Reminisce about the ’90s Oakland A’s

  1. I was at Game 4 of the 1992 ALCS, the day Roberto Alomar hit that legendary home run. Even as a kid, I sensed it marked the end of an era for the A’s. Earlier in the game, around the fourth inning, a buzz rippled through the Coliseum like the wave: word spread that the Giants were headed to Florida. The mood among A’s fans shifted to one of melancholy, even before Alomar’s swing, as we braced for what felt like the loss of our crosstown rivals. Looking back now, how naive we were as Walter Haas-era Oakland A’s fans.
