New Steelers safety JABRILL PEPPERS on Mike Tomlin relationship, playing next to Jalen Ramsey

start, you know, it’s always been a great defense here. Always been great continuity at the head coaching position. Um, great tradition. So, you know, it was a no-brainer for me. Mike was talking us about remembering you come out of Michigan and did you interact with him in that process? Oh, yeah, absolutely. What What was that like? It was awesome. Um, especially at the pro day, you know, good conversation, took pictures with my mom, you know, it just so happened that, you know, I got, you know, taken a couple slots ahead, but I think you guys made out pretty well in that draft. You guys talk about that at all, you and him? Uh, no, not yet. Not yet. I alluded to it in the, uh, in the equipment room, though. Okay. What they tell you about, uh, how they might use you, what your role might be, especially coming in mid-stream like this? Well, obviously, you know, on teams, but, you know, it’s basically on me how fast I can pick up the defense. you know, that’s just on me to be a professional, get in the get in the playbook, try to, you know, pick it up as fast as I can. So, I get out there, try to help this ball club win some football games. Jabarel, how do you think this fit is for you in this scheme? Well, I think it’s a great fit. Um, it’s just little different things than I’m used to doing. So, just got to lock in on the details, get out there a little bit more, shake the rust off, but I should be all right. Jill, I know you’re just getting here, but you know, you’re a guy who’s been very versatile in your career. You’re pairing with Jaylen Ramsey. you really lined up outside slot and free at the end of the box. How exciting is it to play a defense that’s going to have that many versatile weapons? Oh, it’s always exciting when you got a lot of guys who can do various things. But, you know, I’m I’m I’m excited to, you know, join the family, help this team in any way I can, be another versatile asset, and, you know, can’t wait to see can’t wait to see how it looks, you know, later down the year. Why do you think it ended the way it did for you in New England? It just is what it is. Sometimes, you know, you’re not good enough. You play a long time in this league, you know, you’re going to get traded or cut. So, you know, it is what it is. I’m I’m I’m happy Tomlin made the call. You know, he was a coach I definitely said I wanted to play for before I retired and uh it just happened a lot sooner than I thought, but I’m happy to be here. 1. Steelers’ defense just went nuclear, y’all. Slay, Joey Porter Jr., TJ Watt, Cam Heyward, and now Jabrill Peppers? Add in the elite cover toughness of Jalen Ramsey and the physicality of DeShon Elliott will return alongside Peppers and Thornhill—this unit is straight-up terrifying. Derrick Harmon will return! yahya black will be a FORCE in the league by week 5!(bet on it) Opposing QBs are gonna think twice before snapping the ball every play. Steelers D? Flat-out vicious

  2. We can have all this talent they gotta be utilized correctly. I.e. PQ in the last game. No Holcomb when Wilson was clearly y having a horrible game. 😢

  3. ive always wanted him straight out of college even as he went to the Giants, and now we have him. Lets do it Jabrill, time to solidify yourself.

  4. rogers, dk, ramsey, slay ,peppers. imagine if we actually get hill. this roster would be insane (it is already) but pitt is def going all out this year. i still cant believe get have DK.

  5. Getting back to old school Steelers football….hopefully the officiating will allow them to play! That bullshit call on Ramsey last Sunday leaves me with some doubt it can happen. Nevertheless,a really smart addition and lets not sleep on the receiver they just added!

  6. We are so all in this year with the acquisitions! There is no more just making the playoffs, we all expect a deep run and hopefully the SB with this elite group. I can't believe the level of talent we are assembling in a single year. The key is we are bring in high IQ guys who have performed at the highest level. Straight up Dawgs! Let's go Steelers!

  7. Talk is cheap, let’s see it, talk a good game now prove it, cam Sutton couldn’t back it up after his off field troubles, I won’t give these guys a inch until they prove themselves, Ramsey made his statement loud and clear, now it’s your turn to be a real Steeler, so let’s freaking gooo!!
