Giants Get A DOUBLE DOSE OF HORRIBLE NEWS Before Week 2 vs. Dallas Cowboys

I’m pissed off for two different reasons regarding our New York Football Giants. You’re watching Giants Now by Chat Sports. I am your host, Marshall Green. We got some major injury news to talk about with Andrew Thomas. And what I saw from the Washington Commanders yesterday, I know I said I was done talking about week one. This is the last time. Might be lying. I am pissed off at the way that the Giants played against a team in Washington that I did not think looked very good at all in their lopsided loss to the Green Bay Packers. Injury news of the day, Andrew Thomas has been named doubtful for this game on Sunday against the Dallas Cowboys. This will now be the second game of the season that Andrew Thomas does not participate in. And I’m not mad at Andrew Thomas at all. Am I frustrated with the injury? Yes. Am I growing impatient with him being on the sideline? Absolutely. Do I want him to gut out this injury and go out there and play even if he’s not 100%. No, I I don’t. I want Andrew Thomas out there only when he is not at a risk for reinjury and he is at 100%. This is a guy that we know has a long injury history. Part of that is because that he would always try to a play through injury or b rush back and play at not 100% and with a risk of reinjury. So, I’m not in the camp of having Andrew Thomas rush back. Just signed a five-year contract extension. This is year one of that. He’s 26 years old. He’s going to be here for a long time. Hopefully, if he can’t get healthy, and rushing back is not good for the long-term health of him, and we don’t need to talk about it, but we know how important he is to this Giants offense. Am I pissed off that he’s missing time? Yeah. But I’m pissed off because the New York Giants are not transparent with their injuries. Brian Dable has repeatedly talked about how this is all part of the plan. It’s part of the plan. It was not part of the plan for Andrew Thomas to one miss the first game of the season, two miss the second game of the season, and three missing practices in week two of the season. I understand ramping up and practicing, but the fact that he still can’t practice every single day is a major red flag, which tells me the New York Giants either A got bad information on this injury or b were lying to you and me. And look, it’s not their job to be 100% transparent with the injuries, especially if they feel as if it’s going to give them a competitive disadvantage. But Joe Shane said he expects Andrew Thomas to be ready to go for the season opener opener and he thinks he said he said I think he’ll be ready to go. We expect him to be ready. He can go. Things can change obviously, but the expectation is he’s going to be out there week one. Well, he wasn’t. And he wasn’t out there in week two. If the Giants and Joe Shane instead of saying that said, “Look, we’re not putting any timeline on this. We’re taking it day by day. Our goal is to get Andrew Thomas out there when he is fully healthy and not at risk for reinjury. And that may even mean we have to take it slow with him. Every Giants fan would have been upset, but they would have been upset two months ago, not today, when they’re two days away from taking on the Dallas Cowboys and they are one loss away from being 0 and2 and the writing on the wall. So yeah, I’m upset Andrew Thomas is hurt. I’m not mad at Andrew Thomas. I’m mad at the Giants. Joe Shane was not transparent or he got bad info. And if you got bad info, that’s a different and deeper conversation we need to have about the Giants training staff. As we know, they are always awesome at diagnosing injuries. Cough cough, Evan Neil, and his foot ankle. So, I’m pissed off about that. I’m also pissed off at the fact that the New York Giants lost to the Washington Commanders, and I just watched them get beat down by the Green Bay Packers on Thursday Night Football. The Packers were in total control of that football game from kickoff to final buzzer. And that’s concerning because the Giants did not look good against Washington. A lot of times you say the film is never as good as you think it is. It’s never as awesome as you thought it was. It’s never as bad as you think it is either. Even if you think you have a horrible game, there’s sometimes some good stuff in the film you can find. It’s never as bad. This is one of those rare instances where it was actually worse than what we saw unfold at 1 p.m. last Sunday. They were bad in all three phases. They were out coached. They were not prepared and they looked like a inferior team to Washington and we just saw that team go and get beat down on prime time football. How far are the New York Giants away from being able to compete against top teams in this league? I remember I was watching Sunday Night Football with a couple of friends and I asked him, I was like, “How far are the Giants away from competing in that Bills and Ravens game? How many home run draft picks? How many home run free agency signings?” I was getting pissed off watching the Packers just take it to the Washington Commanders. Everything the commanders did and had success with against the Giants, they couldn’t do against the Packers. They looked average and the Giants got beat down by that team. So, yeah, I was pissed off about that as well, but you could change the script like that. Go out, beat the Dallas Cowboys this Sunday. They’re without their best corner. They’re without Michael Parsons, obviously. You can beat this team. You got to execute. You got to be coached better than the Dallas Cowboys are as they’re going to be entering game number two in the Shenheimer era. And you have to play complimentary football. We’ll see if they can do that. Let’s close with some injury news for the Giants as designations have been made for players. Demetrius Flanigan fouls. A depth inside linebacker for the Giants. Primarily a special teams player is out. He was limited at Wednesday’s practice. He was a DNP at Thursday and Friday’s practice. He is now out for the ball game dealing with a calf injury. A new one popping up. Rake Nunes Roaches practiced on Wednesday, was limited on Thursday and he is a DNP on Friday and he has officially been listed as doubtful with a foot injury. So Nunes Rochess and Andrew Thomas both doubtful with foot injuries and foot injuries are always scary but even worse when it is a 6’4 300 lb plus human being. Wandell Robinson an ankle injury. He has been listed as questionable. I believe he is going to play. Um I’m not too worried about that. Um Malik Neighbors was a full participant in Friday’s practice. He has no game day designation, meaning he is going to play unless something goes bad. And Darius Sllayton, who has been limited the last two practices, he does not have a game day designation either. So the expectation is for Darius Sllayton to play. Uh Juan Dale, the only person that’s questionable. I think he’s going to play. The data over the years says if you are doubtful that means you are not gonna play and that’s it. The Cowboys will be without Don Bland. It’s the only injury on their side. Any the only player with a designation and we’re set. Sage is set. 1 p.m. Sunday. Giants Cowboys. They’ll be without Andrew Thomas potentially Rake Nunes Roches. Does that mean the Giants will call up somebody from the practice squad? Could we see Elijah Chapman out there? I don’t hate the idea of Chapman being the fullback in the red zone and running the football and not trying gimmicky plays to Marcus Bo. Have him lead the way for Scataboo. Tyrone Tracy said, “Everybody wants us to run the ball inside the red zone.” Well, go and do it and be efficient. Talk is cheap. The Giants have a lot of good talkers, a lot of good quote creators, and a lot of good buzz generators. Let’s go be good football players, and let’s go beat Dallas. We’re all rooting for you.
