Mets vs. Tigers Game Highlights (9/2/25) | MLB Highlights
The Tigers and Mets, two of the top teams in major league baseball, both very likely playoff teams dueling this Tuesday evening Tiger starting pitcher his second appearance in the big league since June Sawyer Gibson long. We’re excited to see Sawyer back up with the big league club swing and a miss on a change up with a nasty off speed pitch. I mean, that’s the real equalizer, isn’t it for Gibson against Pete Alonso with two out and nobody on Pete who had been red hot in his own right now, zero for his last 10 high fly ball deep center field back goes Perez to the warning track back at the wall and it’s out of here , Alonso in his 32nd home run of the year, his first hit of the series into the shrubbery in center field and the Mets have a quick one to zero lead. That was a moon shot Marvel at number 32 for Alonso 111 RB which is second in the National League behind Kyle Schwarber Mets one 10 to 8 last night. It was the fourth straight game in which a Mets starter, five innings or less. And gave up at least four runs. And that puts that much more pressure on young Nolan mcclean who’s been nothing short of brilliant, that was pulled in a great stop by Alonzo. The feed to mcclean time to get key, gave Alonso after hitting a home run in the top of the inning, saves a double leading off in the bottom of the inning. So back to back walks issued by mclean. Have you noticed a commonality of the approach that the Tigers are coming out with against the young right hander, the slider, the sweeper, they’re not a strike, make it be a strike two on via the walk with two out for Torkelson left side. That’s a base hit around third Nemo’s throw to the plate is late. Here we go. 10, 8, yesterday, two runs in the first inning combined already. He’s had a lot of success in 20 innings in the big leagues. The Tigers approaches, let’s make him work. Let’s see what he’s really made of. What’s he capable of doing if we’re going to zone him up, make him be in the zone. And now the switch hitting center fielder went Perez in a tie game and he lines it to right field. That is a base hit here comes green. This throw is also throw to second base is a tag for he is out. The Tigers are out of the inning but holding a 2 to 1 lead. This series is going to be ridiculous. There’s the third walk issued by mclean. They’ve all come on 32 secondary pitches. Mckinstry at first has 19 steals on the year. He’s going good jump the throw by to is a good one and he got him, do not run on this cat bags. Another one. A look at the dugout will not challenge. Guess who’s got another caught stealing Louis to who’s been the best in baseball since he jumped on the scene last year. And here’s mcneil hiding in the sixth spot who can certainly unload the bases with one swing bases loaded one out top of the fourth inning mcneil zero for one. He fly to left every time we see guys, we just go by, Neil takes a big deep breath before he digs in taps. Home plate takes a couple of cuts left handed. Batter Neil pulls one out to right field for a base in so is in Nimmo to third. He’ll be held up there. Jeff mcneil ties the game with an RB I single. Its 2 to 2 runners hit the corners with two outs. That’s with a three to two lead. Rens grounded out his first time up and torn hits it toward the right field corner carpenter on the run and it’s out of here. It hit the foul pole, a three run homer for Luis Torrens and the Mets lead it 6 to 2 in the fourth Nola mclean working with a 6 to 2 lead after a rocky beginning, retired eight in a row, 44 pitches in the first two innings, just 22 pitches in the last two innings and goes down swinging strikeout number four for mclean. He’s retired nine straight. We’ve seen some great stuff this year, like really great pitching performances in this ballpark following the Tigers, etcetera. I don’t know that there’s been more jaw dropping stuff from a right hander for my eyes so far. Looking for his 12 in there, got him looking spun the curve, it stayed on line and drops in right over the knees on Sweeney two outs in the fifth by the way , second time through mclean. Perfect. He strikes out swinging a sinker away. Nolan mcclean has settled into his mcclean in ways. He strikes out the side in the fifth. Picks up his third stolen base of the year. That is his first major league stolen base playing in his 401st game today. First bag for to so the Mets who have a four run lead, it’s a nice comfortable lead to have for a moment. You realize you’re playing the Tigers and they came back all day yesterday on the flip side, it’s critical for the Tigers if they want to come in, come back in this game to hold on to the Mets here, swing and a miss flat footed flail a changeup. That’s a good change up from working out of the bullpen for the first time. Strikes out and keeps on rolling. Retired 13 straight and only been one ball hit out of the infield of the 13 down to the right side. Alonso hops off. He got it. Flips him, man covering in time inning over Nolan mcclean locking in 14 Tigers retired in a row. Seventh inning in Detroit, 62 Mets and SOTO leads off against Chris Paddock. Fly ball hit to right Carpenter back on the warning track and looks up and it’s gone a home run for juan Soto, his fifth home run in the last five games. Number 37 for Soto and the Mets to their lead. It’s now seven to two. He is just on fire, 37 home run , 91 runs batted in five home runs in his last five games. Now, the 2019 rookies squaring off Alonso and Paddock, he had a home run back in the first inning Mets have hit three home runs tonight and now Alonso drives one deep left field green goes back near the wall leaps and it’s out of here, Pete Alonso with his second home run of the night number 33 for Pete Soto and Alonso go back to back and it’s 8 to 2 New York. Oh boy, they going to get double digits again. They’ve got to double digits six times since August 1st. They have done it only six times in the first four months of the season. It’s Nimmo at third and at second, the Mets are looking to put this game away ahead by six runs. Nobody out. Seventh inning, 82. Mets mcneil has an RB I in two hits already in this game. Mcneil chunks one out to right field for a base hit. Nimmo is in a being waved home. The throw by Carpenter is tipped by the cut off man. It’s a two run single for Jeff mcneil. He’s got three hits and three RBS and the Mets get to double digits again. It’s 10 to 2 hit parade. Tonz has five hits in the first two games of this series and the Mets have six hits in this inning. Beatty will be the eighth man up in this inning and he grounds one to the right side that will go through for a base hit Mullins around third. He’ll scoot on in sliding in safely at third is torn. Brett Beatty has his second hit of the night in RB. I single five runs home in the seventh. The Mets that second five run inning of the night and it’s 11 to two. Francisco Liora the ninth man up in the inning. He’s the only guy who has joined the party offensively tonight and he drives one out to center field that will get a run in. Perez. Has it taking a third to try to score to make it 12 to two, 77th run batted in for the Mets have had a five run inning and now a six run inning last in the ninth inning, kevin her with a chance for a three save ball out to right field, well hit that goes so back at the wall and makes the catch right at the top of the fence just easily. The would have been in the, that would have been the one on one out. Justin Henry Malloy getting it at bat in the torch spot. J hand gets the hands around and ops this right down the field line. Jones is home Tigers are back on the board for the first time since the first inning. That’s corked down the right field side that’s down, up and over the wall it looked like and they will say it is a double, it is 12 to 4. Mckinstry serves it to center. That’s a base hit. Perez raced around third home run number five. And now the Tigers are down to their final out of the night and Colt Keith is coming up and he lifts one out to left and they should do it. Nimmo is there and the ball game is over. The Mets have taken the first two in Detroit as they pound out 17 hits today. Nolan mcclean first pitcher in the major leagues in 11 years to win his first four starts as the Mets thrash the Tigers 12 to 5

No one talking about McLean? Dude is so good
Homerun Derby ??? Is mlb Rigged ? Talking about Rigged , nfl starts tomorrow .
Tigers donβt stand a chance in the playoffs. They have no depth in their pitching, and no resilience as a team.
Go πβs
As a guardians fan, man I miss Lindor π glad heβs doing well with the Mets though π
Mets should call up Brandon Sproat to complete the young Mets Rotation

Whatβs with the bananas?
Did Soto tells the catcher, βI told youβ after hitting that homer? πππ
A J Hinch has got to go. And take half of these pitchers
The back end of the rotation is a serious concern for the tigers
Sorry I hate the banana thing…
New York Mets π§‘π Great Win keep bringing that π₯π₯π₯π₯π₯
Nolan McClean's performance was ace, hopefully he inspired the other starting Mets pitchers to get their act together as he can't do it on his own.
Awesome win Mets!! ππ»
