“I Don’t Blame Him” – Jets Fan Rich Eisen on Aaron Rodgers’ Gloating after His 4-TD Steelers Debut

Listen, listen. We had the actor Dylan O’Brien here last week. Jet fan. He knew it. He said Jets are going to lose week one and Rogers is going to be smiling. It’s going to be tough to to take that smile. Guess what? Rogers left the field smiling and uh a little bit of trolling. Little bit of trolling here, coach. But guess what? I don’t blame him. Aaron Rogers went into Metife on Sunday and won the game with his arm and with his neck up ability. And we were all wondering, is he going to be able to handle the heat? Is he going to be able to handle the sacking that might come his way? Is he going to get out of the way, pass rush this, pass rush that? Is he going to be able with a, you know, his 41-year-old body be able to do it? The answer is yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. all of it. He has every reason to feel great today. Four touchdowns, zero interceptions, a passer rating 136.7. His four passing touch. How’s he going to do with the receivers? How many people stop you when they’re talking to you recognizing you from this program? Top five question. How’s Rogers going to do with the Steelers? Any questions? I got a lot of Steeler friends, so I So you got Yeah. I mean, I get that non-stop. We’re not going to apologize for winning. What’s he going to do in Pittsburgh? How’s it going to work? Well, I mean, we’re we we obviously have way more runway left here. But his four passing touchdowns, um, he he became the first quarterback in Steelers history to have four passing touchdowns in his debut for the team. Ever. Last quarterback to have four touchdown passes in a game for the Steelers. Want to guess? You know the answer. His name’s Big Ben. Last time Rogers had four touchdown passes in a game period was when he beat the Bears. That’s a shocker. In 2021, his last MVP season, he hasn’t done it in four years. That’s how he’s going to do it. And of course, that pass rating is higher than any pass rating he had with the Jets. He found Calvin Austin, Jaylen Warren, Ben Scorronic, and John Smith for his touchdowns. Okay. So, have your head on a swivel. And I think, wait a minute. Were any of them handpicked by him to join the team? Well, nope. I I No. Again, I point this out to say that everybody thought he wouldn’t be able to play within the Steelers world because it’s his world. There’s only one world and it’s his. Now, will we have a story mid-season about him and Arthur Smith gear grinding? Maybe. That’s a conversation. Roger’s not going to be able to do it in the Steelers way because it’s only his way. You got to give it up, man. You got to give it up. Eight of 10 for 71 yards and three passing touchdowns off of play action. And this is when he was taking sacks, too. Unreal. Kudos to him. And so, of course, you know, he was going to spike the football in his own understated pick up, you know, keep your ears open because you might pick up a few things style of talking with the media afterwards. Hit it. I love beating everybody. So, it doesn’t matter who it is. I really only played 18 games here. So, I was actually talking to Bree about that pregame. He said, “How’s it feel?” I said, “Honestly, it’s I was here for 2 years, but it doesn’t it would it doesn’t come close to how it’s going to feel playing Green Bay because that was, you know, 18 years of my career. So, it was nice to win, especially, you know, hearing some of the cat calls out there. Um, and the Boobirds, you know, I don’t I’m not sensitive about that. I expected that, you know, I kind of like that.” But um there were probably people in the organization uh didn’t think I could play anymore. So it was nice to remind those people that I still can. First of all, Jets fans who were booing this guy. What? Cuz his Achilles wasn’t strong enough. And then after that, after that, you know, I think there were other things to boo him about. Well, that that that but we could remove that back page of the post. So now he can play. I mean that’s Oh, that is great. Oh, so like what? He wasn’t trying his best for the Jets. Is that what they were saying? He was he wasn’t he wasn’t performing to the best of his ability. He was He was garbage. He brought in all his friends and his coaching buddies and then listen, he goes somewhere else and tortures him. Well, he goes somewhere else. How are they supposed to feel? He’s definitely more healthy than he was with the Jets. I bet you at any point in time, the Steelers aren’t going to fire Tomlin. The front office is not going to be changed and the owners are going to stay out of the mix. Yep. And Rogers isn’t being asked to be the savior. Just show up. If the defense can’t stop Justin Fields, we’ll talk about him in a second. Then try and win a game for us, Aaron. And put it on the foot of our what did Tommen call Chris Boswell? Serial killer carry 60 yard field goal. Man, I would love to have seen a GoPro on Larry David when a field goal won it from 60 yards like a jumping frog. He wants the goal post removed to beat the Jets. But still, the Jets had a chance to win it and and and you know couldn’t get it done. Um, but this is about the Steelers for the moment. And Rogers did take one, you know, one last little jab at the uh the New York Jets. You spoke about the meeting with Aaron Glenn on McAfee a few months ago, beating him. Is there significance in that since he basically told you to your face that that he didn’t think you were right for that team? Yes, that’s what he did. So, there’s significance in beating him for you. I was happy to beat everybody associated with the Jets. Listen, you can’t blame Aaron Glenn either for telling Rogers last two years wasn’t up to what anybody around here wanted. We need a fresh, clean start around here. I I don’t have a problem with Aaron Glenn saying that to Aaron Rogers. The way in which he have communicated it, the way that Rogers says that they communicated it where they could have basically facetime with him or they just said, “Hey, we wanted to do it face to face. Come on out here and said, listen, that this is now history.” But you can’t blame the the um the Jets for wanting to move on. Congratulations to Rogers. He showed up and he showed out. Now comes Seattle. DK is going to have his run against his former team there. And um as as Rogers pointed out, he’s he’s got Green Bay on his schedule and the Bears. He’s going through the AFC North and the the u the um AFC East as well and the NFC North. Must see television, every single one. And certainly if Rogers are going to show up like he could throw four touchdowns without a pick, I mean, you just assume the defense has got to be better. I mean, the Steelers have have got a a fun mustsea schedule down the road in every single way. Big W for them. Hey, you made it all the way to the end. Thanks for that. 1. It's hard being a Jets fan because he actually had a good season but the defense was trash and he really didn't step up until the latter part of the season when it really mattered. However this defense is not good it might be okay and with avt out our line will be hurting. I mean it's just a shame that we discarded him the way that we did I mean do I like Justin Fields he's okay he brings a little bit different energy to the team but we still have no number two our secondary is crap or linebackers are crap the only thing that we got going towards on the defense is the line.

  2. "So now he can play!" LMAO! He wasn't asked to take the team from 0 to 100. Steeler's Defense looked awful; special teams saved the day for us once again. Rodgers did a good job.

  3. Glad Rodgers got the win over the Jets. I just wish it was in a more dominant fashion, but that has nothing to do with Rodger, because Fields played great and the Steelers defense I believe were over confident and doing too much over running plays. I think the defense will settle down next game and dig in.

  4. Dude tore his Achilles. There was no chance he was going to the Super Bowl the year he was coming back. Whoever was chiming in saying he was garbage, he was still better than half of the qb starters in the league last year he just wasn’t elite like they were expecting partly because he was coming back from an Achilles at 39.

  5. The one by two points because the Jets fumbled the football and because the kicker made the longest kick he ever made in his entire life literally 😂 in sports we call that sustainable 😂😂😂😂 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

  6. It is a little rich (pun intended) that these guys sit on national TV saying Rodgers is amazing because he somehow, someway, found a way to beat the worst franchise in the NFL… Lol
