St Louis Cardinals vs Seattle Mariners (09-09-25) MLB Game Predictions, Picks and Best Bets

[Music] 929 930 Matthew Liberatory and the Cardinals at plus 174. George Kirby and the Mariners at minus 200 total 7 and a half juice to the over at minus 115. Well, here we go. Corby again. These two teams I I know that every game matters to the Mariners right now and that gives them advantage every day in my opinion. They need to keep winning. It’s close out there in the American League wild card. They have the pitching advantage. Clearly, George Kirby is exponentially better than Matthew Liberator. Their bullpen’s better. Their lineup is better. So, why the hell am I afraid to bet the Mariners at minus 200? Because on paper, they should, in my view, they should probably be more like – 250, – 275. This is sitting at minus 200. What do you think here, Mariners Cardinals? Yeah, for a while, and again, I I don’t keep up with records, so actually, let me look this up so I don’t sound silly. Um what is the Cardinals record? Oh yeah, basically break even for a minute there. They were they were fighting to be one of the better teams in the league and and they’ve kind of dropped off. So it’s crazy to see this number and and it makes sense like why in your head you wouldn’t want to fade a Cardinals team who has a lot of good pieces and looked good for 80% of the year, but inevitably this team has fallen off. And I think expected batting average numbers kind of showed that that was going to happen. Their best batter for quite some time was Alec Berles. B. Yeah, Berles. There we go. Um, and then you look at this Mariners team. Base winner’s talked about it for months. I’ll pat base winner on the back uh from through the internet. And he’s talked about this Mariners offense for for quite some time. Um, and and it makes a lot of sense. Like they have a few spots where the expected batting average is low, but um it just feels like they’ve been undervalued for for even even being a team that’s like on the borderline playoffs, like probably plenty of talent to be in the playoffs still feels undervalued. So to see one team just crashing and burning to the ground and another team um still fighting for the playoff hope. Two to one is a little expensive but uh it makes sense and situationally I could understand why you’d want to lay the the big favorite here. Yeah. And I don’t know BDub is it is this price short? I’m curious with the base model things here because I look at this and I go, “Holy moly, there’s a lot of advantages here. I might have this price just off the top of my head a little bit higher.” What do you think here? Mariners Cardinals Kyle. I have it. This is interesting because usually I I let the model guide me. I’ve spent, you know, half of my adult life making the model, but I’m I’m not playing against it, but I’m I’m looking at this number and it’s right about where the market is. I have it minus 207. Uh but, you know, if you look at uh the li the Liberator, Liberator, uh not much to like about him other than it’s his his name reminds me of a of a really good piece of of furniture called the Liberator. And if you haven’t used it, look it up. But uh then yeah, it’s it’s a it’s a yeah, furniture. Yeah, exactly. Furnishing, if you will. Yeah, exactly. Uh and so and then so but but Corby mentioned it and and I appreciate the pat on the back. Uh Corby, I always pat you on the back. You’re the smartest man in the universe. Uh but number two, so I have the number one offense with the Yankees today and I’m going to do the the number two offense or the two offense. Oh. Uh, okay. He’s not being monitored at all. Right. So, Kev, they’ve just let Kevin have full just whatever. My lord, something happened. So, okay. So, you know, and and and uh the Cardinals offense, they get Contrarus back. You know, I didn’t I didn’t really that was one of what was driving the ratings. I was like, guys, this Cardinal seems bad. Well, Contrarus goes back into the lineups. I don’t think it’s going to help him that much. you know, Kyle, he got ejected for arguing a a strike ball strike call uh uh August 25th, I guess, and he threw the bat in the direction of the umpire. So, I I think that we all I think that shows us we all want this automated strike zone. The players the players really do. But, uh yeah, I mean, Kirby Kirby’s got some decent metrics. 73rd percentile location plus. I like that. Uh and then a 23 BBK. That’s pretty darn good, too. So, uh, Seattle second leg of the base winner parlay. And when it hits, Kyle, plus 148 today, I’ll take it. Love that. Uh, looks really, really good there. For purposes of the show, we’re going to lock in the second leg of the base parlor. We’ve got the Yankees on the money line and we’ve got the Mariners on the money line.
