Kelvin Banks Jr. on chemistry w/ Spencer Rattler | New Orleans Saints

Uh, I feel good. I mean, uh, I’m in a good head space of where, uh, my abilities are to go out there, perform, and then also just, uh, the playbook as well. So, I’m in a good head space, just ready to go out there and, uh, like you said, go perform and, uh, prepare for it. After starting the preseason and everything, just kind of zone with that. How much more comfortable are you in the system? I’m way more comfortable. I mean, uh, like you say, the more you know the system, the faster you can play. And I mean, I feel like I’ve I’ve gained a lot from knowing that system from, uh, when I got here to now. So, it just it just makes it uh really easy for me to go out there and play play uh play my play my role and do what I got to do and just uh trusting the guys next to me. Can you tell us your chemistry with uh with Spencer? All right. Now, you know, you get a start. Yeah. Yeah. I feel like uh not let alone just me, but the whole team. We got great chemistry with Spencer. I mean, he leads the team very well. He always commands the uh great with him and uh as well as Eric. So, uh we we all got great chemistry with Spitz and uh I feel like he’s going to play well this year. Gez, you got a question with Holly? Man, how do right tackle it, man? How is that guy? Uh, mediocre. No, I’m playing. I love I love the right tackle, man. He’s uh he’s taught me a lot, man. He’s taught me a lot. I know. But how’s it been having Tali alongside you? So, he went through this all last year and was brought into the fire this year. It’s been great, actually. It’s been It’s been awesome cuz uh I mean, he he’s really like a I know it’s his second year, but he’s really like that vet just me going up to asking questions like, “Hey, how did you feel when you came in this situation or differently like that?” like different guys he had to go against. So, he’s been a big help for me at my game as well. Does it help to have this big left tackle last year? Like been kind of depressed. Yeah, it helps a lot cuz he’s kind of giving me like uh like I said, the little tip tips and tricks on how he was able to like overcome some stuff he kind of struggled with and some stuff that he was really good at. So, just watching his film from last year as well and then also just seeing what he does this year just helps me a lot just help feeling my game. How much more dynamic is this offense going to be than what we saw preseason? Yeah. Uh honestly, we got so much uh installed that uh co coach Moy just kind of installed with us and we kind of didn’t I wouldn’t say we showed everything we could do, which nobody really does in preseason, but uh I feel like we’re going to be very dumb, man. We got some good playmakers on the uh on the uh behind us as the old line and I feel like we got a good O line as well. So feel like we can go we’re going to go out there as long as we execute it and be fine. So talk about coming from Chuck Bisty not having much of a learning curve winning into this offense. So now we’ll see if he’s happy. I know that. How has it been for you? Yeah, it’s been good. I mean, uh, as of the NFL wise, it like playbook, as long as you kind of put your best foot before effort, uh, into learning it, you you’ll understand the plays, you’ll get it. Like I said, it’s kind of like it was kind of the same system as I had in college. Uh, but it’s just different word terminology, but honestly, it’s really just going out there and competing against the best players. I say that’s the biggest part of going from uh college to now coming to the league. You got a lot of plays, you pretty even as well. How did just personally did you use values? Uh, it’s a lot of stuff. I could have done a lot better, but um, honestly, like you said, you take the good with the bad. You do good and you’re going to mess up as well. So, I just try to look at the stuff that I didn’t do so well. So, it’s early in the week, but how does opening week in the NFL feel versus college? Uh, it feels good. Uh, honestly, just just, uh, understanding like you worked so hard to get to this point. Now, it’s it’s getting to time to show why you were uh why you were chose to be on a great team like the stats. I can.
