The Orlando Magic have Found their SECRET WEAPONS …

The Orlando Magic have unlocked their secret weapons, or at least they’re getting a glimpse of what it could look like in the regular season. Every Magic player participating in the Euro Basket tournament is absolutely shining. Yesterday, Tristan Dilva entered the chat, leading the Germany team to a 120 to 57 win over Great Britain. It was absolutely Tristan Dilva’s best game of the tournament by far. So, we’re going to break down his breakout performance here today on Magic Digest along with some great games from France Vagner, of course, and Goa Bataz, who plays for the Georgia team. Uh, those two shined in some unexpected areas in the stat sheet that we’re going to get into. But over the last two days, the Magic players have just been showing some very encouraging signs. Confidence is on full display here. Uh, and Magic fans, you should be so excited about this team going into the season. Uh, I can’t wait another second to get into it. So, welcome to Magic Digest. I’m your host, Sam Rodriguez, giving you all the latest news and updates on this team. If you’re new here, please go ahead and hit that subscribe button. Um, yesterday, Germany absolutely demolished uh Great Britain. Granted, I don’t believe there are any NBA level players on this Great Britain team. And Germany, on the other hand, is one of the the favorites to go on and win the tournament, but a 120 to 57 loss is just absolutely insane. Um, not so insane, but maybe a little unexpected for some people. It wasn’t France or Dennis Shruder who led the Germany team as they tend to. Um, but it was Tristan Dilva who hadn’t really had any particularly outstanding games up until this point. I’m going to pull up his stats here for you from right to left. You can see the progression of his stats over um the four games that they’ve played in this tournament so far. But against Great Britain, he finished with 25 points. He was 10 for 12 from the field, including uh five for seven from three. He also added five rebounds, two blocks, and a steal to his stat sheet. Just a great game overall from Dilva. and you can take it with a grain of salt if you so choose because it was against this Great Britain team, but this is the kind of game you want to see from him for all sorts of reasons, namely confidence and comfortability. Um, and you can see uh on the left there, Tristan was just scoring from all different points on the floor. Uh, he was being aggressive. He had some really nice cuts to the basket and some feeds from Fron. Um, obviously letting those threes fly and knocking down more than half of them. Listen, we’ve talked a lot about three-point shooting on this channel this off seasonason, and for good reason. The Magic had a flurry of injuries last season. They ranked dead last in three-point shooting, but they were still able to make the playoffs. And guys like Tristan Dilva, a firstear player, were thrown into the fire, and he proved to be effective with Paulo and Fron out. Um, I’m going to pull up his uh season stats for you guys. Um, but in 10 games leading up to the All-Star game last year, uh, like I said, with Paulo and Fron out, Tristan shot 45% from three in those 10 games. Um, but his numbers started to trail off once the team started getting healthy, um, and he fell out of the rotation a little bit. But this game against Great Britain is basically best case scenario for the Magic if he can step into the season and not just be the 3 and D guy that the Magic expect him to be, but to be able to come in and knock down some threes uh is really what the Magic need because as great as it is that they added a 40% three-point shooter um in Jasmine Bane, um the Magic are going to need more than that, right? And there’s still some concerns about Fran’s three-point shooting and Palos. um those two have had a bit of a drop off um in their production. So um just shout out to Tristan um for really stepping up in this game and kind of putting his skill set uh on display here. It was definitely uh encouraging to see and like I said, I’m sure his competence is um through the roof right now. Uh we’re going to move on to France. Um as we’ve talked about here, France has been absolutely phenomenal in this tournament. Once he gets into that lane, he is just seemingly unstoppable. Um, making the most complicated buckets just look so smooth. And I really loved this tweet here from Point Made Basketball that says, “From Vagner’s struggle from the three-point line have been well documented over the last few years, and they’ve been well documented here on Magic Digest, but he’s thrived regardless because of his unique combination of frame, fluidity, and finesse. But when and if that shot comes back, uh, we should all watch out. And all eyes have been on that three-point shot in this tournament. He hasn’t taken a ton of them, which to be honest is totally fine. Fron knows what he’s good at, and he’s absolutely excelled at it. Um, but he has increased the amount of threes he’s taken per game. He went 0 for two in the first group play game, one for two in the second, two for four in the third, and then three for four in that last game against Great Britain. So overall, he’s shooting a 50%. Which is very efficient. Um I think that there is still very clearly a hitch in um France’s shot. I don’t know if that’s a post injury thing or if he was trying to change his mechanics as that can happen and and developed um a hitch, but do me a favor, drop a comment below and um let me know if you have been watching the games, if you think there’s a hitch. Um, let me know if this is something you’re concerned about or are you happy uh with where Fron is um with this three-point production so far in Euro Basket. Uh, but the thing about this game against Great Britain that stood out the most was his 10 assists. He averaged 4.7 last season, so he has the potential to be a good passer, and we know he’s a good playmaker. Uh and while a big topic of conversation when it comes to Fron and Paulo has been minimizing their need to be playmakers uh and improving their three-point shooting, Fron being a a passer of this capacity is such a strength uh especially with the addition of shooters on the Magic roster. Desmond Baines, Tai Jones, Jace Richardson. Um so I don’t know about you guys, I’m not particularly concerned about Fron. Um I think his skill set is incredible and uh I think he’s going to be just fine. uh heading into the season. Uh so then there’s Goa Batz who had 21 points, 13 rebounds, and three blocks in George’s win over Cypress today and he knocked down four threes as well. Now remember this is a a game or two after the one against Spain where he hit those two big threes in the fourth quarter to lead them to a win. Uh and you can learn more about that game in my last video. It’s the last video posted to uh Magic Digest. And don’t forget to turn on those notifications so you don’t miss any of these Euro Basket updates. But getting back to Goa, this is a skill we know that he wants to work on, right? He posted that video on X of him practicing with Georgia, uh, specifically working on that three-point shot. Um, where he’s at right now with his three-point shooting going into the league, nobody’s going to be flying out to the corners or to the wings to defend Goa, right? Um but if he can start to consistently knock those shots down, um that adds another dimension to this team’s office that will uh help them in their contention for a championship. So love to see Gova continue to take them in this Euro basketball tournament. And again, the word today is confidence, gaining that confidence um with that shot that he so desperately wants to work on and improved. Um, so combined these guys have gone 19 for 41 on threes through four games. That’s 46%. We’d love to see that. We’d love to see these guys improving their games and gaining that momentum with the season around the corner. As for the Euro Basket tournament, Germany is 4-0 with their final game of group play tomorrow against Finland. They’re going to advance out of this round while Georgia has some work to do tomorrow. Uh, they’ll play Bosnia. So, make sure you’re subscribed and have notifications turned on for Magic Digest. We’ll have the outcomes of tomorrow’s games um and more as we get deeper into the tournament and games get a little tougher and a little more competitive for our guys who we wish all the best to. Uh really want to see them uh succeed in this tournament. So, again, make sure you guys are subscribed to Magic Digest and I will catch you all next video.
