Hunter Brown pitched well for Houston (6 IP, 1 ER, 5 Ks) but was tagged with a tough loss after surrendering a solo homer to Oswald Peraza. Lance McCullers Jr., in his first relief outing since 2018, worked a clean seventh but gave up two runs in the eighth following a Mike Trout double and his own fielding error. Offensively, the Astros managed only two hits, went 0-for-5 with runners in scoring position, and struggled to generate quality at-bats. Manager Joe Espada stayed upbeat, pointing to the quality of Soriano’s pitching and expressing confidence that the team would bounce back. Despite the loss and a 13–15 record in August, the Astros still held a two-game lead in the AL West. Luis Garcia was expected to rejoin the rotation in the next game.

SHAMEFUL. BACK TO AAA
These guys can't hit worth a flip. I've said it before it starts with Joe Espada and his calls during the game's. We should've bunted with runners in certain situations. Why? Bcuz we need to advance a runner to score at least a run. Smh. Guy say it like it is and it's the dog days for everyteam. Listen, it seems like they're scared to pull the trigger. Who is leading in this team? They are NOT clicking together. We have these guys swinging at everything. HELP!!!!
Daikin Park is about the aesthetics. When’s the last time someone has gotten hurt running into the scoreboard? Pad that corner up and let’s try and play ball.
Like always ..thanks for posting..what a waste of talent…when is this fn ship going to turn around….get there heads out of their arses and let's fn gooo…..what's the hold up.SMH
A great pitching staff does not a great team make!
The Angels have been getting rocked and Houston can’t even score runs on them.
Unfortunately replacing it with LED wall wouldn't make it any safer tbh it would be like making it out of glass. Very sharp, very fragile. You just gotta put padding all over that dang thing i'm afraid
A big run explosion is coming on Labor Day ! Astros will have a big win ! Keep the faith ! !
Simms to me the hitting coach socialize to much instead implement some discipline at that plate in the players.
Enough sample size to see they are absolutely trash. To many trash hitters Diaz is trash Correa is not a hitter. Aging players.
Geez we are looking terrible 😕
This team has quit on Espada for the constant changing lineup and batting order. Espada is not consistently positioning the players. Subbing too much. The players do not respect Espada
Diaz in the intro has to go. Dude is embarrassing and a total rally killer.
I've been an Astos fan since 1990. My family has held season tickets in both the Astrodome and Daikin (then the Ballpark at Union Station and Enron). We sat right behind Derek Bell, and he looked for us occasionally before the game and waved at us. So I'm as much an Astros fan as anyone else.
I have tried to stay positive throughout this slow motion implosion, but this is hair-pulling frustration. On paper, this lineup looks unbeatable, and I think there is time for them to take a collective breath and hit to their potential, but time is not on their side.
If by some miracle they pull it out and make it to the playoffs, at this rate, it will be a repeat of the Tiger's wild card game last year.
The term that comes to mind is cannon fodder.
Most of the team players dont have plate discipline
Shoutout to you guys for having a reasonable response to Ward's injury out there. Appreciate your take on it!
Can we get a winning streak larger than 4 games??
Can we put some distance in the standings?
Can we get a damn sweep??
The last sweep was against the Dodgers, i believe .
It's beyond annoying
