Detroit Tigers vs New York Yankees (09-09-25) MLB Game Predictions, Picks and Best Bets

Some juice to the under at minus 115. Bdub. I didn’t have that on my bingo card. Young Corbyt anti do I mean I’m anti I hate going to the doctor too but you got to have the insurance in case something happens you know you you got to have I mean it gets very expensive I mean I don’t pay my medical bills when I didn’t have insurance you just ignore them until the end of time obviously that’s I mean that’s what every that’s what normal people do but he needs health insurance and what are we doing here Yankees Tigers beat up I think he’s just rolling it’s a calculated risk by his you know he’s the smartest guy in the world so I think that there’s probably a good calculated risk there I think he’ll be okay I you He’s a healthy man, right? So, this game, Kyle, is I have it priced in the It’s an interesting play for me because I have it priced in the model about where the market is at minus 143. But I I decided to make the Yankees the first leg of the bass winner parlay. And it’s not just my because of my affinity for Warren G, although that might might have come into it a little bit. It’s because of this this disparity in this bullpen. And I think that these games late uh in the season, you’ve got to have a damn good bullpen and the and that would would fall with the Yankees. They have a damn good bullpen. And the Tigers bullpen is really concerning. They’re 25th in baseball. And I just kind of wanted to touch on this. I I I kind of want to don’t want to talk too long because I I talked I think for 20 minutes about the Dodgers Rockies yesterday before you cut me off at the end of the show. But today, uh, you you look at this bullpen and their closer is Will Vest and he’s 24% better than average, but they have eight guys below Will Vest and and keep in mind that Finnegan’s hurt, so he doesn’t weigh into this yet, but Finnegan’s only 8% better than average, but they got Mont Raphael Montero, Keer Monttero. They have two Monteros back there, Kyle. Uh, Melton, Holton, Conlay, Hannah, Horn, and Paddock that are all by my numbers worse than average. And that’s really concerning for for a team that’s going to try to make a playoff run. I don’t know how they’re going to do it with that bullpen. And then if you look at the Yankees bullpen, Benner, Weaver, Cruz, all 57, 88, 56, Devin Williams 58 base winner number. Deval better than average. Lighter Yarro, they’re all better than average. So you got this really deep bullpen with the Yankees. And I I just think for me it’s like, okay, well the model doesn’t really show that much value, but uh I might just ride this Yankees team. Uh all they they’re showing value uh in the to win the division market by my sims. They’re showing value to get the number one seed in my sims. Uh I might just ride this team uh you know and see how it how it works out, Kyle. But first leg of the base winner parlay for me uh Yankees today. Yeah, Corby, it makes sense to me. I guess my one concern would be backing Will Warren. He’s really inconsistent. You know, Will Warren can go out there and get you eight strikeouts in in five innings, or he can go out and walk four guys, be really inefficient, and be at 65 pitches after two innings, and give up six runs. So, that would be the concern here. I’d still say advantage Yankees. What do you think? Tigers, Yankees, Cory? Yeah, the Yankees offense is um as base talks about I think it’s not a surprise that they like post well in in metrics, but they post very well. I I think people would be surprised how well they do post. Um I still think Juan Carlos Yan Carlos Stanton, however you say his name, Carlo Carlo, no Juan Carlo, but I like I like Carlo. Uh Carlo, I think that he is the liability in that lineup. Um I mean that swing just drives me nuts. I it’s rough. Um, I had an over the other day, bases loaded, and I was very aware that on a zero zero count, he would be hitting into a double play, and inevitably he hit into a double play. So, um, I would say there’s there are weaknesses, of course, but this lineup is is ridiculous. Will Warren, I’ve talked about this all year. I I still have his stuff graded out as good. Every single metric has told me don’t, but, um, I still do. So, agree. Listen, the only time I’m watching Pirates games or Pirates Only time watching Tigers games is when Scubble’s on the mound. I am sweating a Scooble to be the league leader in strikeouts. Not as fun as Kenny’s last year, but eight to one. And after last night, Scoob is in second place. So, um I’m going to be sweating this one. I think this is crochets to win. And uh it’s unfortunate here. Yeah. Uh for purposes of the show here, a good one here. Playoff matchup, possible playoff preview here in the American League. For purposes of the show, we are locking in the first leg of the base parlay. I I think Kevin doesn’t do anything all day, but that’s a whole different point. Um, also on the on the on the talk of health insurance, I see people saying like, uh, like it’s hit or miss. It’s 50/50. Some people are like, I’ve been paying for it for years, never went. You got to remember, I stay in this exact spot all day with my two dogs. I’m not worried about getting sick. Also, I don’t even have a damn car. My car’s in the shop once a week. I literally can’t leave my house right now if I wanted to. So, if I get hurt, I deserve it. Um, but my my my over my overall point to this and I’ll wrap up the health insurance thing is one day I will be married and when I am I will have health insurance because the stress and annoyance that that brings on your body makes you sick. But until then me and my dogs live sick too. There’s this and that and the third they have they’re like I don’t know like their whole biology is different. I will admit I didn’t have health insurance for a long time. I would just go to the doctor and not pay it and just completely ignore it for forever. Just just just screw that. The only I I finally got insurance like a few years back when I decided to get it was to go get my vasectomy, which we’ve talked about here on the show. I was like, I I got to make sure that I can have no risk here. I need no risk, high reward. So, I got insurance to go get the the snippy doo uh best decision I ever made. [Music] [Music]
