The Cowboys Could Surprise the Eagles on Opening Night #nfl #dakprescott #dallascowboys #eagles

The Dallas Cowboys are starting their season as a two-score underdog in Thursday night’s season opener. That is unheard of. Normally, the season opener is a match up between two teams which are projected to be the best in the league. This game is supposed to be competitive, but I have not seen a single person not affiliated with Dallas pick them to win. Everybody thinks the Eagles are going to run them over, and that probably will be what happens. But let’s not pretend there isn’t a path for Dallas to win this game. And no, it’s not Kenny Clark stopping the run. This is not the same Eagles defense that won the Super Bowl. The depth in their front seven isn’t there. Jaylen Carter and Nolan Smith are the only two players in that unit who can get pressure by themselves. As long as Tyler Booker is not a complete liability, Dallas is one of the best interior offensive lines in the league. And their passing game won’t be missing out on much if they keep one of their tight ends in for an extra few seconds to block Smith before releasing. I don’t care how good you think Quinn Yan Mitchell is. Leaving him by himself with Cidi Lamb or Adory Jackson by himself with George Pickins will not go well. This Cowboys offensive line will hold up a lot better than the Chiefs did in the Super Bowl. And unlike Kansas City, Dallas has people who can get open. Dak Prescott will pick this secondary apart if Vic Fanio can’t get his defense home. If Dallas is able to turn this game into a track meet through the air, they’ve got a chance. They can upset Philadelphia.
