Royals vs. Guardians Game Highlights (9/10/25) | MLB Highlights

Been a beautiful night for baseball here at the ballpark in downtown Cleveland as the Guardians and the Royals continue this four game series. Cleveland has ripped off five in a row still with a shot to make the playoffs as a wild card team if they just continue to take care of business. Unfortunately, for Kansas City, they have put themselves now in a position where they are getting very desperate. Logan Allen on the hill tonight for Cleveland, the left tander 6 ft 190 and Logan Allen now pitching at age 27 and Michael garcia steps to the plate to lead off tonight’s ball game chopped out to short and Roo had to play it flat footed and didn’t get a very good throw off and Mike will be on to begin the game. He had to stay back on that ball. He didn’t charge it. So Then he was trying to hurry his throw and quicken it up and he bobbled it and you know, he throws it away and Garcia is credited with an infield hits Bobby Witt junior and he cuts and misses struck him out on a good changeup. So Bobby Witt junior retired for out number one and here’s Vinny Patino and he hits it to the left side and gets it through and will stop at second base and lo and behold, the Royals have a runner in scoring position in the first inning. Salvador Perez steps to the plate runners on 1st and 2nd one out and he breaks his bat pops it up foul behind the plate. Easy play Naylor two down. Now, jonathan India to the plate , the Royals have not scored since the top of the ninth inning on Monday through the middle and that’s off of Siemans glove, but a run will still score. Michael garcia comes around from second base. So India puts the ball in play with two outs and the Royals take a 10 lead. Third base coach Vance wilson, nice job. He held garcia coming around third base initially and Then when he couldn’t secure the ball watch this, Garcia is going to slow down, kicked it in good job. They need that run. That’s a real nice at bat. And jonathan Bolan who has been a starter all of his life has been a full time reliever this year for the first time and he’s the opener in his first three big league appearances. Two of those were starts to left field can’t get there. He’ll play on a hop and hold to a leadoff single against the start tonight as the DH and Valero looks at a fastball it’s outside ball four and here you go. First two aboard as Jose ramirez steps in, he’s been red hot this month. Slider popped up shallow right field, Jack Cag Leone Drips in, he’s underneath it and he makes the catch both baserunners stay put one in the bottom of the first and that brings up kyle Manzo got a good jump. Salvi’s throw is going to be a little bit late and behind him, Valera steals second. Matt Quiros challenging from the first base dugout after the ruling on the field is overturned. The runner is out. Kansas City will retain its. That’s it. That is huge. So two down Valera now the runner at second swung on, hit, hit deep to right. Kyle Manzo with a majestic bomb to right down on the count didn’t matter. He got a hanger and he destroyed it. Talk about finding the Nitro zone. Cleveland takes a 2 to 1 lead here in the first. What a response. Here’s Bobby with Junior struck out his first time and now Bobby goes the other way. He is one for two. So that’s hit number four off Logan Allen has now been will stand in, he singled to the opposite field in the first inning. There he goes, the pitch is down and Naylor doesn’t even throw 35 and that snaps a Royals record. The Royals have gone 17 games without a stolen base. That was a franchise record. So the tying run now scoring position and there’s a base hit into right field. Here comes junior around third. The throw from Kafa is cut off and Vinny gets his 1/100 RB I and ties the game for the Royals in the third inning. Nice round number. Congratulations Vinny. Really nice clean Chris Pitt off the lefty Mo and works two innings and now he’s for the night now it is lefty reliever on Serpa. He’ll get the top of the order. A bunt single by Steven Kwan, who’s two for two tonight, that’s as good a bunt as you will see. And now George Valera to the plate and now back to and he lobs it to Junior who still turns the double play. So he made that very difficult on Bobby Wood Junior fortunately made a really good athletic play to finish the double play. Sure enough, the ball took him to the left field side of the bag. Watches he’s off balance, but he used his weight there and threw a rocket across the diamond and this is really athletic. So Sara gives up the two on one that will bring up kyle Manzo. There’s a diving play by Vinny and he’s going to take it to the bag. So there was a lot going on defensively in that inning and when it’s all said and done, it is a scoreless bottom of the third for Cleveland and a 2 to 2 tie. Sam Long is pitcher number three on the night. He inherits a runner at second base, a speedy runner in Angel Martinez with two down and Brian Rochel switching it about right handed down low ball four. He walked him so a couple of walks in the inning and the Guardians have two men aboard for their number nine hitter Bo Naylor line drive in a base hit right field third Martinez racing home with the go ahead run. He is safe down. The third goes rogue. 32 Cleveland on an 02 pitch. Naylor delivers the go ahead single with two outs in the fourth inning. Usually you try to bury that pitch down and away with two strikes to see if he’s going to chase it. He left it up and he got beat with it. You can see why he’s had so many base runners on base after a situation like that. Another one out single for Bobby Woo Jr. And that brings up the 100 RB I man himself in Vinny Pasquin swung on. There’s a chopper to third up with it. Ramirez shovels to the back for one. The first double play pitchers best run right that double play , 64, three. Now tim her appearance number 47 5 wins of 4, 62. Er A so the tie run is aboard with one out Tyler Tolbert who can flat out fly is going to run for Jack Cagle on at first and the right handed hitting Nick Lofton is going to bat for Kyle is there. He goes first movement. The pitch is high and Naylor’s throw is late Tyler Tolbert steals his 18th base of the year. He’s in scoring position. Now, a base hit can tie the ball game and he’s going to line it into left field one hop to quad Vance wilson is going to wave him home. Here’s the throw, it is up the line run scores and now the throw down his second gets away into center field as long is moving up on the throw home and nick will go to third base. So the Royals T 33 and they have a man at third with only one out. What a time for your second hit as a pinch hitter all season, nick Lofton comes off the bench. Mac Quatraro gives him the platoon advantage. Tyler Tolbert steals second. That could not have worked any more perfectly for matt Quatraro and the Royals, Tim Harron’s night is over. Well, a hunter Gattis put into a tough spot three, three game. Nick Lofton with a pinch hit RB I single to tie it up is now at third with one out top of the order and Michael Garcia blasted to left field. Quad is going to play it off the wall on a bounce. Garcia commits to second base and that throw is off line by Steven and the Royals take the lead and have a runner in scoring position. A liner off the fence in left field over the head of Stephen Kwan and garcia drives in his 68th run of the year with his 36th double 43 KC. As Lo comes home, Salvador Perez leads off the eighth. Jacob Jus delivers slider hit high in the air deep down the left field line. Juan’s over into the corner. He looks up, that ball is gone a fair ball. No, it’s ruled foul and of course, will take another look. Salvi didn’t protest it at all. Salvador Perez is already back in the batter’s box. He’s talking Naylor. Those two guys have the best view right down the line. I wonder what Naylor view of the , of a foul ball. So it’s a crew chief. Review. The rule on the field was a foul ball getting a look at the replay on the video board. The ball clearly disappears behind the foul pole on the angle. Really coming from the third base side a little bit. Here’s Dan Bellino. After review, the ruling on the field is confirmed. It is a foul ball confirmed. I’ll be honest to you. I am stunned. He hit that one at 200. That’s clearly foul foul. We will watch a video review. Now they’re all waiting in that section for the next pitch. The dugout he’s getting earlier and earlier, they’re saying those guys are laughing at his own teammates. Junius is ready. He delivers again, Salvi floats it to third. A one Hopper Ramirez knocks it down with the heel of his glove. Picks it up, throws Lowe to first Manzo stretches for the out and Salvi’s retired on the 12th pitch of his battle with Jacob Junius. And well, three pitches ago really looked like he hit a home run and on the pitch is a really good closer. You don’t hear enough about carlos Estévez 4 to 3 Royals. Estévez 38 saves two up two down for carlos Estévez one out to get and Stephen Kwan steps to the plate and juan slaps it to left field. Is there a 43 win over the Guardians tonight? Just enough offense and a tremendous bullpen effort from the Royals to snap a three game slide and take game three of this four game series.

  1. What a terrible game by the Guardians.
The erratic, inconsistent offense is at again combined with the lousy bullpen and one too many defense errant throws by C Bo Naylor and LF Steven Kwan. SMH. Cleveland did not deserve to win tonight. 🤨🙁
