D-backs vs. Dodgers Game Highlights (8/30/25) | MLB Highlights | Arizona Diamondbacks

There’s been a lot to like with Tyler Glass. Now, a lot of walks, though. He’s allowed three runs or less in 11 of his 13 starts this season and has an opposing batting average of 183, fifth best in Major League Baseball. Pop fly, shadow center. Out goes Bats over the shoulder. He’s got it. Smooth play. Not an easy play, but a smooth play for Mookie Bats. Just relive a little bit of your right field time where you want a gold glove. Two down for Corbin. And here’s Corbin Carroll. 254 27 home runs and Carol strikes out swinging. That is a one, two, three. First inning for Tyler Glass now punctuated with his first strikeout. Things haven’t been going so great for Rod recently. And the last time he faced the Dodgers earlier this season, they put up eight runs in just two and a third. Every Dodger hitter in the lineup has an OPS over a thousand against Rod except for Betts and Will Smith. It brings up Will Smith who was hitless yesterday and is at just 152 this month. His 3-1 pitch misses ball four just outside to a two-out walk for Will Smith. Now here’s Freddy Freeman at 300 batting average leads the National League. Two for three last night. Swung on that is barreled out towards deep right field. Carol going back. He is reaching up. He’s got it in the glove. Needed every bit of his world class speed right there to take away extra bases from Freeman. Tyler Glass now who had some kind of leading issue on his pitching hand coming off the mound after the top of the first inning. You can see the blood stains on his pant leg there. Right near that right hand. It’s like it’s on top of his thumb. Doesn’t it look like a little Yeah, you see that little cut by the base of the of the nail, the thumbnail. Yeah. Is probably good news considering it’s not a blister or a fingernail situation. Strike three drops the curve to the knees. His second K. Well, whatever it is that’s uh cut doesn’t seem to be bothering him much so far. No, especially a curveball has a lot of pressure and maybe he’s able to move his grip around on these certain pitches to avoid that little rip. Now, Gabriel Moreno, first pitch swinging, hit in the air right center field. Pah backs up in front of the warning track. Six up, six down for Dan Bolino checking on the thumb of Tyler Glass. Now, you can see the blood on his pants. He’s been bleeding throughout the ball game here. And I, you know, you have to make sure that there’s it’s not interfering with the baseball somehow. So just doing a a thumb check there. All appears to be okay. And a half-hearted swing and miss. Breaking ball that time from Glastnale. And Lair strikes out. That’s the third strike out for Glass. Now two down for Ilamaro. Vargas. Vargas can’t check his swing. He’s down on strikes. Backto back Hayes to finish the third. Tyler Glass now with three perfect innings to start the night. I’d see if the Dodgers can have better luck with their second look at Rodriguez. Here’s Otani right there. Come on, Dan Bolino. There it is. Rod rings it up. Second strike out for Eduardo Rodriguez. Rodriguez looking for his first clean inning of the game. Takes ball four. Dodgers with the base runner in all three innings. That’s the second walk the Dodgers have taken. First one was drawn by the guy coming up here, Will Smith. Swing and a miss. He’s down on strikes and the inning comes to an end as Rodriguez strikes out a pair. He works around a two out walk. Top of the fourth inning, top of the order coming up for the Dbacks. Breaks his bat and a roll that sneaks by glass now. Bare hand roas. No, he’s safe. Peromo using his speed to beat it out. Los Angeles is challenging the save ball at first base. The previous play is under review. Migy bare hands it. Full coil, shoulder turn, hip turn, and stretch from Freddy. They get him. Very nice play, Migy. Good stretch, Freddy. He’s out, says Rojos. After review, ruling on the field is overturned. The runner is out. So there’s one down here in this top of the fourth inning. Dex still looking for a base runner against Glass. Now one hit him. And that’s the first base runner. This clips his quad. So on a scoreless fourth inning, the Diamondbacks have a man aboard for the first time. And up comes Corbin Carroll. Carol flies it shallow left center field. Mookie Bets racing back from short and he makes the over the shoulder catch throwing back to first base. Not in time to get Marte. That’s actually a really nice play by Mookie Bats. That had a bloop base hit written all over for Corbin 0 for two. Here’s Lordis. Glass now delivers and Guriel hits it in the air right center field. Pes in front of the warning track. Hauls it in and that ends the inning. So Glass now works around the one out hit by pitch. That’s four no hit innings for the Dodger right-hander. Bottom of the fourth trying to give Tyler Glass now some run support. The Dodgers just one hit on offense against Eduardo Rodriguez. and Freddy to left field again. Guriel to the line that drops down. It’s a fair ball in the corner. Bounces into foul territory. Fielded by Guriel. Freddy slides in safely to second with a leadoff double in the fourth inning. One out. Freeman still at second. And that is going to bring up Pahes. Ground ball towards third and a tag play. Oh, Blaze fields and tags out Freeman who tried to move up 90 ft. He is out. And for Pahes, it’ll be a fieldielder’s choice. And I’m not really sure what Freeman was thinking on this play. Two outs and Alex Call comes up. 02 got jammed again. This is a routine pop up for Vargas. And that’ll do it for the Dodgers. A leadoff double, but they can’t score. Backto back hits for the Dodgers to start the fifth. Bottom of the order setting the table. Big spot for Show Otani. Second and third. Nobody out in the bottom of the fifth. The Dodgers trying to open the scoring here in game two. swings and sends a fly ball to medium depth left field. Gura will make the catch. The runner’s going to try and score from third. Here’s the throw and got him on the leg. Double play. Oh, what a throw by Lordis. What were you thinking? Kik Hernandez. He must have been thinking he was going to throw that ball into third base. Guriel catches this ball, surveys what’s going on out there, and delivers a nice throw to Moreno and Hernandez doesn’t even slide. He’s out. I don’t think you could overturn it, right? You’d say that it’s almost simultaneous and that’s not definitive. That’s your best guess and then you’re relying on the original call which was out at the plate. Have to review the ruling on the field stands. Runner is out. Los Angeles will lose it. call stands means there’s not enough evidence to get it overturned and Lurtis has thrown out another runner at the plate. So it stays nothing nothing Rojos at third two out and now the hitter is Mookie Vitz and after the first pitch a diving effort by Blaze he makes the catch and the inning comes to an end. Oh the defense shining bright here in Hollywood as the Diamondbacks somehow keep the Dodgers off the board. We go into the sixth. Diamond backs have had one base runner and that was Catel Marte who was hit by a pitch in the fourth. That has been it. Vargas punches one fair at third. Kik tries to make a play, but that’s the Diamondbacks first base hit. A oneounce single in the sixth. No chance for Hernandez there. A chance for the Dbacks to potentially take a one- nothing lead. Marte swings and hits it high in the air right center field, but routine for Andy Pah who’s underneath. The final out of the sixth inning. Another zero for Tyler Glass. Now, the Diamondbacks did record their first hit, but six shutout innings from the right-hander. Came into this series on a four-game winning streak. Six runs per game above that in that time. Scoreless over the first 14 innings against the Diamondbacks. Smith at second, Freeman at first. And so, it’s two on, no outs for Tioscar Hernandez. Swing and a miss. A three quarter swing and miss by Hernandez. And a huge first out in the sixth inning. Just the fourth strikeout for Rodriguez tonight. The Dodgers still have two on, one out. And here’s Pahes. He’s got it. There’s one. Vargas turns it. What a double play for Eduardo Rodriguez. Again, the Dodger offense squanders an opportunity. First and second, nobody out. And they can’t even move him past that. Corbin Carroll jumps on the first one. Skies it deep to right. It’s carrying to the wall and there it goes. Garbin Carol just the second Diamondback hit against Tyler Glass now and they have stolen a one- nothing lead. Arizona who was no hit through five innings. The Diamondbacks strike first on Carol’s 28th home run of the year. A homer and back-to- back doubles open up the Diamondback seven. Ebbacks try to add to this one- nothing lead. Swung on hit in the air to center field. Should be deep enough for both runners to tag. They’re both going to try. Pahes’s throw goes to third. Diving is Blaze as the ball gets away from the third baseman. Blaze is going to try and score. A bare hand throw by KK’s not in time. And two runs are in. Diamondbacks all over Glass. Now in the seventh, it’s three nothing. The running Dbacks. This is fun baseball. Well, this is just what you call out hustling everybody on the field. They give Pi heads an error on the throat. So it’s a sackfly RBI for Moreno. Guriel scores. It’s a third straight inning. They’ve had two runners on base. First and second, two outs in the seventh. The Dodgers trail by three. Here is Mookie Betts. Betts to center field. Charging. McCarthy. It’s sinking fast. It drops down. Call running from second. He’s coming home to score. The Dodgers finally push a run across. It’s now three to one. So the big guys at the top get it done here with two out. Tying run aboard. Go ahead run coming up. Smith skies it to center. McCarthy has room. Backpedaling to the warning track and he holds it in and the Diamondbacks survive the seventh but the Dodgers get one. See if they can pick up a pad run in the ninth. Vargas had the Diamondback’s first hit. Glass now had a no hitter through five and a third. Vari broke it up. Vargas hammers one in the air way back to right. Goodbye and gone, Elaro Vargas. And it’s 6 to1 Diamondbacks. Big smile from Jeff Banister. How about it, Batty? It’s six to one. They have broken this thing open in the ninth. Boy, you talk about a clutch hit right there. Oh, he creamed that one. 423 ft. It’s 105 off the bat. The second for Vargas. Woodford 14 appearances this year. He has picked up his first two career saves in his last three outings. There’s a line drive to right and a sliding snag made by Corbin Carroll for the first out of the inning. The defense tonight has been sensational. The Dodgers are down to their final out. First pitch, he swings, grounds it to short, backhanded by Peromo. The throw to first in time and that is your ball game. The Diamondbacks beat the Dodgers for the second consecutive night by a final score of six to

Corbin Carroll and the Arizona Diamondbacks take on Shohei Ohtani and the Los Angeles Dodgers on August 30, 2025.
