Just glance at posted starting lineups today and no Volpe.

This might be a righty/lefty decision since Detroit is starting Jack Flaherty and Volpe is slashing .183/.245/.378 with a wRC+ of just 70 vs righties this year.

    For those who didn’t see/hear Talkin Yanks yesterday, Boone had this planned and announced. So it wasn’t a result of his play yesterday, specifically.

  5. I’m not a person who wants Anthony off this team, but he needs a break. I’d like to see Cabs play 3-4 games

  6. Boone said he’d sit Volpe one game this series. Cabby could probably go 4-4, hit a home run, steal 3 bases, and save the game in the 9th with a crazy play and he’d still be on the bench tomorrow.

  8. Not surprising. If you listened closely to what Boone said yesterday, he didn’t exactly give him a ringing endorsement. I think Caballero will gets starts at short here and there for now and maybe in the postseason he steals the job

  9. Yeah but what’s he slashing against lefties? This isn’t (shouldn’t be) a platoon decision.

  12. Cabby should have stolen his job months ago. He does everything better than Volpe at every aspect of the game. 

  14. Guy needs either a break or be sent to the minors to work things out. He’s looked brutal for almost 2 months and is only hurting the team.
