[Jomboy] There’s speculation that Astros pitcher Framber Valdez purposely crossed up his catcher Cesar Salazar and hit him with this pitch after Salazar told him to step off before allowing a grand slam

  1. He 100% did, he doesn’t even look at Sally after doing it or apologize

He needs to be gone. He’s actively becoming a massive headache that the team doesn’t need

  2. Missed the game but when I saw this I knew that had to be the case. No way they leave the locker room without someone chewing Framber out or there being huge arguments from frustrations boiling over.

  3. Framber should have been gone years ago, idc how “good” he is. Dude is hot one game and then garbage the next one.

  4. As far as I’m concerned this drops Framber from our #2 to our #4 AT BEST.

Get this bum off our team asap. Enjoy Baltimore amigo.

  5. Hello, good evening, salutations.

You might know me. I’m the guy that defends Valdez through his worst starts because he’s an elite pitcher.

I don’t give a shit how elite he is, if he intentionally threw at Salazar, that’s some benchworthy bullshit.

I don’t want to root for assholes who think they can be shitty on camera with no repercussions.

  6. Wished they would’ve traded Framber for some quality bats. Hindsight is 20/20 and no one could’ve guessed that Garcia Javier and Arrighetti would come back strong

  7. Props to Salazar, he knew exactly what happened, took a few steps and calmed down… you know… like Framber should have.

  8. Never been a free agent I want us to pay LESS. He will mail it in and become a complete sack once he gets his bag. Do not pay him.

  9. Fuck Valdez for this.

Any reason I had to want him back next year has completely left me. Fuck off with this behavior.

  10. Can’t believe anyone actually has wanted to resign this dude, yes he’s a good pitcher a lot of the time but when he ain’t he REALLY isn’t. Lost all respect for him, I hope Correa and/or Espada tore him a new one.

  11. Dudes so annoying. You’re on a TEAM, act like it.

The way Salazar just stares him down after he’s hit just proves to me that he at least *thought* it was intentional. Which just proves it probably was.

  12. This moment and the game where Framber went against his own team’s game plan are the reasons why this team should move on from him. Let him be someone else’s problem.

  13. Weak sauce. Got hit up and then couldn’t own this mistake. Hope he gets suspended without pay for a few days

  14. Ace Framber and Tantrum Framber are not the same pitcher, and Tantrum Framber is costing us important games

  15. Don’t forget we held onto Maldanado for way too long because this baby didn’t want to pitch to anyone else

  16. Framber was a liability in 2023 and 2024 playoffs, and has been a liability this year ever since he threw Trammell under the bus.

Players have bad games. They sometimes have bad runs of games. It happens.

But this is some toxic shit, and you don’t want this on your team. He would be in line for what, 3-4 more regular season starts? I wouldn’t start him in the wild card round based on recent form anyway. Maybe now is just the time to say goodbye.

  17. He hasn’t been the same pitcher without Maldy. I thought Correa was someone who could help him get his head straight, but I think he’s a lost cause now.

  18. Framber has 0 composure man. How, as a major leauge pitcher- and ACE at that do you just have 0 fucking composure?

  19. Definitely intentional. Besides the fact that crossips are rare since pitchcom, even when an accidental crossup does happen, the pitcher will always be checking on the catcher and running to communicate, apologize and get on the right track. And see if they have signs or program messed up resulting in miscommunicatio .

He just drilled salazar and looked away not apologizing or checking on him. His reaction screams intentional.

  20. Can someone help me understand why Framber would be mad that Salazar wanted him to step off? Were they disagreeing about what to throw and then the grand slam happened as a result?

  21. I’ve hated the way some fans have treated proven winners. But fuck Framber. His 2022 and playoff performance was all time Legendary, but fuck this dude.

Shit like this is why you need guys like Correa in the clubhouse, I’m sure he’s dealing with it.

  22. Remember when Framber first came up with the Astros, how he would come emotionally unraveled when he got into a jam in the game? Looks like he is reverting to past behavior. He has forgotten how to keep his cool.

  23. This makes me upset bc we have Salazar recalled from triple A bc of injuries and Framber is just going to chuck it at him like that? What if he had got injured? This on top of flaming Trammell are reasons why I will not miss him when he leaves.

  24. I think the team started having chemistry issues (this year)when Framber got pissed at Trammel..would be interesting to go back and see our record before that game and after…but given tonight..and how the offense is pretty much Nil as of late…something has been up for a while…tonight’s event was just something that bubbled over..can’t keep a lid on it anymore..poor Salazar…you could tell he was very upset by that behavior…Salazar did not deserve that.

  25. I’m not sure I believe the BS Espada, Salazar, and Framber said after the game either. Their answers were after Astros PR got to them to get stories straight. I don’t believe Framber’s story that it was an accident and he apologized. I don’t believe Salazar accidentally pushed the wrong button and called the wrong pitch. Twice. I don’t believe any of it.

  26. I know Cesar personally from his HS days. He’s a good guy and doesn’t deserve that bullshit. Framber is gonna have a lot of people rooting against him after that crap.

  27. I am fumin’!

Framber is an incredible talent but I am sick of his bullshit and honestly will not be sad to see him go. Thanks for the memories, sir, now move along.
