GROWING PAINS: New Orleans Saints STRUGGLE in Week 1 Loss, Spencer Rattler’s Promise Needs Rhythm

The New Orleans Saints face growing pains after their loss to the Arizona Cardinals. Offensive strategy and game management come under scrutiny as the team struggles to find rhythm. Kellen Moore and Spencer Rattler are fine-tuning and starting to find ways to gel while building and taking advantage of the rhythm they’re looking to build.

Conservative devision-making and a lack of explosive plays hamper the Saints’ offense. The run game efficiency drops significantly in the second half, forcing a pass-heavy approach away from Alvin Kamara and Kendre Miller who were otherwise productive. More blitzing from Alontae Taylor could be a major game-changer for the Saints’ defense.

  1. What promise? Rattler sucked almost getting 2 receivers killed. Crappy ave pass yards and QBR! Those stats would have gotten Carr hung in effigy. Only bright spot was defense. Great games by Davis, Jordan and Granderson. Ruiz sucked big time.

  2. Defense needs to get off the field on 3 & 10+. I’ll have to rewatch but I think we failed to stop 3rd & long 5 or 6 times. Terrible. Same old stories too. Slowest LBs in the NFL, can’t cover a TE or a running QB.

  3. here we go 🤷🏻‍♂️ a post from Nick Underhill >>> S Julian Blackmon suffered a significant injury against the Cardinals and is expected to miss time, I'm told.

  4. The timeout before the half is more complex than that. You take it, you give them time to rest and scheme a more solid play. To me, it's not a right or wrong decision..

  5. Bro we need to get rid of everyone wr behind olave hell get rid of him to i wouldn't be mad call mike t use olave as a 3rd shaheed 2 over him i say get rid of juwan or put him back at wr for another big body but get real TEs start vele over juwan atleast

  6. Hope Moore takes timeouts from himself. He should be making the decision if that was the decision.

Probably the worst clock management I’ve seen in my lifetime of watching football.

If you don’t want to give Rattler a chance at half, he should have kneeled & accepted the loss in the 4th. That’s some really shitty coaching! Give someone else the keys Kellen, you can’t handle it alone!

  7. Saints Fans as well as local media are in yesterday’s news … Your team do not have any primetime games scheduled for the 2025 NFL season, which marks the first time in 25 years they will be excluded from national evening broadcasts. This lack of primetime games reflects the team's recent performance, including four consecutive non-playoff seasons and a 5-12 record in 2024, as well as the team's transition with a new head coach and an unsettled quarterback position … Based on the Saints performance in the 2024 season and their outlook for the 2025 season, the Saints are not considered a good bet as an underdog this year … “You are what your record say you are” … The New Orleans Saints 53-man roster for the 2025 season is 26.26 years old, which ranks them as the 20th youngest team in the NFL … So, with that said the Saints are in a rebuilding phase … 😅 Be Patient😅

  8. The Saints faced a setback due to a lack of discipline, resulting in 13 penalties for 89 yards. The offense struggled to find its rhythm, leading to pre-snap violations that hindered momentum. This performance went against the team’s focus on precision and efficiency. The coaching staff must now address execution issues, reduce self-inflicted mistakes, and enhance consistency.

  9. The only problem I saw was the flags throw vs Saints. The guard play hurt. They should have had Miller & Neal carr the ball to give A.K some rest in the second half.

  10. The play by the backup RBs Miller and Neal was encouraging. If this continues i think it’s time to shop Kamara before the trade deadline. We’ll likely be 1-7. I love him but him and Olave are all we got in assets. Some contender might be needy at the skill spots and honestly those guys could compete for a championship vs dying on the vine in N.O.

  11. I think the game was so close BECAUSE we were conservative. You said it yourself: the one time we did try to air it out, it was an interception if not for the flag. I don't mean any hate on the guy but being objective here, we have a young qb who at this point in time has a negative TD/INT ratio (who as far as I am aware has never gone a game with a positive TD/INT ratio either, though he has gotten a neutral rating such as in this game). A critical interception in a close game is one way to make it not so close. Even if that weren't the case, he is still a young developmental guy. I think playing conservatively is the way to go if you wanna put yourself in the position to win.

  12. We need to tackle better. If we would have done that we would of gotten off the field more often on 3 & 10. I felt like our offense was way way to vanilla. Look like they were still auditioning Rattler out there. I want to see them run the ball more doesn’t matter the down and distance. Man man penalties penalties were straight ridiculous.

  13. Hey Ross ❤ the Show.😊 Could you check out the pre snap penalties in the first game of the season, when KM took over as OC at SD, Dallas, and Philly please? 😊⚜️ I wouldn't ask unless, I Knew that you, were capable of letting us know 😁💪⚜️💜 My guess, 6-9 penalties each team, corrected to 2-4, in week 2. 🧐⚜️💜

  14. Only Kelce, Kittle, and Godert, due to their size😊 Dave Parks, would have Zero Chance 😮🧐😂💪⚜️. I LOVE, making the 6 Month Old Saints Fans use Joogle… Or Google 😂🥸🤣😭😭 Next one… Del Williams.. WE could use him NOW 😮🧐😂🤣😭😭😭⚜️⚜️ Hint… Trevor thinks so…😆🥸🤣😭⚜️

  15. I love the possitove crowd noise on the game winning catch that wasn't. I think the fans sent the players a clear message saying just how much they will be rewarded for their effort when they break through for real.
