REPORT: Shedeur Sanders won’t play this season unless things get “really weird” for the Browns
Uh, let’s get to our next topic, guys. It’s brought to us by FanDuel. The NFL season is here. FanDuel is making sure you’re ready for a kickoff with a can’t miss offer right now. New customers can bet just $5 and if that $5 bet wins, you get $300 in bonus bets to use across the app. So if you’re ready to play, download the FanDuel app now by visiting FanDuel.com/UCSS to get started. That is FanDuel.com/UCSS to place your 1st $5 bet. We got Mary Kay Cabot joining us in about 15 minutes. We have a Didi coming on right after Mary Kay. So before we get to them, we have to address the report that came out this weekend that we got tagged in, and I’m not kidding, no fewer than 300 times. It may be the most tagged report that the UCSS account has ever been tagged in, and I think we’re gonna kind of make fun of the report because it’s quite frankly, a little silly. But it’s worth discussing for a second. Diana Rossini of the Athletic put out a report this weekend that she said Cleveland believes in Joe Flacco’s experience and Dylan Gabriel’s ability to back him up. Andrew Barry still thinks there’s a place for Shido on this roster, but his chances of seeing regular season action in 2025 are unlikely. You could see on the left there in the picture, and I’ll read you the full quote. Unless things get really weird. So this is what the actual snippet from the article said. Then I got a question for you. Diana Rossini wrote, for all the football conspiracy theorists out there, they’re trying to decode the real reason the Brown strategistor Sanders. Here’s the truth. There is no big secret. The pick wasn’t some master plan from ownership. It was GM Andrew Barry’s call rooted in his belief that Cleveland’s coaching staff could bring out the best in Sanders and help him grow into an NFL quarterback. It will be a process, and the Browns want to keep developing him. She goes on to say, however, don’t plan on seeing the 5th round rookie on the field this season unless things get really weird. Cleveland believes in Joe Flacco’s experience and Dylan Gabriel’s development as a backup. So first and foremost, guys. When is the Cleveland season ever not — gotten
— really
— weird? Yeah, I mean, what does that mean? I don’t know. Does that mean Flacco and get like we know, we already know he’s the 3rd quarterback. So what, nothing weird has to happen. The first two quarterbacks got to get hurt or be terrible, and then he’ll get a chance. — That’s what
— she means, I think, yeah, so, but who didn’t know that already. I think we all knew that. Yeah, I don’t know I don’t know. I don’t know why that’s a news story because it makes, I mean, — she’s the
— first person to put it in print where she says he’s not playing this year. But he’s gonna play this year, I assume because I don’t think these guys are gonna make it through the season. Joe Flacco, no, no way he’s gonna make it more than 4 or 5 weeks. It seems very unlikely. Well, I mean, but according to her report, it sounds like Gabriel’s gonna come in. You think Gabriel’s gonna get hurt? I don’t know, but like that’s been the track record. I mean, you know, quarterbacks get hurt. The Browns have used at least 3 quarterbacks. How often? Almost every year. Every year we’ve been doing a show at a minimum. — I can’t speak for
— and if if Dylan Gabriel gets the second opportunity, he stays healthy and he plays well, then he should keep playing. If he doesn’t play well, at some point they’ll turn the page. The only thing is, yes, what you’re saying is 100% right. I think that also, you know. The owner has come out and said that he will play at some point this season, so maybe it’s like a Joe Mixon thing it’s the last week of the season or something like that. Milton, yeah, Joe Milton, what did I say? I think you said Joe Mix. Did I say Mer Milton. Thank you. I appreciate that. Anyways, no, but Shado, Shado just gotta continue to grind, you know, right now he’s quarterback 3, so that means he’s probably. Handling scout team responsibility, him and Bailey Zay is probably splitting time on the scout team right now and he’s trying to get better in that aspect as far as being able to see it, get the ball out quick and make the throws. But yeah, I mean, it’s obvious that Dillon Gabriel is gonna get the action if once Joe Flacco goes down, but I, I would not rule out seeing. For for like the last game, maybe the week or two. Who told you that? Who, who told you, Mr. Rossini, who told you that that he’s not gonna see the field this year. I’m gonna tell you what it is. I’ll give you honest to goodness truthful. See what you happen, you missed on the overflow. The Shaor overflow is now gone because he’s sitting on the bench right now. You, you should have ran this conspiracy theorist article about 3 months ago. You would have been hitting. You’d have been popping. You could have pushed back and said, I, I’m gonna make a bold prediction. He ain’t gonna see the field and everybody went crazy, right? So here’s what it is. Come on, man. I, I always tell people like this, man. I had to learn, as Tyvis said, I wasn’t always part of the media, but I do understand the game as being a seasoned veteran now. You see what happens is when you say the word weird, like you said, what does that even mean? It’s ambiguous, it’s slightly inflammatory, right? You know, call people conspiracy theorists like it’s just like it ain’t too crazy, it’s a little little jab, but what happens is it gets people riled up, it brings stirs people. up a little bit. So now when you say weird people hold on to it and now all of a sudden they get a little traction and they keep moving. The problem is this, at the end of the day, I’ve always said it, you don’t have to mention Shado Sanders’ name if the article was about Dillon Gabriel and Flacco. If Flacco is great and they love it. Put the article and say, you know what, Joe Flac, the Browns are really confident in Flacco and Dylan Gabriel. Leave it at that. Put it out there. Or the Browns, here, here’s the headline. Dylan and Gabriel is waiting in the wings and the Browns are excited. That’s not gonna get no click. There you go. — That an article came out
— today. Why do you think we’re talking about it. I saw an article that that popped up on my phone talking about Shadora Sanders getting traded to some NFC team. Like I’m like, — where did that come from because
— that don’t, that’s not interesting. People don’t wanna see it. And here’s the thing, bro, at this point I’ve always say, hey, if he’s a 5th round pick, he ain’t no good and you don’t think he can play. Then there’s no reason to even talk about the 3rd round quarterback and he’s gonna play this year, but you know, you know exactly why you wrote the article because it’s, it, it, it’s, it’s, it’s, it’s, it’s, uh, it’s, it’s chilling season right now cause right now. Joe Flacco is, you know, he’s a veteran. He played pretty decent. He didn’t play crazy, he didn’t play bad. So you need in this industry, you need either a hot take or you need uh something that’s on the opposite of it where it’s just like either Joe Flacco needs to sit down or Joe Flacco is the greatest thing in the world. Anything medium, nobody’s paying attention to that. That uh it’s a lot of people checked out right now that they’re not gonna watch or they, they’re not gonna get involved unless you do what Sanders is playing. People, a lot of people won’t get interested or excited unless Dillon Gabriel or one of the rookies play. It’s an opportunity to, to try to, hey, let’s, let’s start some, you know, let’s get a little conversation going. Here we go. I think it’s kind of meaningless, but uh. Whatever. I just found the phrasing unless you’re right, you don’t in a good way. It’s bad. I don’t know like why would she say that? I don’t know. It’s it’s like it’s like saying Dustin Fox and Adam the bull will never do another — radio show and stuff
— gets weird saying it would be unexpected for him to play. — So why did you just say
— that? Call her and ask her, man. You guys are dwelling upon a freaking word. Well, that’s it. We’re, I’m annoyed because we’re talking about this just to get clicks. That’s what we’re doing. — I told
— you on Saturday and I don’t like doing and I don’t, I have never done anything in my career just to get clicks. You know, and I don’t like to do that. I, I often in the media we’re accused of just getting, doing things for getting clicks, media members and that’s kind of what we’re doing right now. — So I
— mean we’re discussing yes it’s worth talking about because she brought it up, but is, am I, am I, am I going crazy like the woman is. Oh my gosh, — I guess
— she’s fine. It’s not a big deal. It’s just it’s a nothing burger. It’s like, OK, cool. Like, I don’t think it’s weird. You know what I think is weird? I think it’s weird that we worry more about that than the kicker. We we lost a total football game because of a kicker.
The latest report surrounding Shedeur Sanders has sparked plenty of conversation in Cleveland, and it’s not the type of buzz many Browns fans were expecting. According to what’s being said, Sanders won’t see the field this season unless things get “really weird” in Berea. That’s a bold statement when you consider the excitement that came with drafting him, but it also shows how the organization is approaching his development in Year One.
From the Browns’ perspective, this makes sense. Throwing a rookie quarterback into the fire before he’s ready can do more harm than good, especially when you’ve got veterans like Joe Flacco and Kenny Pickett in the room. Sanders has talent, poise, and leadership, but he’s still adjusting to the speed of the NFL game. Protecting him while he learns the offense, gets stronger, and studies defenses might be the best way to ensure he’s successful when his time does come.
For the fanbase, though, it’s a mixed bag. Some will understand the long-term approach, while others are itching to see Sanders bring energy to the field right away. Cleveland hasn’t exactly had stability at quarterback in recent years, so the temptation is always there to push the future into the present. But if the Browns stick to this plan, it means they’re serious about grooming Shedeur the right way — and that could pay off in a big way down the line.
The Sanders fascination makes sense given his father, Deion Sanders, his success at Jackson State and Colorado, his perceived NFL draft stock and fall, as well as his stellar play in the first preseason game. It has gone over the top at times, but Sanders has handled himself well throughout his first taste of pro experience.
According to a report from Diana Russini, Sanders fans will have to wait a long while until they see him on the field in an NFL game:
However, don’t plan on seeing the fifth-round rookie on the field this season unless things get really weird. Cleveland believes in Joe Flacco’s experience and Dillon Gabriel’s development as the backup.
Russini does share that the rumors she is hearing are that the selection of Sanders was rooted in Cleveland GM Andrew Berry’s belief that HC Kevin Stefanski and the coaching staff can “bring out the best in Sanders and help him grow into an NFL quarterback. It is noted that the Browns want to keep developing the young quarterback, but, as noted above, that development may not include time on the field this year. | https://sports.yahoo.com/article/rumor-browns-plans-shedeur-sanders-113943135.html

Shadeur Scammers
😂 😅😅😅😅😅 really the browns is and always been the butt of the NFL graveyard for QB JOE WON'T LAST THE WHOLE SEASON DG TO SHORT HE ANOTHER WON'T LAST. SHEDEUR SANDERS WILL PLAY THIS SEASON HE WILL PLAY THIS SEASON LEGENDARY
It been weird
How is he getting developed sitting and barely practicing? 😂😂😂
The Black community, including Cam & and Mase, is boycotting. F yall LOSERS. And to keep using that picture shows how yall feel.. Dweebs.
GBush I’ll holla at you later.
Ahaha it’s sad that boy Bryce young wayyyy better than Gabriel but yeah let’s believe “Gabriel’s gonna look good out there” foh 😂😂😂
I swear i hope the browns get smoked Sunday
Bull please shave. Can you try to lose weight😢😢😢
Your organization is using Shedeur has a cash cow, trade him to Miami or Detroit as a good back up stop using him has a CASH COW!!!!
Cleveland will be an irrelevant organization that's why they holding on to him they are destroying him.
No QB is ever buried in CLE. Everyone of them will get a chance
Yeah everyone knows he should had picked Shedeur second pick but they traded it. They got Pickett and Flacco.. can’t stand the browns only here for Shedeur..
Shedeur is not the greatest qb to ever play. Can't you just be grateful ab gave him a shot. He's on the roster. He made it through training camp. Let the kid develop. He could be good. Quit playing the victim.
If Flacco goes down sheduer and Dillion going to be best of buddies bc it’s going to be there team watch
Good for him, who wants to lead a team that will lose 80% of their games??
Yall need more engagement because yall views are low us you use Shedeur as click bait
At this point, they're holding Sheduer hostage
You guys have the worse receivers in the league, Judy leads the league in drops every year and you guys talk about him like he’s megatron. A old offensive line, 2 rookie running backs, I’m glad he’s not gonna play this year. Let him develop learn the playbook and hopefully get traded or waivers by you guys and go to another organization, I rather he goes to a team practice squad than be you guys starting QB
Can ward the number 1 pick got sacked 6 times and 2 of the times he got his team put out of FG range and not 1 story about it 😂shadeur gets sacked with 5 th string lineman and get beached for a season
#12’s rise as an NFL quarterback was bound to happen— a rigged preseason game wouldn’t have altered that. However, the NFL and the Browns undermined his draft value (colluded), questioning his merit as a first-round pick when his stats and eye test says otherwise. Players in the league and the Browns Lockeroom recognize this, just like any fair-minded person. “Sure, the Browns gave him a shot,” but it was intentionally his only shot. Everyone sees what happened, and people are outraged with the NFL.
The worst thing that could have happened to Shedeur is Cleveland Browns..allegedly and imo. He would have been better off ungrateful. imo..
Why is there a Bengals fan on a Cleveland show? Find a replacement for him
You can say that about every 3rd string qb in the league….
There is a very easy “brownsian” path to Sanders…. Flacco hurt, Gabriel looks lost for several games and is inept, we end up at Sanders for at least a few games.
Correct Shedeur won't play, and the Browns will lose. Nothing new!
They need to put Shedeur in for the Ravens game. Put it to rest. See how ready he is.
This is why only God knows how HAPPY I am the Browns LOST. And will continue to LOSE.
Kevin “the no good snake “ Stink-fanski, will NOT be successful until he does right by Shedeur Sanders! 💯🔥✊🏿
Just be quiet Tyvis smh! 👎🏿
G-Bush, school them lames you work with 💯🔥✊🏿
Shedeur will make Brown relevant for years Sunday night football Monday night football 🏈 special without him I am tuning out on all things browns because of the treatment he has received
Why the hell is a Bengals Homer on a Cleveland sports show .talk about browns 0 chance of winning .at least they have 4 nfl championship trophies Bengals trophies case still empty
Flacco and Gabriel will be through in the next 6 games
Stefanski has to lose game's this s we season Browns fan's, if he wants his first round draft pick next season, watch, shedeur is a hostage
Cleveland Browns…..and the NFL…..suck!!!!!
Stefanski, and the league are trying to blow out shedeurs flame 🔥 and it's dysfunctional
If Flacco and Gabriel are injured will Sanders get a chance or will they put Zappe in?
The Browns are straight DUMB!!!!
If Shedeur was a good.. not great QB then he would have beaten out Flacco and Gabriel, period. I want Shedeur to succeed but it doesn't look good
smh 5 bad snaps with the 3s and 4s created the doubt that the Cleveland needed to quiet the QB room and the media-it’s all strategy
