In 10 months we will be Stanley Cup Champ
His season is really gonna depend on what he can do with no PP1. If he can log big mins and at least play reasonably defensively, he could be a huge addition. For me, I just don’t know enough about his game to know just how excited to be.
I really don’t know what to expect from him. Was that 70 point year a career best or can he reproduce that again? Heard from a lot of islanders fans he terrible defensively or was that there team and style that forced it
Let’s hope he can be a number 1 guy cuz 2 first rounders and a massive contract depend on it!
We all have high expectations for Dobson, not just A A Ron Ward
Maybe an unpopular opinion but I don’t envy Dobson because there are going to be some pretty significant expectations for him, and even if he does well but not great he will be criticized. He’s sharing defensive line duties with two individuals on the team who have proven results for point production so the pickings COULD be slim.
All that being said, he’s getting **paid** so I’m hoping that makes the pain go away if he is held to a higher standard than what ***HE*** expects. I’m rooting for him, but I’m tempering my expectations and instead of offensive expectations I’m focusing on how he does defensively.
I think the effect Dobson will have on the Habs goes beyond points… At least from what I remember from his junior hockey, he was a player who can spend almost 30 minutes on the ice, who can stop beat players from other teams and who can generate offensive…
Talking about offensive, I don’t think 70 points is realist for him considering he probably won’t be on PP1, I’d he can reach 40 – 50 points while stopping the best offensive elements from the other teams at 5 vs 5 it will be a huge success.
Put him with Guhle and let him play to his strengths. Can’t wait.

but if he can hit 60pts, play important minutes.. play more than 70 games and land some major hit using his big physique.. then we are more than in business.
