A’s vs. Angels Game Highlights (9/6/25) | MLB Highlights
from the Big A tonight on a warm night for baseball ahead of game two against the Athletics. Fiesta Angels here at the ballpark tonight. You say Kikuchi on the bub. One strikeout away from 1,000 for You say Kikuchi in his major league baseball career. He would be Kikuchi that is the fourth Japanese born pitcher in baseball history to reach 1,000 career strikeouts. Darvis Shadeonomo and Kenta Mietta. Here’s the 3-2 once again. And there it is. A strikeout number 1,000 for Usay Kikuchi. Doesn’t waste time. Gets Langaliers. Let’s save that baseball as he makes history. Yeah. Slider down and in with a punch out. 1,000th of his career. We’re putting that up on the board right now. And crowd recognizes a great moment. Rooker steps out. We give him a little time to acknowledge that strikeout. Japanese born player to reach 1,000 strikeouts here in the show. Darishnomo and Mietta. Very impressive. A drive right field on his horse. A long run and makes a nice running catch to retire. And that’s going to be the second straight walk here with two outs. Jacob Wilson who’s second in the American League with a 314 batting average. He will be the next hitter on one liner into left field. Curts will get the stop sign in third as it dropped right in front of Ward. Base hit for Wilson and the bases are loaded for Soderstrom now. Well, Eric Martin’s third base coach wisely holding up Nick Curts. Line drive to left. Will hang up in the air for War. He misplays it and it goes all the way to the wall. Kurt scores. Thomas scores and Wilson will score. What happened there? That ball just continued to sail. That ball continued to carry. Ball hit very hard from Sodstrom, but a play that Ward has made many a time. And you can see him just kind of get locked up expecting that ball to start coming down. And Kikuchi as he sees that ball get through Ward that look says it all. Just kind of beside himself. Uh little pop right to Neto. He’ll make the catch. Went back about 2 feet onto the outfield grass to gather that one in and it’s a dog on the mound. JT Gin 13th start for the sinker baller. Crowd is out 6’3 and that’ll bring up Yoan Monata. Lifted to center in comes Butler. He slows and makes the catch, trotting in and a one, two, three inning for JT Gin. One away. Lawrence Butler will be the next batter. Zack N. Come on, make a play, Zack. Make this look good. There you go. Brother thought he had a knock. Neto says, “No.” How tough a play is it, Gooby? Go in to your right and make that throw. Off balance and on the money. And that’s the that’s the part of his game right now on the backhand where everyone, you know, you go outs above average. There’s always a little bit of criticism there for Nettle. And I still don’t know why that is. Two quick outs here. Langelers will be the batter. Line drive over the leafing mana into the corner. Ward over to get it. Langalers will pull into second base. Standing up with a two out double. Langalers with a sweet swing on a slider from Kikuchi. Runner at second. Rooker will be the next batter. Is dumped into right on the run. Adele. It’s dropping fast and it gets down fair. Langelier scores. Rooker into second base. training places with an RBI double and now it’s four to nothing A’s backto back dub sacks what work trying to bite Kuchi off but good things happen to good people that one finds grass checks up Brookers into second trading places with Langelers just walked Curts again on four pitches runners at first and second two outs Thomas will be the batter driven to left field Ward going back Thomas the crank engine makes it a Seven to nothing A’s advantage. I talked about the patience of Nick Curts being something that could play into the hand of Kobe Thomas and how it means he’s going to get pitches to hit. You don’t want to deal with Kurts. Well, you don’t get to just overlook Kobe Thomas either. This is what can happen if you do. You don’t want any more traffic. Craig is waiting in the weeds for you. Two out hit. Angels have a pair on. We’ll see if the Angels can start taking a page out of the A’s book and get some runs with two outs. Yeah, they got to start pecking away here. One and two line drive. Gellof stabs it with a dive. Gets up, throws to first. What a play by Gillof. Ridiculous. All smiles from the A’s second baseman. Leathered Larseny up the middle and the A’s keep their seven to nothing lead. That’s out number one here in the bottom of the third. Two and two. Popped up. Shallow right. Hurts going out in foul. Brown and he makes the catch. Securing the out. The second out of the bottom of the third inning. Nearly went over the railing to make that catch. Well, I tell you, as much fun as we have watching guys play this game, you’re going to be hardressed to find another who has as much fun playing this game. And that’s Nick Curts. see him shoot a look down to the boys in the dugout after this and just kind of give them a oo. Oh yeah, that was good. Two outs in the inning throughout the batter. And that is rope to left. That’s going to be a base hit. A good swing for Mike. That ball was flush too like a hoppy swing. 109 off the bat. That was a slider down and away, but it was down. That’s trot zone. Moa at the play. Two down. Seven nothing. A’s hit center field. Butler going back. He’s got speed at the wall. Mike Trout’s going to round third. He’s going to be sent and Mo’s going to go all the way to third. Trouble for the A’s in the outfield and the Angels are on the board. But he could hit a baseball and he could hit a baseball hard. 107 off the bat there for Auda Makott. Thought he was going to get that one out off the wall. 31st RBI. Got another change up. We said how much the change up has been hit against Gim this year. That’s how strong he is at dead center field. That’s all his power off the wall. By the way, interesting watching Jacob Wilson. He’s been around the game a long time. His dad was a great short stop. Look how far he was running out there also to help out in the outfield. And the first pitch from Chase Silet. That’s ball one on Nick Curts. Two two pitch. Highf fly ball to center. Teodosio going back. He’s got no chance to get that baseball. 29th of the year. How about a rock shot for the big Amish. Eight to one. This baseball is absolutely melted. Once again, the big Amish. It’s now homer number 29 on the season. 10 more than the next rookie in tow. Churning up offense with a swing as smooth as butter, baby. I mean, that is just ridiculous juice the other way, man. It really is. That’s one of the more impressive homers I’ve seen him hit this year. Soderstrom is the batter with runners at the corners, no outs, and he hits a high chopper to the first baseman PZA. He’ll make the play unassisted over there, but coming in and scoring easily from third base will be Colby Thomas. The lead gets bigger. It’s now 9 to one. All right, so we’ve gotten to the point of the game where the Angels have gone to a position player to pitch, Scott Kingy. Last time he pitched a game, his rookie year with the Philadelphia Phillies, it’s unbelievable. And he’s and he strikes out. You got to throw at a 100. Talk about being below the hitting speed. That is well below. So backto back singles here against Kinkry. So this is going to be another pinch hitter. Carlos Cortez is going to be the batter. Cortez drives one to deep right. Adele going back. There’s his first in the big leagues. And you can see the smile on his face as he rounds the bases. Position player or not, it counts all the same. That is big league homer number one for Carlos Cortez. 12 to one. The first of his career comes against Scott Kery in the eighth inning of what was a 9 to1 game. 12 to one in favor of the A’s right now. And they have the bases loaded with Langelers at the plate. Shay fly ball to left. Lugo on the run. He’s not going to get there and it’s off the base of the wall. Hern scores. Gellof scores. It’s a two RBI single. 14 to1. Well, Angels fans voicing their frustration with how this ball game has unfolded here in the later stages. Langelers just missed one. Matthew Lugo getting a chance to swing the bat. First pitch. He drives that one. Hit pretty well right field and that one is gone for Lugo. First pitch other way and a home run. So that’s good to see. That’s some good opposite field power. When he first came up to the big leagues with the Halos, he had some great swings against some high lever pitchers out of the bullpen and did some serious damage. Fourth home run of the season. Good powerful swing on that one. Joe Adell is the batter now. Okay, Joe Adell crushes that one way back. Gone. Back-to- back pitches crushed. 34th home run of the season for Joe Adell. Getting oh so close to now 100 RBI’s. Now he’s lifting the baseball. That’s what you want to see from Joe Adell. Lifting the baseball. Now he’s hitting some balls in the air. Scott King is back out there to pitch here in the ninth inning. Goff has his second hit here in the last two innings. Leed cranks one to right. It’s hanging the line and gone. What I’m getting at is as JJ Blade grounds the bases, we’re going to start to see Willie McCyver warm up. Yeah. I mean, I I don’t see why not in a game like this. Save your arms. The lead for the A’s has gotten bigger. It’s now 17-3. Batter now will be Lugo. He’s had a homer since coming into the game. Put a little flare. hit and he’s going to pick up on the out. Matthew Lugo comes in off the bench for Taylor Ward. Homers and singles and Logan Davidson scores his first run as an angel. He’s trying to get this final out here and get out of this. Found ball to second. This should do it. Bellof has it throws to first. Harris is there and the A’s win 17 to4. 2 hour and 57 minute game last night. A 2 hour and 59minut game

Oh Happy's growth potential has stalled, bring back Quelro. The White Sox have a lot of catchers, so it could work out depending on the negotiations.
The GM really has no eye for players. Fire this guy already.
In 1983, in a Masonic soft ball league, I misjudged fly ball (while playing center field) just like my Taylor Ward did, and I still feel awful 42 years later!
Better than the Dodgers.๐ข
Yamamoto's performance was ruined.
