Ok
*well
I appreciate your optimism, I’m not there yet myself though
Convinced me.
Uh uh. Superman does good. He’s doing well. You need to study your grammar, son.
Edit: okay evidently we don’t have a lot of 30 Rock fans here.
Based on what?
I thought this too in April
🤮
Hes either really on or really off, even last year in the WS with the Dodgers he had one start where he was roughed up pretty good and one where he pitched very effectively. For sure the WC of our team.
Jack Flaherty in the 2nd half
* ERA: 4.97
* FIP: 2.85
* xFIP: 3.65
* BABIP: .355 BABIP
* K%: 24.7
* BB%: 6.6
* HR Allowed: 3
He’s allowing a lot more contact in the second half and unlucky for him a lot of the contact has come as base hits. Luckily not as many HR’s as the first half. So if Jack starts to strike guys out more consistently he’ll probably be great, but at the very least he might get more lucky on balls in play and be better than he has.
Completely agree
Great! Now let’s put a few together.
All we have is hope. It’s been an inconsistent year overall for him and most of his mates doing the hurl. Tough not fade him…
Splitting hairs here, but he (usually) seems to have a single bad inning or so rather than just completely sucking for the day. I really don’t expect that to change, but he did look good his last outing, so hopefully that’s a sign that he’s on the upswing.
As far as our pitching goes overall, all we can do is hope that we get plenty of run support when our guys struggle. This just isn’t one of those teams where I think we can expect the pitching to pull us through consistently- 4-5 runs a game will be needed to win most games (unless it’s a Skubal day).
I disagree, he wasn’t good for the Dodgers in the playoffs. Really need to see if Melton can go back to being a starter, know he’s young but I have no faith in anyone but Skubs at this point
Me do good at internet comment.
Mize, Flaherty, and Morton will all go 7 shutty and Skubal will give up 6 because that’s the kinda bs that happens in October
Pretty sure he is tipping pitches. That royals start was something else. Obviously the velo isn’t what it used to be but it was still wild to see seven straight hits, all of them hard, and some on some decent pitches. The fastball is not good enough to be effective on its own, and if people know when the knuckle curve is coming he’s basically useless
I think it’s just let him start hoping for the best and have the bullpen ready. I want Melton to start too. I have more hope for jack then mize and morton
Please note the snap his curve has in this clip that has been absent for the last couple months. Although his last start was positive and the snap was back. I’m hopeful! Mostly because there is no other option.
