San Francisco Giants vs St. Louis Cardinals – FULL GAME HIGHLIGHTS | September 5, 2025 MLB Season

Cardinals celebrate the 1985 National League Champion Cardinals. And speaking of championships, Brad, two of baseball’s most distinguished franchises square off tonight. Yeah, look, it is going to be a lot of fun. The Giants and the Cardinals have had a whole lot of big games over the last couple of years and pretty big series here for both these clubs. Get game one off on the right foot tonight. Elliot Ramos is the Giants left fielder and CB Buckner says Ste Reich won and we are underway against San Francisco last year. Little pop in shallow center. Victor froze for a moment. Comes charging in and makes a terrific sliding catch. 30 homers driven in 97 at this point. Be very very careful. Anything middle in driven to right center. That ball is long gone. Another first inning homer for the Giants. Denver’s admired that. It’s one to nothing San Francisco. One is homegrown. All three of those outside the organization. Got a lot of money wrapped up in them. Another one shot toward left center. Adamus drives this one to the warning track and wall. And that one’s going to go. Backto back homers in the Giants first. It’s in 26 of 29. Make it 27 of 30. That one inside the bag fair. He’s on his way to second. Throw is a little off target. And it’s three straight extra base hits for the Giants. Smith with a double. His 11 here. Big hole for him right side with two strikes. And a good sweeper gets him to swing and miss. So McGrevy needed that for Ichiro Suzuki and drives this one to shallow center and that’ll be caught by Victor Scott and that will retire the side. Backto back homers Denver’s and Adamus kick off the series with a bang. Swinging a shot to right right at Gilbert and he’ll squeeze that for out number one. Protein one, two on the ground to second and easy pickings for Casey Schmidt and Nolan Gorman is next. 14 of the season driven toward right. Gilbert going back into the warning track and makes the catch and that will retire the side. Gorman and there’s a swing and a miss. That sweeper is biting tonight. Second strikeout and he’s set down three in a row. One-1 pitch popped up. Firm mean drifts out. Walker comes in. Firmine says he’s got it and does. And Bailey’s retired. Two out. And a swing and a miss. Big pitch by McGrevy. He strikes out. He’s got three punch outs. High fly ball toward left. Ramos has room at the edge of the track and there’s out number one mentioned. Another chance for Ramos in left into the corner and to the track. Casey Schmidt shaded up the middle. Strike three top of the zone at 98. Walker didn’t agree and Seymour has his first strike out of the night. And that one is down the line and fair. That’ll kick off the sidewall and Lee on his way to third. The throw to second is late. So Schmidt with a double there at second and third. Nobody out. You couldn’t have. This kid’s first big league homer. Came August 17th against the Rays. He tries to split the gap in left. Victor chases that down and makes a great diving catch. It’ll score a run, but it prevents another. What a play by Victor Scott II. Gilbert a sacrifice fly to make it three to nothing. Wind to left field. It’s four to nothing. So three hits in the inning for the Giants. Give Bailey his 43rd RBI. That’s chopped to third. That is a fair ball. Long throw skipped off the turf. It’s not in time. Rolls legs out an infield hit as hard-nosed as they come. That one lined toward the gap. Walker cuts it off, but that’s going to score another run. They’re at first and third. Evers has another RBI. That brings home Bailey. Ramos all the way around to third. And the Giants extend their lead. It’s five. Take this baby another inning if he can. Broken bat on the ground to third. Second base one. Ball dropped. They get the force at second, but a run will score. Smith originally a Met drives this one a long way to left. New Bar is there and that will retire the side. The Giants pick up four more runs. They do that on five hits. One base runner a walk tonight and a broken bat out to second. Schmidt for out number one. Interesting to watch down the stretch. See how all these teams shake out in the wild card. First two ball count for Seymour and Gorman rolls out again. They are catching him off the end of the bat. Need to hit that many long balls on the ground to first. Smith scoops that up. Look at that perfect feed to Seymour who picks up his fifth ground ball out. It was hit 353. So you’re back with your former teammates. What’s that like for you, Willie? uh just brings back old memories and uh I was with the Yankees in the minor leagues and I would see George Hendricks, you know, see the Cardinals play and I see George Hendricks in that uniform. I was like, “Wow, that’s a nice uniform.” Now getting a chance to learn under John J. Krooks throws, short hops, and what a pick and tag by Mason W. Gilbert’s thrown out for the first time. Jimmy Krooks gets us out of the fifth inning. Broken bat. Another one of those. And Schmidt with a strike takes care of Saji. That advances the runner off the end of the bat to center and Lee’s going to catch that up the middle. Adamus can’t get it. That’s into center field and Crooks will come home and score. Victor Scott gets the Red Birds on the board. That makes it a 6-1 game. Runner goes, pitch popped up and two. Shallow right. Gilbert got a late jump. Staggers a bit but puts that away and the Cardinals settle for a run on two hits. And what’s really been exasperating for them as that one’s rifled past Gorman into the right field corner. Chapman around second on his way to third. Matt Williams will send him. Lee flying around second. He’s going to stand at third with his 11th triple. Just past 9:00 and a base hit. It is indeed 8 to one. So Fernandez hasn’t fooled anybody in the seventh. Single, triple, single, and brought home a run with a sack fly. This one popped up over by the Giants dugout and Crooks gets there. And now the 2- two on the ground. Mason’s got that mean will complete the throw to first and the double played. Retires the side. Two more. That one popped toward third. Easy play for Chapman. He’s got that. Crooks one for three. O2 pitch for Walker. Popped it up. Chapman’s got that and two men are down. Victor in the air towards center, but Lee is there and Beck will retire the side. Off we go to the eighth with a handicap. I got a very large one. I’m getting a lot of strokes. That one stroke toward left center. That is going to fly way out of here. Herrera with a long home run. four homers in his last seven games. Did he go? Yes, he did. Hamson knew it. And that will retire the side. Ivon Herrera has an offensive highlight for the Cardinals. A long home run number 14. The house line swing has one out. Gilbert’s retired on strikes. strike three and Bailey knew that it was this over the weekend. Popped up and Crooks throws away the mask and has that one back spin and it finds the leather for a one two three ninth inning. Last badge tipped and caught and there’s strikeout number two for Beck. one away in the ninth with 3530 strikeouts. Justin Berlander that’s it to left. Ramos will squeeze that. Two men are out. The one-two pitch, swing, and a miss. Wow. Jordan Walker retired on strikes. Giants blast away. Set a season high in hits. They score eight runs. And the San Francisco Giants, Brad, have now won 11 of their last 12

  1. If the giants didn’t go on a ridiculous slump after the all star break and just would’ve went .500 they’d be sitting pretty right now but I guess this makes the last month interesting
