Phillies vs. Brewers Game Highlights (9/4/25) | MLB Highlights
Right back at it for a matinee in Milwaukee. The roof is open on a beautiful day for baseball featuring the best two teams in the national league. The Brewers picked up win number 86 last night and secured the season series over the Philadelphia Phillies. Peralta and Suarez. What a pitching matchup we have this afternoon. Freddie Peralta Rocket has been his best season as a big leaguer. It’s been incredible watching him his last 14 starts. He’s 11 and one. He gave up one earned run in the month of August making start number seven against the Phillies. He has yet to win. He’s 0 to 2 but a good earned run average at 364. Rob Thompson has Trey Turner back in the leadoff spot, a swing and a miss and that’s how it starts for fastball. Freddie gets a fastball strikeout of Trey Turner for ball four and that’s the 93rd walk of the year for Kyle and it brings Bryce Harper up that one off the end of the bat. That’s Collins out to right field today makes the play for out number two, one and two on Real Muto Peralta throws and he struck him out fastball on the outside corner. 95 in Real Muto caught looking Rangers Suarez, one of the best lefties in the game. He’s been really good. The Phillies signed him in 2012 out of Venezuela. He’s been with the Phillies for eight seasons now. He can start number six against the Brewers. Jackson Chio is in left field and he’ll lead off swing and a miss strikeout number one and 125 of the year for ranger to bring up isaac Collins one and two. A called strike three right on the outside part of the plate beautifully placed pitch. Contreras able to dump it into center field off the end of the bat. Good piece of hitting by Contreras no score bottom of the first runner on two outs and a 1 to 2 pitch swinging a bouncer past the mound. Scott has it. He’ll flip it to Turner, who’s there. It’s a 46 fielder’s choice ground out side is retire Peralta back on the mound here at American Family field after scoreless first inning, two strikeouts for him on 19 pitches. He’s having his best year as a big league pitcher and a called strike three as he rings the bell on brandon Marsh. Second consecutive called strike three from Peralta. Bring up Harrison Bader, a swing and a miss. It’s another fastball for Peralta for a strikeout his fourth that will bring Max Kepler to the plate. Kepler lines one down the right field line that was a hanger and it’s going to be in for an extra base hit. It goes to the corner. Kepler’s thinking about three and Then he puts the brakes on. That was a heck of a throw coming in by isaac Collins to hold him to a double two out opportunity here for a ball 2 to 2. The count with two outs, ball center field Perkins right there and the inning is over 91 and two for the Phillies Stotts first A B of the day two for four on Monday was not in the lineup yesterday. A swing and a miss. He got him on a breaking ball that time, a curve seven pitch battle but Peralta strikes out Bryson ST, here’s Schwarber, the pitch ball to second base ranging to his left is Monasterio and retires Schwarber. It’s a 123 inning for Freddy Peralta in the top of the third. Isaac Collins. The batter called out on strikes back in the first inning. Suarez has been good and he’s been efficient. He has been all over the strike zone and isaac Collins rolls into second base. He’s got a two out double good swing. Collins the switch hitter this time off the right side, his natural side and Rocky put a charge into that. He’s a swing and a weekly hit ground ball to second and will throw out Contreras and the Rangers says something to William Contreras who never dropped his broken bat, he can put that in the kindling pile for later. So it’s a walk to Harper and the Phillies have their leadoff man aboard here in the 4th, 1st time they’ve had their leadoff man on brings up JTR Muto Contreras have been the workhorses most games at catcher this season in the big leagues pitches off the hands out to short right field. It’s going to drop for a hit. Phillies have 1st and 2nd with nobody out. Brandon Marsh coming up Then Bader Marsh and Bader strikeout victims in the second inning and down he goes, Peralta takes advantage of Marsh not even close. Look how far underneath and behind that fastball he is and here’s Bader. Now, Peralta with his sixth strikeout, five of the six on the fastball strikes out on the change up. Here you go. You see the movement on that pitch and that missed outside with the changeup. So Freddy ends up walking Kepler. The bases are now loaded. Peralta with two walks and a hit in this inning and they are loaded early in the game. But a big spot in this game coming here in the fourth, he’s still fastball thread, no matter how he develops. He’s always got the number one. His eighth strikeout is his biggest Phillies slam the bats down and the bases are left loaded. Vaughn’s base hit to right started the inning. Durbin. Now, a single. He’s three for six in this series. Ranger needs a ground ball for two. Let’s see if Jansen squares he does and he bunts that one right to Harper. It’s bunted hard. He goes to third in time to get the force play. Great anticipation by Bryce and not a great bunt by Danny Jansen. It’s monster who flied out to center his first time up. Towering. Pop up out to short left turner’s under it. Phil Fly has been called. The ranger is one out away from working out of this jam. The Brewers had two on and nobody out. Now. It’s going to take a clutch two out hit. Perkins almost came up with a clutch two out hit back in the second inning and a called strike 391 at the knees. What a job of pitching for Ranger Suรกrez 91 pitches and climbing for Freddie Peralta’s got Schwarber two hole from the stretch. Here he comes. Curveball popped him up shallow right out is Monasterio in his Collins. It will be Collins making the catch and the top of the fifth inning is over quick and easy for Freddy Peralta. Short start for Fred Peralta Brewers have been trying to minimize his outings here recently down the final stretch cannot win today as he exits in a scoreless game, a leadoff walk. That’s the second walk issued in this one by Rangers. It’s the third time the leadoff batter has been on Vaughn 1 to 2 on the day. Vaughn clips one left center, the base of the wall. It stays in Contreras to third and it’s a double for andrew Vaughn and the Brewers are set up in the sixth caleb Durbin at the plate. He’s two for two infield comes up for Philadelphia bouncer back to second. Runners will not advance big time out one away. We’ll see what they do now with Danny Jansen at the plate. Fly ball center field, Contreras tagging a third. It’s not deep. May not be deep enough to score. Bader is under it. He makes the catch the throw to the plate. He holds outstanding two outs. He would have been a dead duck if he came home. Moo has hit in 11 straight games. He’s popped out and he has flied out bouncing ball to third balls. Got it behind the bag across the diamond in time. What a job by Ranger Suรกrez 2nd and 3rd and nobody out and nobody scores with only two hits this afternoon. Kepler’s double and the ball off the knuckles hit by JT is zero for two and he can’t get to it. It goes to the corner. He misjudged it balls on his way to second turning and going to third and he’s going to get there. It will be a misjudged triple for a ball his third of the year. This almost looks like a guy who is an outfielder that isn’t used to playing right field with the right hander, the ball slicing away. Now it’s up to Turner, the hits leader in the national league. He’s hope for three today for a go ahead base hit here, line drive to left field base hit Trey Turner comes through and the Phillies take the lead here in the top of the seventh inning RB I single 68 of the year and it’s one nothing Phillies. A lot of hitters don’t go into that two strike mode, but that’s exactly what he did. This is the split that was down a really good pitch by myers and he goes down to get it, hits it off the end of the bat, puts it in play and picks up the RB I once again, Andrew Vaughn delivering with his third hit and there is the base runner you need the tying run. Bowers will run for Vaughn gets by him. It’s going to be a ball and Then an E two I throw by Real Muto and Then an error on top of it, that one and now the 90 1 to 2 ready to go fly ball. Center field Bader is under it waiting for it makes the catch at the inning is over. The Brewers are zero for 10 with runners in scoring position today, job not done yet. Bryson ST hits with a runner at third base and two outs. Lights one into right field, a base hit, it’s going to scoop to the wall Bader comes clapping across home plate. RB I double for Bryson Scott and the Phillies lead it 2 to 0 leaves the pitch out over the middle of the plate but a nice piece of hitting by Bryson ST. This ball is supposed to be a fastball away. He pulls it on the inside part and he drops the head on it and picks up a huge backbreaking two out double to give the Phillies a little bit more breathing room. Phillies trying to close out a series victory over the Milwaukee Brewers. It is the 63rd game this season for Joan Duran. He has 25 saves and 28 opportunities. Three and one fly ball Bader just robbed and there are two outs here in the ninth inning. You can tell as he was approaching the wall that he was thinking about robbing this home run the whole way and he does real good chance of going out of the ballpark. And that man, Joan Duran pretty happy about it. Frelich will pitch hit here for Perkins is the final hope for the Brewers in this one swing and a foul tip. He got him and the Phillies have shut out the Brewers 2 to 0 and they take two of three from Milwaukee and they head into Miami with a six game lead in the National League East

WHY THE F IS PAYAMPS BACK???!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!??!?!?!?!
Bohm Bader and Marsh they can never hit a quality pitcher. There scouting report must be so obvious.
I think Bohm might have to sit for the rest of the year, itโs just not his year unfortunately
If you take out terrible Aaron Nola Phillies probably sweep the Brewers which is impressive. They are playoff ready as long as he doesn't start.
Tre turner is the best shortstop in baseball. He should be the NL MVP this year but people love the homer so that's not going to happen
Nice series win a nice fresh Oliva
This was a classic pitching duel between the top 2 NL teams
This is a post-season preview.
THAT BADER ROB WAS BEAUTIFUL ๐๐๐
I'm not sure how Vaughn only has a 0.240 average. Seems like every Brewers highlight I watch the man just can't stop hitting.
Phillies might win World Series

Looks like Collins allowed extra bases on hits he should have played as singles. Instead he tried to make the catch, one on a diving play, and allowed the ball to get past him.
Great catch in the 9th.
The Philadelphia Phillies are 81-59๐ดโช๏ธ๐
7:50 what is that thing Bohm is holding in his teeth? I've seen multiple players hold that thing after they get on first but I don't know what it is
Bader has been fkn great
Do not care about Philadelphia so what if Milwaukee might have the best record they are not the best team in major league baseball go Tigers
