Cynics in here aside, the Yanks are doing what we all really want: they’re trying to win, but also safeguarding Judge’s future. He’s out there so he and Stanton can both stay in the batting order. They’re trying to compensate for his injured arm in the same way they have to compensate for Stanton’s legs. The team needs wins and he hits the Jays well.

As much as I think Boone is an idiot, you don’t want to telegraph limitations to other teams (even if they might be obvious).
