Behind The Shield: We All We Got (Ep. 4) | 2025 Season | Las Vegas Raiders

[Music] The dog days of summer are upon us as is a truly pivotal and exciting phase of the process. But a question looms that will help. Who are we to become? The answer lies in how we move forward in our approach and unwavering determination to our purpose. This is our moment to transform. I’m so excited about them and just how they’re going to look under somebody like Pete Carol. You see the energy, you see the enthusiasm. That is something that you need. And that is something when you bring it around a guy like Max Crosby who’s been that energy for them for so long, this Raiders team is going to look good. I think that Gino will be excellent. Bowowers will be excellent. Genty will be excellent. And Carol will coach up the secondary. Right now, we’re writing a story. You know what I’m saying? You writing a story. And every man in that room got a pen in their hand. You know what I’m saying? So, what’s your what you going to write? What you going to write? Every day you have an opportunity to write something. What you going to write? And when this book when the when the season close, the book is closed and then we go back and read it. What’s going to be? Let’s go. Right now, [Music] Raider Nation, we are back. We have made it. A long off season is now a thing of the past. And if you weren’t excited before, you need to take a listen to the Raiders head coach. Expectations are sky high. Let’s go. Let’s go. Pete creates that culture, that energy where, you know, everyone knows it’s hard. You’re going to work your ass off. You’re going to put on put in all the work. You got a whole group and organization of people that all got to be on the same wavelength and and going in the same direction. That’s one of the hardest things you could do. That’s why there’s only 32 of the head coaching jobs in the world. But I think Pete just does an incredible job with that. You wake up in the morning, it’s 5:00 a.m. and I’m I’m fired up and excited to be in the building and get after it with the guys. [Applause] [Music] There’s something special about having a culture fueled by belief. It forges a team that doesn’t just chase opportunity, it creates it. What are my expectations? We’re going to win a bunch. And I don’t care who hears that. I mean, it doesn’t matter to me. It ain’t about what anybody hears. It’s about what we do. I think that’s the one thing with coach. He’s always built his culture on competition, but the way he handles us as coaches in terms of, you know, pressing us in terms of how we teach, how we talk to our guys, how we stay engaged, in terms of how he deals with the players, it’s been awesome. Don’t go through the motions on your release. All right. Hey, I’m coming off the ball like I’m coming off working that thing violent with my hand. Hey, dude. That’s big time, man. That’s big time. The thermostat is what set the temperature, you know, and it’s the temperature is set by our head coach. That permeates down to the to assistant coaches and then you impart that on players in your room and you want them guys to set the tone. And even the guy who goes out here in the dog days like we had today was a tough one. That’s what gets you through these days when you have enough guys setting a high temperature in there that gets us over this set. There we go. Right there. Right there. Hey, them edge blitzers, that speed and the recovery is key, man. Punch. Hey, I didn’t get a great punch. He swam off you. Now I got to get back. I can’t get be a man in transition cuz we know a man in transition loses in pass. All right, we about to ride. Welcome to Lumen Field. It’s Thursday, August 7th, 2025. [Music] We are in Seattle, Washington as the Las Vegas Raiders kick off their preeason against the hometown Seattle Seahawks. Hey, this the rodeo right here. This is what we riding with right now. So, let’s ball the out like we’ve been doing, man. We’ve been doing this all day, every day since the start of this. Nothing new. Let’s keep this going. Our momentum is how we carry this team. Let’s keep that going, y’all boys. Yes, sir. [Music] block firing and it’s picked off. Isaiah Palmo stepped in front of the receiver and picked it off at the 10 yd line. Out of the back field, he’s got Lowby reaching for the goal line. Touchdown, Raiders. Hey, go do your thing, boy. Go do your thing, boy. Come on. With the pump and the throw. He’s got a man open. Touchdown, Raiders. Cedric Jackson got behind the defense and they put it in from 41 yds away. Pete Carol and Gino Smith make their way back home and they get the first game under their belt. Speed it up. There we go. There we go. There we go. Violent hands. Violent hands. Work your release. Close the space. Bring the back hand. There we go. Bring the back hand. Good. It all starts with laying the groundwork of how we want it to be. You know, coach always says that we’re going to teach them how we want it to be and then pretty soon they can do it themselves. But until they know, it’s our job to make sure that we bring them along. And I believe in that, too. You know, I I agree with that completely. Hey, that’s it. Eyes up quick, right? cuz you’re the hot, right? Nice. You know what I’m saying? That’s good. Get your eyes up quick. We show them, hey, this is how it’s supposed to look. This is how it’s supposed to go every day, you know, and coach talks to them every day about that. And then we reiterate it and then pretty soon it becomes a mindset to where now the players can lead it. Just worry about executing the technique that we have, right? A lot of good on film. A lot of good on film, right? We win the route, now finish the play. But at the end of the day, like I said, don’t shoot the three and then come looking at me when you don’t make it. Right? At the end of the day, hey, go back, play next play, right? Play next play. Take care of the football is always the message, right? Take care of the football at all times. Culture is built on a set of beliefs and the intentional reinforcement of those values. Everyone inside these silver and black walls are all locked in. on this veteran-led defense. The confidence is contagious. These guys all bring background and experience and toughness and a hard-nosed attitude, physicality to them. Uh it’s it’s pretty exciting and and to see that the effect they’re having on the younger guys and kind of shifting their intensity and how they’re playing and coming downhill. Talk to us about how this defense might be able to look out there, man. And you know, obviously the sky’s is the limit. You know, each and every day you got to put the work in. Um you know, you got to gel as a group, obviously learn your teammates, and you know, um you know, continue to get better each and every day. You know, every time we come on the we step on the field, you know, we’re trying to uh set that set that uh mindset right. You know what I mean? We’re just trying to be dominant as possible. And um you know, as long as we do that, keep our head down and grind, we’ll be all right. [Music] Hey, listen. This is the question. What do we know? They cannoting block us. Period. I don’t give a what color, what city, whating turf, grass, whatever. The Let’s go. You know, he talked about competition, and that’s real. You know, everything we do, we’re competing. Pete is constantly testing me. He’s testing other guys on the team, and he just wants to see guys be the best versions of themselves. He’s true to that. It’s not fake energy, you know? It’s every day. The whole building, it just feels different and it’s it’s uh it’s definitely been amazing. Gang on me. Gang on three. 1 2 3. Come on. That’s out of here. It’s time to go to war, baby. The hand off Max Crosby in regular season offensive second and six and it’s picked up Jeremy Chin stepped in front. They did try the other way and it goes much worse. Tyrie Wilson Adam Butler. Let’s go. That’s the way to show up in the run. That’s the way to show up in the run. That’s the way to show up in the run. Third down and two for his son Carter Bradley who is set. Oh, that was fast. Andre Carter got in the back field. Oh yeah. I’m different. I’m different. Cooked. That’s how you finish a day. Start to finish. From the top down, the soul of this team has been anchored. And when resilience is second nature and ambition is a way of life, belief in yourself and the men around you is unshakable. You know, my goal is to be here for my guys. Uh, you know, I don’t really need the recognition or anything like that. As long as I’m here for my guys and they know that I’m I got their back and that, you know, I’m going to go through it with them. You know, I’m not the guy who’s just going to say, “Hey, you guys need to be working hard.” No, I want to set the example and set the tone. You know, I just want to continue to breathe life into my guys because we got some really, really good players and they work extremely hard. At the end of the day, it’s just about talent, you know, so nobody’s exempt from performance. Daily performance rules the day. I don’t care if it’s your first day or if it’s your 11th year. Here [Music] we go. Let’s go. Let’s go. Let’s go. Let’s go. Second and three to Dante Gordon. He snatched it and it’s a touchdown. Again, bounced outside using the power. Reaches. Touchdown Jeffy. Feel good. I know it feel good. I know it feels good. Asen on first down taking a shot for Bowers. Oh, what a Ashton Genty again. That’s a bulldozer. [Applause] How do you reach your goals? The answer is to show up every day regardless of how you feel or the noise around you. committed to attack the next day. I’m excited about it because the talent’s there. You know what I mean? The talent’s there and that’s all you want as a coach. You want guys that have the ability to go out and play winning football. Now, it’s up to us as coaches. And that’s what coach stresses to us all the time. So, that’s our job. That’s why we’re here is to teach those guys, get them ready to go. So, that’s really exciting. So, all those little steps that they take in practice in the preseason, you see them getting a little bit better, that’s what’s really for me exciting being a coach. And, uh, I, like I said, I think we have a good young group and I think they’re going to play well for us. We definitely know the culture. We know what the philosophy is. Guys are buying into it. Now, the only part is going out in the games and doing it. The group is tight. Whether it’s offensive guys, defensive guys, we’re tight as a team. And like I said, man, it’s exciting, man. I’m just I’m looking forward to see how this season goes. It’s embedded in our culture. Some call it perseverance and grit. We call it the great way. This is why we know who we are. There’s always been and always will be 31 teams and then there are the winners. Let them sleep. I don’t want them to see us coming, man. We’re just working. We’re just working, you know, in the shadows right now, you know, getting our game right. And when it’s time to go under those bright lights, I think we’ll be ready.

On this episode of “Behind The Shield,” the Raiders’ culture is taking shape under Pete Carroll throughout training camp and the preseason.

  1. The raiders media team needs to produce faster than this, we already week 1 why are we getting preseason videos. Don’t get me wrong they are still awesome too see but dont hold out for the fans, we need weekly vids not monthly

  2. What is going on we need to get up to date, come on media team. I know our schedule shapes the media schedule but man. It’s almost week two

  3. Love the video but whoever did the editing dis a poor job with the voice audio. I hear more of the music than I do of the speech from each person.

  4. Fact: There are 31 more teams that feel the same way. The Empty Can Rattles the Most. Don't buy the hype. Our Secondary Performance will loose our chance of winning any game-Unless they start playing like Men, Listen to Pete and do your job as a Raider. D wins Championships. And we do not have one yet.
