Angels vs. Royals Game Highlights (9/2/25) | MLB Highlights
25 games left in the regular season. And the Royals enter September 2.5 games back of the final wild card spot. The Royals face the Angels and the Twins two teams that have struggled this season and the Royals have a real opportunity to pick up some wins for Kansas City right now. They’re thinking postseason and they have a number of games against Halos. Halos can make a big difference. A former Angel and Anaheim native Michael will face his fourth start since coming off the injured list and his 22nd start of the season. Last couple of starts. He’s been really good against right handed batters and the Angels have seven of them in their lineup. Netto comes in, he’s hitting 264 just two hits his last 17 times up. No need to worry about that right here. He just hits zack Netto and it will be a leadoff man on for the Angels here gets hit by another pitch. He gets hit a lot. The fifth time Lorenz has hit the batter this season, he runs that one inside on him and runs up and in against zack Netto, that was a changeup, a dozen hit by pitches in the year for Netto. The Angels have their leadoff man on base to begin things. And now here is Luis Reni Angels did enter tonight at 64 to 73. Garcia has got just enough room in front of the dugout. Sweet. There’s the first out of the game. He’s playing shortstop with a pull. Now he’s got a long way to go. Look at that before he got there. And fortunately for Lorenzo, it stayed in Joe Adell. He was originally the right fielder, but now moved into the DH slot with mike Trout being scratched tonight due to his skin infection inside out swing and a base hit for Adle, a two out single will get to second base and pause there in a chance right away here to get the halos on the board. 21 pitch, jammed him in a high pop up. That should end the inning. Coming to the pitchers mound is Patino to make the play and retired the side. So Lorenzen really made a quality pitch. He had all tied up. Mitch Farris who was drafted by the Atlanta Braves just two years ago, struck out just about everybody he could in college and in the minor leagues and he has earned this opportunity to face the Royals here tonight in his first major league game. What a moment for him and his family right now walking in there and now they’re sitting here watching. So we’ll see what he’s got garcia the first to test loses garcia with a 3 to 2 changeup. It’s a leadoff walk to bring up Bobby Witt one ball, two strikes on Bobby Witt junior breaking ball in the dirt taking second base Garcia. The throw is not in time, garcia stumbling into the base and it looks like he beat the throw of and the Royals have a man in scoring position, a late slide like he got stuck a little bit. So the Royals send one of their athletic trainers out along with Matt. The manager as garcia seems to be ok. Two balls, two strikes and swing strike three. There is the first strikeout for Mitch Faris and he punches out Bobby Witt J R. That’s a good one to be able to keep telling everyone in your family. The first major league strikeout you have is against Bobby Witt J R pass one to left center but hangs up for Teodosio makes the catch. Garcia will gets it in. Garcia goes to third one ball, one strike. Here’s a slow bouncer should get Faris out of the inning. Throws out Perez to end it. Mitch Faris leaves that runner at third and pitches a scoreless inning in his major league debut lineup turns over for zack Netto is hit by a pitch to begin the game, knocks it down with a dive to his in time to get him jaw dropping stuff from Bobby Wid Jr. Once again, there many shortstop got an arm like that. Are we lucky to watch him every day, don’t take it for granted. And so the Royals with Bobby Wood Jrs defense and two clutch strikeouts from Mike Lorenz in cover to the bottom of the third and no score that brings up Bobby Witt struck out his first time Faris first big league strikeout. Great swing sprained to the right field corner, Taylor can’t get there and it bounces over his head. Bobby Jr is off of the races headed for third and a dazzling diving play in the top half of the inning. Now he shows off the wheels with a triple in the bottom half of the inning. Now the infield is in for Vinney and he swings and it’s a fly ball to left field, moving toward the line is Lugo, he’s at the line, Bobby tags and he can jog home and he gets a sack fly RB I and the Royals lead one in the third. And for Vinny, that is his 95th RB I of the year Farris has been outstanding tonight. Like he might be at the end of his performance here. We’ll see the bullpen is up and Montgomery to be congratulating Faris there for five very strong innings in his first big league game. Extremely impressive. The only way this major league debut could be better for Mitch Faris at this point is if the Angels get a couple of runs here and put him in line for the win slap to left the base, hit a man on here. They could put Faris in line for the win if they can score twice in this inning. Here is joe Adell who singled his first time bounced out back to the pitcher in his last at bat. There’s a fly ball to left Joe Adle tags one and the Angels have the lead as Adele sends one way back. Wow, that was about three quarters of the way up. The bleachers in left field. A says hello to that breaking ball. That is so far 454 ft. So Adle Mitch Ferris is in line for the win in his major league debut, Chris Taylor crushes a double the leadoff here in the seven to go with a fastball there like you said. And now Oswald Perez right hand batter, there’s a liner down the right field line base hit, it bounces to the corner and extends the Angel lead. Taylor scores. Perez is around second. He’ll hold there. It’s an RB I double and it’s 3 to 1. Halo. Look at all those extra base hits so far. Halo hit everything hard the other way, fly ball to right. This is for the catch will make his way to third long throw too late. And now zack Netto who is zero for two and he was hit by a pitch. There’s one of the backstop, here comes the runner from third Perez with the flip pitch too late. That’s why it was so important to tag up to go to his speed results in a run on the wild pitch. Angels lead 4 to 1 always like that when you take that extra base force the defense to make a throw to get you out because it takes away that nasty pitch and the time gets away from Perez and another run scores second hit tonight for Taylor. He’s been on base three times down the line nice from garcia, great stretch from Pas Quentin into foul territory. That’s a beauty from both corners. One out. Now, Taylor in scoring position for doubled Taylor home in the seventh inning and he scored on the wild pitch. There’s a line drive base hit that will move Taylor to third base as has his second hit tonight. The Angels have not scored more than four runs in a game since the middle of August when they were in Sacramento. They can get to number five right here. If Teodosio can bring home Taylor drive center field, they should get the run home backing up. Is Bell makes the catch the runners tag. Taylor comes in an insurance run for the Angels. Teodosio gets the RB I Kenley Jansen, the not a save situation. 294 A which has been a really good year for Jensen and now it is Carter Jensen’s time. How about that? Ovation for 22 year old Carter Jensen from right here in Kansas City, Missouri didn’t even have to say his name. They started cheering when they saw his number for the newest member of the Royals. A third round pick by the Royals back in 2021 out of Park Hill High School. Just about 25 minutes from here. Swing and a miss strike three. Say good night to the Royals. And the Wingate University baseball program will never be the same Mitch Farris in his major league debut is the winner after a fabulous outing and the Angels beat the Royals 5 to 1.

Why is is when the Angels WIN, it takes forever to post the Highlights… but lose, boom there it is?! Anywho.. great pitching, and Jo going OFF with that monster Big Fly. Great job, Mitch!! Just ANOTHER Halo Victory!
Please trade ADELL TO Dodgers or Rangers for 3 minor league pitching prospect
Thank you Lord for giving us ALL the talents and abilities to perform for your Glory. Amen.
Peraza is good after all, we don't need Cabadas, just DFA him
Adell's home run helped Faris win in his first appearance.
What a debut for Mitch Farris he kept his composure after that sac fly and he was amazing! Still a work in progress for Mitch tho

Welp. It's been a decent year, royals. It's time to pack it up and concentrate on next year. Although I see a lot of trades coming for lower end salary players. Typical royals. You're consistently inconsistent.
Royals have absolutely no killer instinct whatsoever. Pathetic.
If the Angels were the only team in AL west to win a game tonight. It shows how disappointing the division has been this season
What a nice, normal, fun angels game.
CT and Peraza was a good pick up for the Angles
Let's GOOOOOOO HALOS!!!
The Los Angeles Angels are 65-73π΄βͺοΈπΌπ
My favorite catcher let's get more hits next time please O'hoppe but the good thing is many batters showed up this game which is greatπ
Why wasn't this Farris kid brought up a MONTH ago..?!?
He's got more poise on the mound than any other Angel Starting Pitcher I've seen this year..

Dear Royals please try Caglianone and Jensen Back to Back in the lineup, they'd totally pick each other up. Im talking lower half of the order of course. Or at least start em and keep em hot. They have a chemistry similar Pasquatch and Bobby.
Anywho what do I know. Im just a Royal peasant lol
6:57 Avila looks great!
