This is a STEAL for the Bulls…
This is an absolute steal for the Chicago Bulls as we have a bunch of new updates regarding the Kobe White situation and on top of that a new trade report and rumor that would set the Chicago Bulls up so perfectly in a situation to get even more through a trade while also getting a player who totally has the potential to just become the next Kobe White. And we are going to break all of this down. A lot to go over guys and we’re going to jump right into it. But before we do that, if you’re part of that 51% that’s not subscribed to Bulls Digest, make sure to subscribe for daily Chicago Bulls updates. We got a lot of great videos coming out for you guys every single day and you do not want to miss out on all the fun we’re having on this channel. So, make sure to subscribe. Turn on those post notifications. We’re now in September and that now means training camp media day. A bunch of stuff is going to start happening and we’re going to have a bunch more videos for you guys. So, make sure to have those notifications on. But let’s talk some Chicago Bulls basketball. That’s why we’re all here at the end of the day. Arturus Carnoshus has two really, really big things to do throughout this free agency period, this offseason period that we are still in. One, the most important one is resign Josh Giddy. Get a contract done. Don’t let Josh Giddy take that min that qualifying offer and then leave in a year. That would be horrific and you fire our terrorists instantly for that. And on top of that, it is about Kobe White. It’s time. Kobe White can only get an $89 million extension from the Chicago Bulls. Meanwhile, other teams can pay him way more than that up in free agency next year. Because of that being the case, there is only one thing left to do here. You have to trade Kobe White. There’s no other way around it. Unfortunately, that is the world we live in, and there is not any other situation at hand that could be used. Now, with that in mind, finding the right the right trade for Kobe White is going to be difficult considering the way that he finished out the year after the All-Star break. After the Bulls elected not to trade him at the trade deadline, we saw Kobe White have the best stretch of basketball throughout his entire NBA career. And I mean, the man was downright phenomenal. After the All-Star break, he put up 24 and a half points per game, four rebounds, four assists, shot well from the field, shooting 49% and shot 37% from three. Kobe White was absolutely excellent. And now with there not being a trade yet and this being the final chance to make that trade, there has been a new report suggesting suggesting suggesting suggesting that Dante Devenzo and Rob Dillingham get swapped for Kobe White. And I think this is perfect for the Chicago Bulls for a ton of reasons. Now, diving into Zack’s explanation on this, he said, “When the Wolves made an aggressive move up for Rob Dillingham at the 2024 NBA draft, it was hard to not appreciate their foresight. They had a nagging need for non-Anthony Edwards shot creation and a long-term need for a Mike Conley replacement. In a perfect world, Dillingham would check both those boxes. Now, while it’s too early to say that he definitely won’t, he doesn’t seem ready for a major role.” Well, that or Minnesota isn’t comfortable tasking him with one. Functionally, it’s no different from the team’s perspective. The Wolves have needs and he isn’t really addressing those needs. Now, Dillingham last season only appeared in around 10 minutes per game, putting up four and a half points, one rebound, and two assists. He showed a lot of potential, don’t get me wrong. He shot 44% from the field and 34% from three in a year where he mainly saw himself riding the bench for a team that is contending and trying to win. There’s a reason they’ve made the conference finals on backto-back years. The Timberwolves are one of the best teams in the NBA with the potential to win a finals any single possible year. Now, I think the Timberwolves have their issues where there’s not really too many shooters on that team and they definitely do need more shot creation outside of Anthony Edwards. And in that situation, what happens? Enter Kobe White. Kobe White’s a good fit next to Anthony Edwards for that reason. They get another guard who can play that point guard position. And it’s been a little bit since White’s done it, but remember, he came into the NBA as a point guard. When the Bulls drafted him, he was a point guard out of UNCC the whole time. The man’s been a point guard. So now he could go back to that role and also apply on a Timberwolves team adding more shooting and scoring to a roster that desperately needs more floor spacing. I mean when you have a front court of Jaden McDaniels, Julius Randall, and Rudy Goar, it’s not exactly the world’s greatest shooting front court. In fact, I’m surprised they were able to make the conference finals last year. I actually thought they’re going to fall apart a little bit uh after the Carl Anthony Towns move because Towns worked next to Go Bear in the sense of being able to be a big man who could shoot, especially with the way we’ve seen the double bank kind of come back. I think the Timberwolves made a massive error on that trade. Now, here’s the thing. Dante Danchenzo could shoot the damn ball. He really can at an elite clip. And that’s part of this deal. It’s part of the deal that I love as well. We will go into Dante Danchenzo a little bit more as well because there’s just a lot to cover with this situation. I mean, look, Kobe White last year put up 20 points per game, four rebounds, and four and a half assists. He shot 37% from three and 45% from the field. His numbers continued to get better as time went on. But there’s more of an explanation from Buckley who mentioned that cutting bait now would cost Minnesota some upside with Dillingham. While undersized, he has slippery handles, joystick shiftiness, and a competitive edge on defense. But that probably isn’t the primary concern of a back-to-back conference finalist. If the Wolves see White’s creation and self-sufficient scoring as potential missing pieces, they probably do this deal without a second thought, especially considering Dante Danchenzo was not everything they hoped he would be. I mean, he didn’t have a bad year at all. Don’t get don’t get it twisted. He put up 12 points per game, three and a half rebounds, three and a half assists, solid defender, got over a steal per game, shot 42% from the field and 40% from three, including 42% on corner threes. It wasn’t the year he had with the New York Knicks, but it was a good year that showed why Dante Danchenzo is always liked. Wherever he ends up, as the Journeyman has been on a multitude of teams, whether it’s been the Bucks, the Kings, the Warriors, the Knicks, or the Timberwolves, he’s usually found a way to be productive and really produce well for his teams. Now, we look at this Bulls unit. Adding another shooter in Denenzo would be huge while also giving Dillingham a big role that he would be able to play. I’d instantly slot him in over Trey Jones. I know the Trey Jones deal just happened, but still I would way rather Rob Dillingham get his minutes early and get his time done early and then have Josh Giddy at the one with Danchenzo with the two, Isaac or Patrick Williams at the three. I kind of like Aoro in that role. Busel the four and for now Vu at the five while Vu is still on the team. To me that’s a roster that’s exciting because you have a multitude of pieces there. And Dante Danchenzo, one thing about him is he’s so ultra competitive that he’s going to be good for the young players on this team, for Dillingham, for Giddy, for Buselis, for all these guys who are younger and who haven’t experienced winning at the NBA level. Dante has a ring. He has a ring to his name. And most of the time that he’s played in the NBA, he’s been on playoff teams. Again, those Bucks teams, he has a championship from them. He’s won an NBA championship. He was injured. He didn’t play in those playoffs, but he’s still on the roster. He knows what it takes. He’s seen it firsthand. On top of that, he was with the Knicks for that year. The Knicks were good. The Warriors, they were decent with with Danchenzo as well. The Sacramento Kings or the Kings, they weren’t. But on top of that, we then saw the Timberwolves have a lot of success as well. Dancenzo’s been on a lot of successful playoff teams and he’s played a lot of successful roles with the Bulls. Obviously, that’s not exactly where things are at right now, barring a very surprising next season after this deal. And then you get D.VO in a role where he’s going to be helpful. He’s going to be one of the top scorers, and he’s going to be a really interesting piece for this Bulls team while he’s here. But it doesn’t mean that he’s going to spend the final two years of his contract on here. or also it’s only a two-year deal and it’s a pretty good deal. It’s like four years $50 million so it’s like pretty cheap for Dante. So we consider that as well and things start to make a lot of sense for this Bulls team. Now on top of that Ben Feifer mentioned that Rob Dillingham’s obvious strengths in drop pick and roll operation and he was strong there as a rookie producing 1.026 PPP 71st percentile on those possessions last year points per possession in case you’re wondering what PPP is. And the thing is his unreal handling opens more opportunities to create verse switches and other coverages which he flashed already. So we consider all this. It starts to make a lot of sense why a move like this would be helpful for the Chicago Bulls. You get Dillingham, another great guard onto this team who you can kind of mold into just becoming what Kobe White was. And now maybe it’s not going to work. Kobe White, he doesn’t grow on trees, those type of players. But at the same time, it is a worthy gamble. On top of that, what else do we see? We see the gamble that we take when you take Denenzo in and similar to what we the ideal hope is with Kevin Herder. Balls out and you flip him because he could shoot the ball. He’s a good defender. I’m talking about DVO. Kevin Herder is not a good defender, but Denzo can shoot the ball. He shot 40% from three for the last two seasons. On top of that, you look at just the defense he plays, the fire he brings, the knowing how to win a championship, and that competitive spirit. and he makes a lot of sense for any contending team that’s going to try to trade for him. I’m gonna let you guys in on a little secret. So, just to peek you guys behind the curtain of Bulls Die just for a second, at least from my perspective of it. Look, I spent a lot of my life throughout college covering the New York Knicks. I watch them a lot. I live in New York City. Like, I’m telling you one thing right now. The Knicks would overpay the Bulls right now for Dante. If they could if they can get him back, they would. They didn’t want to trade Dante Deansenzo for Carl Anthony Towns. They didn’t they didn’t want to trade him at all. They wanted to trade Mitchell Robinson. Timber Wolf said no. Dveno got traded there. The Knicks want him back. They would overpay the Bulls. The Bulls could get Mitchell Robinson out of it. Kind of interesting. Mitchell Robinson 2026 first round pick. Kind of enticing. flip Mitch as well if you need to because he he’s someone who teams will want. Just mentioning it. Just saying from what I know about the Knicks. It’s an interesting interesting perspective. Speaking of the Knicks, Dante played really well there in the playoffs. He averaged 18 points per game, four rebounds, and two and a half assists. He shot 42% from the field and 42 and a.5% from three. He was excellent with the Knicks when they got eliminated in seven games to the Indiana Pacers because if there’s one thing to know about the Knicks, it’s that they’re going to lose to the Pacers. So with that in mind in mind, Dante Devenenzo, he would fit well in the bull spraw while he’s here. Exalt next to Josh Giddy as well until he gets ultimately traded to wherever for a good package as well. And you start to continue to add assets while this rebuild goes the right way. Or hell, maybe our turrets will do absolutely nothing like usual and that’ll suck. Let’s see what happens, guys. What do you think? What do you want to happen? What do you think of this deal? Like this video, subscribe, turn on post notifications. Have a great day. I will catch you later.
