Andrew Alvarez SHINES In A Historic Debut For The Washington Nationals
An eventful day for the Washington Nationals as Andrew Alvarez solidifies himself in the Nationals history books. I’m Ryan Clary from Locked on Nationals. And the Nationals win game one against the Miami Marlins of a score of two to nothing. And the Nationals offense today was thanks to only three hits by the Washington Nationals. Again, a big hit by Dalen Ly later on in the game. He had that triple there. That was awesome to see. his fifth of the season. His OPS is north of 700 and also another two hit game by Luis Garcia Jr. Small day for the offense. That was all that happened. But Andrew Alvarez made his major league debut and the 26-year-old did not disappoint. Carried a no hitter later on into the fifth inning of his first outing as a Washington National. He was the first National to go five plus innings pitched and had zero earned runs for his major league debut. What an outing by the kid. We’ll have much more about Andrew Alvarez and also the 28-year-old catcher CJ Stubs making his major league debut as well. Really cool to see that battery combo today. And of course, we’ll talk all about this and much more on tomorrow’s Locked on Nationals.
