Why Would The Saints CUT J.T. Gray To Keep An Emergency QB Like Jake Haener!?

The Saints have moved Jake Hayner to the active roster. So that does in fact fill the void left by safety JT Gray. I’m not surprised that they’re adding her to the active roster. What I don’t think makes sense is why you released JT Gray to sign the emergency quarterback to the active roster. I I could hear the argument for letting go of JT Gray if it was to sign someone to the active roster at a position where you were really thin. I guess it begs the question, what’s more valuable, having Jake as an emergency quarterback or having JT Gray as the guy that’s going to make all your tackles on special teams? I’d rather have JT Gray make all the tackles and special teams because if Jake Hayner is playing, you’re screwed anyway.

  1. Bro, Saints signed a DT after letting JT go! A player added to the PS & a player elevated to the active roster is what happened. JT Grey is a special teams only player & most teams are no longer employing players that cant get on the field outside of special teams. They released him because they wanted to & no one else cares as much as Matt. It seems like whats more valuable to the Saints is to piss Matt off until he goes into cardiac arrest! Matt should just call Mickey out to a bare knuckles brawl because Mickey is what this rant is all about! Matt you are getting petty!

  2. I hope this is a one game thing and the thought process is that no one on the practice squad was ready. I don't know what Jakes value is but there's gotta be something there. Idk

  3. I don't understand it either and I'm a Cardinals fan. The Cardinals are way better than most people think, they're going to win 12 games this year, including Sunday at New Orleans. Why would you release a guy who was a four-time captain and a stalwart on special teams?

It's not like having a third quarterback on the roster is going to beat a team that has a top 10 defense and a top 10 offense.

  4. The special teams that’s now irrelevant in the NFL? The special teams that had the rules changed where there’s hardly any kick returns, got it. So you’d rather a useless guy hanging around, understood

  5. Probably cuz you don’t need an all pro gunner that can only play special teams in the new NfL with the new kick off rules .. learn the game brother you’re just complaining to complain .
