NBA LIVE! Los Angeles Lakers vs Sacramento Kings | September 9, 2025 | Lakers vs Kings LIVE (2K26)

Well guys, LeBron James arguably the most versatile player in league history. He said, quote, “I don’t have a position. I’m not a point guard, a shooting guard, a small forward, a power forward, or a center. I’m just a ball player. I do a little bit of everything and whatever it takes to win. That’s my job description. This guy’s one of one. Ally, thank you.” Here are the five for the Lakers. Ruy Hachimura is out there with DeAndre Aiden. Then it’s Luca Donuch. Then there’s LeBron James and it’s Reeves in at the shooting guard position. And for Sacramento up front, it’ll be Murray and Sabonis. Dennis Shruder is out there with Zack Lavine and it’s D Rozan in a small forward. Well, when we look at tonight, this could come down to the back courts, Grant. They’re both very talented. Yeah, BA, you know, I love great guard play and of course each team has some serious skills at that position. So, expect a fast pace of play, lots of threes. It should be one heck of a matchup. So, the Lakers win the tip. Pass to James. Aimura with a ball and they doubled up. Donic and there’s James from the ark. Buries it from three. He’s becoming more and more reliable. LeBron James in the twilight of his career being able to knock down three-pointers. Lavine finds Murray. Just five to shoot. Back to Lavine. And Lavine throws it down. Known for his explosive athleticism. Got to like watching Lavine finish with power at the basket. Pass to Donic to the inside and he slams it in one-handed. Now that’s how you capitalize on a screen. Yeah, good positioning too. Gave him a clear path to the hoop. Really not enough help there. Lack of communication on the backside. Now here’s Sabonis. out to Shruder and Aiden pulls it down. He loved to make them pay for giving up that wide open jumper just unable to do so. James against D Rozan. The open shot Donic and misses it off the right side of the rim. Everybody up for that. My goodness. You could just feel that coming. And that’s the sauce right there. I mean, every night, Lavine approaches the rim like it’s a dunk contest. Here in the first quarter with about 2 minutes gone by, James outside back to Donic. And they doubled up. Donic pass to Reeves and the shots off. One for two in this one. Well, Sabona is such a huge asset to this team. Plays the four and the five spot really well. Very good passer and he’s deserved the two All-Star appearances in the Eastern Conference. Starting to find his rhythm. He’s cooking and he knows it. Yeah, right now I don’t see any let out. Think he’s going to just keep putting his foot on that gas pedal tonight. The Lakers with another miss. Yeah, that miss might stick with him for a little while. That’s kind of a shootaround jumper if I’ve ever seen one. Lavine finds Shruder. Aiden against Sabonis. And here’s Shruder outside the Lakers with a rebound. And how about the impact that Sabonis has had thus far, Brent? Well, the reliability BA is down there on the glass and doing the dirty work, trying to grab those boards and get some scrappy points in the paint. That’s what Sabonis is all about. So, he’s got the entire package as an inside player. Take a break. Take a break. Two shots. And he makes a first. Yeah. The shocker of the 2022 trade deadline. A deal centered around Damontes Sabonis going to Sacramento and Tyrese Hallebertton sent to Indie. Both free throws good from James. that blockbuster Sabonis Hallebertton trade. What do you make of it for the Kings? Well, you know, BA Sacramento was a guardheavy team. Sabonis adds size. He also adds playmaking. And I love his motor. I think it was a move to even out their roster. Now here’s Shruder up and over Donic and too long on the shot. And even with the miss, that’s a high percentage shot for him. Reeves. That shot missing. Nice D from Sabonis for Sacramento. They’ve gone three of six from the floor. D Rozan outside. That shot off the mark. And Los Angeles the other way now. Up ahead. Here’s Reeves. Welltimed pass and he goes straight to the bucket for the layup. Well, Hachimura not known as a playmaker but unselfish play that is part of his game. James against D Rozan back to Shruder. This one for three and it’s good. First made shot in four attempts. And right there, Dennis Shruder shows some confidence by nailing the jumper. Donic passes to Aimura. The officials were right on top of that one. Take a break. Take a break. Two shots. The first free throw is good. LeBron James coming into the league as a phenom has done some phenomenal things season after season, remaining a top talent in the league and continues to astound. Both free throws good from James. The Kings trailing. D Rozan outside up top. Shruder. Guarded by Donic. Shruder. Passes to Lavine. Good D by Donic. And here comes the break. Aimura with the ball. Checked by Murray to the right side. Here’s Aiden. And again, the Lakers no good. The Kings have gone four of nine in this one so far. And there’s the call on Rui Aimura. That’s his first foul of the game. D Rozan finds Lavine. Shot clock at six. misses the finger roll. For him, it’s harder to miss that shot than it is to make that shot. I think he was anticipating a bit of a bump there. Pass to Shruder. He can’t get that one to fall. Excellent D there from Aiden to the paint. And he converts the layup. James has got nine. Just powering to his shot that time. LeBron being assertive. And that streaking rack attack is the mobile one drive. Yeah. Taking the onus on himself to make something happen. Got it into the teeth of the defense and made them pay. Now here’s Shruder. Pass to Murray over Ashimura. Murray no good. The Lakers in the lead. Aimura. The pass to Donic. James outside. Aimura outside. Fires from deep. Rebound by the Kings. Not sure how he finds himself in so much space there. He’s kicking himself for whiffing a bit on that one. Pass to Murray on the wing to Rosen. Sacramento again missing. Los Angeles has gone one of two from three-point land so far. They get it back out now to Aimura. Goes back up. Here’s Aiden. Goes up again and he lays it in and the Lakers lead by six. Yeah, if Aiden can get in that kind of position, he can be a bully on the inside. Timeout call. Sacramento. Well, DeAndre Aiden was so valuable in that 2021 playoff run for the Suns. shot over 65% the entire postseason on their way to that NBA Finals appearance. Heat. Heat. And a new group getting ready for the Lakers. Hayes is checked in for Eightton. Vanderbilt comes in for Achimura. Smarts checked in for Reeves. And Vincent is subbed in for Donic. Now here’s Shruder outside. Lavine Sabonis outside pass to Shooter. Five to shoot. That one rolls around and rims out. And for the Lakers, they’re shooting only 31% to get this game underway. Here’s Smart. Soft touch off the glass. And now an eight-point Laker lead. And you love how LeBron is able to lift the whole team with his passing. That facilitating gives him a lot of energy. Sabonis left side to Rozan outside. Pass to Lavine. A shot to stop the drone. Los Angeles has gone one of two from three-point land so far. Here’s Smart. That falls. Nice feed that time from James. Smart has gotten his second bucket of the game. So far, they’re owning both ends of the floor. We’ll see if they can keep this going. Like tonight, that all the hustle plays have meant so much to this team. Now just sustain some of that energy and keep comfortable. Here’s Vincent. Second shot opportunity gets rebounded by Sabonis. Sabonis has got four rebounds now. Lavine against Smart to the middle. Here’s Murray. The Lakers with a rebound. James has got his sixth rebound on the night. Here’s Smart. Oh, and there’s the whistle on the shot. So, two free throws for him coming up. It’s on Zack Lavine. Take a break. Take a break. Two shots. That free throw no Good. And he can’t get the second one to drop either. Coming up empty that time. They’re searching for a way to score. Yeah, buckets have been very tough to come by. Here’s D Rozan and a different kind of score. D Rozan attempted 741 mid-range jumpers last year, almost 300 more than anyone else. Two, two. First free throw is good. And that’s good as he hits both shots. Here’s James. He’s got nine. Smart outside. Pass to Vincent. Shruder with a rebound and Greg D. Roza high volume from the mid-range and extremely accurate. You know, BA, he consistently makes about half those shots and defensively, you know, that’s his favorite area, but his ball handling and vertical negate anything you throw at him. Now, here is James. Here’s Smart. gets rebounded by Sabonis. Sabonis has got six rebounds in the game. Pass to Shruder. There’s a minute 54 left in the first quarter. The shot misses and Los Angeles the other way now. Smart left side and that one is stuffed right through. Nice one-handed jam. Simple ineffective PA. Hey, with the lead, I’m surprised he didn’t come up with something a little more creative. Pass to D Rozan. Right side. Shruder out of bounds. It’ll go to the Lakers. 121 left in the first. Smart outside and Vanderbilt slams it in and the lead increases on a crazy offensive sequence. Man, the dunk alone would have been incredible, let alone the fact that it came off a 10-point pass. Now here’s D Rozan. Back to Leavine. Shot clock at five. hook loose and that’ll be Sacramento’s ball as it goes out of bounds. Kings able to keep possession here. And here are the Kings now. A 12-point game. Los Angeles has gone one of two from three-point length and so far and great job to establish position and square up outside. Shruder pass to D Rozan. And here’s Lavine. The three. Sends it home from three-point land. Lavine’s got nine. Well, Lavine always has the green light from three-point land. He’s a very proficient range shooter. James outside. Down to five on the shot clock. offline from the top of the key. And so it’s Los Angeles. They have a nice 9-point cushion at the end of the quarter. And it’s all due to their ability to own the paint. They’ve been dominant down low. And don’t go far. We’ll be right back. And if you’re just tuning in, we’ve got at a wide margin on the scoreboard, but plenty of time left for a comeback. Taking a look at the Lakers performance here, guys. What are your thoughts? Yeah, showing grit on the glass is a good way to gain an advantage. They controlled the boards in the first. Well, if you get physical out out there, you can control the glass and that helps you to control the pace of the game. Well, Grant, every team is looking for that perfect five on the floor, that magical lineup. In your mind, is that synonymous with small ball? I I think it is, BA. I mean, having players that can play small, can switch on defense, obviously play multiple positions on the offensive end, it’s just a combination when executed properly could be a nightmare for the opponent. And so in the game for the Lakers, LeBron James out there with Ruyachimura, then it’s DeAndre Aton, then it’s Luca Donic, and it’s Reeves in at the two. Here’s Shruder after the Lakers picking up a basket just moments ago. D Rozan outside Murray. releases. No good. Off the back of the rim. Here’s Aimura. That’s good. His first made shot in three attempts. Yeah. Hachimura flexing on the inside now. Shruder against Donic. Shots good by Shruder. Shruder’s got five points. Well, he’s too good a finisher to blow that kind of chance, but that’s going to be a wakeup call to the defense. And that replay showed how sensational that drive truly was. Oh, I love the mindset to get at the rim right there. He knows they’re down and wants to spark a comeback. Donic outside, pass to James. Double team on James from deep. Here’s Donic. Yeah, and the defense has really got to tighten up on him. I mean, he’s just too dangerous from the three-point line. Stolen by Eightton for three. James hauled in by the Kings. Quarter two and about two minutes in. And it’s D Rozan missing now. James, he’s got nine inside. Oh, it’s stolen by D Rozan. Some room here for Shruder. It’s wide right. Hits off the rim. Los Angeles has gone 0 for two from outside in the second quarter. Sometimes LeBron just likes to take it all out on the rim that time on display. They need something good to happen here. Yeah, they’ve gone way too long without a score. Here’s D Rozan again. The miss by the Kings. I know he’s on a cold streak, but he can’t let that get in his head, especially if you’re a player that doesn’t get a lot of shot attempts, but otherwise the mindset is I just got to get the next one to go. And you don’t want to put that much pressure on yourself. Lavine can’t hit. The Lakers have got three of six shots to go here in the second quarter. Here’s Aimura. Rebound by the Kings. Sabonis has got 11 rebounds in the game. Donic on the wing. It’s rebounded by Sabonis. Sabonis has got rebound number 12 now. Tenacity on the glass. Right side. Lavine. A step back shot. Can’t get it to drop. And Los Angeles the other way now. Donic outside. Here’s Aidton. And he was fouled while in the act of shooting. So he’ll take two free throws. Assertive from wanting to score often and then forcing the D right there at his size to foul him. Shooting two. No good on the free throw. And Aiden with that efficiency just becomes an outstanding option for what you do offensively. And he sinks the second. Here’s Shruder. He’s got five. Timeout called Sacramento. Yeah, his shot is just not there tonight, guys. And instead of trying to shoot himself out of the slump, maybe he needs to start moving the ball around and creating for his teammates. Heat. Heat. outside. Murray on the wing. Lavine tries again and there’s the bucket as Sabonis finishes it off and Sabonis with the reward there for the hustle picking up the scraps pass to Reeves. Now here is James shoots it from the high post and that’s good for two. James has got four points this quarter and just totally relentless only increasing the intensity level. He’s the guy that you want to go go to right now trying to put this one away. Shruder finds Lavine. Rebound by the Lakers. Well, Grant, one thing Lavine has done since entering the league, he’s taken his strength training very seriously. No question. I mean, he can play a much more physical brand of ball now. We even see him post up with his back to the basket, converting through contact. It’s just part of his overall evolution. And here are the Kings now following the score by the Lakers. Just five on the clock. Murray no good. A bit long that time. The Lakers have gone five of 10 in the second quarter with the teardrop and it’s Donic missing. They’ve been having major problems offensively. Definitely in a bit of a dry spell from the top of the key. Doesn’t go that time. Something’s off about him this quarter. Well, he’s missing and it’s starting to affect a little bit in his body language and you just don’t want to see that. This King squad is struggling outside Lavine. Pass to Sabonis. James against D Rozan. Rebound by the Lakers. Donic has got four rebounds now. All right, let’s check in with Alli Leforce. Well, guys, the NBA expanding its footprint through video games. Commissioner Adam Silver said, quote, “There’s an opportunity to capture a new kind of fan who isn’t currently watching our games, but enjoys playing NBA 2K. By learning about the players and the teams, they’re more likely to engage in the live product.” Brian, yeah, it goes hand in hand, Ally. Thanks. Now, here’s Murray. Well, he hasn’t scored yet, but I’m sure that’ll change. Here’s Shruder. It’s a bonus. Out to Shruder. Back to Sabonis. D Rozan for three. Rebound by the Lakers. Donic has got five rebounds in the game. James inside. Defended by D Rozan. James can’t get it to go. D Rozan. Passes to Shruder. And here is D Rozan. Checked by James. Back to D Rozan. Another miss. They desperately need a bucket. The Lakers have gone six of 14 in the second quarter. Donic finds James. Pass to Aimura. that falls. Nice feed that time from James. James has got his fourth assist in this one. Timeout call. Sacramento. They’re giving up a lot of points in the paint. That’s something they have to address here. Yeah, coach knows that. They know that in the timeout they’re going to hear about it. Make the adjustment. Heat. Heat. Heat up Vanderbilts checked in for LeBron. Sabonis the pass to Lavine. Shruder against Donic. And there’s a whistle that’s going to go on Jared Vanderbilt. That’s foul number two for him. And yeah, he he still was moving at the point of contact. Left side shooter. Six to shoot. Here’s Lavine for three. Donic pulls down the board. Donic has got six rebounds in the game. Back to Aimura. Good third basket in six attempts. Great balance as Hachimura takes that hit and still converts. D Rozan outside. Lavine passes to Murray. Back to Lavine to halt the run. Dantic pulls down the board. Donic has got his seventh rebound here tonight. Pass to Aimura. Here’s Reeves. High arcing shot. Here’s Aiden. Oh, and the jam by Aton. Does it feel good as a big man like Aton to throw it down? You bet it does. Shruder finds D. frozen. Here’s Lavine. And so he draws the foul. Headed to the line to shoot a pair. Man, he made sure to get his money’s worth on that foul. two. That free throw good from Lavine. And every year Lavine seems to get better and better. His work ethic and desire to be great is evident. Hayes has checked in for the Lakers. Smart comes in for Donic. He’s off on the second. Los Angeles has gone 0 for four from beyond the arc here in the second quarter. Here’s Smart and he’ll draw the foul. He’ll head to the line for two. Demar D Rozan picks one up. Shooting two. That free throw misses. Good on the second one. Here’s Shruder. Five points in the game. Pass to D Rozan. It’s Hayes with the rebound. Now Los Angeles with it. They’re on a 20 to five run. Shruder again. Tachimura shoots over Shruder. Stolen by Shruder down low and the bucket counts and he is on his way to the line. He’ll try to make it a three-point play. It’s impressive how he’ll find any advantage he can get. D. Rozan is tremendous at putting his man in an awkward position. That’s good from D Rozan. We’ve got a minute 48 left in the second period. Here’s Reeves covered by Shruder. Halled in by the Kings. Sabonis has got his 18th rebound here tonight. All over the place. Lavine. And the foul is called. He missed it. So, he’s got a couple of free throws coming his way. Lavine’s gotten better and better at drawing contact and getting to the line. He had to work at it as a young player, but that work has paid off. Two shots. No good on that one. and the second free throw is good. Los Angeles has gone 0 for four from beyond the arc here in the second quarter and that one drops. And once more this half they find a way to get great position inside. Now here’s Shruder. Five points in the game from down low. Yep. Count it. Shruder’s got seven. Trying to get more confident shooting from the interior. Shruder wants to keep adding some elements to the offensive end of his game. Here’s Vanderbilt. Uses the glass to finish the layup. Vanderbilt’s got his second basket of the game. Defensively, you can’t afford to get stuck on the pick. That’s one that the coaches will watch tomorrow with that player. You hate to see him give up in that situation. Smart against Murray. Aimura up top. And the call is going to be yes, an illegal screen. You’re not going to fool the officials too often on an illegal screen. Yeah, everybody saw that one. That was pretty blatant there. Just two seconds between the shot clock and the game clock. Aimura against D Rozan. Pass to Shruder and stolen by Vanderbilt. Here’s Reeves. 43. Oh, he released it in time, but it’s off the mark. And so it’s LeBron James making things happen for the Los Angeles Lakers. eight points in the quarter, showing how effective he can be. We’ll be back in a moment. It’s the 2K Sports Halftime Show. Hey and welcome back to the NBA on 2K Sports. Ernie Johnson here. If your name is Shaquille O’Neal, raise your hand, please. If your name is Shaquille O’Neal, raise your hand, please. I guess Shaq’s not here today. If your name is Kenny the Jet Smith, raise your hand, please. and I’m Kevin Harland. LeBron James putting in some incredible work. He ended up with 17 points, four assists, and one steel. This has been a bounceback game for him after some struggles their last time out. And let’s get your thoughts, Kenny, on the Lakers. The difference in bench points is staggering. Their second unit came to play tonight. They were aggressive. You got to figure the starters are loving it seeing how much work their second unit is getting done. Shaq, how do you think Sacramento played? I know it’s not the case, but it seemed like they were lacking on the offensive game plan. Maybe some guys were improvising when they should have been making the next pass, but hey, not looking good out there. That’s all for now. Say goodbye to the folks. Thanks for joining us. Third quarter just about ready to begin. Yeah, there wasn’t too much drama in the first half, but maybe things will tighten up here in the second. You know, LeBron James has been exceptional here, guys. He took a head-on approach in the first half, going straight at the D and drawing fouls. Yeah. almost inviting contact. That attack mentality on full display. Just about ready for the second half here. A big comeback is needed for this game to be competitive and it probably has to happen quickly. Up front it’ll be Murray and Sabonis. Zack Lavine out there with Dennis Shruder and it’s D Rozan in at the small forward position. So that’s the five in the game for Sacramento. Now here’s Shruder. Six on the shot clock. Here’s Lavine for three. It’s hauled in by Luca Donuch. It’s clear he’s totally out of sync. The team needs to rethink its strategy around what to do with him. Can’t hit that one. Here’s Sacramento now. Outside Lavine. Here’s D. Rozan and no good. So the Lakers will take it the other way. Here’s Reeves. He’s covered by Lavine. The shot by Reeves. No good. D Rozan for three. The Lakers with a rebound. James has got doubledigit rebounds now in the game. Shot is good by Reeves. He’s got six. A great move. I mean, the defense has no response. Well, just ripping through right there as he he finds the open spot and gets right through there. High basketball IQ play. Here’s Lavine following the score by the Lakers. Pass to Shruder. Here’s Sabonis outside. Lavine. Late clock here. The Kings need to get one up. Sacramento again missing. That’s his shot and one I’m sure he wants back. James outside. Here’s Reeves and the Lakers get it back and he lobbs it up. Tries to keep it alive and that one goes out of bounds. Last touch by Murray. Yeah, that’s a tough one. An experienced player in the pro game shouldn’t be making that pass. into the third. Two minutes 10 now. Here’s James. Boy, they had their chances. Two offensive rebounds, but still coming up empty. Sacramento has got nothing to fall from outside in this third quarter. And here’s Shruder. He has seven. The ball’s knocked loose. Five on the clock. Oh, a clear foul there on the missed shot. So, he’ll get a pair at the line. It’s going to be on DeAndre Eaton. Sabona is such a fantastic prospect. A guy you think is going to play 10 or 12 years in this league. And a good job there getting contact and getting to the line. Shooting two. That one’s off. Sabonis is a guy you have to watch closely in terms of how relentless he is trying to get in there, mix it up, play physical. He just never stops fighting. That’s off as well. So, he misses both. The Lakers have gotten just one of five shots to drop since halftime. Donic outside and they doubled up Donic. Here’s Reeves from outside off the mark. The Kings have gone 0 for four. Not the way they want to start the second half. Murray passes to D Rozan. Shruder against Aimura. No good that time. Ooh, excellent D there from Eaton. And there’s James from the ark. The Lakers with another miss. Murray passes to Shruder. Aimura against Lavine. grabs the rebound again and he hauls in his 20th rebound. Just dominating the glass. Here’s Shruder. Misses and the dry spell continues. Boy, you love how guys are making plays for one another here. Yeah, just a balanced attack. A total team effort and the tally just keeps going up for LeBron James and his career scoring total. Another night, third all time now along with Carl Malone and Kareem Abdul Jabar. Got to love the effort there. An unders size four who can really make things happen with that leaping ability and he got the whistle on the way up. So he’ll be headed to the line for a pair. Demar D Rozan picks one up. You got to be careful. Once LeBron breaks the seal of the free throw line, there’s a lot of power and a lot of muscle coming at you. Usually, it ends up with free throws. All right, guys. Some stats here. The scoring breakdown for the Lakers. I mean, they’ve played some beautiful basketball all game. The passing has been impressive and it’s opened up things with their ball movement. Well, something else that has stood out is their uptempo offense. I mean, these guys have been on the track all game long. They’re creating high percentage looks getting out there on the fast break. Vincent’s checked in for Los Angeles. It’s both from the stripe. Sacramento has got nothing to fall from outside in this third quarter. Pass to D Rozan. Back to Shruder. Three-pointer. Rebound by the Lakers. Donic left side. And here’s Achimura. The shot is good. Donic making the play. Donic has got six assists in the game. Boy, they’d love if anyone could get a bucket. Yeah, their offense has been grinding to a halt. And it’s D Rozan missing. The Lakers have gone cold here in this third quarter. Just three of nine. The shot by James. No good. Here are the Kings with the ball now. Here’s Murray. Oh, and he got fouled on his way up. He’ll head to the line to shoot two. Murray can score in a multitude of ways. Oh, yes he can, BA. I mean, he can feast from the post, the mid-range, and the three-point line as well. He always plays under control at his own pace. And that’s why he looks so fluid out there on the floor. Shooting two And he drops a first. That’s also good. So, he hits both free throws. The Lakers dominating the game. Just four points. That’s all they’ve given up here in the second half. Here’s Vincent. Boy, he’s been patient so far. Nothing yet on the scoreboard on the wing. Lavine looking to get back on track and Aiden pulls it down. Aton’s got his 16th rebound on the night and out of bounds. The Kings will take it. Shruder passes to D Rozan. Now Lavine and here’s Shruder outside and Aiden pulls it down. Aton’s got rebound number 17 if you can believe that. Here’s Vincent covered by Shruder. James outside back to Aimura. Just five on the clock. That one is off. Nice D from Sabonis. Pass to Shruder. Back to Lavine. Now here’s Sabonis. Let’s go with a three. Rebounded by LeBron. James has got a rebound number 12 here already in the game. To the middle. Here’s Aton. Oh, and the jam by Aton. What elevation. He’s a smaller but still determined big man and he likes mixing it up with his impressive vert. Lavine passes to Murray. Outside Lavine again. The miss by the Kings. Los Angeles has got nothing to fall from outside in this third quarter. Second chance shot inside. Vincent. The shot is good. Donic making the play. And it’s Sacramento’s ball. D. Rozan outside. Outside. Shruder. Right side, Lavine. James with the rebound. Well, the Lakers shooting only 40% from the floor in this game. Here’s Aimura and the officials whistle a foul on the shot. The bucket is good and he’ll go to the line. hit one shot. Strong finish by Hachimura on that play. And the Lakers with some changes. Hayes comes in for Aiden and Smart subbed in for Luca Donuch. Free throw good. Hachimura. Yeah, Hachimura being able to step out and shoot threes. That’s huge for his development. Offensively, it’s been a struggle for him. Yeah, they need to string together some shots to have any kind of chance. Now, here’s Lavine. He’s got 11. James with the block. Pass to Smart. Throws it up high and the lob disrupted. Not to be. Here’s Lavine for three. The shot no good. And the Lakers will go the other way with it. Back to Vincent. So, it’ll be two free throws. He was fouled in the act of shooting. It’s on Zack Lavine. And the first one at the line is good. And the Lakers making a change here. Vanderbilt’s checked in. And that one goes in. Two from the line that time. And here are the Kings now. D Rozan outside. Sabonis finds Lavine to stop the drought. Rebound by the Lakers. Hayes has got five rebounds tonight. It’s not going to go for him. Oh, nice D from Shruder to the inside and it’s Murray finishing it off. And trust me, Dennis Shruder would love to score the basketball, but his ability to set up his teammates is also effective. Back to Smart. Pass to Hayes. And the officials call goalending. So they’ll award the basket. He almost blocked that shot in time. Just a n a second late. Hayes has gone two for three from the field. D Rozan outside. Lavine with it and there’s the whistle. Illegal screen is the call. You can get away with one once in a while, but it looked like he wasn’t completely set on that pick. Yeah, a quick little lean like that is going to get the ref’s attention. Foul called. And what a phenomenal replay of that impressive rejection. Showing no signs of giving up this lead. That block sent shock waves into the opposition sails. Pass to James. Double team on James. And a bit of a battle for the ball. And the officials signal a jump ball here. And the Lakers have possession. Double team on James. Vanderbilt. That’s the kind of passing you want there. Work the ball around, keep it moving, try to get an assist on every bucket. Lavine passes to Shruder. D Rozan outside Lavine. Pass to Sabonis. Clock at six. Shoots a fadeaway. Some solid defense from Hayes. Well, the defense was right up on him, so electing to go for the fadeaway there to create some room. Well, that makes sense. And it’s a Kings ball. D Rozan finds Murray out to Shruder. Pass to Sabonis to the paint. Here’s Murray. Second chance effort. Rebounded by the Lakers. Got to appreciate the aggressive defense he brings. Well, it’s about the defensive end and that’s what guys feed off. He gives the effort down there at all times. I mean, do you think a little or even a big bump is stopping LeBron? His determination is part of what makes him a future Hall of Famer. Reeves has checked in for Vincent. One shot. One shot. And we’ve got 118 left in the third quarter. D Rozan passes to Shooter to the left wing. Here’s Sabonis again. The miss by the Kings. Los Angeles has got nothing to fall here in the third. 0 for four. Here’s Smart Sub bonus with some nice D. So it’s Sacramento now. Things just don’t seem to be clicking for them offensively. Yeah, they really need to find a way to get back on track. You have to limit mistakes. They’re so tough to overcome. Well, not making things easier on themselves right now, that’s for sure. Smart against Lavine. The drive by Smart to the middle. Sabonis against Hayes outside Vanderbilt. And there’s the drive. The rebound by Murray. Two seconds separating the shot clock in the game clock. Pass to Shruder. Sabonis with it. Shruder. Passes to Sabonis. Back to Shruder. Now D Rozan. Oh, no. Good again. That time at the end of the third quarter, a huge lead. This one may have already been decided. The Lakers on top, running away with it. And time for a short break. Stay right there. The fourth quarter is coming up next. And now we have a moment to reveal our State Farm assist of the game. Woo! I’m fired up to see this dish one more time. It’s always great to see your two guards share the wealth. Yeah, sometimes that’s what can separate some of the best players, not just creating for yourself, but creating for others as well. And one quarter to go in a game that to this point has not been an evenly fought contest on the court for the Lakers to start the fourth. Jared Vanderbilt out there with LeBron James. Then there’s Marcus Smart. Then there’s Hayes and it’s Donuchin at the point. So it’s Sacramento now. And he’s going to the line for two. The official saw contact while he was going up. That’s a good stroke by McDermott looking to find opportunities like that. He has limitless range. Take a break. Take a break. Two shots. And that one misses. He hits the second from the line. Well, Los Angeles shooting just under 40% from the field. James outside. Smart outside. James outside. Pass to Smart. Good. Good. And it’s good for two. Easy look when the defender isn’t fighting over the screen. Yeah, the coach over there just asking for one simple thing and that’s some effort. Got burned on that one. That was another look at our Mobile One drive of the game just a moment ago. Yeah, that’s a little icing on the cake right there. Putting on a show while they enjoy a big second half lead. Now here’s Charage. Back to Carter. Pass to Mcder. Defended by Smart. Kept alive by Sacramento. Oh, just couldn’t take the lid off. They had their chances. Came up empty. James with the ball. The rebound by Eubanks. Well, he finds some space in that in between gap there. Too bad he can’t release that one on target. Pass to Charich takes a three and he’s doing things on the glass tonight that we don’t often see. Well, this kind of effort for will energize the team and get you going. Just gobbling up every board. Donic no good. Well, the D really getting away with one there. No one on him. And that’s going to be good nine out of 10 times. Here’s Eubanks and he bangs it home with one hand. Oh man, exploding to the rim. Yep. Makes the simple play. Smart passes to Donic from the ark and it’s Smart missing. The Kings have gotten only one of five to fall here in the fourth. It’s good. That’s the kind of passing right there that makes a difference not just in that possession but maybe on your play for the entire game. Now here is James and finished off by Hayes. Oh my, what a display of effort. That’s his bread and butter, right? Chasing down the boards. Stick with fundamentals there. Shot goes up, box out or he’ll destroy you. Here’s Carter. Charich with it. Puts it up. That one a little long. That might not be the shot they want him taking even with the D backing off and finished off by Hayes. The gliding the pass to where it needed to be. Wow. A strong finish to seal the deal. Here’s Carter. Rebounded by the Lakers. Donic has got 13 rebounds in the game. Glass eating. Smart outside. Back to James to the inside. Hayes. Yes, it’s good. Hayes has got six points in the quarter. Like a matador. Olay. There was no defense. That has to be one of the easier shots I’ve seen tonight. Yeah, feels like Christmas right now. Just gift wrapping points. Pass to Mcder now. Charich guarded by Vanderbilt. Carter from outside. Donic for the block. James outside. The three is up and there’s Donic. That’s good on the assist by James. They’ve been very well-rounded and extremely focused. Coaching staff probably most proud of the effort of this team on both ends of the floor here tonight. Now, here’s Charich. Uses the glass on the layup. Charich, one of those guys with size and a combination of a deaf touch and in close he’s effective. Pass to Smart. Back to James and he gets it to go. James has got 26. He’s been a piece of the puzzle tonight, but it’s a team effort. Everyone’s contributing to this lead inside. He’s defended by Hayes. Oh, plenty of contact on that shot. Officials call the foul and he’ll take two free throws now. Man, good whistle there. Take a break. Take a break. Two shots. The first one falls and the Lakers will go for a different look here. He’s perfect from the line this time. And the Lakers have possession from deep. Here’s Donic. And the Lakers hit again from deep. Defense was all over Donic. So he smartly uses a pick to get free to shoot. down low on the wing. McDermott down to five on the shot clock lets it fly and once again off the mark by Sacramento. Now here’s Donic. That one goes. Count it. And that’s a double double for him. Now, when you watch Luca play, you can’t forget he’s 6’7. He can more than hold his own inside. Mcdermad with the ball now. Donic defending. McDermott can’t get it to go. The Lakers have gotten eight of 13 shots to find the basket in the fourth quarter. Count it for Vincent. And let’s face it, when you’re down this many points, you simply can’t let him get that good of a look. Teachable moment there. Collapses like this are back breakers. Now here’s Carter. Pass to Charich. A shot to stop the run. Rebound by the Lakers. And they’ve won the battle on the board so far and the scoreboard reflects that. Yeah, it’s not just about stop stopping the offense in the scouting report. It’s about knowing where to be when those shots are going to be missed. And they’re doing a nice job on the rebounding. Now here’s Donic unable to get that one. That’s tipped. Boy, they need something to go to regain some confidence. No question. Way too many empty possessions for them. Outside Carter up and over Donic. Carter can’t get it to go. Los Angeles has gone three of six from downtown so far in the fourth. Defended by Mcder. Pass to Vincent. Steps back and fires. misses off the right iron. Charich with it. He’s checked by Cleba outside Carter. And here’s Mcder. Shot is good by Cleba. changing ends quickly, scoring before the defense can set up. They’ve been doing it all game. Yeah, their energy level’s been amazing. Battery bar still full, hustling, and still working hard out there. Now, here’s Mcder. Shot clock at six. Back to Carter. Gets the jumper from the corner to fall. Carter’s got his first points in this one. and Shahic just one of those European players that comes over with the fundamentals. Beautiful play there. Clea outside. Here’s Vincent. It’s hauled in by Charich. Charich has got six rebounds now in the game. Drives to the hoop. Outside Carter pass to Mcder. Doesn’t go for him. So the Lakers will take it the other way. Back to Donic. Clea right side. Come on. Let’s go. The Lakers got to get one up. Late clock and it’s off the back of the rim. No good. Sacramento has gone 0 for three here in the fourth. And the shot counts. He’s fouled. And it’s a chance for a three-point play. Monk. He’s checked in for Sacramento. And the Lakers making a change here. One shot. Los Angeles has gone three of six from downtown so far in the fourth. Back to Vincent. Pass to ABC. Here’s the three. Benson can’t hit and Sacramento shooting only 29% since the fourth quarter began and a foul called on the way up. So he’ll take two from the free throw line. With that hard dribble, Shy Rich puts his head down and draws the foul. Shooting two. He misses the free throw. No good on the second free throw. The Lakers shooting just 42% so far in the game. And what a complete performance we saw from them. A dominant win in every way for the Lakers. And as we see the game wind down, you have to remember all the second chance buckets this team put on the board. They definitely won it with their offensive rebounding. We watched them attack the ball and turn misses into makes all game long. And as most people predicted, the defense, even though they were king on him, had no answers for LeBron James. It looked like a couple times they might be wearing him down, but not the case. At the offensive end, he was just devastated. Carter rebound by the Lakers. No way. There’s 49 seconds left to play in the fourth quarter. Pass to Vincent to the middle. Defended by Mcder. Oh, and he got fouled on his way up. He’ll head to the line to shoot two. It’s on Doug Mcder. Two shots. Max on the first. First one falls for him. And he makes the first but misses the second. Outside Monk and he was fouled while in the act of shooting. So he’ll take two free throws. shooting two. And he can’t get the first one. And he’s good on the second. 24 seconds left to play in the fourth. Just let the clock run out. Hey, it’s time to celebrate. Here’s Vincent. He’s checked by Carter. Vincent can’t hit now. Carter. And so it’s the Lakers easily grabbing this one. Boy, this crowd has to be shocked by the way their team was dismantled. Shocked and surprised. It doesn’t matter what the matchup is. You never expect a road team to just waltz in and cruise to the type of victory like we saw tonight. All right, Alli’s ready to go. She’s courtside. Hey, Ally. LeBron, you’ve accomplished so much in this league. How have you been able to sustain it for so long? No, it’s only a select few. It’s not many who make it to this point and and I would never take the game for granted. That’s why I try to give everything I can till I can’t give no more. And I’ve been around some great players, great coaches, great organizations and uh for me to have this opportunity right here means a lot. I’m very humbled. Well, you’re a sponge for knowledge and you have a great work ethic and it’s been fun to watch. Thanks, LeBron. All right, Ally. Good stuff there. Thanks for that. And that’ll do it folks alongside Brent Barry, Grant Hill, and Ally Leforce. This is Brian Anderson with our entire 2K crew thanking you for watching. We’ll see you later.
