funny backstory on jonah tong's delivery: when he was young, his dad didn't want him to throw sidearm so in rebellion he heavily exaggerated throwing overhand. the result was the most lincecum-like delivery from someone who isn't lincecum himself. tong even stated that he ended up modeling his delivery after timmy. on top of that, he has a nasty fastball and changeup for his bread and butter
he also recently picked up his first major league win in his first start (5.0 IP, 6 K, 6 H, 1 ER)
i've always loved seeing timmy's delivery on the mound and what he was able to accomplish so it's exciting thinking about the potential tong's career has. the kid still has a lot of development to go through, but if the stars align if would be pretty neat to see him in a giants uniform

I watched the his postgame interview on the MLB YouTube channel. When they asked him what players he looked up to and studied, first person he mentioned was Tim Lincecum.
It’s hard to pinpoint, but Timmy’s delivery seems more violent. Jonah is a thicc boi so I hope much more durable.
