All Time Barely Stars Team #nhlphd #nhl #hockey #dallas #stars
making a full roster of players who barely played for your team. Today, we do the Dallas Stars organization. Here we go. Starting off at goalie, we have Tim Thomas. At the end of his career, he was all known about politics, but don’t forget how sensational of a goalie he was. A really unique style. He was a flopper, we like to call him, like Hashik, and near unstoppable. He didn’t really get a chance until his 30s with the Bruins. But while he played, he was so maddening if you’re playing against him. Tim Thomas, unbelievable. On defense, we got Teo Newman. I’ve done a couple videos on Newman before, but he’s that good. Basically the best Finnish defenseman ever to play, although time will tell. Four times inside the top 11 in Norris voting, but he was just good at everything. Ultra dependable. He could score. He could defend. Physical considering his size. Amazing player. For our other defenseman, we have Jean Guy Talbet. One of the legends for Montreal. A dependable stayed home defenseman. He could still score a bit. Seven Stanley Cup final wins, 11 finals appearances. That’s one off the record. He’s actually only one of four players in NHL history to win five Stanley Cups to start their career. Absolutely beauty player. For our left wing, we have Valerie Kmenki. This guy was a magician on the ice. the first Russian triple gold club member, always a threat every time he stepped on the ice. And as good as he was in the regular season, in the playoffs, he was a near point a game player. Amazing talent. For our rightwing, we have Sergey Marov. Much like Tim Thomas, he didn’t really get his chance in the NHL until his 30s, but boy oh boy, did he take the NHL by storm. He was so good that they had to permanently change the rules for the Rookie of the Year award. This guy could do it all. Virtually unstoppable in his prime. And if I take USSR games into consideration, he’s my pick for the greatest Russian forward of all time. And at center, we have Eric Lindros. He’ll always be remembered for refusing to play for the Quebec Nordiks, but dear lord, he was a talented player, way too fast and skilled for his size. Second coming of Lemieux pretty much Pearson winner, heart winner would have won an Art Ross if he didn’t lose the tiebreaker because he had less goals than Jogger. And if you got to watch him play, you know what I’m talking
