Washington Nationals vs vs Miami Marlins – FULL GAME HIGHLIGHTS | September 8, 2025 MLB Season
Well, it’s another soggy Monday here in South Florida, but apparently it’s not preventing some from being out on the water. I 95 a little slow today. Here inside the air conditioned comfort of Lone Depot Park getting you ready for game, one of a long four game series between the Marlins and the Nationals on FanDuel Sports Network brought to you by FPL. Kate Kavali will make his second consecutive start against the Marlins and returning from the injured list is Jansen Junk on Bark at the park night here in Miami. Two and a half weeks a little elbow ulner issue but he’s back out there and we love Jansen cuz he loves to fill up the strike zone. His first pitch of the ball game. Two two coming from Junk is carved in the air. Shallow left going out and making the catch. Maximoa Costa. Nicely done. One up and one down for Junk as Woods on the 2- two. And that is flown to center field. Hit it pretty good. Marcy’s going back over his head off the base of the wall. Wood is on his way to second. He’s standing up with a one-out double. 3-2. Bell swings and he lifts it in the air on the infield. Otto Lopez calling off Xavier Edwards who makes the catch and he swings and misses at a curve ball. Strike three and the inning is over and Jansen Junk works around a one-out double here in the first. Making back-to- back starts against the Marlins. Coming off his second career victory. First pitch swinging. Xavier Edwards bounces out to first. There’s one away. Same guy you saw in DC. So you have a much better idea of his pitches. Oh, he can feel this position. Well, at a little backhand flip to first. Luis Garcia Jr. Young man, second baseman, leads off top of the second. High fly ball to right field and this is gone. About six rows deep into the upper deck of the home run porch. One- nothing Washington. Number 13 for Garcia. Two weeks and change are all hitting below 200 as D Young shoots this one in the air behind first and shallow right. Here comes Victor Mesa Jr. and he’s got it. But he saw some terrific games in college. Swings here and he lines one to left. That’ll hang up for Troy Johnson. Inning over. Nationals get a run. There goes Lopez. Throw down to second base. It’s not in time. Got in just ahead of the tag by Abrams. Nationals thinking about taking a look. That was a lot closer than I thought it would be because Otto got a really nobody out. One- nothing Washington here in the second. Ariberto Hernandez grounds one right side into right field. The base hit. Hicks is around second headed towards third. Throw comes in towards second and it is now one to one on the AR. Runner goes. Pitch swung on and missed. And then he put on the brakes at first and he grounds one to first. A fair ball. Bell stops on the bag and the inning is over. But the Marlins going to run to tie it. Thought maybe. Two-2 is grounded to first. Speaking of Jeremy Tache, let’s go downstairs and say hello to him tonight. One will come to Bell and he rips it to right but right at Mesa who’s got it. Tidy third for Junk. Man, he’s going through it right now as Jacob Marcy rips one past Josh Bell at first. Watch him fly into the corner. Over to grab it is Cruz. Marcy will hit the bag at second and stop there. Picked up another struggling Marlin right now. And they just picked him off. Or as soon as he sees him hop that a lot of times we’ll see the pitcher looking at the catcher and the catcher will flip the glove down, he’ll turn. This was all on Cavali who saw Jacob Marcy hop a little bit and alertly alert. Many major leaguers if you can get there as Cruz swings and he bangs that into center field for a base hit. Here comes Garcia around third. He’ll score. Now Cruz is hung up between first and second. Hicks’s throw down to second base is in time and they got him. And Dylan Cruz says not so fast my friend. Played defensively because the Marlins try to pull it off and is challenging this. I’ll call the second base. Oh, he might be in there. Leading because it two runs on five hits and Abrams yanks one down the right field line. The fair ball into the corner. CJ is on his way to second. Loses his helmet. He’ll stop there with a leadoff double. He’s had a good second half. Bell lines one out into right field for a base hit. That’ll make it three to one national stop. And it took an injury for them to put him back at second. When he was playing shortstop, he was making one error after another. Things were going and he’s a bit banged up right now. And he shoots one into center field for base hit. All the base runners had to hold up. Everybody will advance 90 ft. Bell scores. And now it’s a 4 to1 game. Seventh game tonight. He’s like a 170 lifetime hitter. Flies this to center field and pretty deep for Marcy who makes the catch. That’s a sacrifice fly. And now it’s 5 to one. 5-1 Washington. And Cruz might have just made it 8 to one. And he did. His eighth of the season. [Applause] reinstated all of those guys. This is ripped to right center field. Extra bases for Victor Mesa Jr. who’s on his way to second with a one out double here in the fifth. And the game fluctuates in that regard as Edwards bangs one into second for a base hit. Boy, how nice did that feel? Mesa scores from second to make it 8-2. The exit velocity record in the big st someday quote easily ball to short. Abrams will take care of it. And aside and there’s been some great ones. Josh Bell sends one high and deep to left center field. See you later. Josh Bell. 102 Washington. Yeah, to follow it and not be there. Oh, that clips Simpson and a run will score. Oh, Josh Bell with a high fly ball to right field. He’s gone deep for the second time tonight. That makes it 13-2. [Applause] And there always will be. And he swings and misses here to retire the side. And we’ll go to the top of the eighth. 13-2 nets. Oh gosh. A nice play out at shortstop by Maxima Costa. Wow. That’s off the end of the bat. Grounded softly to second or Edwards waits on it. Throws out to Young. And a quick and easy eighth for George. Tripped into left field for a base hit. Here comes Liam Hicks around third. He’ll score. Standing up. There’s a fly ball in the air to right field. This is crushed. Victor Mason Jr. with a homer. His first as a big leager. And that ball came back into right field. So saving it. Save it. Oh no. Be a nice guy. I’ll give it to a fan. That’s going to end the inning. But the Marlins get four runs here in the bottom of the eighth. Now James Wood rips one out towards right center field. That’ll play a run. Cruz scores from second. Hassel goes first to third is yours. It’s going to sneak in a shallow right and a base hit for Josh Bell. And James Wood goes first to third. I’m not even sure he knew that that wasn’t a double play ball. James Wood was just kind of lolly gagging around second and pitch number 50 is bounced to second. We’ll go to the bottom of the ninth. It’s 15-6 Washington. Jacob Marcy to deep right center field. way back there and gone. [Music] Yeah, it’s very similar. Had the two close games in DC and then the Marlins lost the third game 10 to five. I think it was pitch number 34 from Ogasawara and Jack Winkler lifts it in the air down the left field line. That’s a fair ball. And Winkler is on his way to second. Standing up with a double. Ground ball right side. Garcia’s got it. And that’s going to do it, folks. Final score here tonight came one of a four game series.

What a crowd!
Is Valente Bellozo still on the Marlins roster or has he been demoted to the minor leagues?
