What is going on guys? Brad here for pits.com and I got a pick in this Rays versus Cubs game going down on Friday, September 12th, 2025. You will find all my plays there. Let’s get right into this one, guys. We got the Tampa Bay Rays headed into Chicago to play the Cubs. This will be game one of the series. The Tampa Bay Rays are finishing up a series against the White Socks on Thursday, whereas the Cubs are finishing up a series against the Braves. Um the Rays won game one of that series against the White Sox, lost game two. We’ll see what happens in game three. And then the Cubs lost game one, but won game two and won game three. And in that game three, they actually got a win over Chris Sale. And in that game, they were close to plus 150 underdog. So, it’s a big win there for the Cubs. You know, at this point in the season, we have to start talking about do these games matter when it comes to a playoff perspective. I mean, in this one, not really, if you ask me. You know, the Cubs, yes, they are what, five games behind the Brewers. Let me see real quick. Five and a half games behind the Brewers in that for that number one spot. I mean, let’s be real. I don’t think the Cubs are going to catch the Brewers. Um there’s it’s going to have to be Bruins are going to have to get cold as hell and then the Cubs are going to have to damn near win almost every single game. So I feel like the Cubs are pretty comfortable in that second spot. It’s not like they’re going to completely miss the playoffs or anything. And then on the other side, the Rays are probably cooked. I mean, they’re in the 10th seed in the the AL um five and a half games behind the Mariners for that six spot. So they’re damn near damn near going to need a miracle as well. They have what, four teams ahead of them. Yeah. Um, so yes, of course, these teams do still have something to play for. Of course they do. But it’s not like one of these do or die situations for these teams. I wouldn’t say either of these teams are in a must-win situ Well, the Rays are technically in a must-win situation, but I think the Rays in that clubhouse probably know that uh they’re not going to make it to the postseason. But let’s break this thing down. Looks like we got Shane Boss on the mound for the Rays and then Matthew Boyd on the mound for the Cubs. I don’t know if I want to over complicate this one too much, guys. Uh Matthew Boyd, yes, over his last five starts, he’s 1 and4 with the 462 ERA, but I mean, when you look at Matthew Boyd splits, he’s been great at Wrigley this season. He has a 216 ERA win pitching at Wrigley. And then Shane Boss on the other hand, yes, his ERA is actually much better on the road, but Shane Boss, I think it’s fair to say, has been a disappointment this season. um going into Wrigley facing this this Cubs lineup. I wouldn’t be surprised if this is another blowup game from Shane Baz where he gets hit up early and often. He’s just not a guy I want to I want to put my money on this season. Um or I I want to say because I actually kind of like Shane Boss coming into this year, but as of late um kind of since the All-Star break, I think Shyen Bos has showed his true colors. I think a lot of people were waiting for Shane Boss to be the guy that we expected him to be coming into the season. and it’s just never happened. So, it’s a Cub spot for me, guys. You know, the Rays have struggled on the road this season when it comes to a hitting perspective. Um, they’ve also struggled against lefties. They have a 231 batting average against lefties, whereas against varieties, they have a 261 batting average. Nothing’s pointing to to the to the Rays in this one. There’s there’s really nothing. Um, the Cubs have also just been so strong at Wrigley as a home or at the Cub the Cubs have been very strong at Wrigley as a whole. They have a very solid win loss record at home this season. It It’s Cubs or nothing for me, guys. So, that’s going to be my play. I’m going to be on the Chicago Cubs in this one. I appreciate you guys watching this.
