That’s super cool. Cubs debit card. This was a bludgeoning. Four home runs. A three-run jack from Dansby. Swanson was the big blow. Cubs got it rolling. Javier Assad was solid. Not great, solid. Did have some bad defense behind him because PCA lost the ball in the sun. and you could see him go that way and the ball fell for a triple and then the guy hit a home run. So all of a sudden two outs you should have the inning over. It ends up two-run score. They did get it to 85. Cubs had had an 8-2 lead and then they put on the accelerator. Boom. Just slammed it down. Home runs broke it open. The bullpen was okay. Not great, but they win it going away. 11-5 your final. Let me tell you how this one went down. And the Cubs jumped them early. It’s one- nothing as Hap scores. Nico her doubles. Seiya scores. Dansby three-run homer. 5 nothing before you even settled in your seat. And then Reese Maguire in the second, a home run. Then Luis Garcia, the two-run home run I just talked about in the fourth. Willie Castro, a double that scores two. And the route is on. But the D the Nationals say we’re coming back. You have Lyall, he gets a triple. Garcia sack sack fly. And then we get to the six. And here’s where the Cubs put it away. PCA another sack fly. Nico her sixth home run of the season. And then Ian Hap in the eighth, his 20th of the season. And the Cubs win it by a final of 11-5. Let’s check out our Hooters wing and its starting pitching matchup. Not a good day to beat Jake Irvin. He was horrible today. He’s 8 and 11 now with three and a thirds, five hits, seven runs, all earned, two Ks, four walks, two home runs. Not a good day for the right-hander of the Nationals for the Cubbies. Javier Assad picks up the win. He is two and one. He gave you a solid unspectacular outing of five and a third. Three hits, four runs, all earned four Ks, two walks, and the one home run that should never have come to the plate if PCA doesn’t lose it in the sun. But those things happen. The Barar Kitridge Rogers and Porter Hodgej finish it off and the Cubs win the ball game. player of the game. Uh, I could go a few ways here, but I think I’m going to go Dansby Swanson because that three-run home run, everybody relaxed. Made it 5 nothing. So, Danby Swanson, you are the apt player of the game. Now, let’s talk about what’s upcoming because you have a chance. That’s not a good team. You got to put that team down. You got to win. I always say one batter, one pitch, one out at a time. Guess what? You got to sweep this team. That team stinks. You have got to beat them tomorrow and Sunday. And then you go to Atlanta and take on a Braves team you should have swept last week at Wrigley. So, time to put the accelerator down. Craig Council, I don’t want to see any of these getaway day lineups anymore. Kyle Tucker did not play today, but Craig did say he’ll probably be used as a DH and back in the lineup this weekend. The Chicago Cubs were without Kyle Tucker on Friday nursing a calf injury, but they didn’t take long to get going in this one. They had a 5-0 lead in the 1st, compliments of a big 3-run HR by Dansby Swanson to get the homer barrage going. Nico Hoerner and Ian Happ also homered and the Cubs ran away with this one late as they attempt for one final push at chasing down the Milwaukee Brewers atop the NL Central. Kap says it’s time to hammer down the accelerator and that they have to sweep the Nationals. They’re a bad baseball team and the Brewers are playing the Pirates. He says no more mediocre lineup attempts by Craig Counsell if they have a chance to sweep away Washington on Sunday.
