A follow-up episode of Pablo Torre Finds Out has come out this morning, which alleges that Dennis Wong, only other Clippers co-owner, invested $2M into Aspiration, just a few days before the second quarterly $1.75M payment to Kawhi was wired to him.

Keep general discussion civil. If you're a non-Clippers fan wanting to shit on the team without adding anything to the conversation, do that over on the main forum, plenty of that going around there. Brigaders and trolls will be banned.

  1. The entirety of the 213 era has been exhausting as a fan lmao

Lob City didn’t win shit but at least it was fun

  2. “Dennis Wong’s daughter. According to her LinkedIn bio, she was a Project Manager, Operations & Strategy — which means that, through his college roommate and partner Steve Ballmer (who had invested $50 million of his own money into Aspiration), and through Aspiration’s deal that was collapsing with the team Dennis co-owns (the Clippers), and also through his own daughter — who was witnessing the sinking of this ship firsthand — he had several very informed ways to know quite a bit about what company he was sinking $2 million into, right? As Kawhi Leonard needed to be paid $1.75 million. It’s almost like the opposite of insider trading, right? You had the scoop to not put money in.”

    Sheeeeeeeeeet

  3. Will listen to the pod later, but this is probably the first amount of evidence that kinda seems legit.

Taking a hit of copium/Hopium here. Saw people mention that Wong’s daughter was an employee there at aspiration. It’s plausible to frame it that Wong knew she was gonna get fired, called aspiration, and maybe cut a deal to keep her job safe and he made a payment.

Not sure full context, but just a thought

  4. Balmer is not that stupid 😂😂😂..At this point all you can do as Clippers fan is laugh..

  5. The clippers aren’t just cooked. They’re boiled, then deep fried, then smoked, then oven baked, then air fried, then to make sure the job is finished dumped into a volcano.

Even outside the nba stuff, balmer and Wong sound like they knew about it and participated in the fraud and could be facing legitimate legal troubles.

  6. And there it is. The final piece to the puzzle. A figure that brings the total close to the 50m investment. It’s just so blatant at this point I can’t even.

  7. Damn I spent all weekend slandering Pablo and it turns out he may have really found out. My bad Pablo I wasn’t familiar with your game.

This looks really bad! My cope is scammers tell Wong “hey your daughter’s department isn’t doing so hot, we’re close to being able to make this work but we could really use another $2 million to be comfortable.”

  8. We need to hear both or all sides of the story before we make a judgement. We still need to hear from Kawhi and Dennis Wong, and the owners of Aspiration.

  9. I wonder how much Lawrence Frank and Doc know about the meetings with Kawhi in 2019 and if all this was verbally set up then. Did Pablo mention when Ballmer invested the 50 million?
