Minkah Fitzpatrick meets with the media | Miami Dolphins
I think I saw you having a conversation with Mike during practice. Um, what what is the relationship like and what what’s this process for you during camp? How do you think things are going? Yeah. Um, I think it’s going well. Um, I think my biggest thing right now is I’m just trying to get to know him and I think he’s trying to get to know me. Um, you know, we’re coming from two two different programs, two different walks of life. Uh, and I think, you know, the most important thing is being transparent. Uh, communicating, you know, how we feel when when we feel it. uh being honest, being truthful, uh communicating, you know, what I could do better, uh and and vice versa. And I think we we’re starting to form that relationship where we trust one another, um and you know, we go out there and do what we got to do. Have you ever been a part of the secondary where it’s completely your guys first time? There’s no like um Yes. Yes. Yeah. multiple times throughout throughout my career. Yeah. How long is that cohesion usually? You guys just ready and firing on week one, you know, over the course of that first game. You feeling or like I said uh earlier, we’re just going to go out there and play our game. You know what I’m saying? Uh even though we don’t have a lot of reps together, we’re going to we’re going to have no gray in our communication, no gray in our scheme, and uh we’re going to go out there and focus on what we got to do and do that at a high level. A lot of people weren’t necessarily high when Daniel Jones, you know, obviously Daniel Jones won competition. What is something that he does well? Yeah. Um I think he he throws a a really good uh deep ball. I think um he he can extend plays with his legs and uh get the ball down the field or get the ball to open receiver or run the ball. You know what I’m saying? uh out the back field. So, uh it’s going to be a a a whole defense job of stopping a player like him. We got to have great rush lanes. You got to play tight coverage in the back end. Can’t allow the ball to to go over our head cuz he has the arm talent and and the receivers to to get it down the field. So, uh I think, you know, we have to try those are his strengths, but we got to try and uh stop him.
