NBA LIVE! Los Angeles Lakers vs Phoenix Suns September 8, 2025 | 2025 NBA Season Live 2K
Heat. Heat. N. between these two grabs. No love lost in this matchup. And that competitive fire, it grows when you’re in the same conference. You get to see each other so often. You know, BA, I think we’re in for some good theater in this one. Here are the five for the Suns. They’ve got Jaylen Green. Dylan Brooks is out there with Royce O’Neal. Then there’s Devin Booker. And it’s Williams in at the five down low. Pass to Green outside. Booker. Williams with the screen. Shot clock at six. Nice move. And out of bounds. Los Angeles will have it. Oh, the stars are out of LA. Hands shining. How about Sway Lee with the trip? Oh, a trends setter and a go-getter. Shining bright indeed. [Applause] Outside Reeves. [Music] Pass to Donic. [Applause] And he was fouled while in the act of shooting. So, he’ll take two free throws. first personal and it’s going to go on Devin Booker. Look at Luca playing hard, which is always the way he goes. Hits a foul but keeps pushing and takes his shot. Playing through contact. Los Angeles shooting their first free throws of the game on this trip to the line. [Applause] That’s good from Donic. Well, we have a chance to hear from Shams Gerania. He’s calling in right now. Shams, great to have you on, bud. Well, guys, nobody is quite sure just how the partnership of Devin Booker and Jaylen Green will play out in the desert. They were just one of three back courts to average 20 points per game each last season. But with so many overlapping qualities, it’s not the most obvious fit. But many in the league feel that Green could mold himself actually after Booker. And that gives the Suns another potential offensive focal point. Everyone around the league is curious to see how they’ll make this work, guys. A dangerous duo. All right, Chs. Thanks very much. Now, here’s Green. All sorts of time, and Reeves pulls it down. The defensive breakdown gives him a wideopen look, but he can’t take advantage. Nice ball movement by Los Angeles. James outside to the paint. Here’s Aim Mura and it’s slammed in by Aim Mura. Watching LeBron in the pick and roll is artistry in motion. Timing, precision, everything’s right on the mark. Screen by O’Neal down low. That one’s good. Give the assist to Booker. just taking it right to the rim and no one was there to greet him. Well, this early they should be showing a lot more energy on defense. It’s not there. Here’s Aiden. Oh, and the duck by Aiden. My lord, the agility on that size. Aiden’s on another level. And here are the Suns now trailing by five outside. Booker on the wing. Brooks over James. And it’s Brooks missing. And even with the miss, that’s a high percentage shot for him. Pass to Donic. Stolen by Booker. Here’s the teardrop. And Aiden pulls it down. You won’t see that from him very often, missing the bunny like that. And here’s Reeves. Green covering. Aimura outside. Six on the shot clock. Donic on the wing. Williams defending. Suns trail by five. Now here’s Booker. Green for three. Graze the triple. Green lethal off the catch. Good rhythm on that play. And Donic has got the ball here for the Los Angeles Lakers. And keeping us updated from the sideline, Ally Leforce. Los Angeles’s head coach had a few moments to share with me tonight. His team has a huge assignment. Containing allstar guard Devin Booker. He told me Deon is as good as it gets at the two. He’s always applying pressure. His shooting is great, but we don’t talk about Book’s ball handling enough. He is lethal in that regard as well, guys. Thanks for that, Ally. Now, here’s Green. O’Neal passed it to Booker up and over Dodic. Booker, no good. The Lakers have gone three of five here in the opening quarter. Pass to Reeves. Oh, it’s blocked by Williams. Green with the ball. Booker the pass to Williams. Here’s Green and it’s hammered home by Green. [Applause] So it’s Los Angeles now outside Reeves now to Aimura. Donic against Booker. Pass to Brooks outside. Williams outside. Green. Clock at six. Phoenix needs to get off a shot here. And Booker puts up a deep three and unable to get the go-ahehead bucket there. The Lakers have gone three of six from the floor. Clark, over the last few seasons, LeBron’s three-point shooting has been more efficient than ever. Yeah. How about this, BA? Since 24, he’s right around 40% from deep on five attempts per game. So, that’s really impressive. And, you know, a guy like him, his greatness, part of his greatness is how he continues to reinvent his game, making modest modifications to what he does. Count it. There’s something that is great about Booker. He doesn’t take all outside shots. I mean, Deon can score it inside, too. Williams against Reeves. Pass to Aiden over Green. And there’s Aiden on the assist by Reed. Aiden’s got his second basket. Where’s the rim protection? That’s just too easy for him on the wing. Brooks outside. O’Neal. Three-pointer sinks the tray. O’Neal. And that’s what they want to do. Get him open looks early. Lakers trail by three. [Applause] Machimura with a screen on Brooks. Here’s James. It cashes in the first attempt of the game from mid-range. LeBron really dialed in. You can’t think you’re safe giving him those shots. outside. Booker, count that one. Pounding it inside early and often, setting a physical tone. And so it’s Donic with it. He brings it up for the Los Angeles Lakers. Nice ball movement by Los Angeles. Hits the trifecta. Donic has got six way downtown. Dantic testing the limits of his range there. Brooks outside. It’s stolen by James. What you say? Come on now. And he dunks it down. Tell you what, just add that one to the highlight reel. James is truly one of the greatest slam dunkers of all time. Now here’s O’Neal. He’s got five outside Booker. Six to shoot. [Music] over Ashimura. Booker no good. The Lakers in the lead. Oh, what a performance offensively. They’re really rolling at that end. Excellent game plan. James against Brooks. [Applause] The Lakers got to get one up. Late clock. Watching Merurl from long range. O’Neal pulls it in. The Suns have got half their attempts to go. Six of 12. [Applause] Brooks outside pass to Green. The three is up. It’s rebounded by Los Angeles. It’s Donic with a drive. And here’s Reeves outside. The shot is good. Donic making the play. And now it’s a five-point Laker lead. Phoenix has gone two for four from range to start things off. And so the timeout by Jordan Odd here, he’s going to take a minute to regroup with his players. Yeah, they’re hoping to turn things around with this timeout. Yeah, you know, they had to do something and it Vanderbilt comes in for Achimura. Larabi has checked in for LeBron and it’s Marcus Smart in for Reeves. Dunn, he’s checked in for Phoenix. Allen comes in for Brooks. [Applause] Williams passes to Booker. [Music] [Applause] Donic against Green. Up and over. Donic from 8 ft away. Drops it in. Green’s got seven points. Green is so agile. Even when Jaylen has the ball in his hands, he can outrun a lot of guys. and Clark for all the excitement around acquiring Luca Donuch. Now the Lakers hoping to get him back to the NBA finals. Yep. His youth sets them up for the future BA, but with LeBron James on the go, they still want to try to win now. And you like the balance here, not just falling in love with the three ball. Pass to Booker. Here’s Allen. Allen with a screen on Donic. [Applause] Green in the post. He’s covered by Larabia and it goes out of bounds. That one off Green now. Los Angeles with it. They’re on a 12-4 run. [Music] Smart outside. The shot is good. Donic making the play. Donic has got three assists now in this one. Getting the ball and taking his shot. Smart makes it look almost effortless. All right, let’s check in with Ally Leforce. Thank you. Luca Donic talked about wearing purple and gold. He said it’s the Lakers. So many past legends, so many championships. You don’t come here for anything else. So, I have everything left to prove. And that’s the goal. I get to play in the greatest club in the world. and I’m excited for this new journey. Back to you guys. A new beginning. Thank you, Ally. All right, guys. What do you think about the offensive approach we’ve seen so far for the Lakers? Well, we’re in the era of the three-point basket. So, if you want to win games in this league, you have to connect from deep, and they have been thus far. I would like to highlight, too, guys, the excellent passing they’ve done early on. I mean, they’ve done a really good job putting the ball into the hands of guys ready to shoot it. Last year, Jaylen Green was twice named Western Conference Player of the Week. Yeah. And Green was the first Rockets player to win the award multiple times since James Harden in 2019. And you know, we’ve seen the flashes and now on a new team. Can he improve his consistency? Over to the wing. Back to Allen. Pass to Green. Puts up a three. Hey, now five for eight. Shooting a pretty good percentage right now. Green impressive range from deep. He knows how dangerous he can be from there. Donic on the wing. Back to Smart. Fires for three. Pure from three-point range. Smart has got six. It’s turned into a showdown here. Dueling from distance. Looks to me like there could be something personal taking place here. Now here’s Green. 13 points in the game and a foul called on the way up. So he’ll take two from the free throw line. How about the start of Jaylen Green’s career? 17 points per game as a teenage rookie Clark. Yeah, very impressive. And just as impressive is that he chose to go the G-League route instead of college. Not many guys have done that with the success that he’s had. So, he came in, I think, a little more ready than your average NBA pick because he had actually gone through a cycle of pro basketball. He’s been a scorer in this league from day one, and I only see that continuing. From going to the finals in 2021 to missing the playoffs last season, Grant, things have not gone according to plan for the Suns. Well, you know, BA, they followed that trip to the finals with a 64 win season, but then they went all in on the big three of Booker, Durant, and Beo, and that just didn’t yield the results they’d hoped for. Hey, it’s hard not to gush about Green. I mean, he’s one of the more exciting talents to enter this league in in quite some time. Six on the shot clock. Get Smart on the wing. Green covering and it’s Smart missing. Suns trail by four. 6 seconds separating the shot and game clocks. [Music] Green against Smart. Pass to Dun. Some nice ball movement by Phoenix. The three ball. Smart grabs a miss. Oh, and the release was before the buzzer, but it’s off target. Oh, what a performance by Luca Donuch. He has been the story for Los Angeles. Scoring, passing, imposing his will at the offensive end. More 2K action in just a moment. [Applause] And for those of you just tuning in, second quarter action is where we are, guys. What stands out to you from the Lakers in this one? Well, clearly they played well in the first period because of their selfless attitude. Yeah, and you know, so many of their hoops came off an assist, which is a good sign for ball movement and sharing that ball. And so in the game for the Suns, they’ve got Nick Richards and it’s Allen in at the two pass to Vanderbilt and here’s Clea. Smart left side. Oh my goodness. Smart with a tough finish. And don’t judge Smart by his size. A little physicality isn’t enough to stop him. Now here’s Allen. Pulls up on the wing. It’s rebounded by Cleba. Los Angeles leading by six. Pass to Reeves. Back to Smart [Applause] from deep and Smart nails the triple. The Smart has such great body control. He can let the jumper go from wherever he wants. Gillespie passes to Richards. Now here’s Allen. He’s covered by Reeves. And there’s a whistle that goes on Jake Laravia. That’s his first foul of the game. [Applause] We’re about a minute and a half into the second quarter now. Allen with a screen on Smart. Just four to shoot. Gillespie passes to Richards and the Suns miss again. Los Angeles has got five of seven threes to drop here tonight. Reeves finds Cleba. Back to Reeves. Pass to Smart. Back to Vanderbilt. Marches a three and it’s rebounded by Gillespie. Suns trail by nine. Allen with it. Picked up by Reeves. Done from outside. Off the mark. The defense may have given him that one based on the results. You see why Smart passes to Clea. Let’s go with a three. Phoenix grabs the miss. And we’re now a little over two and a half minutes into the second. Pass to Gillespie. Here’s Allen. Allen with a screen on Smart. Here’s Gillespie. He’s covered by Reeves to stop the drought. Richards shot is off. Los Angeles leading by nine. On the wing, Reeds covered by Richards. Reeds the pass to Smart. Here’s Labraia. A chance to extend the lead to double digits, but it’s no good. Here’s Dunn. Uses the glass to finish the layup. Dun’s got his first bucket in this one. Credit their discipline. They’ve been working for high percentage shots. Smart passes to Clea from the arc. And it’s Smart missing. And it’s Allen with the ball for the Suns. They’ve only allowed five points in the quarter. [Applause] Hey Clark, whether we’re comparing players or voting for the annual awards, defense is a factor that is often undervalued. Yeah, I agree with that wholeheartedly. I mean, we love to see people score in a variety of ways. We like to see that offensive skill set on display, but you know, defensive stats are critically important, but not as easy to identify and count. But yet, and still, it’s half the game, so you can’t overlook it. Now, here’s Reeds. There’s the three. The rebound by Allen. And the shooter had very little space on that attempt. And guys, that’s exactly the kind of high impact defense they want to see out of him. That’s really an outstanding assist creating a great opportunity inside. You can see the chemistry between those guys. And so now here’s connect defended by Dunn. Pass to Vanderbilt. Nice ball movement by Los Angeles. Donic outside. Down to five on the shot clock. Lets the three fly. Vanderville no good. Suns trail by five. Brooks outside. [Applause] And here is Williams. [Applause] Back to Brooks. Williams. A screen on Reeves. Here’s Brooks. Gets his second attempt to go. Now he’s one for two. He really hooked the defender with that pump fake. It worked to perfection. Outside connect from deep. Here’s Donic. Gets the three to fall. Donic has got 11 points. Watch out now when Donis is dialed in from deep because he’s unguardable. And here’s Dun. Here’s Booker again. Phoenix good for two. He’s one of those guys who just knows how to generate offense. Pass to Donic. Takes a three. Phoenix grabs the miss. Williams has got his fourth rebound in this one. Here’s Brooks to the middle and stolen by Reeds. [Applause] Oh, Williams with the block. [Applause] Done. Outside. Come on. Come on. Come on. Booker finds Williams. Here’s Brooks. Guarded by Donic. [Applause] Donic against Brooks. [Applause] Good D by Donic. Really good work by the defense to protect the rim and alter the shot. We’ve seen it on certain nights. Clark Mark Williams just owning the backboards. Well, his combination of strength and length BA causes major matchup problems. I mean, he has a bunch of 20 plus rebound games. That’s hard to do even with all the shot volume that’s taking place in the league right now. Even when you put a body on this guy, he’s relentless in pursuing the arm. Los Angeles shooting their third and fourth free throw shots of the night. [Applause] [Applause] That free throw no good. You know, one of the things I like about watching Donic is the pace he plays at. You’re not going to speed him up. He plays at his pace, the pace he dictates. Here’s what Los Angeles is going with right now. Aiden, he’s checked in for Koko. Aimura comes in for Vanderbilt. And James is subbed in for Reeves. And the Suns also making a change. Green’s checked in. Back to Green. Knocks it loose. James with a steal. Connect up top. Out to James. Nice ball movement by Los Angeles. Just James on the wing. Off the mark there with a three. He was wide open. That missed clearly on him. Donic against Brooks to the inside. It’s stolen by Donic. [Music] And he’s gone for the lob. And Aiden with the stuff. Excellent timing by Aton on the alley pass. He’s perfectly positioned to throw it down. Now here’s Green. He’s covered by connect inside. Oh, got a piece of it. The shots good on the assist by James. Connect got his first points of the game. The Connect is a crafty finisher. He’s got great touch around the hoop. [Applause] Brooks, the pass to Green outside. Booker releases and that one’s good. Green Green’s got 16 points now. He’s bringing a lot of energy to this offense. Not letting the scoreboard discourage him right now. Boy, I tell you what, hole would be a lot deeper if he wasn’t being as efficient as he’s been so far. Let’s go now to the sideline and catch up with Alli Leforce. Thank you guys. The Lakers are trying to maximize what LeBron James has left in the tank. Coach JJ Reick said, “When you get to coach one of the greatest players ever, you take a lot of joy and pride and excitement in that, and it’s my job to help him in these last few innings of his career.” Guys, back over to you. A rare opportunity. Ally, thanks very much for the report. Now, here’s Connect. They lead by the biggest margin of the game at nine. Hachimura outside. Four on the clock. Donic outside. A chance to push it to double digits, but it’s off the mark. Brooks outside. Here’s Booker. Oh, and he blocks it off the glass. Wow. What timing by James on the denial. His hand is right there at the exact moment it needs to be. From deep. Here’s Donic again. Donic missing. Suns trail by nine. Brooks outside. [Applause] inside. Now here’s Green. He’s covered by connect for three. Booker and that one’s good. And Green with the assist. Yes. So good to see Booker knocking down the corner triple. A go-to score with considerable range. Pass to Donic. Booker against Donic. Back to Booker. [Applause] Shot clock at six and it’s in there. And now it’s just a four-point Laker lead. Awfully tough play to defend. When you honor the roller, Booker just takes advantage. [Music] Screen by James. Just throw. Oh, it’s blocked by Williams and it’s out of bounds. The Lakers able to retain possession here. And we have to take another look at that block. Oh my. Oh my. And that was textbook defense positioning himself well to send him back. Reeves has checked in for connect. Number 15, Austin Reeves. Phoenix on D. Four-point game. Five on the clock from deep. Reeves drills it from deep. Reeves has got six. Reeves keeping the defense honest there. Knocking down that corner three. Donic against Booker. Outside for Green. Pass to O’Neal. Three-pointer. And again, it’s Phoenix from deep. That’s how you up the ante. Come right back at him. A little trail by seven. Aimura at power forward with Aiden at center. Reeves and LeBron out on the perimeter. And it’s Donuchin at the point guard. That’s who’s in the game for the Lakers. And so it’s the Lakers with it after the basket by Phoenix on the other end. Nice ball movement by Los Angeles. Shoots from 12. Here’s James. Oh, huge slam by LeBron. And LeBron sets the tone for this team. This includes setting an example with his hard work on the offensive board. Here’s Booker outside. Green driving inside. Pass to Booker. Now Green launches it and Aiden pulls it down. Aiden’s got four rebounds now. Now Aimura. Williams defending. Oh, it’s blocked by Williams. [Music] Donic against Green. Hey. It’s Booker on the wing over Reeves. And there’s Booker. That one’s good on the assist by Green. Green’s got three assists now in this one. Pass to Aiden. This James on the wing. Donic outside. Konic. Count it. Yeah, he’s in his bag from beyond the ark right now. You see his confidence. Yeah, I’d be confident, too. As a matter of fact, I mean, if you’re stacking up threes the way he is, I mean, he’s doing all this work from behind the ark. Booker looking around and here’s Green from the arc. Yes. And it’s Looker with the setup. Booker’s got his fourth assist in this one. Donic on the wing. Booker defending and Los Angeles. Another three. Boy, Donic showing you his competitiveness right there with the back at you three. The revenge trip outside. Booker fires from deep. James with the rebound. James has got his fourth rebound in this one. [Applause] [Music] [Applause] To Mura from Pete Reeves. Williams grabs the board. He didn’t make them pay for that weak defense, but they just can’t rely on him to miss those kind of shots. Pass to Booker outside O’Neal. Now here’s Green [Music] outside for Brooks. The deep three. LeBron with the rebound. James has got five rebounds tonight. Well, Clark, every now and then you run into a player like Dylan Brooks, epitomizing that junkyard dog mentality. Yeah, well said, BA. I mean, when he’s out there on the floor, you’re going to feel and see Dylan Brooks. I mean, he’s going to mix it up with anybody and everybody. There aren’t many guys walking around looking to be as physical as Dylan does. Here’s James following the score by Phoenix. And again, the Lakers no good. Booker against Donic. Outside Booker. Pass to O’Neal for three on target from range. And now just a three-point Laker lead. That is what we talk about. Make the next pass. Fantastic feed. And here’s Reeves ring covering. Donic outside. [Applause] And it’s Phoenix with the rebound outside. Booker pass to O’Neal. [Applause] Green against Reeves. Here’s Williams. And Williams punches it home. Impressive one-hand slam right there, BA. Man, as long as he’s confident about it, I’m good with it. Maybe use two hands next time. He knows where he is. Somebody you can count on. He is an extremely reliable finisher. Now here’s Dantic. 23 points in the game. [Music] 17 ft shot on the way. And that one comes up a bit short. And Booker’s got the ball here for the Suns. It’s a one-point game for the lead. And Reeves pulls it down. Los Angeles has gone two of three from outside so far in the third quarter. They still need this. And it’s Phoenix with a rebound. O’Neal’s got five rebounds tonight. Brooks with it now. Donic defending. It’s Booker on the wing. Williams. A screen on James. Booker. The pass to Green. [Applause] Back to Booker from outside the ark. And that one’s good. And Green with the assist. Green’s got five assists in the game. Well, we got a close game here. [Applause] Allen against Donic. James outside [Applause] with nobody on him. He buries that jumper. James has got four points this quarter. [Applause] Phoenix has gotten three of six threes to fall in the third quarter. Outside Williams. Pass to Brooks. [Applause] Back to Williams. [Applause] It’s rebounded by Los Angeles. Aiden’s got five rebounds in the game. [Music] It’s James on the wing. Brooks defending. James passes to Dantic. James against Brooks. Just five to shoot. Back to Smart over Green. And Smart with the bucket on the assist from James. Smart’s got 13 willing passers. Unselfish play. You have to appreciate this kind of offense. [Applause] Green against Smart. Here’s Green. He’s got 19. No good from outside. He got his defender off his feet with a pump fake, but couldn’t knock it down. Donic feeling it out a bit. Now to Mura. No good on the three. The Suns trailing [Music] and Marcus Smart picks up the foul. That’s his first foul. Some changes for Los Angeles. Clea, he’s checked in for Aiden. And it’s Jared Vanderbilt in for Achimura. The Lakers on D. Their biggest lead of the game was nine. Green against Smart. Five to shoot. Pass to Brooks. takes the three. Vanderbilt pulls it in. Vanderbilt’s got four rebounds now. Deflects the pass and so he draws the foul headed to the line to shoot a pair. That’s on Mark Williams. Hey, you have to have pity for the defense right there. I mean, LeBron is an absolute load down low. And a moment here to take a look at the scoring breakdowns for the Lakers. Well, I think they’ve been lethal from beyond the arc this game. No doubt about it. hard to defend such spot-on shooting. They’ve also been showing us standout play on the fast break, working as a team to create easy opportunities. And he makes a first. And James considered a franchise talent without question. This guy is the complete package. Austin Reeves has checked in for the Lakers. [Applause] Suns trail by four. [Applause] Green. The pass to O’Neal to end the drought. And it’s Green missing. And Reeds has got the ball here for the Los Angeles Lakers. Outside Vanderbilt. [Applause] [Music] Outside Reeves. Pass to Smart. And here’s Vanderbilt from the arc. Brooks with a rebound. The Suns have gotten seven of 15 shots to hit in this second half. Allen outside [Applause] pass to Green [Applause] from behind the ark. It’s rebounded by Cleba. He just keeps firing away from distance. I know he’s trying to get himself heated up, but at what cost? Reeds the pass to Smart. James outside. Smart. A screen on Brooks. Shoots. James. That’s good. James has got 12 points in the game. That defense has to worry so much about LeBron as a passer that it opens things up for his jump shot. [Applause] Outside Green hits the front of the rim and out. He hasn’t been able to find his touch this quarter. To me, it appears he’s starting to lose his composure a little bit. We’ll see if he can regroup and get Are you kidding me? Wow, man. LeBron James power and athleticism on full display with the jam. Suns trail by eight. And so the timeout by Jordan here. A moment to rest and confer on the game plan. Things just aren’t going their way. He cleared green. [Applause] Allen. The pass to Booker. [Applause] shot to stop the run. Here’s Richards. And that one’s good. Nice job on the glass as they picked up two on the second effort. The defense couldn’t collapse quickly enough. Now, here is James defended by Dunn. Oo, great D that time from Dunn. A good score around the rim. He is met there by an irresistible force. Reeves against Allen. And looks like an illegal pick was set. That gets the ref’s attention. The screener was leaning a bit right there. His feet may not have been planted. Pretty obvious call by the officials. Yeah, I agree. You know, sometimes that can be a tough call for the ref to make, but not that time. It was easy there. And Los Angeles making a change here. Arabia has checked in on offense. Here are the Lakers. They’ve outscored him 10 to2 during this run. Reeves against Allen. [Applause] Pass to Vincent. Back to Reeves. Clock at six. [Music] From deep three-point land. And it’s Phoenix for the rebound. Two seconds separating the shot clock and the game clock. Done. The pass to Booker. Back to Dunn. Fires the three. Rebound by the Lakers. Clea’s got rebound number five here tonight. Pass to Reeves. [Music] [Applause] Fires the three and that’s not going to go. Misses at the buzzer. And we’ve watched three so far in this one. Lakers ahead leading by six. All right, we’re going to step aside for just a second, but join us right back here for the start of quarter number four next. And it’s time to bring up the State Farm assist of the game. This is the definition of team chemistry. I love to see this kind of communication and connection between teammates leading to the perfect pass for me. Next to the big time alley oops and monster throwd downs. Passes like that are probably the next best thing when it comes to sweet looking NBA highlights. Three tense quarters behind us, one more to go. Thanks for being with us as we get ready for the fourth. On the court for the Suns getting the fourth quarter going. They’ve got Devin Booker. He’s out there with Grayson Allen and it’s Dunn in at the three. Outside Booker Pass to Dunn. The three is up. He can’t hit that time. The Lakers lead by nine. Reed the pass to Clea. Nice ball movement by Los Angeles. And here’s Vincent. Here’s Labraia off target. That would have pushed the lead to double digits to the paint. Here’s Igadaro guarded by Vanderbilt. Igodaro no good. Los Angeles has gone one of two from deep in this corner. Here’s Reeds. Rebounded by Dunn. Dunn’s got five rebounds in the game. to the middle. Richards pass to Booker. Now here’s Dunn. He’s covered by Larabia. Out of bounds. It’ll be Lakers ball. Look, the intentions were good. I like the unselfishness, but the execution a lot to be desired. Good ones checked in for Al. We’ve gone about a minute and a half into this fourth quarter. Now Vincent [Applause] Pass to Reeves. Here’s the three. Drops in the three and the Lakers lead by 12. Reeves almost making it look really easy. Gets the ball and takes the shot and Booker puts up a deep three and it’s out of bounds. Last touch by Vanderbilt. Some changes now for the Lakers. Hayes is checked in for Cleba. Connect comes in for Reeves and Donic has subbed in for Vincent Allen. He’s checked in for the Suns. [Applause] It’s Booker on the wing guarded by Donic. Done outside. Shot clock at five for three. Allen Donic pulls down the board. Donic has got four rebounds now outside Vanderbilt. Has to connect. Here’s Hayes and he’s going to the line for two. The official saw contact while he was going up. Well, Jackson Hayes, a rim running center with explosive athleticism. Yeah, he’s a constant threat. I mean, plays well above the rim. He sets solid screens. He’s got pretty good feet, so he’s able to get out of his screens quickly. Rebounds, protects the paint. I mean, he plays his role at a high level, and he’s shot over 70% from the field multiple times in his young career. Phoenix making a switch here. Williams has checked in. [Applause] [Applause] Good on the second one. Over two and a half minutes in the books here in the fourth. Donic against Booker to get back on track. Allen outside and the officials will call the illegal screen here. One of the trickier plays to judge, but it would be hard to argue against the call. Yeah, you know, the officials aren’t nearly as lenient as they used to be on that call. As a matter of fact, I know I got away with a lot of those in my playing days, but that was 40 years ago. Clea, he’s checked in for Hayes. Los Angeles leading by 13. Pass to Donic. Valerabia. That one falls. Great setup by Donic. Now here’s Allen. Booker for three. And Booker cash on the three. And this is big for Booker’s confidence with this three-point ball falling. He’s so tough to stop. Donic against Booker. 11 seat out and it’s Donic missing. Suns trail by 12. Allen with it. Pass to Booker. Back to Allen. The three. It’s rebounded by Los Angeles. Clea’s got six rebounds now in the game. Now here’s Connect. Jacks up a three and it’s Phoenix with a rebound. Williams has got 14 rebounds tonight. Going after it. Done. Outside. Hooker for three. Rebound by the Lakers. [Music] Outside connect. Donic outside. Lets it go from deep. Rebounded by Dunn. Suns trail by 12. down low. [Applause] Here’s Allen and he’ll draw the foul. He’ll head to the line for two. Man, the defender really went after him. Yeah, if you’re going to foul, then make sure that you don’t give a chance for the and one. Grayson taking two shots. [Applause] And that one misses LeBron. He’s checked in for Los Angeles. Phoenix also changing it up. O’Neal comes in for Riadaro. And it’s Brooks in for Dunn. [Applause] And he’s good on the second. The Lakers lead by 11. outside Vanderbilt. [Applause] Pass to Jane. Just five on the clock. [Applause] The shot won’t fall. Excellent D there from O’Neal. Suns trail by 11. Here’s Williams. Brooks outside [Applause] and the deficit down inside single digits. Here’s Donuch. Pass to Vanderbilt. Brooks against James. [Applause] Donic outside the Lakers with another miss. Really good shot contest there. It made it tough for the shooter. And here’s Brooks outside Williams. Now here’s Brooks. O’Neal on the wing. Some nice ball movement by Phoenix. Pass to Brooks over Cleba. Oh, great D that time from Cleveland. And so it’s Donic with it. He brings it up for the Los Angeles Lakers. So far in the fourth, they’ve allowed just six points. Here’s Booker. Ooh, nice little finish at the rim there for Booker. Yeah, you expect tremendous effort from a scorer like Booker, but it’s still impressive to see him delivering outside Vanderbelt. Screen by James. [Applause] Back to Vanderbilt to win the Colts spell. And again, the Lakers no good. I think he’s gone completely dry. Nothing is hitting. And you know, you can sense his frustration. This is going to be a test of his resolve here. Williams shot is good. And you want him taking good shots at this point in the game. And that one was easy. Well, you don’t want to give him any open shots at this stage, never mind a layup. Come on now. My goodness. And we’ve got a timeout called by JJ Reick. He was quite emphatic. Demand changes for Los Angeles. Aiden, he’s checked in for Cleba. Aimura comes in for Vanderbilt. And Reeves is subbed in for Connect. Green’s checked in for Phoenix. Gives us a chance to catch up with Ally Leforce. I was able to listen in on what JJ Reick was going over with his team. He loves what the D has been able to accomplish, saying to his team, “Every turnover is a big success for us. Keep forcing those errors. Don’t let them feel comfortable out there.” So expect them to keep trying to be disruptive. And Ally, thank you for that. [Applause] Aimura, the pass to Aiden over Williams and Aiden gets it to go and the Lakers lead by seven. And that was a timely basket to stop their momentum. Got to love the fact there’s no quitting. I mean, they know they can’t cut the lead down all at once. They’re not trying to bite off too big a piece of the pie. They’re chipping away at it. Just banging at that rock. banging at that rock and trying to chip away at him. So far so good. The Lakers lead by seven. Inside outside Reeves pass to Aiden. [Applause] Donic against Booker. Outside Reeves. Here’s Donic for three. Donic. Three ball from the corner is good. It always seems like Donic is playing with something to prove. Well, I tell you what, he’s proving plenty tonight. Outside O’Neal Williams passes to O’Neal. It’s Booker on the wing. Guarded by Donic. Three-pointer O’Neal. Good work defensively by James. Boy, this offense has been dynamic and diversified. Just everyone sharing the ball and sharing the load makes you difficult to defend. That is big time by Hatamura. No mercy at all. And Booker gets double team. O’Neal on the wing. They get it back. The put back. How about the activity? Oh, phenomenal hustle. He has a knack for those boards. Man, he is tenacious when that ball goes up. That’s what they’ve got him out there for, fellas. D it. Can’t get the three. Suns trail by 10. Now Booker now. Green for three. Rebounded by eight. Hey, I had no idea why he’s still shooting three. He’s got to find another way to be productive. Aimura. Aimura putting pressure on the defense. That’s exactly what they want to get out of. First personal foul. Second team foul. at the line for two. Ruy Mamora. Free throw good. Aimura. [Applause] [Applause] [Applause] Get good. And both free throws good for Aimura. Suns trail by 12. Things just don’t seem to be clicking for them offensively. Yeah, they really need to find a way to get back on track. Los Angeles [Applause] first. Second team shooting for Phoenix. Devin Booker. Two shots. [Applause] That free throw good from Booker. Yeah, just an offensive machine. Booker generates points consistently night in and night out. It’s both on the strike. He’s about as calm as you can be at the strike. They’ve got time on their side here, Grant. And if they’re smart, they’ll melt the clock a little. Dodges fires. Oh, the three doesn’t go. He’s missing shot after shot after shot from long range. The time running low. He’d be better off trying something else. And the officials called goalending, so they’ll award the basket. Almost got there in time, but waited just a little too long. And Donic has got the ball here for the Los Angeles Lakers. Now Reeds Aton outside. Here’s Donic. Now James. Six to shoot. Eighton outside. Now Reeds on the arc. Old Green rips down the board. Now Booker. And Booker gets double team. Green with the ball now. Guarded by Aiden from deep. Can’t get it. Man, that’s his shot. Maybe he was too wide open. [Applause] Aimura in the post. Brooks on it. Nope. Suns trail by eight. Here’s Booker. Oh, can’t hit the jumper. Aton outside now. Donic. [Applause] James outside. [Applause] Now Donic. Let’s move for three. Williams rips down the board. And just not enough time for them to get back in this game. Not by a long shot. It’s all but official. Green. Oh, and misses. Here’s Reed. [Applause] So, it’s Los Angeles picking up the win. A competitive game. You have to feel like this crowd gave him a little extra edge. Yeah, they really fed off the energy. Saw their activity level go up. Just a tremendous performance. All right, Alli’s ready to go. She’s courtside. Hey, Ally. LeBron, it wasn’t pretty, but a win’s a win. What do you take away from a game like this one? Um, got to win all different type of ways. You know, you don’t play well offensively.
