#Cowboys Fish AM Report LIVE: Micah Trade Rumor Swirls as 4-Way Clock Ticks. …

Tick tock, tick- tock. The clock is ticking on Micah Parsons and the Dallas Cowboys in a number of ways as another rumor swirls to the top. Mike Fischer, your trusty and trusted reporter on the Fish Report on your Dallas Cowboys. There’s the eight bongs on the wall. Uh, every morning breakfast at fishes for those of you who wake and bake. Clock ticking. Cowboys owner Jerry Jones insists there’s no deadline. Uh, Mr. Mind, a deadline’s m and and in a sense because the Cowboys have long-term contractual control here. And Mike is under contract. So, in a sense, you can make the argument that there’s technically no deadline. But there’s three facts that stand in the way of that position. three ticks on the clock that stand in the way. We’ll discuss this with your help, of course. Get in, get on, be good. Bring something of intellect to the table like I attempt to do. Uh me and you and 75,000 fish heads in Cowboy Nation can’t be wrong. Uh I’m interested in your comments, of course, and questions and criticisms. Scott K, Uncle Fish Premium, I’m with Jerry. I’m not losing any sleep. Scott, I don’t believe you. I’ve Scott, I’ve known you for 30 years. I don’t think I believe you. Not losing any sleep over this Micah thing. And I’m going to tell you why as we go through this. Carrie C, Uncle Fish Premium, the picture of Jerry and uh Shereice, Mama Parsons. That says it all for me because they were giggling and laughing and everything’s so peaceful. Okay, but hang with me here. Uh Pat C, tell me more of what we’re talking about and I’ll be happy to address it. Jane Slater, obviously uh great friend of the show. Been friends with hers for 15 years. Jane and uh and adore her and she does a great job. Very plugged in to what’s going on in this locker room and this front office. Uh MBzi, Uncle Fish, looks like I’m buying you dinner. Deuce was cut. I tried to save you. I tried to save you the the uh the $40 now it’s going to cost us to hang out at the Maverick Bar 1616 Hein 15 minutes 16 minutes from everywhere in the Metroplex where by the way on October 12th we’re having our cowboy watching party fish October 12th the Maverick bar people coming in from all over the continent and we invite you to do the same. Three clock ticks stand in the way. Clock tick fact number one. A week from today, the Cowboys board a plane to kick off the 2025 season. They go to Philly against the defending Super Bowl champions. They play on September 4th. Of course, they get on the plane in a week. The Cowboys need Parsons on that plane. That is a deadline. Clock ticking fact number two. Micah of course has been holding in all summer starting when the Cowboys open training camp in Oxnard in late July. And so Micah now hasn’t practiced with Dallas while holding in with the ooh oo I think it’s broke back injury. Uh he underwent his MRI. Shotti confirmed that by the way on Friday. The MRI showed that everything’s fine and everything is fine with his back, which has Shotti now saying in his press conference here at the Star yesterday that he’s making a note of it that that he had the MRI. It’s clean. He’s fine. That’s a little That’s a little tricky little pressure from Shotty pointing out publicly, we’re not going to be able to use the injury excuse. We could we can come up with something else, but the injury excuse won’t fly. He’s not injured. Clock ticking fact number three. Speaking of Friday, that was not Joe’s on an app night. I don’t care what anybody says. I don’t care anybody defending Micah. I was there. I saw it. Oh, he was only laying down on the table for I don’t care if he was laying down on the table for 15 seconds or 15 minutes or 15 hours. It’s the same. Oh, he was only eating nachos. I don’t care. It’s not done. It was a It was a look at me. I don’t care. I do what I want to do. Bad leadership move. And good on Shottnimer to call a meeting with Micah basically. And and it was an hourlong meeting and Shotti didn’t say what was exactly discussed in the meeting. He talked about body language. But good somebody said something to somebody. cleared for practice physically and to come to Jesus meeting with the coach mentally. That does put a little subtle pressure on the player. Deadline. Deadline for the player, right? Deadline for the player. Deadline for Jerry. Deadline for the player. Iron Reaper, he doesn’t want to be here. I think that’s wrong. I think that the agent has used I demand a trade as as a chess move. A Clark, if Micah wants to be a leader, he has to set examples. I I’m not picking a side here, pro Micah, anti Micah. I’m just stating a fact. This team has a this franchise has a proud tradition of locker room leadership. Dak Starach Woodson Drew Lily Roger Stabbach did not when he was mad at Tech ShraMM or getting crossways with Tom Landry and those things happened did not protest by laying down on the sideline because that’s not what leaders do. Meanwhile, as all this is going on, here comes a another uh deeper reer reiteration of the report. This from Ricky Scoops. Now, make fun of him if you will, and he’s funny, but I’m I told you when this first happened, I’m not dismissing this. the the Packers are interested in Micah Parsons. Period. Believe that. We know they have some level of interest. Now, Ricky’s trying to tell us that there’s an offer on the table. The Cowboys have an offer on the table, and it would obviously be twofold. One, it’s an offer to the Cowboys. Here’s who we want to give you in trade. And then two, either let Micah know or give us permission to let him know, whatever. We want to pay him $45 million a year. I don’t know about the $45 million a year and I don’t know what the offer on the table would be, but the but the Cowboys, as I reported Friday night, have received quote an unbelievable number of phone calls. Nathaniel, it’s a great question. Isn’t that tampering? They would, no team would ever go, no pack, the Packers wouldn’t go straight to Micah and say, “We’ll give you 45 million.” So, this had to have been expressed through the Cowboys, if it was expressed at all. JT, brother Terrence Parsons had a quote dismissing all this. Terrence, friend of the show, he’s been on the show, he’ll be on again. Problem with what with Terren Terren’s position is Jerry’s not trading Micah to the Packers. He’s not trading Micah at all. That’s fine. That does not mean that the Packers don’t have an offer on the table. It’s two different things. rich. 45 million is probably what Jerry offered him. Possible. And um we can argue if that if and when that ever happens, we can argue that it’s an overpay while the two of them stand up on the podium with Micah’s mom sitting right there and the babies and the agents and we’re all gonna we’re all going to hug and laugh and giggle about how great it all is. Jeffrey G. Fish, what is it that Mike is not getting that he wants from Jerry? Is he feeling misused? At this point, it’s just stubbornness. Now, many of you point out it’s also show showbiz, but it can be both. This can be showbiz and a real conflict. And it is. See, Will Jerry already made Mike a fair offer. He did indeed. He absolutely did. Sky, stop the cap. Uhoh. That means Sky is under the age of 60. Cap means lie. This has nothing to do with leadership. Why has TJ Watt been paid and not forced to play out his contract, but Micah has a gravel to get his Sky? Micah has been made an offer. There was no graveling. They Micah and Jerry and I use I use the word scratched out on a bar napkin loosely figuratively. Maybe they they had an agreement Sky. They had a tentative ducks in a row agreement that as I reported in March centered around 5 years and $200 million. That’s not graveling. That’s money. Number one. Number two, don’t accuse me of lying or I’ll come over there, Skye, and kick your ass. I’m I could be wrong, but I don’t lie. And three, as it relates to your comment, it has everything to do with leadership. This has everything to do with leadership. Because Micah Parsons, when Demarcus Wear left, announced, “Good, now I can be in charge around here. I’m the real leader.” He said it. Real leaders don’t take naps on the sideline during games ever in any sport at any level. I don’t care if you make $40 million or you make 4 cents. Stop the cap. You You got to speak old man English to me usually for me to get it. But I I I did I did interpret that one. I did get that one. Pat, the agent should work for Micah. Micah not feel that one. The agent is working for Micah. He’s trying to get him every dollar he can get him. Which is why I promise you every time that Micah said, “I I don’t need to be the highest paid or oh, Jerry’s my dog. We’ll work it out.” Or it it’s not money is not important to me. Every time the agent cringes, and I always like to use a parallel because most of us can understand this. Same thing when you’re buying a house. When you walk into a house with your real estate agent and the first thing you say is and the and the seller’s there and you go, “I love it.” Your real estate agent’s going, “Don’t say that. Don’t you get it, Thor? You can scream all you want old man stuff, but it’s bullsh I don’t care what generation it is. You don’t sleep on the sidelines. What are you talking about? I don’t care if it’s 1960 or 2260. Never, man. Uh, classic stop. Stop the cap. Now we got, you know what, everybody, let’s just start talking that way. Stop the cap. Nobody drafted Micah for his leadership. He was drafted to kill the quarterback. False. You’re wrong. Number one, you’re you’re a you’re a top half of the draft first round pick and you want $40 million a year and you announce I’m the new leader. That does mean that you’re asked to lead. Two, you could be the 53rd man on the team. You still don’t take a nap on the sideline. And three, he was not drafted to kill the quarterback. And class, this is why I’m glad you’re here. I’m here to teach you something. He was not drafted as a pass rusher. So, your homework sucks. You must be new here. Fact number four. With the clock ticking, Dallas needs Micah to be on the practice field. There’s only four practices left. And Dallas needs to get off the pot, so to speak. Is the answer here to pacify Parsons while erasing his trade demand with money? Then do it if that’s the answer. Is Jerry’s answer to let the kite bike as we like to say knowing that he has long-term control, contractual control. Micah already under contracted 21 million this year. Franchise tag franchise tag. We need to add up. What happens if you just do franchise tags for as long as you can? Three, right? What does that add up to? I wonder if it adds up to less than 45 million a year. That’s a beard scratcher. Clemente, I wonder if Micah feels he’s losing a fan base. No. But one thing that Jane Slater did note the other day that is accurate because you guys brought up Jane, he is a competitor. Uh the idea that he’s and he and he is brothers with these guys. The idea that he’s going to sit at home on next Thursday night and watch this game on TV. I I I it’s hard the the Micah that we think we know. It’s just hard to imagine that. Classic. It’s too late now for you to pretend you know what you’re talking about. Of course I’m right. I know I’m right. You don’t have to tell me I’m right. I tell myself that plenty. What is the answer? The Cowboys have four practices to figure it out. And Jerry can say no, no deadline. He knows it’s not true. And Micah can pretend I don’t want to be here. He knows that’s not true. JT, didn’t this happen last year with the And and it happens. It happens a lot with every team at different times. This is the team though that is suspected of turning it into drama on purpose. And you know what? If that’s what this is, and I’ll close with this, Jerry, if that’s what you’ve been doing, if that’s part of your motivation, and Mike, if that’s part of your motivation, great. Yeah. You’re you’re both you’re you’re both above the fold. Micah is a bigger celebrity now than ever in part because of this. Jerry gets to ride the Netflix thing. He’s bigger. He’s a rockstar. He’s bigger than ever. Immortal $5 pitch in. I feel like the sitouts hurt the athlete and the team more than the Joneses. If the Joneses cared, really cared, could prove they cared as much about the importance of beating the Eagles as they cared about the publicity they’re getting from all of this.
