Nationals SHOCK The Cubs 6-3 With 5-Run 9th Inning | FULL INNING

Getting Dalon L on a grounder to end the game. It’s Hassel Abrams and Wood game here for 51st game here for Daniel Valencia. High velocity fastball. 98 right there, but it averages 99.6. And guys don’t want to get to two strikes. throwing the splitter a lot lately with two strikes, especially 12 for 111 this year against him with two strikes. [Applause] See, that’s not really a good number for a hitter. That’s not far over a 100red as in batting average. [Applause] Hassel hits it hard left center carrying DU later, Robert Hassel oppo his third as a big leager and we’ve got a one-run game. That’s the first two strike homer he’s given up this year, too. Do it. Robert Hassel. Nothing like getting the ball throw back at you when you’re round at second base. 101 thrown to him. 102 by him. Let’s go. Nets continue to fight the Cubs toe-to-toe here. Top of the order. Abrams. Did not get a first pitch fast. One of the great swings of his career right there for Robert Hassel. The third homer. the third. [Applause] [Applause] Abs. That ball stays fair. He’s safe. It’s going to roll and roll and stop for a base hit. 400 plus and that one goes about 85 ft. Well, how about backto-back two strike knocks, too. That’s amazing. You have 12 on the year and they only give up these two. Great job by CJ. Put the ball in play. Good things happen. It’s only the sixth infield hit this year for CJ. Wow. James Wood. And that was a long to the right side backhand grab by Carson Kelly. [Applause] Plot thickens. Two and 0. Let’s check out that home run right here to Robert Hassel. The third that foot down in time. Just a nice simple easy swing. I mean, it’s like he just checked off of it, too. Trying to stay through it after all the fast balls that had beat him beaten him today. Being on time for that one down. What a beauty. [Applause] Jose a Ferrer in case two balls, no strikes. Abrams what I would call a cautious lead at first. Not very big at all. That’s fine. [Applause] That hit his foot. So, it’s foul. [Applause] Well, 22 got a battle right here. [Applause] Just got to touch it. Bill for Adams next to go lefty against the righty. [Applause] I’m not afraid to throw that slider here in a 3-2 count. Huge pitch. Abrams short lead again. Holding. And now the tying runs heading for second base. And the lead runs aboard. [Applause] Great AB by James Wood. [Applause] Not chasing out of the zone, forcing him to throw, you know, quality pitch after quality pitch. [Applause] [Music] Tommy. Hi, Tommy. [Music] Boys know, hey, we’re good. You good chance here to do something. Okay, that’s great. Just don’t throw it down the middle of Josh Bell. Okay, now you put that thought in the mind. [Applause] Josh Bell has a pinch hit and an RBI. One for six this year. [Applause] First time he faces Valencia. [Applause] And Josh Bell hits one a ton out to left center. It is still in the air. It is in the basket. See you later. The Nets have shocked the Cubs closer and their crowd of 33,000. [Applause] Well, did I tell you that he’s put that baby in his mind? Just don’t throw it right there. Josh Bell with an emotional. Let’s go, boys. 109 off the bat. oppo [Applause] blown save of the year here for Daniel Palencia. Do a one nine. Not a bad little pinch hitter to bring off your bench right there. Think about like the Robert Hassel homer with two strikes, but the CJ Abrams one after some nasty pitches to fight to find a way to get on base to just get enough to get that infield hit really set things in motion. And to hit a home run that high in the air against that traffic, this wind is amazing. There’s a ball well hit into the right field corner. Fair ball. Lyle speeding for second, heading for third. Another triple for the Nets rookie. [Applause] Dalon Lyle triples corner eighth of the year. His third during his hitting streak. pull a slider in and when Dalon Lyall says, “What’s your favorite park to hit?” It will not be Nats Park. It’s going to be Wrigley. And I’m sorry, Nats fans, there’s a reason for that. There’s onage here. Infield in Chaparo way down and in. He got hurt. Valencia may be overthrowing something. He has dropped his glove. He has hunched over the mound. He has hurt himself. He’s angry because of it. And it’s unbelievable what has happened to turn this game around in the last few minutes. When a pitcher reacts like that, something is terribly wrong. That is not good. And he’s leaving after a one and0 count. That’s a 100. Really takes off. Cubs will have to bring in a new pitcher. He’ll have all the time he needs. This is a shocker game on the year 64 230. See the average fast ball at 96. [Applause] Layen Lyall parked at third after another triple. And Chaparo, he’ll take that sweeper way outside. [Applause] not biting. That’s ball three as this pitcher inherited the one and0 count. Whatever happens in this at bat, it is charged to Hajj, not Valencia, but he is responsible for Lyall at third. Insurance policies right here are big. Get one more. 3-2. Now I think about I know Mason Thompson gives up the home run last inning, but what a great job by the bullpen in general. Beater to Rutledge who was fantastic. Yeah. 3-2 pitch. Stride called on the inside edge for that first out. [Applause] Well, he split the edge. They’re going to walk Garcia. He wasn’t looking for that. And they’ll go righty righty with Brady House hoping for a possible double play ball. [Applause] I think more or less that has to do with Luis Garcia and his ability to get, you know, that runner in from third. Oh, yeah. Well, you’ve mentioned it many times. He’s been so good at that. [Applause] Brady House an 0 for two day, but a sack fly on the first pitch back in the fifth. Got the Nats on the board, right? He’s almost having a thousand OPS against Porter Hodgej this year. You got to you got to know that as a hitter like he struggles against these guys. falls behind. La working hard to get down the line here. Good swing. Love it. [Music] Ready House to center. Alcantra looking into the sun. Great speed coming home from third. Run down between first and second. The Cubs will get a couple of outs here, but the Nats will have a fiveun top of the ninth. Brady House second sack fly RBI of the day. Oh, Josh Bell after Robert Hassel two strike homer to left center field. Josh Bell puts the boys on top with a three-run pinch hit. Bomb. Let’s go, boys. Close it out. Jose. [Applause]

9/7/2025: Robert Hassell III and Josh Bell homered and Daylen Lile tripled (again) and scored in a five-run ninth inning to hand the Nationals a 6-3 series-clinching win over the Chicago Cubs after entering the inning trailing 3-1.

  1. electric stuff from the boys. you love to see it. the crowd noise was insane for bell's homer. also, out of interest i looked up the average distance of a ball hit at the same exit velocity and launch angle as bell's homer and it was 427, an absolute bomb. bell's went about 50 feet shorter. that wind was fighting hard.
