Dallas Cowboys Will Have Multiple First Round Picks Soon For First Time In A While #dallascowboys
It has been a minute since the Cowboys had multiple first round picks in a singular draft. 2008, the last instance. And you may be asking yourself, who were the players the Cowboys took in that draft? R.J.’s got you. Don’t worry. The Cowboys have not selected twice in a singular first round of an NFL draft since 2008. As noted, one of those picks belonged to the Cleveland Browns. And they used one of them, in fact, they used that first one that belonged to Cleveland to select Arkansas running back Felix Jones. And then they took South Florida corner Mike Jenkins with their own pick because the 2007 Cowboys were bounced in the divisional round. I don’t need to tell you all about that because we all remember. I don’t bring this up to say, “Oh man, the last time the Cowboys had multiple first round draft picks, it went poorly. So, they’re clearly going to botch these.” That’s not my point. It’s simply to tell you this is what happened. The last time they had multiple first round draft picks in terms of modern history, and it’s crazy to say that 2009 to now is modern, but they haven’t had a situation like this. We don’t know what it’s going to look like. Are they going to package them? Are going to they’re going to trade up? Are they going to trade down? If I had my brothers, if I had my way, if I could offer a point of advice, I would say you have to trade down. That would be my my immediate preference. And and obviously that’s having no idea how the season goes or how the draft cycle is going to look and all this type of stuff. But generally, it would be awesome if these two first round draft picks, obviously from Green Bay in 2026 and 2027, became more picks and more picks and more picks. I want these first round draft picks from the Packers to be seeds that the Cowboys plant to become trees that ultimately grow more picks and more picks and more picks that they can trade and turn into this and that and maybe one of them is jumping up in a draft. Maybe one of them is a veteran who’s on an expiring deal. Something like that. It would be and I hope we don’t have to come back to this conversation then. It would be the most boring thing and boring utilization and maybe the most improper utilization of these picks to just sit there and select. I would love to see the Cowboys get a little bit more creative, but we’re obviously a long ways away from finding that

Man that Green Bay pick is going to late possibly the last pick in the first round
But people want me to believe Jerry knows what he's doing. Mind you, they selected Felix Jones with Chris Johnson, Matt Forte, & Ray Rice available. Then spent a 4th rounder on another RB (Tashard Choice) in that same draft.
He wants to copy Howie 🦅🦅
