Mina Kimes is WORRIED about Aaron Rodgers vs. the Jets’ blitz 👀 | NFL Live

New on NFL Live from Steelers reporter Brooke Prior just talked with Cam Hayward who said he’s preparing when asked if he’s going to play on Sunday, but there’s nothing definitive about his status as contract discussions continue for the OG. So something to keep our eye on this weekend when the Steelers visit the Jets Sunday. It’ll be the first ever season opening game featuring starting quarterbacks who changed the teams they started for the previous year. Aaron Rogers now with Pittsburgh, of course. Justin Fields with the Jets. Rogers downplayed coming back to Metife Stadium, saying he’s just excited for week one as he enters his 21st season in the NFL. Well, the Steelers have struggled to find a replacement for Ben Rothllessberger. The only team with fewer passing touchdowns over the last two seasons is, wait for it, the New York Giants with 30. Uh they also ranked 24th in precision pass percentage and total QBR over that time. Yeah, it’s been a revolving door of quarterbacks there. Uh, Swagu, what must we see from Aaron Rogers in Pittsburgh? Swag. My bad, Hannah. I was just I was just getting getting over being pissed off that Philly signs a Darius Smith, so I was I got distracted during a live show. Okay, here’s the deal. Here’s the deal. When when we get to Aaron Rogers, the one thing I will be focused on is mobility. Mobility for Aaron Rogers and how much how how much how much impact this run game will have. Look, Aaron Rogers is great and we know about his history and his career, but this is a league now where you’re going to have to get off your spot and make plays outside of the box and he was phenomenal at doing it. So, that’ll be something that I have my eyes on, especially with Quinnon Williams creating and generating pressure in the center of the pocket on drop backs. Will he have the ability to do this enough? I’m not saying turn back the hands of time and become the athlete that you were, but this league now in this day and age, your quarterback is going to be uncomfortable and have to make some plays outside of his own element. And that’ll be the thing I’m looking for. But again, the run game will help him tremendously be able to be the quarterback that that Pittsburgh is hoping he can be. Yeah, they got to be able to run the ball. Uh that’s where the Harrison Phillips edition in New York is interesting to me. The other thing I think um I’m interested in from the Jets perspective. Are they going to heat them up? Because last year Aaron Rogers was really bad against the Blitz. 30th in QBR, 33rd in yards per attempt. And if there’s one thing I know about Aaron Glenn, their new head coach, and Steve Wils, their defensive coordinator, they love sending extra rushers. You got to think they’re going to ask Sas Gardner to man up DK Mechaf for much of this game. So, I think the question is, okay, if you send pressure, can you get home? And also, can you take away the other answers like John Smith and whatnot? Because Aaron Rogers has proven to be quite susceptible of against that at this point in his career. You know what? I love the fact that you mentioned Janu Smith meaning because Janu Smith is truly going to be the number two receiver on this team. You’re going to see some 12 personnel with Pat Frier move on the field moving Janu Smith to the youth position where he can go in motion. You can create trips some bunch formations where you can allow him and DK Metaf to work from the same side. And to me it’s going to be can Aaron Roger some way play fearless right we know that he’s throughout his career he’s been risk averse. The Pittsburgh Steelers don’t need that. It’s going to be about Jaylen Warren. It’s going to be about Kenneth Gainwell. Caleb Johnson will play into that as well, the draft pick from Iowa. But can Aaron Rogers put some juice into this offense? Listen, I went to training camp practice and Marcus, you right. I don’t know if he going to be able to run around and I don’t know if he going to be able to get out of sight in a day, but I tell you what, he could still throw it. There were passes getting up on wide receivers so quickly that had been in Pittsburgh for their career. You could tell they had never seen somebody that could really throw since Ben Rothllessberger retired. And what I loved about that is Arthur Smith saying, “We got to catch up. We got to get back with it.” And so you talk you think you think run game first and then Aaron Rogers pushing the football down the field to DK Metaf and Jean Drew Smith. It could get exciting with protection. Yeah. Uh five touchdown passes shy by the way of tying Brett F for the fourth mo fourth most in history. And it is time for our first game picks of the season. And we are all on the Steelers. Oh, I know what that means. And that’s the gong because that’s our curse, the NFL live curse. If we all pick the same team, they lose sometimes. That’s going to be tough today because we are all of one mind here on a lot of this. And Swagu broke the news moments ago. Swagu, former Lions defensive end Zarius Smith is signing a one-year deal with the Philadelphia Eagles. Yeah, another pass rusher for Philly. I mean, you know, Howie Roseman wasn’t just going to sit still. Hey, you know, you know, Dank had way too much time. Howie Roseman said, “No, I’m drop a dime on him.” Yeah. And I bet How’s not done either, right? So anyway, that’s that’s very He don’t sleep. Huh? He don’t sleep, man. Yeah. Howard Roseman don’t sleep. And that’s why he does not sleep. And it pisses me off that he stays up so much because he always do the do the right thing. Well, you know what? You can just blame your Cowboys and last night for that if you want to. Swag. All right. Next, Micah Parsons. Yeah. [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music]

  1. The Steelers can have Aaron Rodgers, Jerry Rice, Barry Sanders, Joe Greene, Deion, and Moss all in their primes…and Mina would STILL spit out her haterade towards them. I just can’t watch ESPN anymore. Too woken and too emotional.

  2. RedZone offense. Pitt kicked the most fg last year. This is what Pitt has done that nobody talks about. DK and 3 big TE's and a QB that can pre snap read Defenses in the RedZone.

  3. Eagles signed smith must of seen the same thing I seen Thursday night 0 pass rush I know Carter was out of that game but I do think they lost to many people during the offseason on that defense!!!
