Malaki Starks on His NFL Debut | Baltimore Ravens

What do you think collectively on the defense? I mean Josh Allen and the Bill has a great offense. That said, I mean to be on the field for 80 some plays, 41 points like what you want, but what do you take from there? Yeah, I think um like I said earlier, we got a really good team and and they’re they’re a really good team as well. One of the best teams in the league. So, um we got a really good team and guys want to play football. We got a bunch of guys who want to go play football, who want to who want to be a part of winning program. Um and I’m blessed to come to a place like this. I mean it’s I mean it’s amazing. and I can’t think of a better place to be. Anything surprise you on the field when you get out there like, “Oh, that’s okay. That’s the end. There we go.” Um, not really. I thought it would, but at the end of the day, it’s it’s football. Um, and I kind of overhyped it in my head, but uh, football’s football at the end of the day, and I got a bunch of guys around me who, uh, kept me grounded and, um, you know, I’m not out there by myself. Uh, we got a great leaders, great guys, great coaches. Um, so like I said, I’m just blessed to be here. What happened on the, uh, the almost interception there? Uh, had a good play. Yeah. Um I just it hit my hands. I got to catch it. I was in the middle of the field and um I saw him. I saw him looking him down. Um and I went I went and dove for it. Uh hit my hands and I just got to catch it. Get ready for Cleveland. What kind of stands out about their offense? Yeah, I mean uh they’re explosive. They got a they got a great group of guys. They got a great coaches. Um and I think, you know, we’re really diving in it today and tomorrow. Uh just really want to continue to grow, want to get better. Um, and I think that’s the biggest things for our group right now is just continuing to get better. Wild to be going up against a quarterback who’s 40 and still capable what he’s capable of. Um, I mean, it’s awesome. I mean, it’s the league, you know. I mean, it’s something I’m very excited for. And like I said, like I’m not that myself. I got a bunch of guys who who’ve been doing this for a long time, who know what they’re doing, um, and who want to lead. So, uh, just for me to be able to lean on them, lean on on them, um, and just kind of we’re we’re all walking this path together. So, just be able to walk it with them, I mean, it’s great. Just being in this building, have you gotten a sense of how much Flaco has meant to this organization over the years? Yeah. Uh, I mean, when you look back at it, I mean, it’s it’s nothing short of amazing. Uh, and a lot of guys have a lot of respect for him. I know I do as well. Um, so, like I said, I’m excited to go out there and compete. Malai, what’s impressed you the most about the way some of the guys in this locker room have really taken on leadership roles and accountability the last couple days with the defense in particular? Yeah, I think uh when you have a loss, it’s easy to point a finger um and easy to blame people, but you know, you start with the man in the mirror and I think a lot of guys did that in the locker room and a lot of guys uh like I said, they want to get they want to get better. They want to continue to grow. Um and I think that’s the type of team that we have and I think you know the sky’s is the limit for us. I don’t know if you would have seen it. I’m not trying to incite anything. Jerry Judy made comments. He was asked about what the challenges of the Ravens secondary and he just said nothing. Is that kind of thing bulletin board material? Do you just like I don’t give a crap what he has to say? I mean we we know what we have and that’s all that’s important. Uh like I said, we want to continue to get better. We didn’t have the outcome that we wanted last game. But that doesn’t define us and you know we got a great group. So I’m excited. I think you were you were 5 years old when Joe Joe Flacco made his debut. Do you remember growing up like watching Joe or watching him play against the Steelers? Um, I I don’t remember a lot from when I was little. I’m not going to lie to you. Um, but I mean, he’s hell of a quarterback. Um, and like I said, I’m excited. I know a bunch of guys in locker room are excited. Uh, so just just to be able to be here, um, I mean, it’s a blessing from God, so I’m excited.

  1. D play calls need to be changed this week; not getting to Allen last week let him pick the back end apart. Giving up 400 yards passing is a BIG problem and needs correction by everyone of that side of the ball. Hopefully we see that chance come Sunday at the Bank.

  2. Bro also fell down in the end zone on the Coleman tipped TD reception…..that was his man. The concern was his lack of athleticism and that showed up last week …..can’t teach it either.

  3. If you watch the play where Cook almost scores after he runs 50 yards then tackled at the 1 yard by Wiggins.. This bloke is sent on the blits, and ends being right there with cook to tackle him. Your effort is there Starks, and i love it. Keep going kid 🫡

  4. This was not just a loss. This was a systemic issue with the ravens you sound like a young football/politician. The bad part about it is there was no reason for you to have the game that you hate and nets the problem none of y’all have said that we had no reason to have this game like we did the coach didn’t say it and none of the players said it none of you have taken accountability

  5. I get it now. This is WWE. This is not football. These motherfuckers don’t have no sense of pride. No shame no embarrassment. No nothing. This is a waste of time when I found out wrestling was fake in the sense that it was not just two people having a wrestling match. It was all staged. That’s exactly what this looks like I get it now that’s exactly how I will look at football instead of it being the NFL I’ll see iit as the WWF.
