The offense has been inconsistent, but it boils down to pitching. If the team got the kind of pitching it received for most of the first half, we’re comfortably talking about a wild card spot.
It’s crazy that ownership is just alright with this.

162 games is usually enough where luck does balance out. They were getting lucky in May. They have been somewhat unlucky lately.
But .500s-ville is more or less right were every projection system pegged the team at the start of the year and, well, .500s-ville here we are.
Sounds about right!
Only a few more weeks fellas, then it’s hockey season

Only 6 games under is better than I expected. Roughly where we were in the beginning of may end of April. Feels worse though. Recent series probably have helped.
Yeah, let me rush on down to the old ballpark and spend my money on this Cardinal team alright.

Only two losses to go to catch the Rockies. Twinkies might be out of our grasp. (And, if we think Cards’ attendance is bad? Post-trade deadline Target Field is like a black hole.)
