Tyreek Hill meets with the media | Miami Dolphins

I feel I feel amazing. I’m feeling great. Um first time practicing this week in a while. You know, I’m still, you know, doing my thing. Um moving fast. I’m get getting in and out of route. So, I feel amazing, man. It’s great to be back with the team. You said a few minutes ago that maybe the stuff with the relationship with him is a little blown out of proportion from what you said. What do you think? Where do you think things are on and off the field for you guys as you enter the season? I mean, that’s typically what you guys do. blow it out of proportion. You know what I’m saying? Um that’s kind of you know um how you know the views and you know it gets spreaded all over all over the internet. But at the end of the day like me and Tula know exactly where we stand at. Um he knows and I and I and I know um that we both have a brother, you know what I’m saying? Um for the rest of our life and we gonna continue to build, man, each and every day, you know what I’m saying? Like brothers fight all the time. Like I I fight with my brothers. Like we go at it all the time, you know what I’m saying? But at at the end of the day, we know what the main goal is. We still family. You know what I’m saying? So, we going to continue to get better each and every day. That said, to a good start training camp, saying that the relationship needed to be rebuilt. What do you think was the turning point in camp for uh for you and the team to get back uh on that same page? I just feel like um at the end of the day, I’m going to continue to, you know, do my thing, you know, which is, you know, show up to practice each and every day. um work my tail off, be in the building, um be the last one, you know, leave the building, um show up in the film room. So, I’m I’m doing all the small things, man. Um what led me to this point of being the player that I am. So, very grateful, you know what I’m saying? Um for the opportunity, I’m blessed. So, I’m never going to take it for granted, man. Um I’ve had a chance this year to like uh reset and uh look back and you know, here I am now. So, feel great. not being a captain. How do you take that? Well, at the end of the day, I feel like it’s about the team and um I don’t need a title to be able to lead. Uh I’m going continue to push the standard, you know, what uh coach and these guys are pushing in the locker room and I’m and I’ve always been a guy that um that um led by that uh led by example. So, captain thing is great, but like I say, I’m going to continue to do the small things, man, which is work hard, show up each and every day and bust my tail for this team and and um try to win games. Ty, you’ve had your share of big games in this league, but several of them have happened on opening weekend. It seems like week one maybe brings out the best in you. I don’t know. How do you explain it? I don’t know. Uh the coaches just do a good job, man. Um, we have a great, you know, um, offensive coaches here, uh, and the O line. They do a real good job of, you know, protecting Tua and, uh, you know, like I I guess I’m just the lucky one, you know, um, to to, uh, be on the other side of of, um, making those plays. So, like I said, man, I’m very grateful, man. Um, never going to take it for granted. I’m going to continue to work and hopefully I have another big game. So, who knows? Tyreek, it sounds like Xavier and Howard is going to play a lot for the Colts, right? How did your practice battles go and how do you think Sunday might go? Uh X, he’s a great player, man. He’s been uh me and him came in came in together. He’s on year 10. So, he’s one of those guys uh who understands coverages uh who understands, you know, certain, you know, route, you know, um certain um routes. So, we got to be on top of our game, man. Uh he’s definitely a playmaker. Um and you know, for me, I think they got a real good secondary. They got X on one side, they got my former teammate in Kansas City, Traverus Ward. And um a guy I grew up playing against Kenny Moore. Um so those guys are loaded. man. You know, uh, everybody’s waiting to see, man. So, um, not going to say too much. We just going to wait and just see what, you know, we’ve been working on in training camp. I mean, OTAAS, training camp, you know, they say we do. That’s our motto around here. So, start off with a win. Like, what does that do to help start? That’ll be amazing, man. Obviously, um, starting off with a win, that’ll be great as far as like morale boosters for um, everyone in the locker room. So, we got a real good chance of doing it. All we got to do is just simplify a lot of things and, you know, don’t allow them to, you know, take take the game away from us and don’t make too many mistakes and we’ll be all right. Uh-huh. I feel great, man. I feel like Hey, so I’m one of those guys. I never be I never fall out of shape. You know what I’m saying? And um I’m always I feel like I’m going be like the hardest worker on the team no matter what cuz I’m I’m always do the small things. You know what I’m saying? Um whether that’s running after practice when nobody’s watching or whether that’s catching like 500 passes off the jugs um when nobody’s watching. So I’ve been doing all the small things right this whole entire time when nobody’s watching. So I can’t wait. Like I said I can’t wait to see man um to just see what happens. And obviously me and Tour uh I know that’s like a real big connection thing. So, I think we’ll be fine. We’ll just have to wait and see. Tell us about those dashes that you ran. How fun was that? Uh, I mean, I for me, man, it was all about just showing myself, man, because at the end of the day, I love track. I love track to death, man. Um, I always been a huge fan of it. And I feel like track conditioning always gets me ready for football. You know what I’m saying? So that’s something that I’ve always done ever since I’ve been in the league. So I’m going continue to do it, man. So cover to go. Well, at the end of the day, it’s not my decision, man. Uh it’s all up to the quarterback. You know what I’m saying? Like T, he’s one of those guys. Uh he can see the whole defense. So if he looks at me and give me a certain look, if he give me this look, y’all know what time it is. So, so what are some of the keys to reigniting the vertical? Uh, obviously, man, just protecting two of them, man. I feel like we got all the weapons to do it. You know what I’m saying? Like, we can do it all across the board. Like, we even can put a chain out there and run like some vertical routes, man. So, obviously the key thing is keeping one upright and and just allowing him to like throw the ball and you know, the rest will take care of the rest, man, because we all can catch and like we all are playmakers. What do you feel the offensive chemistry is right now? You being out of I know realistically we wanted to come together, but how do you see Well, for me, man, I feel like this is probably the closest team that I’ve been on since I’ve been in Miami. And as far as offensive chemistry, I feel like this is the best version of what I’ve seen the Miami Dolphins offense. And I’m not saying that because we’re in a new year. I’m saying that because I’ve seen, you know what I’m saying, like the journeys of all these guys and just the maturity of all these guys and how locked in all of these guys have been inside of the meeting room. And you know what? We got a great like bringing RP into like our life. Our receiver coach has done tremendous work for all of us. Um not only not only us but the tight ends, the running backs, everybody like so all of the coaches are like on it, man. So it’s a beautiful thing to see, man. Um like I say, this is probably the best version of our offense that I’ve seen. Why would you say so? My my dad always told me, man, pressure is opportunity. So, I mean, I feel like this is our year, man. Like, if we don’t do it this year, then then when? So, this is our opportunity.

  1. Tyreek’s gotten a lot of hate from this fanbase this offseason(and I won’t say it wasn’t warranted) but everything he’s said and done since the end of last year has been really amazing to see. Bounce back this year Reek and be the player everyone knows you can be!
