’re all able to hear a lot of what’s being said. Now, we have to take into account the high stress environment, but there has to be a two-way sense of respect. I feel it’s an area where we can make progress. Kevin, you know, the commissioner is always looking ahead and looking at every area, which is great for the def. Well, I like how Butler uses his body in the paint. Excellent at forcing the issue and getting the call close to the racket. Shooting two. And the first one at the line is good. And the Warriors making a change here. Moody’s checked in. And so he hits both. Los Angeles leading by eight. James outside. Curry against Donic and the Lakers turn over again. And right now, let’s watch that terrific swat. They’re determined to add to the lead, not with more offense, but with big time defense. Here’s Green. Outside cur three-pointer. It’s hauled in by Los Angeles. Rogers outside. Back to Himura. Reeves. The pass to Donic. Lock at six. Dance converts right through the defense. And with the lead, I like the strategy here. Continue to get the ball to guys who can do something with it. If it’s working, keep working it. That’s what I say. Keep the pressure on it. Golden State moving the ball around. Curry is insideed by Donic. And oh boy, a lot of contact there, but he gets the call and will shoot two. Clever move by Curry taking the foul but still getting the shot on. It’s his first trip to the line and and over the course of last year he was up over 90%. And with a stroke like that, you see why. And guys, if a game was coming down to the wire and the opponent needed to foul, I mean, he was the guy they wanted with the ball in his hands. I mean, shooting the free throws because of his proficiency there. That’s good from Stephen Kirk. And teamwide, they’ve been terrific from the line here. Just one of those nights when the confidence has spread from one player to the next. And the Lakers making a change here. Labas checked in. Stephen Curry hits them both. And you know, with Curry, what impresses me most is his efficiency. That’s not something we normally see in a high volume jump shooter. Now here’s eight. He’s got 12. There’s the three. Oh my. He’ll go to the line with a chance for a fourpoint play. It’s on Luca Donic. This will be his third free throw shot of the game. One shot. The free throw drops for Curry and Reeves has got the ball here for the Lakers. They lead by four. Donic outside from the arc and he’s good on the three ball. Donic has got 13 points in the second half. Watch out now when Donic is dialed in from deep because he’s unguardable. Back to Curry. The focus from Curry gets it to fall inside. They didn’t have much of a problem getting the ball into the post that time. Donich with it and Curry picks him up defensively and up the court come the Warriors on the break. Lets it go from deep. Rebounded by the Lakers. Donic has got rebound number seven for him tonight. Reeves left side to the inside shoots and the double obnoxious Aiden in the corner and too much time in the lane. They get called for the 3second violation. Warriors trail by five. Green finds Moody outside. Curry. Three-pointer. Cans it from downtown. Curry’s got two now from beyond the arc in the third for the Warriors. Reeves outside. Donic against Curry. And they double up James and Aiden throws it down. I love the play call. Aiden’s a wellcoordinated athlete. You know he has the reach. Give him a chance to go up and get it. Here’s Hurt. 23 points in the game. Hard earned by Butler. Good solid execution inside. That’s exactly the look you want. LA has gone three of five with the long ball since entering the second half. Reeves the pass to Lavia. Pass to James. Shot clock at five. Reeves in the corner and Moody pulls it down. Tell you what, guys, you don’t see that often. I mean, when he’s this open, usually it’s lights out. Curry can’t get it to go. The Lakers in the lead. Reeves outside and the officials calling for a 3second violation. And those are the kinds of mistakes that are magnified when we’re talking about a game down the stretch. And Los Angeles with some changes. Vanderbilts checked in for DeAndre and it’s connect in for LeBron. Warriors shooting straight 49% from the field. Here’s Pajki guarded by Donuch. Pajki. The bounce pass. And again, it’s the Warriors missing. A tight game here in Los Angeles. Pass to Donic. releases. Plenty of room to knock down the shot. Kic has got 15 points in just the second half. The Warriors shooting 47% from the field in the third. Jackson Davis with it. Here’s Post. A three-pointer off the mark. Here’s Connect. He’s defended by PMski. Fires the three. It’s good from long range and it’s a seven-point Laker lead. Defensively, there was a lack of aggressiveness and it really made it easy for him to knock that shot down. Here’s Herz. Sinks it from just inside the baseline. Her got 27. And this is Jimmy’s sweet spot. He loves finding room to shoot that mid-range jumper. Reeves outside. I tell you what, he earned his money on that foul. Yeah, if you’re going to foul then, make sure that you don’t give a chance for the and one for Los Angeles, they had made seven free throws and missed three in this game. Yeah, a year ago though, Kevin, 78% conversion rate from the free throw line. So, that’s a nice allaround effort. That free throw no good. The Warriors making a switch here. Santos has checked in. good on the second free throw. Warriors trail by six. There’s 117 left in the third quarter. Here’s Herz and yep, finally drops after rolling around the rim. Her got 17 now just in the second half. Los Angeles has gone four of six from three-point land since the start of the second half. Here’s Donic. Oh, Donic all the way. Speedy drive by Donic. That doesn’t quite go together. He usually is going at his home pace, but he does take advantage of holes when he sees And Kette comes to help. Pass to Jackson Davis. Here’s Hurt. Oh, Butler draining the three. And you know when Butler’s hot, keep getting him the rock. It’s that simple. It’s not complicated. Top job. Reeves. 10 points for him. wants to get it to Donic and does. Lets the three fly and it’s Austin Reeves with the three. Reeves has got 13 and an eye for an eye. Both teams working to stretch the floor. Nothing like answering back. One team gets three, you fire three of your own. Boom. Here’s Hurt. Here’s Post. No good on the last second attempt there. It’s been all about Luca Donuch for the Lakers. And with his work in that quarter, he has five three-pointers in the game now. Quite a showing from long range. And we’ve got more in 2K Sports coming your way after this break. And let’s take this opportunity now to show you our State Farm assist of the game. Yeah, an easy choice tonight. Look at the precision on this pass. Put it on a platform. Served him up a tasty room service dime right there, boy. Three tense quarters behind us. One more to go. Thanks for being with us as we begin the fourth. Lakers lead by six. They’ve got Dave Vincent, Jared Vanderbilt out there with Hatchim and it’s LeBron James and it’s Labraia in at the small four. That’s the Laker five. Now Curry after LeBron’s three-pointer that didn’t go. Oh, he’s going up for the alleyoop here. Throws down the alleyoop slam. And you could see him give a little nod and then just burst to the rim for the alioop slam. a pair of teammates, Greg, with a terrific feel for each other. And I tell you what, guys, that’s a big play to make in a close game. Potential momentum builder there. Here’s LeBron. The Warriors making the shot over Moody. True on the 14-footer. And nice touch from the inside. I I’m a fan of when LeBron just burrows his way inside and takes advantage. Here’s Post. outside. Curry launches it from deep. What a deep shot from Steph Curry. And that’s right in his wheelhouse looking to make an impact when it counts. You know, they want the ball in his hands here because they trust him to hit all the big shots. And foul on the shot. He’ll shoot two at the free throw line. Take a break. Take a break. Two shots. He’s off on the first. He hits the second from the line. Yeah, being down two points instead of one thanks to the free throw miss makes getting a stop here absolutely critical. Final quarter of play. About a minute and a half off the clock into it. Vanderbilt. A screen on Cer. Six on the shot clock. Front pass the arc. It’s rebounded by Golden State. Santos. The pass to Moody. Pass to Post. And here is Curry. Curry crashes inside. Stronger than he looks. Curry able to take the hit there and finish. And with it now Vanderbilt pass to Lavia. The rebound by Post. Boy, that is awesome defense, guys, against a capable finisher. Well done. I’m sure the coaches love that. And the call on the shot that sends him to the line. And how about mixing it up inside there. Steph still a threat. That nimleness he has helps him to get that shot off. Shooting two. And they now lead as the free throw drops for him. Pajki, he’s checked in for Golden State. And that one goes in. Two from the line that time. Los Angeles has gotten off to an 0 for two start from downtown here in the fourth quarter. Lakers passing it around. Loud up there for Himura. And the ball out of play. The Warriors will inbound. I’m not sure whose fault that was, guys, but they need to get on the same page here. The Warriors have gotten all three of their shots to drop here in the fourth quarter. They came out of the break on a roll. They set the pick over to the wing. Here’s Post and a great assist by Curry as that one goes in. And Curry isn’t just a lights out scoreer. He’s also efficient at moving the ball and getting it to his teammates. And JJ Reick is called timeout. He knows every possession is critical now. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Aton. He’s checked in for Vanderbilt. And while we’ve got a moment, let’s send it over to our terrific reporter, David Aldridge. David. Hey guys, JJ Reick’s message with his team was simple. You wouldn’t know they were down from what he was talking about. He was positive with the team. He was calm. He said he wanted to keep them focused. It’s pretty good approach, guys. Back to you. Thank you, David. Here’s Aton. Pass to Labia. And here is Hatchim. and he gets the whistle. Two free throws coming up. And when Pachimura is looking to score, it sometimes forces the D to get aggressive. Love the energy. And let’s take a moment here to get your guys take on scoring so far for the Warriors. Well, you know, throughout this game, they’ve shot the ball extremely well from downtown. Their shooters are getting open and letting it fly. And on top of that, they’re getting a lot of points off assist. And it’s always a good sign when your team is working as a cohesive unit. And that one falls for Hachimura. Connect. He’s checked in for the Lakers. Catch them both. Warriors leading by three. Pass to Curry. The three rebounded by DeAndre. Eightton’s got seven rebounds in the game. LeBron outside and it’s blocked. Now, here’s Curry defended by Vincent. Oh, phenomenal alioop slam there. They are taking advantage of a team that looks lost out there. Boy, I tell you what, guys. This is really getting close to being real ugly. Hatimura the pass to Vincent. Connect with it. Pass to Hatchimura. James the bounce pass. Down to five on the shot clock. Here’s Connect. Puts up a deep three. They get the rebound. Fades away. That one’s in there. The Warrior lead is cut down to three. And the bucket from Aton. Yeah, just proving how fast he can heat up. Once Aiden finds that rhythm, he is going to work. And it’s good. Two points. And the D not really doing its job there. A little slow to react to the ball getting into the paint. Pass to James. Back to Eightton. No one here. James as he lets it go. Misses the chippy right there. He’s got to be disappointed with himself on that one. He has got to knock those down. Here’s Post now. Jackson Davis. Moody finds Jackson Davis. Fires it up. Rebounded by DeAndre. Lakers trail by five. Enson with it. Pass to connect. Looking for Aton. He gets it in there. Here’s and it’s off from three-point range. Golden State’s gone two to three in the fourth quarter from long range. Good shooting so far. Post misses the shot and here’s James. He’ll bring it up for the Los Angeles Lakers. Now Hatchima the pass to James. Now here’s Aton and it’s connect in the corner. pass to Eightton. And you just have to be enticed by the skill set of Eightton, a 7 foot one behemoth who plays with a lot of physicality and skill on both ends. And he makes the first. And some changes here for the Lakers. Loravius checked in and it’s Austin Reeves in for connect. That one falls. So he hits both of them. Well, he’s certainly been on target with the free throws. Such an advantage when your bigs can knock him down from the line. But the bounce pass and a deep free from Curry and again no good by Golden State. Donic against Curry. Lakers passing it around to tie it up. And the rebound goes to the Warriors. They came close there to tying it up. Yeah. You know, and after the way they fought back into it here in the fourth, that would have been a big bucket for him. Lakers trail by three. LeBron passes to Reeves. Here’s Lorabia. Can’t tie it up as that one misses. Pass to Pajki. Back to Curry. High post try and he nails that one right through the net. Curry’s got 45 points. You love how each side has risen to the challenge throughout this one. Hey, defense has taken a back burner. Secondary on the marquee, but who doesn’t love a game like this? Let’s go. I like offense. Here’s Labraia. Reeves the pass to Lavia and he converts the lay that’s almost automatic anytime he can get the ball in that position. Warriors leading by three. Pass to Penski. Here’s Hurt. He’s covered by the tear drop. Hurt misses. Oh, eight and in position hammers the alley crew. Setting the table for his teammates. James enjoys sharing and passing the ball and getting others involved, I think, more than any other aspect of his game. Now, here’s Green. Healed outside. He finds Pajki. Green. The screen. It’s up a three. The three-pointer is right on target. Well, and this has been their strategy throughout the fourth period. We’ll see how it pans out. You know what? Teams can get a little three happy down the stretch sometimes. Letting it fly. Donic. No good. The Warriors leading. Here’s Pajki. Green. And Green slams it in. Green showing you some real attitude on that throw down. Curry against Donic. Reeves outside. Donic with a screen for Reeves. Back to Donic. Reeves outside. Sinks the triple. Confident and composed on the three shot at a critical juncture. And so Steve Kerr calls for the timeout. He’s very aware of the timing here and the significance of getting things squared away with his team. Heat. Heat. Hello. Heat. And the Lakers making a change here. Hatchimz checked in. And here’s Green Hill bring it up for the Golden State Warriors. It’s a three-point game. Curry against Donic. Time finish by Stephen Curry. Curry is a guy you can trust to get it done when it needs to be done. Pass to Hatchet Murray. Off target from three-point range. Warriors leading by five. Now here’s Curry. guarded by Donic. Back to Pajki. Here’s Hurt. He’s covered by eight and Green swings it in. And although an unders sized center, more than making up for it with some serious hops. Steps back. Here’s Donic. And he finishes nicely on the way. Donic has got 41. How impressive is Dantic? This guy is incredible at stepping up in big moments. Outside Curry. Another one goes. Incredible. My goodness. 50 for the eight. Yep. He is putting on a show. Takes a step back. Curry against Dunic. Hatimuru. The pass to Reeves. Payton no screen just fine on the clock. Reeves gets the bucket. Pick works well there. Not much resistance from the D. Yeah, that’s not the defense you need. You got to be tougher defensively. Curry fires from way outside. Rebound the Lakers. Eighton’s got 13 rebounds in the game. seated 16 ft away. Donic no good. Golden State’s gotten eight shots off from three-point land and hit half of them. And again, and he’s up to 52 points. Yeah, making a GA look all too easy right now. And JJ Reick is called timeout. He’s clearly intent on wanting to lock in and make sure everyone’s on the same page. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. 50 seconds left in the fourth and he sinks that one hitting the back of the rim on the way in. Donic has got 43 points and now we’ve got the intentional foul. heel with it. Now guarded by Eaton outside Curry. They double team Curry and they go to the intentional foul. Shoot. And no good is the first free throw missing for him. Let’s see if he can handle the second. He’s able to hit the second one and that makes it a seven-point lead. And so it’s Donic with it. He brings it up for Los Angeles. And the Lakers call time here. They trail by seven. Heat. Heat. Heat up here. Heat up here. 29 seconds left to play in the final quarter. Goes up from the top of the key. Crane with the rebound and it’s Golden State’s ball. They lead by seven.
