Brewers vs. Pirates Game Highlights (9/7/25) | MLB Highlights
Well, Bubba Chandler is on the mound right now. Bubba Chandler, who will make his fourth major league appearance, but his first as a starting pitcher. Good in his three outings out of the bullpin so far for the Pirates. Terra defies the shift and a base hit to start it. Terra checked in fourth in the league in batting average and he is aboard. And here comes Isaac Collins. Collins into left field. That’s going to get down a base hit. Brewers are two for two to start this game with Terra and Collins and in business early against Bubba Chandler. And it’s ball four. So from 02 to a walk and the bases are loaded with nobody out for today’s cleanup hitter, Jake Bowers. Bowers pulls it down the line. That’s going to get into the corner in to score Terra. Right behind him, Collins. And Bowers with a belly flop into second. It’s a two RBI double. And the Brewers strike first. Andrew Vaughn now at the plate with two on and nobody out. Here’s Vaughn with a base hit to right. That’s going to score Contrarus. Bowers will be held at third. And the line keeps moving here. Andrew Vaughn with an RBI single. It’s 3 nothing Milwaukee. Chandler coming into this game had allowed just three earned runs in his Big Leap career spanning 12 innings. Caleb Durban is at the plate. 257 for Durban with 10 homers. And now Durban, a bouncer. Chance for two. This is going to be a double play. Another run will score. No RBI for Durban. But a fourth run comes in. And now two outs, nobody on. This ball hit in the air to center back several steps. Goes Cruz. O’Neal. Cruz grabs it for the out. Four in the top of the first here from Jacob Miserowski. Misarowski has scuffled since coming off the injured list. erra of over eight and a half. Runners at the corners. One away for Nick Gonzalez. Faces Jacob Mizarowski riding a nineame hitting streak. That’s a ground ball. Got a chance for two here. Durban out at second. Terang throw to first is in time and the Miz goes springing off that mound. He walked the tight rope in the first but he gets the double play ball. Miz puts up a zero. We go to the second inning. 4 nothing Milwaukee. Danny Jansen into second base with a leadoff double. Brewers offense keeps on chugging along. Ortiz shoots one through the right side of base hit. Jansen held at third. Brewers are back at it again. A double and now a single. And Terang strikes out and safe on the stolen base. Ortiz is in there. So Isaac Collins now second and third. That’s in the dirt. Skips by to the screen it goes. Jansen will score and it is five to nothing Brewers on a wild pitch. Ortiz advances to third to Horowitz to home right into the path of the runner. Horowitz through high. Bart’s tag goes around the rear end of Ortiz as he was sliding in. Pat Murphy holding up play to see if they want to challenge and they will not. And he strikes him out with 99. Couple of strikeouts in the inning but the Brewers add a run. The two strike double by Andrew McCutchen. First in the game for the Pirates. Strike three called through a fast ball on the inside corner at 101. Two men are gone after the leadoff double by McCutchen and Leover Perearro. The shorts stop will be the hitter for Pittsburgh. Fly ball into left center field. That’s going to get down and that’s going to score McCutchen. The ball gets past sliding left fielder Collins, but not far enough for Pagarro to advance. Pagarro has an RBI single and the Pirates are on the board. It’s five to one in the second inning. And Vaughn is two for two. And here come the Brewers yet again in the third inning as Caleb Durban strides to the plate. Stuck in quick right there. Yeah, frozen with a fast ball on the third strike out for Chandler. One away for Blake Perkins who flyed out to O’Neal Cruz in center field to end the first inning. Oh, that ball’s hit well into deep left center field and it is over the head of Bay. Coming in to score is Bowers. Vaughn will be stopped at third. Blake Perkins puts a charge into one into deep left center. It’s an RBI double and it’s 6-1 Milwaukee as Jansen draws the walk and that will load the bases with one out. That’ll get Joey Ortiz to the plate. Of course, he’s hitting with the bases loaded. Joey Ortiz. That one’s on the ground. This is Gonzalez. He flips to Pagarro and out at first. Not sure about that one. Brewers will take a look. If it is an out, it’s an inning ending double play. And Pat Murphy says, “Take a look.” He’s going to challenge this call, which could lead to an RBI for Ortiz. Oh man, it’s close. Wow, was that close. Call on the field is overturned. The runner is safe. Milwaukee will retain her challenge. The Brewers get another run out of that and it should be a 7 to1 Brewers lead now. Another stolen base for Joey O. That’s his second of the game. And it’s second and third for Tang now with two outs. Terang pulls it through. Base hit. This is going to bring in two more as Bryce Tang delivers with his second hit. And the Brewers have busted it wide open in the third inning. Another four spot. It’s nine to one Milwaukee. And that’s going to be the end of the line for Bubba Chandler. His first major league start forgettable one. He’s got a a great career ahead of him. But Chandler is chased in the third inning. Miz had a little bit of trouble back in the first inning. Got out of it then gave up the one run in the second. Brewers would love to get a little more length out of Misarowski here today. Swinging a miss. Struck him out. Basketball at 98 off the outside edge. Did he go? Yes, he did. Mizarowski with a wicked curveball at 89 mph. And he strikes out O’Neal Cruz. Backto back Kay’s and the Miz starting to dial it in right now. the pitch and he nailed the outside edge with a fast ball at 101. And there’s that one, two, three inning. Mizarowski strikes out the side. Bottom of the fifth inning, Brewers up 9 to one on the Pirates. Brewers trying to sweep Pittsburgh and get on the bird down to Texas. Oh, just wiped him out. Bay strikes out. Nasty breaking ball. That’s the curve and the fifth strikeout for Miserowski. Ground ball to third. Durban has it. throws it across the diamond in time to get Triolo. We head to the sixth inning after another three up and three down frame for Mizarowski. Little bit of news that Msowski is out there for a sixth inning. He’s only done that twice as a big leager and he picks up a strikeout. So he’s racking up the K’s now number six as he strikes out Reynolds. Line to right back goes Bowers. He’s got a play and it’s a one, two, three inning for Miserowski. And if his day is done, he ends by retiring the final 10 batters he faced. How about Andrew Vaughn? Speaking of exclamation points, he’s got a four hit game. Perkins draws the walk here. He’s going to load the bases with one away. And here’s Danny Jansen with his fourth plate appearance. Jansen on the ground. That’s a fair ball. Long throw. Uses the grass does Triolo. Nice play, but Jansen will drive in a run to make it 10 to one. Six innings, one run, two walks, six Ks. as he’s retired 10 in a row. And Mizarowski with one out in this seventh inning will achieve a career best as far as innings pitched in the big leagues in the air right center. Perkins runs it down and there is out number one. That’s 11 in a row for Miserowski. And that’ll get O’Neal Cruz to the plate and he strikes out O’Neal Cruz. That was a 98 mph fast ball. I mean, he’s pitching like he’s he’s proving something to somebody. Yes, I’m with you. Swinging a miss. He struck him out. Climbed the ladder with 98 for his eighth strike out of the afternoon. And Jacob Miserowski gets through seven while retiring the last 13 that he faced. Pups 01 with an 838 erra. 25th game for him. And Bay draws the walk. Zel walk ends the stretch of 14 straight batters retired by the Brewers pitching staff. Cam Deainy will hit for Triolo. That line drive to left field and Deainy who slipped out of the box gets up and he’ll get to second base and he’ll also have an RBI as Gwan Bay races around the bases. A double that bounced to the wall. Cam Deania pinch hit RBI double makes it 10-2 here in the eighth. Craig Yoho coming into this ball game to pitch against the Pirates and try and get the final three outs. Here you go. Ground ball to Ortiz and Yoho comes out, makes quick work of the Pirates and the Brewers sweep Pittsburgh. 89 wins on the year. A 10-2 final.
